Slumbara: Meltam, why did you kill that small child?
Guard: And why is that man chewing on the entrails of a child?
Slumbara: I didn't know he was a cannibal as well
Volmalric tries to stop himself from gagging at the sight
Slumbara: Meltam, you got some splainin' to do
Meltam Perandus: Um....I was never here!
Kazemi (Volmalric): Is anyone else actually injured, other than the kid that Meltam is eating?
Meltam Perandus is using a Hero Point
Meltam Perandus: Stealth 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 19]
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Volmalric: Observation Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 31]
Lazair: He threw some strange axe-shaped monster at the child!
Meltam Perandus: Thievery 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 15]
Slumbara: Meltam is fooling with things he does not understand
Slumbara: He is not wise like Slumbara
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 31]
Slumbara looks for Meltam
Count Duro walks out to see what the problem is.
Count Duro: What is going on out here?
Slumbara: Meltam killed a child and ate his intestines
Guard: Some Bossonian Vagrant is a crazed cannibal?
Count Duro: So kill him and be done with it. Sheesh, do I have to make all the decisions around here?
Lazair: WAIT! Is there a bounty on his head? I CLAIM IT!
Slumbara: If anyone is claiming the bounty on him, it will be Slumbara
Meltam Perandus: [1d4 = 1]
Lazair: I don't think so Kushite!
Lazair: I'm the bounty hunter here.
GM: Mike, roll 3d6.
Slumbara: Slumbara is very good at killing people in exchange for money
Volmalric: [3d6 = 12]
Slumbara: Persuade 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 17]
Lazair: Yeah, and I just collected 10 gold in scalps, and rescued children from the crazy cannibal.
Lazair: Discipline 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 31]
Lazair rolls really badly....
Volmalric glances back and forth between the two warriors, keeping an eye on Meltam in his peripheral vision because it's very unsettling
Lazair: But you know, with your imposing physique and clearly superior sklls, I'm pretty sure you do a great job. You know what, you can kill the sorcerer.
Slumbara draws his sword and goes over to lop Meltam's head off
Meltam Perandus: Wait, the demon is over there! It was not I!
Meltam flops over on his side like an Italian Soccer player. A noxious cloud bursts from something under him, filling the street with an incredible stench and a greenish, dusty haze that drives everyone indoors.
Meltam Perandus: Stealth 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 15]
Meltam Perandus Runs for it
Anyone who wants to try to find Meltam needs to roll Observation and Resistance.
Meltam Perandus: Athletics Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 31]
Slumbara: Resistance 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Volmalric: Observation Successes = 1 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 27]
Lazair: Resistance Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 5]
Lazair: Obs, Insight, Theivery Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 18]
Slumbara: [1d20 = 12]
Volmalric: Resistance 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 32]
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 35]
You guys are awesome at rolling Complications....
Feneril (Slumbara): So for the resistance, I rerolled the 7 -> the 12 (from my talent)
Feneril (Slumbara): You can reroll specific dice
Feneril (Slumbara): Mike
Feneril (Slumbara): to answer your question
GM: Right, so I'll type this up....
Volmalric: [1d20 = 12]
Slumbara: so my observation roll was a total failure, but 2 successes on the resistance roll
Kazemi (Volmalric): That will be one success for me
Slumbara and Volmalric manage to avoid the worst of the gas and control their urge to vomit, allowing them to try to pursue Meltam through the street. However, the density of the greenish cloud is such that they lose their quarry. After stumbling around for a few minutes, they find themselves back at the entrance to the inn, where Count Duro and many of the villagers are huddled inside, coughing and wheezing.
Slumbara: Meltam escaped by using his foul magic
Slumbara: Or a big fart
Volmalric: Or both
Volmalric: Magic is never a good sign
Kazemi (Volmalric): I presume Count Duro is just going back to drinking?
Meltam Perandus is using a Hero Point
Meltam Perandus: Ranged Weapons 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 12]
Meltam Perandus: Throw Rock: (Reach 2-Improvised-Stun-Thrown-2D): [2d6 = 6]
Meltam Perandus: [1d6 = 2]
Slumbara negotiates with Count Duro on a bounty for Meltam's head
Slumbara: Society Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 23]
Count Duro: Yes, yes, whatever you want large angry Kushite man. If you bring me the head of this murderous bandit I will have my soldiers help you find the other people you asked me about.
Slumbara: Very nice!
Volmalric: Very nicely done!
Meltam Perandus: if that gives me time to escape properly, I'll just lurk at the fringes of town and use my woodsy heritage to stay hidden until we resume the great Goon hunt.
Slumbara waits for the noxious cloud to clear and then heads out and looks for Meltam's tracks
Slumbara is using a Hero Point
Slumbara: Survival 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 28]
Feneril (Slumbara): I am going to roll Slumbara's Insight to see if has the same brilliant idea I just had
Slumbara: Insight Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 28]
Feneril (Slumbara): not yet
Volmalric: Lore 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 16]
Volmalric: What the heck happened to Meltam? D:
About five minutes after Meltam created the gas cloud, it clears and the street is again safe for travel.
Volmalric: as this is my best method of discovering what might've occured there, since I don't actually have ranks in Sorcery
Slumbara: the hero point + 0 success roll was for tracking Meltam
Feneril (Slumbara): Notwithstanding Slumbara's failed insight roll, have you guys seen the movie Dragonheart?
Slumbara heads off in search of Meltam and finds Lazair lying on the ground, evidently dead from a cracked skull.
Kazemi (Volmalric): Not in forever
Lazair: Egads! Slain by a thrown rock before I could be cool and add to the story, how sad.
Tack (Meltam Perandus): Sean Conner as a dragon?
Meltam Perandus: Im really suprised that plan worked. I figured I'd be added to your trophy pile!
Volmalric checks Lazair's corpse, both for goods and also for signs of the damage and to make sure he's actually dead
Feneril (Slumbara): Yeah
Feneril (Slumbara): The main plot device of the movie consisted of a knight and a dragon who were friends, and would travel around and the dragon would terrorize villages until the knight showed up and they would pay him to kill the dragon\
Volmalric: Healing 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 27]
Kazemi (Volmalric): RIGHT! Do that with our wizard friend?
Feneril (Slumbara): lolyup
The great detective Slumbara believes he has found and can follow the tracks of his erstwhile, murderous companion.
Feneril (Slumbara): I am not sure if Slumbara is devious enough to come up with that idea though
Slumbara strikes out after Meltam
Tack (Meltam Perandus): yes, because magic green farts are something the populace will gladl pay to be rid of
Kazemi (Volmalric): I might suggest it, but magic is too volatile and also Volmaric doesn't trust Meltam nor the axe, nor this combined Axe-Meltam
Feneril (Slumbara): Well, also the child-murdering
Tack (Meltam Perandus): Hey, this was all your fault for not just tag-teaming with the gunderman and clocking kazemi and I.....or the bad rolling of the gunderman.
Kazemi (Volmalric): I'm less concerned about a single child and more concerned about things that would be way worse D:
Kazemi (Volmalric): And your own infernal greed xD
Feneril (Slumbara): I like your logic Tack: "My behavior is your fault for not killing me sooner"
Feneril (Slumbara): lol
Volmalric follows after Slumbara, keeping an eye out for their wayward companion
Slumbara is following Meltam's tracks into the forest. Is Volmalric following?
Kazemi (Volmalric): Yes!
Volmalric: Observation Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Meltam Perandus: Well I have no idea what magic powers I do or do not have, so...might as well be a sleazeweasel until the time comes
Meltam Perandus is using a Hero Point
Meltam Perandus: Persuade 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 27]
Feneril (Slumbara): "nothing wrong"?
After following Meltam's tracks for a while, Volmalric and Slumbara hear the sounds of picks and shovels in the distance, in the forest nearby.
Slumbara draws his sword
Volmalric: Hmmmm, seems more likely to be our original quarry
Volmalric draws his bow and arrow
Slumbara moves towards the source of the sounds
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 17]
Tack (Meltam Perandus): jokes on them, they kill me and the Axe is loose.
Slumbara and Volmalric walk up to the clearing and spot Arqiite and Guto supervising what looks like 4 of Count Duro's guards as they shovel and pick at the entrance to an ancient cairn.
Meltam walks out of the trees nearby with his hands in the air and tells them, "Hello old friends, how are you? I think we can help make each other rich. We should loot this tomb together."
Arqiite seems to think about this while Guto snarls and draws his weapon, clearly planning to kill Meltam. The guards all pause in their work to see what is happening. One of them stabs his shovel into the ground and rests on it, letting out a heavy sigh.
The resting soldier tips over in the soft ground, smashing his cheek on the side of the stone door just as Guto runs forward to stab Meltalm.
The door flings open and a strange winged bat creature, much larger than Slumbara bursts free, and tears the guard's head off. It then grabs another nearby guard and uses him as a thrown weapon to smash into Guto, stopping the man in his tracks while Meltalm stands there slack-jawed and can only mutter, "It's not me! It wasn't me this time! I didn't do it!"
GM: OKAY, COMBAT TIME!
[TURN] Meltam Perandus
Slumbara: I've heard that excuse Meltam
Kazemi (Volmalric): That is a very impressive Complication for your Persuasion check, Meltam
Slumbara leaps into action to defeat the bat creature, but only because he loves killing big deadly things and not because he wants to save Meltam
Tack (Meltam Perandus): Hey, I told them it would be unsafe to loot it without knowledge of its many traps, but Guto was just being disagreeable.
Slumbara is using a Hero Point
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 11]
Meltam Perandus: As far as I'm concerned, I played it straight.
Tack (Meltam Perandus): Also I have a new power that's super efffective!
Meltam Perandus: Ranged Weapons 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 17]
Kazemi (Volmalric): Devour Child?
Meltam Perandus: Throw Rock: (Reach 2-Improvised-Stun-Thrown-2D): [2d6 = 8]
Feneril (Slumbara): so how much momentum did I generate with 4 successes?
Feneril (Slumbara): or is the bat going to attempt to parry
Tack (Meltam Perandus): Throw Rock, best skill!
Bat Demon: Parry, Ranged Weapons 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 10]
GM: You generated 1 extra success Fen
Volmalric: Persuade to rally the guards to attack the Bat Creature?
Feneril (Slumbara): will use it for extra damage
Volmalric: Persuade 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 18]
Slumbara: Broadsword: (Reach 2-Parry 1-UNB-5D): [7d6 = 20]
Volmalric: Kill the beast before it gets away! Aim for the ears and eyes!
Volmalric: Does it glkow?
Slumbara: [3d6 = 6]
Feneril (Slumbara): re-rolling the 3+4+4
Feneril (Slumbara): +1 from the momentum spend, so...
Feneril (Slumbara): 9 damage?
GM: Slumbara cuts into the bat demons with a mighty stroke, and seems to have hit it pretty hard, but it does not seem too badly injured. (i.e. you did no wounds, but it definitely took damage)
Meltam Perandus: Throw Rock: (Reach 2-Improvised-Stun-Thrown-2D): [2d6 = 9]
GM: Meltam's rock bounces off its head.
Volmalric's encouragement is enough to convince the guards (who would have otherwise fled and might have lived) to attack the bat demons.
Arqiite decides now is a good time to stab Slumbara in the back, and Guto stands up with the intent of finishing off the bastard Meltam.
GM: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 8]
GM: [2d20 = 16]
Meltam Perandus: Parry 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 35]
GM: ¦¦ Broadsword (M): [10d6 = 31]
Feneril (Slumbara): let me know if I needs to parry
The guards gang up on the bat demon and beat it ferociously, inflicting a wound from their combined attacks!
GM: Melee Successes = 0 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 38]
GM: Melee Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 37]
This is what I rolled for Arqiite and Guto: 20-18-18-19
So Guto tries to stab Meltam and succeeds in overextending himself, tripping on his cloak, and landing face first in front of Meltalm. Meltalm then howls with a bloodthirsty rage, picks Guto up and tears him in half with inhuman strength while yelling, "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!"
Arqiite sees what happens to Guto, completely forgets that he was attacking Slumbara, and manages to defecate all over himself and runs as fast as he can away from the combat...straight at Volmalric.
[ROUND 4]
[TURN] Warrior 3
Tack (Meltam Perandus): In truth, I will poor one out for Guto, who's only crime (Well among others, but those are par for the setting) was touching the dice.
Slumbara continues hacking at Meltam's pet bat demon
Meltalm is showered in Guto intestines.
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 14]
Bat Demon: Parry, Ranged Weapons 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 12]
Meltam Perandus: Please gentlemen, this bat is just panicing because it is exposed to daylight, It means no harm!
Meltam Perandus: Animal Handling 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 21]
Meltam Perandus: Animal Handling 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 21]
The Bat Demon deflects Slumbara's attack away.
The Bat Demon realizes it forgot to go last round and takes out this frustration on the guards.
It rakes with its claws on the ones on its flanks.
Bat Demon: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 19]
Bat Demon: ¦¦ Claws: [7d6 = 10]
There is a bigger spray of blood from them than from Guto. Slumbara is used to this, so it doesn't bother him. The other guy has a wife and kids and passes out.
GM: The Bat Demon considers attacking Slumbara, then changes its mind, notices the bloody Meltalm who is trying to talk to it, and decides that Meltalm has something it wants!
GM: Slumbara can make an attack when the Bat Demon passes it.
Slumbara never misses a chance to hack at a bad thing
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 27]
[TURN] Bat Demon
Volmalric is using a Hero Point
Kazemi (Volmalric): Multiaction, shooting an arrow into Arqiite's knee and also Intimidate to tell him to sit the hell down
Volmalric: Ranged Weapons 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 15]
Volmalric: Persuade 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 21]
Arqiite sits the hell down.
Volmalric looses an arrow, missing the fleeing man's knee
Volmalric: Stay where you are while we kill this thing, then you'll have questions to answer, Arqiite.
The Bat Demon lunges for Meltalm and then stops, as if frozen in place. It stops its attack and looks quizzically at a small white furry thing on Meltalm's head.
Skittles: Meow.
Arqiite complies with this wonderfully fine suggestion from Volmalric.
[ROUND 5]
[TURN] Bat Demon
Slumbara gleefully leaps into action, hacking at the bat demon from behind
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Feneril (Slumbara): Will use the momentum for bonus damage again
GM: ok
Slumbara: Broadsword: (Reach 2-Parry 1-UNB-5D): [7d6 = 23]
Slumbara: [1d6 = 3]
Slumbara rams his sword through the Bat Demon's lower abdomen, causing blackish ichor to fly all over Meltam, which is fine, since he was already covered in all sorts of other ichor and intestinal goo.
Slumbara: Yes, bleed on your master!
The Bat Demon howls in rage, then gurgles and slides off Slumbara's sword and falls to the ground. It's skin begins bubbling and oozing and within a minute the creature is reduced to nothing more than a puddle of tar.
Volmalric turns to Arqiite
Volmalric: What was that thing?
Volmalric: Persuade 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 6]
Skittles hops off Meltam and runs towards the cairn entrance, stops at the entrance and gestures for Meltam to follow.
Slumbara: YEs, we will interrogate him soon
Slumbara: But first things first
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 12]
Arqiite: I have no idea! But thank god you killed it!
Meltam Perandus: Hello friends! Onward to treasure!
Slumbara hacks off Meltam's left hand at the wrist
Meltam Perandus Follows Skittles unquestioningly
Feneril (Slumbara): Tack, are you going to use a hero point to attempt a parry, or should I directly to damage?
GM: No need.
Slumbara hacks off Meltam's hand, it falls to the ground. There is no blood, Meltam does not seem to have noticed.
Meltam chases after Skittles.
Slumbara looks confused
Slumbara picks up meltam's hand and puts it into his backpack
Slumbara: Sorcery 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 21]
Slumbara: This was supposed to be a lesson for Meltam about consequences
Slumbara: It hasn't worked
Meltam Perandus: yeah your teaching just isn't cutting it.
Slumbara: But I wonder...
Volmalric: What is in that tomb, Arqiite?
Slumbara: Meltam, come back here so I can cut your head off
Slumbara: I want to see if you notice
Slumbara runs after Meltam
Meltam Perandus is enraptured at the thought of a fanciful adventure of spelunking with a pet cat. He does not hear you.
Arqiite: Treasure! That's what the map said! We were going go give Count Duro a portion in exchange for letting us borrow his goons.
Slumbara attempts to get Skittles to lead Meltam back out of the cave
Slumbara: Animal Handling 4EXP/4FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 12]
Slumbara yells in cat
Skittles: [2d20 = 3]
Volmalric: And where did you get this map from?
Skittles rolls 4 successes on Sorcery to compel Slumbara to follow him and Meltam into the cave.
Volmalric: Observation Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 16]
Slumbara: Discipline 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Volmalric: Persuade 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 14]
Slumbara shrugs his shoulders and chases after Meltam into the cave
Arqiite: Captain Jehannus had it, it's why we killed him! It was going to make us rich!
Volmalric: Slumbara! Don't go down there, for goodness sake! And where's Meltam?
Slumbara: Meltam ran into the cave
Volmalric: Then let's destroy the entrance and leave him buried and forgotten
Slumbara: Slumbara is doing science
Volmalric rubs his temples
Volmalric: For Mitra's sake...
Slumbara runs after Meltam so he can slowly dismember him and see at what point Meltam takes notice
Arqiite: Umm...maybe you should see what your friends are up to?
Volmalric: I'm sorry, are you volunteering to lead me down there?
Arqiite: Hell no.
Volmalric: My thoughts exactly
Volmalric: I give them about an hour, or until we hear an inhuman screech and the trembling of all life in the vicinity
Arqiite: I'm fine with that. Know any good Mitran drinking songs?
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 18]
Volmalric remains on top and questions Arqiite
Slumbara looks for Meltam and Skittles
Meltam and Slumbara get down the bottom of a short flight of stairs and come to a chamber with a soft bluish glow. The chamber is perfectly round, with a six foot long and three foot wide stone bier in the middle. Lying in perfect restful state on top of the bier is a beautiful woman who gives off a faint whitish glow. Her features are strange to you, as is the armor she is wearing. The walls of the room are covered in runes that you do not immediately recognize. There is a chalk circle around the bier, completely undamaged. Outside the circle is it obvious that something was pacing here for a very long time, trying to cross the circle and failing.
Slumbara: Lore 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 7]
Volmalric: Lore 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 23]
Meltam Perandus: Lore 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 31]
Meltam Perandus: Skittles is this your owner?
Skittles runs over and jumps up on the bier, begins licking the woman's face.
Meltam Perandus: or are you actually a polymorphed or cursed man that is actually the romantic interest of this poor lady, where you have no way to wake her from a sleep of centuries?
Slumbara: Athletics 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 12]
Slumbara grabs Meltam by the collar and thrusts him over the chalk circle toward the bier
Meltam Perandus: Hey, what's the big deal?
Slumbara: I want to make sure it is safe to cross
Meltam Perandus: I was trying to figure out stuff!
Slumbara: You have been a very bad Meltam today, very bad
There is a briliant flash of light which erupts out of the champer and up through the opening. Volmalric and Arqiite are stunned as there is a loud thunderclap. Two nearby clouds form into Mitran holy symbols.
Slumbara: You are lucky Slumbara has not already taken your head
Arqiite: IN THE NAME OF MITRA!
Slumbara: Animal Handling 4EXP/4FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 19]
Meltam Perandus: Discipline Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 37]
Arqiite: I'm a believer now!
Volmalric: Alright, we're going down there
Volmalric: Consider this your penance, if we survive then I'll make sure you're free
Volmalric gestures and heads down towards the cave
Meltam is forcibly thrown out of Slumbara's hand, and against the wall, there is a loud cracking and splintering noise, and Meltam then vomits up the haft of an axe like a cat passing a hairball.
Arqiite runs down the entrance to see what wonders await.
Metalm's stump (missing the hand) starts bleeding profusely.
Volmalric: I would like to know who and what is glowing, and what isn't
Slumbara helps stop the bleeding
Slumbara: Healing 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 15]
Slumbara: There, now Slumbara's valuable lesson about consequences has been passed on
Slumbara: Slumbara will keep this hand until you learn to use it more responsibly
Meltam Perandus: I do not find your handiwork here admirable, good Kushite.
Slumbara: In the meantime, at least you can no longer use that axe
Volmalric: Welcome back to the world of the living
Kazemi (Volmalric): to Meltam
Meltam Perandus: Im pretty sure that axe is something this cat needs.
The woman's eyes flutter open.
Volmalric: Lore 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 22]
Arqiite: OH MY GODDESS! I worship you!
Arqiite drops to the ground prostrate.
Meltam Perandus: Linguistics Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 16]
Slumbara: Slumbara does not care who you worship, you are still under arrest
Volmalric determines that Slumbara's healing skill has removed Meltam from the "immediate risk of death" to the "immediate risk of short term, highly lethal infection and gangrene".
Volmalric (Yeah, but there's no way my pack mule came down here, so we'll have to go back to treat the wound
Slumbara waves to the woman
Slumbara: Hello! I am Slumbara
The woman looks over at Slumbara and smiles.
Volmalric approaches the woman cautiously to do a quick inspection of her for wounds and demon-hood
Volmalric: Healing 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 23]
Rhiveth: Hello, I am Rhiveth, Princess of Lemuria.
Volmalric: Lore 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 18]
Rhiveth looks at Volmalric.
Rhiveth: I'm quite certain I am free of demonic taint, thank you for your concern.
Volmalric: Please do not be offended if I don't take your word for it. I've heard that before
Volmalric glances at Meltam
Meltam Perandus: I had no hand in this. REALLY!
Slumbara: Volmalric, you should ask women for permission before examing them
Slumbara: it is rude
Slumbara: and rapey
Slumbara: I am Slumbara. I'm not a princess of anything, but I am very strong and good looking
Meltam Perandus: Lore 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 24]
Meltam Perandus: Hail and greeings to you, Fair Princess Rhiveth of Lost Lemuria. How is it that you slumber here, for such a huge length of time, and how is it that axe is seemingly the key to breaking such a powerful glamor?
Meltam Perandus: Also please do not reveal the true name of that cat, else we'd lose our beloved mascot, Skittles.
Slumbara: Slumbara would be careful giving Meltam dangerous knowledge
Slumbara: Mletam is dangerous enough already
Rhiveth: Skittles?
Meltam Perandus points to the cat
Rhiveth laughs.
Rhiveth: You are calling yourself Skittles?
Skittles shrugs.
Rhiveth rubs his belly.
Rhiveth: My cute little familiar, how I have missed you.
Volmalric: If I may ask, what are you doing down here?
Rhiveth: I was trapped by the creature that I assume is slain, and waiting for a time to be rescued.
Rhiveth looks at Meltam.
Rhiveth: My my, you are a collection of nasty hitchhikers. Have you been dabbling in foul forces?
Slumbara: Yes, Slumbara slayed the creature
Slumbara: Here is my card
Slumbara hands Rhiveth a business card
Rhiveth: Why thanks.
Rhiveth graciously accepts card and inclines her head as a sign of respect.
Slumbara: Mletam has dabbled in many bad things
Slumbara: He has bad judgement
Slumbara: He is not wise like Slumbara
Rhiveth laughs.
Rhiveth: Then he is need of reform.
Slumbara: Yes, this is why I cut his hand off
Volmalric: Reform is one word for it
Rhiveth: I am sure the wise Mitran here and the mighty Slumbara can help with that.
Skittles gestures and points at Meltam.
Rhiveth: I see.
Meltam Perandus: I feel better now, but not from your violence, Kushite.
Rhiveth: Meltam, do you happen to have any nice canopic jars?
Feneril (Slumbara): BTW, I have about 5-10 more minutes\
Meltam Perandus: Why sure. All of the Acheron Playset is now yours. It has caused me only guilt...
Rhiveth: Thank you. Set them down in a circle around yourself.
Meltam Perandus obeys.
Rhiveth: Volmalric, can you and your apprentice there (gestures to Arqiite) help me with a chant?
Slumbara eats popcorn and watches
Rhiveth: Now let's see if we can put a few things back where they belong.
Rhiveth begins casting ritual magic.
Volmalric: Of course!
GM: After an hour, and a lot of gurgling, howling, screaming in pain, and thrashing around, Meltam has successfully managed to cough up, and somehow manage to shove into canopic jars:
GM: 1) A Blood thirsty axe
GM: 2) A trickster demon
GM: 3) A stone warrior fragment
GM: 4) About 8 gallons of blood and bile
Slumbara laugs at Meltam's painful ordeal
Rhiveth: There now.
Kazemi (Volmalric): I'm presuming most of that blood is from the children he ate
Slumbara: It's funny because you did it to yourself
Meltam Perandus: Whew thanks!
Rhiveth: He did.
Meltam does manage to get his hand back as part of the process.
Kazemi (Volmalric): Say that out loud to Slumbara, I dare you
Volmalric: Congratulations, Meltam. you've actually gotten a second chance.
Meltam Perandus: Thank you so much Rhiveth, and all who helped with the prayer. I feel as If I have awoken from a terrible, feverish dream.
Rhiveth: Now, the magic that has preserved me to this time does not extend beyond this place. And there are other, greater things out there that must be tracked down.
Rhiveth: I shall ask of you to be my eyes and ears, and go do that which I no longer can.
Rhiveth: It will be hard, but the rewards will be great. I shall help how I can.
Volmalric: We'll do what we can
Slumbara: Slumbara likes rewards
Slumbara: Ok, I have to go to bed
Feneril (Slumbara): Wifey is getting grump
Feneril (Slumbara): ok, I Will see you guys after the holiday
