Slumbara: [1d8 = 7]
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 22]
Slumbara tackles Meltam Perandus to the ground and searches his pockets
Slumbara: Detective Slumbara performing a stop-and-frisk
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 26]
Rhiveth laughs at the amusement factor of what is going on.
Slumbara: It's a legitimate policing tactic
Kazemi (Volmalric): Did Meltam regrow his hand or is he still unhanded?
Skittles adorably raises one eyebrow.
Feneril (Slumbara): I also have his hand
Meltam has his hand back, Slumbara has a "copy" in his backpack.
GM: Yes, "copy" was in quotes for a reason.
Meltam Perandus: I almost feel a tinge of amnesia. We killed Guto and Arqiite, who theoretically were following a map here....and that map was probabl purloined from the spoils between two warring mages.....
Meltam Perandus: But where does that put us?
Slumbara: We met the nice princess lady who somehow cured you of all your magical STDs
Rhiveth: that puts you in my tomb, where I am unable to leave, so I need you to collect some items for me, that we might stop the return of an Acheronian mage released by...misfortune.
Meltam Perandus: Aye aye!
Slumbara: Does "misfortune" mean meltam did it?
Rhiveth: Yes
Slumbara: Slumbara is wise
Rhiveth: But he had help, so it is not ALL his fault.
Meltam Perandus seems unusually cooperative, as if a professional and dutiful fighter.
Rhiveth: And yes, in life I was a princess of Lemuria and fought the Giant Kings and Serpent folk in the time of Atlantis.
Meltam Perandus: Lore 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 21]
Volmalric: I'm sure that after seeing the light of Mitra, Meltam will prove himself and correct his misdeeds.
Skittles begins rolling on the bier, clutching his stomach and evidently doing feline belly-laughs.
Volmalric: Lore 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 29]
Meltam Perandus: Somedays I feel like the Serpent folk are still among us.
Slumbara: I am not so sure, Meltam is still under arrest
Slumbara: If he behaves himself very, very well Slumbara may deecide not to turn him in to the proper authorities to be punished for his crimes
Arqiite: Acrobatics, Stealth Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 16]
GM: Everyone roll Observation.
Volmalric: And Argiite as well has a chance to earn redemption in Mitra's glory!
Meltam Perandus: Observation 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 26]
Volmalric: Observation Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 35]
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 22]
Feneril (Slumbara): We are the best adventurers
Meltam Perandus stands around awestruck at the recent juxtaposition of his fortunes and loyalties.
Slumbara is keeping his eyes on Meltam
Volmalric looks around to see if Arqiite is inspired, but notices that he is nowhere to be seen.
Volmalric frowns, letting out a disappointed sound
Meltam Perandus busily reads the 'Hyborian Scouts Guide' and plans which merit badges to pursue next.
Meltam Perandus: What relic shall we pursue?
Rhiveth: To start with, I believe there is a tome in, I believe the city of Messantia.
Volmalric: I think we'll want to go out and look for Arqiite. To make sure he's okay, of course.
Skittles looks at Meltalm like, "Did you get married and settled down, because you are super boring now!"
Volmalric: Which relics do we need to gather?
Slumbara notices after Volmalric's comment that Arqiite is gone
Slumbara: Meltam, your conspirator slipped away while you distracted us
Slumbara: Where has he gone
Meltam Perandus: Arqiite will surely take his experienecs as a lesson, returning to live a virtuous life, for he has seen the end of treachery!
Volmalric: Lore 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 18]
Slumbara: Slumbara has not seen the end of treachery, you are standing right there
Meltam Perandus: Though I must carry my past with me, I am a changed man!
Meltam Perandus: Persuade 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 15]
Volmalric: Also, I suspect Arqiite is going to cause problems if he is out there on his own, but I'd like to have a decent idea on where to go after we collect him again.
Slumbara: Discipline 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 22]
Meltam Perandus: One scofflaw can only do so much damage, I presume this tome has far more potential.
Rhiveth: You are looking for a vellum scroll bearing the mark of Skelos, it was probably buried in the catacombs under the city.
Meltam Perandus: Lore 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Rhiveth: Of course, if you find multiple ones, feel free to bring all of them.
Volmalric: Lore 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 27]
Slumbara reluctantly takes Meltam at his word and looks for clues to where Arqiite might have gon7e
Slumbara: Survival 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 24]
Volmalric: What exactly is a Skelos?
Meltam Perandus: Skelos' Gimmick?
Slumbara: Ok friends, we should get out of here before Arqiite gets too far
Meltam Perandus: We should let him be.
Meltam Perandus: Persuade 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Slumbara: If we make good time, Slumbara can take his head, and then on to Messantia
Slumbara: Discipline 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 15]
Slumbara: You would think that wouldn't you
Slumbara: But Detective Slumbara must always get his man
Slumbara: One last thing before we go
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 9]
Slumbara chops off Guto's head and ties it to his pack
Volmalric: Rhiveth, should we be closing off the tomb as we leave, or otherwise concealing the entrance? Or will your magics take care of that?
Rhiveth: It would be nice if you could close the tomb. I don't know if those pesky traveling salesmen are still a problem in this century, but they can be so tedious.
Rhiveth: I shall keep an eye on you from a far, although my ability to influence events outside this tomb is currently quite limited.
Slumbara: Don't worry, Slumbara is good at influencing events
Slumbara: Mainly by showing up and killing people
Meltam Perandus Saltues, and gathers materials to make a convincing facade.
Meltam Perandus: Survival Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 19]
Tack (Meltam Perandus): (dirt, shrubs, whatever ya know?)
Volmalric: So, let's go find Arqiite, seal up the tomb properly, and then head forth to Messantia.
Volmalric: Do you know anything of the tomb we're to find the scrolls in?
Slumbara successfully rolls the tomb cover back into place.
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 21]
Rhiveth: I would imagine it is protected by traps, and possibly infested by ghouls.
Rhiveth: Hopefully it is not flooded and underwater, that would be troubling, plus it is bad for vellum.
Rhiveth looks petulant.
Rhiveth: Hmm...I shall do some crying later and see if I can find something helpful.
Meltam Perandus: I.e. what plants
Volmalric smiles politely
Meltam Perandus: Intelligence - 8 Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 29]
Volmalric: It is most helpful that you were able to provide the name of the city itself. We should be able to manage it from here, Lady Rhiveth.
Volmalric heads out to the surface again
GM: Using atheltics to roll the boulder back in place?
Slumbara: Athletics 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 21]
Slumbara seals the cave and mounts his horse
Slumbara: Arqiite went off on foot that way
Slumbara points
Meltam Perandus: Hey Mitra-Man, Volmaric?
Volmalric: Yes?
Meltam Perandus: Can you do some last rights and burial for all these mooks strewn about care of our battle outside the tomb?
Meltam Perandus: preferably a good deal away from this tomb. It would lower the property value.
Slumbara rides off after Arqiite at best speed, leaving Volmalric and Meltam to keep up as best they can
Slumbara: Animal Handling 4EXP/4FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 13]
Slumbara: Survival 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 32]
Volmalric: I, ah, I can say a few words and offer a prayer for them
Slumbara heads off at a gallop, masterfully avoiding the trees of the forest in prsuit of Arqiite.
Meltam Perandus: Brawn - 9 Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 32]
Volmalric helps with moving the bodies away from the tomb, and concealing the ruckus that happened there
Volmalric: Brawn - 8 Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 18]
Arqiite: Egads! The cannibalistic berserker Kushite is chasing me!
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 33]
Arqiite tries to run into denser undergrowth to avoid detection.
Arqiite: Acrobatics, Stealth Successes = 0 Complications = 2 [2d20 = 40]
GM: HAHAHAHA
Tack (Meltam Perandus): Twilight-Zone level surprises care of the dice.
GM: Arqiite rolled a 40!
Arqiite tries to hide from Slumbara by standing in a wide open clearing and waving his arms around.
Arqiite: YOU WILL NEVER SEE ME OR HEAR ME WHEN I AM RIGHT HERE!
Volmalric: Mmmm, I think I should head back to town and get our donkeys back as well. Do you want to wait here just in case Slumbara gets back before me?
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 12]
Slumbara: Aha you fool! Detective Slumbara has outsmarted you!
Slumbara charges at Arqiite and swings at him from horseback
Arqiite closes his eyes.
Slumbara: Animal Handling 4EXP/4FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 18]
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 21]
Meltam Perandus: We should stick together, these wilds know no mercy, Friend Volmaric.
Arqiite: You can't see me because I can't see you!
Volmalric: True
Volmalric: But the townsfolk would kill you on sight
Meltam Perandus: Oh.
Slumbara: Broadsword: (Reach 2-Parry 1-UNB-5D): [7d6 = 22]
Meltam Perandus: Um.
Arqiite: [TABLE] Hit Location Table = [1d20 = 5]
Right Arm
Meltam Perandus: That i....you are a smart person.
Meltam Perandus: I will stay on the outskirts of town.
Slumbara: [2d6 = 2]
Kazemi (Volmalric): For the record, I'd have brought you with me if you hadn't obviously just become a righteous man living in Mitra's light :D
Arqiite has his right arm chopped as Slumbara skilfully rides by.
Arqiite: OUCH! That hurt! How ever could you see me?
Slumbara: Slumbara is the world's greatest detective
Arqiite drops to the ground in shock and proceeds to begin bleeding out.
Slumbara heals Arqiite so he can deliver the finishing blow by chopping off his head instead
Slumbara: Healing 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 14]
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 15]

Slumbara stems the bleeding from Arqiite's arm before chopping off his head and tying it to together with Guto's
Meltam Perandus: Stealth 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 34]
Slumbara retraces his tracks back to Volmalric and Meltam
Slumbara: Survival 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 14]
Everyone regroups outside Rhiveth's tomb.
Volmalric looks a bit gaunt, having just moved several bodies
Slumbara: Detective Slumbara has solved the case
Volmalric: Excellent job, detective!
Slumbara holds up Guto and Arqiite's heads
Meltam Perandus: You two should probably leave me far way from town, and collect your bounties, etc.
Volmalric: I think we should head back to town here and collect up our gear
Slumbara: Slubara will accompany you
Slumbara: Slumbara is in a good mood, Slumbara will not kill Meltam today after all
Slumbara: As long as he behaves
Meltam Perandus: Thievery 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 21]
Slumbara: Before we go back though...\
Slumbara takes out a length of rope and ties meltam up to a tree
Meltam Perandus: What are you doing?
Slumbara: So you don't run off
Meltam Perandus: Um, that is a daffy idea.
Volmalric: I don't know
Meltam Perandus: Acrobatics Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 4]
Volmalric: We trusted Arqiite and he ran off
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 22]
Meltam Perandus: Ill be OK.
Meltam Perandus: but we should be quick. Undoutedtly, whatever hand moved those two has more hired goons looking for the scrolls.
Meltam Perandus: Observation 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 31]
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 27]

Slumbara: Discipline 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Slumbara: Hmm, Slumbara is not happy about it, but ok
Slumbara puts his rope away
Slumbara: Ok, Volmalric lets go back to town and get your things
Slumbara: Slumbara will accompany you to protect you
Strangely, no horrible things happen to anyone while Slumbara and Volmalric return to Tarooca.
Count Duro is waiting at the gates with several soldiers.
Count Duro: Well met, did you find that vile child murdering monster and put him to justice?
Slumbara: I brought you his hand
Slumbara hands count duro Meltam's hand
Volmalric considers Meltam's recent celestial purging, including the several demons that he spewed up
Volmalric: Yes.
Slumbara: And then Slumbara kicked him into a magical forcefield and he spewed black goo
Slumbara: It was really funny
Slumbara laughs
Slumbara: We are pretty sure we vanquished all the evil
Count Duro: That's what I like to hear! Thanks!
Count Duro: Let's put that hand in brine and celebrate with some good drinking and wenching!
Slumbara: Slumbara likes drinking and wenching
Count Duro: Drinks are wenches are on me!
Slumbara cheers
Meltam Perandus finds peace and solace in nature.
Slumbara finds peace and solace in drinking and wenching
Count Duro: Come friend cannibal Kushite barbarian, let's enjoy the fruits of "civilization" by engaging in violent acts against subservient people!
Slumbara: Wait, Slumbara was expecting a different sort of wenching
Count Duro: What?
Volmalric raises an eyebrow
Slumbara: How violent are these acts?
Count Duro: Well, I presonally prefer yanking on hair while they scream my name. What were you thinking?
Slumbara: Slumbara is ok with paddles, gags, ropes, chains, some fire, a little bit of blood, whips, cat-o-nine-tails, riding crops...
Count Duro: Oh yeah! A man after my own heart!
Volmalric slides back away from the table
Slumbara: In a manner of speaking. Let's go friend
Count Duro leads Slumbara off to the Brothel.
Volmalric: Insight Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 6]
Slumbara: Persuade 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 6]
Innkeeper: Hello friend of lecherous Kushite barbarian, how can I help you?
Volmalric: Good afternoon! I was wondering if there might be recommendations for restocking on herbs and medicines?
Innkeeper: Yes, I recommend Frebble the Herbalist, he is two rows over, the nice smelling house.
Volmalric: Excellent, thank you very much, kind sir!
Volmalric heads over to Frebble's house, checking on his pack mule before heading in
Volmalric: Observation Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 22]
Volmalric walks over to Frebble's house, it is a nice single level place, overflowing with plants, and the roof has a flat top with another entire greenhouse above it.
Volmalric: Hello?
The front door is open, revealing a nice, quaint interior.
Volmalric steps inside to the fine looking establishment, about which there is definitely nothing wrong
Meltam Perandus: Craft 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 19]
Frebble is a wizened, wrinkled old man with stray tufts of grey hair sticking out at weird angles. He has the whitest, pearliest, nicest looking teeth you have ever seen on someone over the age of 5.
Frebble: Hello there!
Volmalric: I was looking for some herbs and mixtures to restock, and was told your fine establishment is the place to find such things.
Volmalric smiles warmly, pleased at what a nice and well-kept facility this appears to be given the locale
Frebble: Ah yes! I am happy to help you with that. Do you have a list?
Volmalric: Ah, yes, one moment
Volmalric pulls out a scrap of paper he'd had in his pocket after cleaning up his supplies the other day
Count Duro: YEE HAH! That's the spot! Right there! Woohoo!
Frebble laughs.
Feneril (Slumbara): AFK a sec, Newt is crying
Kazemi (Volmalric): Newt noooo
Frebble: Oh, I see someone is enjoying thsemlves.
Frebble looks at the list, reading it very carefully.
Frebble: Do you want this one with, or without, garters?
Frebble points at an item on the list.
Volmalric: Garters?
Kazemi (Volmalric): Are we in the same building as Count Duro?
GM: No, you are not.
Tack (Meltam Perandus): awww
Volmalric: Let me take a look
Feneril (Slumbara): I am back, she just needed a little comforting to fall back asleep
GM: Yay Newt!
Volmalric narrows his eyes suspiciously as he takes the list back
Volmalric: Survival 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 27]
Feneril (Slumbara): Did Volmalric catch illiteracy from Slumbara ?
Volmalric: And you are Freeble, yes? The herbalist?
Frebble: Yes, of course I am, whoever else would I be?
Frebble smiles REALLY REALLY WIDELY. You are almost blinded by his shiny white teeth.
Volmalric: I merely ask as a curiosity, because you were holding my list upside down
Volmalric holds up the list to block his teeth from view
Frebble: Well, if you wrote in a language that civilized people used, this wouldn't be a problem.
Feneril (Slumbara): Do you want some Aloe for that burn Volmalric ?
Volmalric: Ah! I apologize for the confusion. Let me go over these with you here.
Volmalric: I can point out many of them as well
Volmalric goes over the list verbally
Frebble finds everything Volmalric is looking for.
Frebble: That will be 2 Gold.
Volmalric is using a Hero Point
Volmalric: Society 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 17]
Frebble: Hmm...2 Gold is a bit steep, perhaps you would be interested in...merely running a small errand for me instead? You don't even need to leave town.
Volmalric narrows his eyes suspiciously
Volmalric: What sort of errand?
Frebble: Well, your friend who went berserk and killed the child in the street...if you could collect the dead child's teeth from the undertaker and bring them over, that would be swell. He should have them in a brine jar.
Volmalric raises his eyebrows
Volmalric: I'd rather respect the recently deceased, if it's all the same. I'm well aware that these shouldn't cost more than half a gold, and you're lucky to get that much. Would that work instead?
Frebble: Oh, I suppose.
Volmalric hands over the gold and gathers the materials, making sure they're all in proper order
GM: You successfully restock your herbalist supplies.
Some time later...you all regroup outside of town and need to figure out how to get to Messantia.
Slumbara reminds Volmalric and Meltam that he bought them donkeys previously
Volmalric has both his donkey and pack mule with him
Meltam Perandus: Society 4EXP/4FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 9]
Slumbara: Let us gather supplies and ride for Messantia
Feneril (Slumbara): We don't need a map, we have Slumbara to navigate
Meltam Perandus: Slumbara, you are an exemplar of Kushite generosity!
Slumbara: Yes, Slumbara is a giver, just ask Count Duro
Meltam Perandus: I do happen to have a collection of maps, let me take a quick look at them and see if one shows a locaiton near Messantia
Count Duro is currently passed out with a smile on his face and snoring blissfully.
Meltam Perandus: Intelligence - 8 Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 6]
Slumbara takes stock of the group's supplies and buys anything they will need before leaving town
Slumbara: Survival 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 4]
Slumbara: how much will it cost for slumbara to stock up before heading out?
GM: You successfully manage to re-stock AND figure that it will be WAY faster to get there by boat. Providing of course you pass the Pirate Isles without getting press-ganged into joining a -pirate crew or the Zingaran Navy.
Slumbara: Slumbara recokns we should sail, Slumbara is an expert at sailing
Slumbara: As you all remember
Tack (Meltam Perandus): Nonsense, I suggest we instead dig a tunnel to Khitai!
Feneril (Slumbara): Slumbara suggests we enslave the locals and make them carry us on a large plinth
Volmalric: Well, I say we take a trip across the seas and rivers, then. It can't be worse than the last trip I was on
Slumbara: Yes, Slumbara love sailing
GM: You locate a barge heading downriver to Kordava that looks willing to take on passengers in exchange for money and armed protection from river pirates.
Kazemi (Volmalric): One day, I'm going to play an Evil character who does that
Meltam Perandus: Society 4EXP/4FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 19]
Meltam Perandus: Hail proud-river folk! We seek passage!
River Captain: Hail there, we are happy to take you in exchange for money!
River Captain: And if you have to help defend us on the way to Kordava, you will get your money back and can keep the loot of anyone you kill!
Slumbara: Slumbara is very good at defending
Volmalric: That sounds like a pretty reasonable offer
Slumbara: And looting corpses
River Captain: I aim to be a reasonable man!
Meltam Perandus: I suggest that slumbara take up a musical instrument on this trip.
Volmalric: Good find on the pic, by the way
Slumbara: Would you like to see my collection of heads?
River Captain: Well, I'm a bit squeamish about heads, you can keep them to yourself.
Slumbara: What instrument did you have in mind?
Slumbara: Slumbara has an excellent voice
River Captain: I have a spare tuba, if you would like to practice that.
Slumbara: Gladly
River Captain hands Slumbara a tuba.
Slumbara works on his tuba skills during the journey
Feneril (Slumbara): What do I roll for tuba? Agility?
Feneril (Slumbara): Or is persuasion used as performance in these rules
Volmalric: Discipline 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 30]
Volmalric slowly goes mad
Slumbara: Persuade 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 24]
Kazemi (Volmalric): Slumbara gets stuck in the Tuba
Slumbara: (LINK)

Slumbara attempts to start with something easy to play, like "William Tells' 1812 Overture" from memory.
River Captain: EGADS! What have I done!
Slumbara is keeping this tuba
Dozens of dead fish float to the surface.
Slumbara effortless transitions into playing Les Toreadors after he finishes mastering hte 1812 Overture
Volmalric points at Slumbara
Feneril (Slumbara): how much does a tuba weight in my inventory?
Several members of the barge crew wrap cloths around their ears to try and keep the sound out.
Meltam Perandus' face is full of smug satisfaction, appreciating the Kushite monster now unleashed, for now we have a creature strong enough to challenge the minions of Ahanu.
The water around the barge begins bubbling.
Volmalric: Slumbara
Volmalric: Would you like something to eat?
Sorcery check for everyone who has the skill.

Slumbara: Persuade 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 21]
Volmalric and Meltalm notice the bubbling water seems to be caused by thousand of fish who have SHARP POINTY teeth.
Feneril (Slumbara): And yes I know that the four seasons is for the strings, but other than Les Toreadores how many classics are written for the tuba?
Meltam Perandus tosses in several savory forest vegetables, harvested when the party was in town.
Slumbara continues to play the tuba, inspiring waves of fish to swirl around the and feels the barge lurch, clearly because even the inanimate wood appreciates his music.
Meltam Perandus: These fish will be no trouble, they are just hungry this time of year.
River Captain: Those fish aren't even NATIVE to this place! What are those things?
Volmalric: Slumbara, I think you could stop
Feneril (Slumbara): Roll persuade bitch

Slumbara: Discipline 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 27]
Volmalric: We could have some alcohol
Volmalric: Tell some stories of what amazing adventures we've had
Slumbara: Slumbara does love alchohol
River Captain: Because then he will play *better*?
Slumbara ties his tuba to his backpack and goes to have a drink with Volmalric
The bubbling in the water subsides.

Meltam Perandus cuts himself, bleeds on a towel, then flings it upstream about 100' or so. The water where the towel lands froths and bubbles vigorously until you head downstream and around a bend.

The barge arrives in Kordava. The barge crew and captain seem to be quite happy to have you disembark as quickly as possible.
River Captain: Thanks all! Travel safe! BYE BYE!
Volmalric: We'll see you next time!
River Captain pulls up the plank as fast as possible.
Slumbara: Thank you for the tuba
Slumbara: Slumbara loves the tuba
Meltam Perandus: Yeah, it's tubad he probably won't see you when you have mastered it.
Meltam Perandus: You've got real talent!
You are are on the Kordavan docks, there are a large number of ships in the area, as this is a major ocean going port.
Volmalric: A strange form of talent, at least

The docks are bustling with people and cargo moving around quickly. Numerous people bump into you while you try to get your bearings.
GM: Observation checks
Meltam Perandus: Volmaric, had you some common sense you'd have saved your coin for here, as there is probably more variety and cheaper goods

Doomsayer: AND LO THE END TIMES ARE COME! For the inflation on herbs throughout Kordava is insane! Everything is marked up 400%!
Feneril (Slumbara): Dude sounds like my high school weed dealer
Volmalric gestures towards the Doomsayer
Doomsayer: This is clearly the result of the machinations of evil demonic entities from Aquilonia!
Feneril (Slumbara): Always making excuses why the dime bags were smaller every month

Doomsayer points menacingly at Volmalric.
Slumbara: Well we have been on a boat, he couldn't bathe
Slumbara: Normally he doesn't smell quite as bad
Meltam grabs a group of kids who had successfully pickpocketed Slumbara and Volmalric and were about to grab something of his.
Doomsayer: FIE! you Aquilonian dog! You consort with a cannibal from Kush!
Volmalric shoots his gaze towards the children.
Volmalric: Drop what you stole right this instant. '
Meltam Perandus: Upon noticing they are but children, I shall only chide and give them a lesson.

Slumbara: Slavery is bad Meltam
Drunk Sailor: Oy! That mate is trying that little girl up just like I saw a man do to a hooker.
Slumbara: Unless you are enslaving your phoes that you defeated in battle
Drunk Sailor: I'll pay 2 gold for the trussed girl!
Non-Drunk Sailor shanks the drunk guy.
Slumbara: No my friend, I was just explaining to my friend that slavery is bad
Drunk Sailor gurgle.
Non-Drunk Sailor: KILL THEM!
Slumbara: No, they are only children
Doomsayer: That's what I have been saying!

Hooded Man: Then you need to protect your stuff better! Finders keepers and all that!
Merchant: Your master, Kushite cannibal!
Volmalric keeps a very close eye on his pack mule

Slumbara springs forward, grabs the Doomsayer by the neck and throws him into the Merchant, unfortunately he aims a little high and they succeed in smashing into each other head first, snapping each other's necks. Slumbara might notice this later, right now he is too busy bullrushing the sailor, who flies backwards towards the docks just as an out of control ship smashes into the planking near everyone and sends several casks of wine plummeting off the deck and on to the docks. A few people (including the hapless sailor) are crushed by the splintered wood and flying barrels. Others immediately turn into a free-for-all brawl for the fine wine that is now sloshing around the docks.
Hooded Man: Yep, I got nothing.
Volmalric looks on in horror

Hooded Man: So, what brings you to Kordava?
Slumbara: I am a travelling master of the Tuba
Slumbara: would you like to hear?
Hooded Man: Not right now, but definitely later.
Volmalric: Of what concern is it of yours, mysterious hooded man?
Meltam Perandus: Linguistics Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 8]

Volmalric: Shall we discuss it over a meal?
Hooded Man: Excellent, I am pleased to meet your acquiaintance.
Hooded Man: Yes, over a meal sounds quite good.
Slumbara: First things first though
Meltam Perandus: Sounds pleasant.
Slumbara unties the kids and gives them a stern talking to

Children hang on Sluimbara's every word and take them to heart, forming a brutal gang that murders drunks and vagrants throughout the docks district of Kordava.
Hooded Man: Why do I get the feeling things happen around you that are not...necessarily intended?
Slumbara: Because Slumbara is a force of nature
Slumbara: That is what my mother used to say
Hooded Man: I'm sure your mother was very wise.
Meltam Perandus: Observation 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 14]
Slumbara: Yes, very wise, just like Slumbara
Hooded Man: Well, shall we have lunch and discuss business then?
Meltam Perandus: Very good all, may I suggest that place up ahead?
Hooded Man: Excellent, I am familiar with that place, it is quite good.
Volmalric: Are you from around here then?
Hooded Man walks into the Hunter's Feast restaurant.
Hooded Man: No, but I pass through often.
Waitress: Hello all.
Waitress bows very deeply to Hooded Man.
Waitress: Can I get your cloak ma'am?
Hooded Man: Yes.
Delia takes off cloak and hands it to waitress.
Delia: I'm Delia, pleased to meet you all.
Slumbara: I am Slumbara, I may have mentioned that before
Delia gestures to a nearby table, which is immediately cleaned and prepared for the four of you.
Delia: You did sir.
Waitress: The usual, your ladyship?
Delia: Yes, plus whatever beverages these gentlemen will have.
Volmalric: I'll have an ale
Meltam Perandus: I trust Delia's judgement, whatever she is having.
Slumbara: I'll have one of whatever everyone else has
Delia: So, short and too the point, the pirates are getting - dangerous - right now. I have some valuable cargo that I need to transport to Messantia. I would like to hire you as bodyguards for myself and the cargo.
Slumbara: I hope there's nothing illegal in it...

Meltam Perandus: Your request is reasonable as your disguise in this nest of vipers. This sounds like an excellent opportunity.
Slumbara: Just kidding, Slumbara doesn't care
Slumbara laughs
Delia: No, nothing illegal, merely a tome a friend of mine asked me to acquire,
Volmalric kicks Meltam under the table
Meltam Perandus: Pirates? After books?
Delia: Pirates will loot anything that looks to be of value.
Slumbara: Books are of no value to Slumbara
Slumbara: But Slumbara will protect your book
Slumbara: Gold is of value to Slumbara
Delia: then we leave on the tide, if you are all ready.
Slumbara: And we are going to Messantia anyways
Volmalric: We've got no reason to linger here
Delia: Really? How convenient.
Volmalric: If I may ask, what sort of tome are you willing to pay 15 gold just for extra protection while traveling?
Meltam Perandus: It's really tubad we have to leave so soom, Slumbara was hoping to play a few sets here.
Feneril (Slumbara): ba du tsh
Delia: The tome is worth much to a friend of mine, I'm merely ensuring its delivery. It is worth a contract to me, it is worth a great deal to him.
Meltam Perandus: Society 4EXP/4FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 31]
Slumbara: It doesn't happen to have Skelletor on it does it?
Meltam Perandus: Please excuse my friend here, he is merely overly curious.
Slumbara: We're looking for a book about Skelletor or something
Slumbara: I think it may be a He Man comic
Delia shrugs.
Slumbara: I can't remember
Delia: I know not of this thing you speak of.
Delia: Do you mean Skelos?
Volmalric: It would be quite a find, to have a book from Skellos himself
Slumbara: I don't know, I am pretty sure someone said Skelletor
Delia: I doubt it is anything to do with him, but I dabble not in such things.
Meltam Perandus: Tis nice to find someone so sane in this world,
Meltam Perandus: An uncommon experience!
