Slumbara scratches his chin and ponders Gunderman's offer
Skittles leaps off Meltam's shoulder where he was hiding and runs forward to ponder the Gunderman.

Gunderman: EGADS! It is a small demonic kitten! It has to be slain for the sake of our canine overlords!
A small "yipping" noise erupts from the Gunderman's pack and a crazed poodle leaps through the air and tries to maul Skittles!
Meltam Perandus: I will pay it back with interest! The First United Bank of Acheron will open it's coffers to us in, oh, 5-6 days.

Poodle turns its attention to Slumbara, blood and rabies in its eyes.
Gunderman points at Slumbara.
Volmalric: As a consummate professional, Slumbara, I presume you're aware of how unprofessional it is to switch up bounties during a job like that.
Gunderman: My poodle claims you are the abomination of feline kind! YOU MUST DIE.
Feneril (Slumbara): I think the most perfect complication Dave could hope for is "Slumbara hits his head and forgets about the bounty
Gunderman swings at Slumbara.

Excellent use of a Hero point, canceling 4 of his 5 successess.
Because his damage roll was 21 points of damage inflicting 4 Wounds, with splash damage to Skittles, Meltam and Volmalric.

Okay, that is much better, 10 damage (before armor)

Skittles rolls....a 1 and a 3.
Skittles dodges out of the way of the axe...this will be important shortly.
Tack (Meltam Perandus): A familiar that lasts more than one session? KEEPER.
Gunderman swings his axe in a giant arc, it begins letting out a howling cry that causes the Bossonian ferrymen and the nearby family to fail their panic checks and scatter (because I don't feel like rolling for them). It chops into Slumbara, knocking the big man aside before chewing into Meltam and Volmalric also. His axe finishes its brutal arc, but then lets out a bellowing cry of rage when it fails to hit Skittles. The axe seems to take on a life of its own, rotates in the Gunderman's hands, and proceeds to embed itself into the Gunderman's head, where it begins making chomping noises as it crunches through his skull.
Khorne claps in approval, then returns to his normal Games Workshop setting.
Slumbara: This is very dissapointing
Slumbara carves off the Gunderman's scalp
Skittles pounces on ypping poodle and they begin rolling on the ground hissing and barking.

Slumbara picks up the axe and throws it off the ferry into the river
Meltam Perandus: Slumbara I am dissapointed, we have to bury that axe some place where it can't hurt people rather than being a plot device in the sequel.
Slumbara , seeing that his animal handling has failed, also picks up the poodle and throws it into the river

Skittles is latched on to Poodle, refuses to release grip and ends up in the water with poodle. A short while later, only Skittles emerges from the water on the same side of the river as the rest of the party.
Meltam Perandus: Good Kitty!

Slumbara swims after Meltam and grabs him to pull him to safety

Slumbara: I wasn't sure if I was going to kill you, but if you kill yourself, I am going to collect the bounty
Meltam Perandus: Sure, if that happens, no one will axe any questions.
Slumbara: I'm still not convinced whether I should collect that bounty on Volmalric though
Meltam Perandus: I can't believe you are so easily swayed by pittances.

GM: Tropes were not crossed, Volmalric asked a question and received an answer which is trop-ish but accurate. Also, I would have to see if this particular piece of Conan lore came out before or after LOTR.

Volmalric and Slumbara spend about 15 minutes following the other person's trail through the marsh on this side of the river before coming back to where Meltalm and Skittles are standing.
Meltalm shrugs and points at, what is blindingly obviously a trail to such a skilled Woodsman as himself. It also helps that Skittles is jumping from one boot print to the other.
Meltam Perandus: Ah, the fresh, untained wilds!
Slumbara asks Volmalric many detailed questions about his farming secrets as they follow after their quarry
After a couple days, you arrive at a Zingaran Border Town. There is a poorly maintained pallisade and it is on a small man-made rise to survey the marshland that is the border of Pictland, Bossonia, and Zingara.

The town looks to have a population of perhaps 200 or so.

Volmalric answers back with detailed responses with regards to proper organization, shifting between several crops and training various people to specialize while the majority remain generalized

Slumbara decides not to tear off Volmalric's head for the bounty in light of his excellent farming advice
There is a small sign at the entrance of the Zingaran village, it is called "Tarroca"

The village appears to be older and not very well maintained, but is generally busy with foot traffic and people moving about. It does not appear to have been burned, looted, razed, or destroyed recently.
Feneril (Slumbara): we can change that!
Volmalric: So, let's check for the inn, first. Meltam, you've seen the man, keep an eye out for him

There appear to be several inns in the town. The guards nod as you approach the gate, but make no move to intercept or communicate with you unless you want to engage in shenanigans or communication.
Meltam Perandus salutes the good guards.
Volmalric passes by the guards without trouble

The guards shrug back and do not appear very interested in you, since you are not transporting enough taxable goods for them to care about.
The guards wave back at the group, Slumbara attracts a few stares, as large black guys are uncommon in this tiny out of the way village.
Volmalric: We can check each of the inns and see who's come into town recently, as well as whether there are any questionable activities or locations which they'd be seeking out
Slumbara: Slumbara is thinking we should stake out the brothels, if Guto or Arqiite are here, they will probably be found there
Meltam Perandus: That is actually great advice!
Volmalric gives Meltam a funny look

Meltam Perandus looks for the most expensive brothel, as we know our prey has probably stolen and looted all the way here...

Meltam Perandus: Why, Volmaric, I am looking for the two goons we need to bring to Justice!
Meltam locates the nicest brothel in town. It appears to have a minor beg bug infestation and the risk of getting STDs are only 1 in 3.
Slumbara locates the seediest brothel in town...it is next door (there are only 200 people in this place) and it seems to have a major bed bug infestation and a 3 in 4 change if STDs.
Volmalric: You're going to hire a vampire?
Volmalric: So, while I am totally for investigating the brothels, I think it's a better idea to check on the inns first and see if they've gotten places to stay. They are likely going to be visiting those before a brothel

Volmalric asks around and after a few inquiries is told to go to the "Proud Horse Inn" as that is where Count Duro is likely to be found this time of day, and the Count (who is the ruler of this town, FYI) was seen talking with two men who match the description you have for your quarry.
Volmalric: Hmmmmm
Slumbara: We should find this Count Duro then, we can always go to the brothels later
Volmalric: Agreed, I'm hoping that they don't wind up getting on Count Duro's good side before we stop them
Slumbara: I am sure one of you silver tounged white-devils can change his mind

The Proud Horse Inn is a large establishment in the middle of town. The main floor is packed, but you easily spot Count Duro, as he is seated at the end of a rectangular table close to the fireplace. There are at least 15 guards stationed at the chairs and around him. Most of the patrons seem to consider this "situation normal" and pay much more attention to Slumbara's entrance ("GIANT KUSHITE! OMG!") than anything else happening.

Count Duro is an older man, with scraggly grey hair, a long beard, and a nice looking sword draped over the back of his chair. He has a flagon of ale in one hand, and staring blankly at a nearby chessboard while a young man (you'd guess maybe early teens) is contemplating his next move.

From outside the inn, Volmalric and Slumbara hear what sounds like a chainsaw revving and then a scream of "BLOOD" followed by a loud slurping noise and massive panic. Several people bolt inside the end, screaming about the "END TIMES HAVE COME".

Volmalric and Slumbara are pretty sure Meltam is doing something.

Volmalric sees a very misbehaving axe devouring the entrails of what had been about a 10 year old boy. Meltalm has just tripped over his own feet and fallen face first into the ground a about 10 feet from the axe. Standing over Meltam is an imposing looking man holding a cutlass who seems to be debating between stabbing Meltam and trying to rescue the innocent bystanders nearest to Meltam's weapon.
Slumbara finishes his drink and heads outside
Volmalric: Clear the area from the axe!

Meltam flies towards the axe and plows into the corpse of the urchin. There is an explosion of dust (way more than would be expected, it is almost like a miniature sandspout that lasts about 3 seconds). When the dust clears, the axe is nowhere to be seen...but Meltam is wrapped in the entrails of a young boy with chunks of large intestines in his teeth and draped out both sides of his mouth.

Metalm slurps down the intestine in response.
Volmalric: If only we could arrest someone for stupidity...
