The group wakes up the next morning, the sun is bright and clear. Slumbara and Volmalric are still waiting on their respective friendly shopkeepers for stuff. Slumbara has debauched the Hell out of the Groupies to the point where many of them are barely capable of walking. Meltam wakes up curled up on a window sill. Volmalric rises early in the morning, thinking Mitra thoughts,
Bridgit is super cheerful, like normal.
Bridgit: Good morning Volmalric, you are up early today, can I get you something?
Slumbara: Slumbara would like a pint of raw eggs
It is about an hour until Sigurd and Asgrim show up and you go off in search of the secret tomb on the map.

Bridgit prepares a pint-sized Prairie Oyster for Slumbara, some tea and cod for Volmalric, and a saucer of milk for Meltam.
Bridgit: Anything else I can get you fine gentlemen?
Meltam rolls an Observation test:
Target: 12 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.15+1d20.2 = 17]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Sophie stomps in looking irritated.
Sophie: Sister, we need to talk.
Volmalric: Uh oh
Bridgit: Sure.
Sophie grabs Bridgit by the ear and drags her into the kitchen out of hearing.
Town Guard walks into the building.
Imposing Looking Officer: You three, were you here last night?
Slumbara: Of course, Slumbara was with many groupies
A heavily armed patrol walks in, you spot several other armed patrols through the windows of the inn checking things out and investigating the area.
Imposing Looking Officer: Ah, you are the tuba player I have heard of then? Are these your bodyguards?
Town Guard gestures at Volmalric and Meltam.
Volmalric sips his ale and lets Slumbara speak
Slumbara: Volmalric is more like a spiritual advisor, and Meltam is a pet
Town Guard laughs.
Meltam rolls a Discipline test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.10+1d20.5 = 15]
You did succeed!
Imposing Looking Officer: Fair enough.
Meltam grins and does not lash out
Bridgit runs back out to the common room.
Bridgit: Hello officer Barakus, how can I help you?
Tack (Meltam): Just don't bust out any Yarn balls or flashy toys.
Slumbara used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Officer Barakus has a series of gold chains around his neck, thick black mohawk, and is a ferocious looking Kushite.
Officer Barakus: There was a gruesome murder at the Red Moon Inn, something too horrible for your ears, but I pity the fool who did it. When I find them, you will pity the fool who did it.
Meltam (whispers to Volmalric: id' be careful, he probably has a bad additude)
Slumbara: Indeed, Slumbara does not suffer fools
Officer Barakus: I know this non-Darfari Kushite here, being a great tuba player, was not involved, so I might ask for help finding the murderer if you have time.
Slumbara: Perhaps Slumbara can assist your investigation, Detective Slumbara has caused.. er, solved many murders
Officer Barakus: These Argosseans are weak-willed when it comes to this kkind of thing.
Slumbara laughs
Officer Barakus flexes, gold chains rattle.
Town Guard does look a bit greenish thinking about the murder.
Meltam is awestruck by someone who can walk the streets sporting that bling
Bridgit: Oh my! If there is anything I can do to help let me know.
Slumbara flexes with Officer Barakus
Slumbara rolls an Athletics test:
Target: 14 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.20 = 20]

Officer Barakus pities the fool who would try to steal his bling.

Feneril:

Slumbara clumsily punches himself in the face while trying to flex to impress Officer Barakus
Meltam rolls a Discipline test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.16+1d20.3 = 19]
You did succeed!
Town Guard: I could use a beer.
Officer Barakus: Not while you are on duty.
Town Guard: But I lost my breakfast when we went to the room with the corpse.
Officer Barakus: Soft stomach needs emptiness to gain strength.
Slumbara: So officer, who was murdered?
Officer Barakus grins viciously at town guard.
Feneril (Slumbara): was it by any chance two viking looking dudes
Officer Barakus: Bridgit, if you would give us a minute.
Bridgit: Sure, I'll go get some snacks for your men.
Bridgit leaves.
Officer Barakus: All you queasy ass Argosseans leave, the Kushite and I have adult talk.
Meltam: Sure.
Town Guard backs out of the room.
Slumbara sweats under the collar a bit at the thought of adult talk with the big, strong Officer Barakus
Tack (Meltam): I'm British!
Tack (Meltam): AngloSaxanWelshthing
Tack (Meltam): If i'd rollled rather than RNG'ed a character, I'd have done Poitain Knight. XD
Officer Barakus: So, there was a visitor from out of town found in his room in the Red Moon Inn. He was found with his pants around his ankles, his manhood removed, and a look of pure horror on his face. There was a lot of blood, and based on what I determined from the corpse, it was ripped off by something with small but very sharp claws.
Volmalric: That sounds rather unfortunate
Officer Barakus: Indeed, there are worse ways to go, I pity the fool - fool being the dead man in this case.
Volmalric (whisper to Meltam): I told you
Meltam (whisper to Volmalric ): Okay you were right
Volmalric: I presume this is unheard of?
Officer Barakus: Or perhaps not sharp claws, but whatever it was, it was really horrible.
Meltam rolls an Observation test:
Target: 12 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [2d20.4 = 8]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Slumbara: Detective Slumbara is on the case
Officer Barakus: Yes, such murders are unheard of.
Slumbara: Volmalric, cat, come with me
Officer Barakus: Excellent, I knew a Kushite would not let me down.
Bridgit: I have food, is it okay for me to bring it in?
Officer Barakus: Sure, detective police work is difficult and requires a full stomach.
Bridgit brings in some travel bags full of food for people.
Slumbara downs his pint of eggs before leaving
Volmalric washes down the last of his breakfast as well
It is about 45 minutes before Sigurd and Asgrim show up.
Volmalric: Hey, Slumbara, do you know how many sides an average person has?
Slumbara: Bridgit, if those tiny white boys from yesterday show up while we are gone, tell them to come meet us at the Blood Red Penis... Or whatever it was called
Bridgit: Red Moon Inn? Sure.
Meltam Follows without drawing attention.
Meltam rolls a Stealth test:
Target: 14 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.11+1d20.5 = 16]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Bridgit: I will leave a note. I have to hose down and desanitize your room from last night. I've stored up three Fortune Points, one for Discipline, one for Resistance, and one for Craft (Cleaning).
GM: The GM might spend Doom on her behalf, we cannot have the unsullied NPCs corrupted by Slumbara's antics.
Volmalric: A true hero
Sophie: Spend the Doom to have her catch an STD.
Bridgit: Hey! Sister, that is rude.
Tack (Meltam): In before Mr. Clean makes an appearance, augmenting our already nascent muscle competition.
Sophie: Oh come on, like we couldn't get it fixed at a temple.
Bridgit: This is not DnD, land of "instant remove disease at every temple you come across"
Sophie: Oh, yeah, never mind. I retract my suggestion. Spend Doom to have Slumbara develop Ennui towards sex.
Officer Barakus: Right, enough of that banter, we have a murderer to catch.
Officer Barakus leads the group over to the Red Moon Inn.
GM: What investigation would you like to perform?
Volmalric: I'll check into the records that the owners have with the victims
Slumbara checks whether the victim is someone they know, since the last one was
Slumbara rolls an Observation test:

The victim is not anyone that Slumbara recognizes. The victim was a Stygian cloth merchant who arrived two days ago on a vessel from Stygia and was staying at the inn while conducting business with some dye makers who work in the merchant district outside the city walls.
Meltam rolls an Observation test:
Target: 12 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.1+1d20.7 = 8]

Volmalric: It looks like he's dyed for the last time
GM: His name is Mel-Alahd
Slumbara investigates the crime scene to see if it looks the same as the victim on the ship
Slumbara rolls an Observation test:

The injuries on the victim are consistent with the death of sailor #8 in every detail that Slumbara can remember based on that die result.
Slumbara: So the mysterious penis thief strikes again
Slumbara: Meltam, ask around at the port and find out if the Gal's Breast is still in port.
Slumbara: Whoever the killer is must have been hiding amongst the crew
Volmalric: Gull's Nest
Slumbara: whatever
Meltam: Okay, Sure thing Slumbara.
Meltam rolls a Society test:
Target: 11 Focus: 4 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.14+1d20.16 = 30]

Slumbara: If the ship is still in port, we will have to figure out who was away from the ship last night
Volmalric: The Harbor Master's Hall would have the information
Volmalric: We can narrow it down pretty quickly
Meltam learns all about which vendor has the best prices on oriental rug.
Volmalric: Slumbara, we'll go check out the logs
Slumbara: Lead on, Slumbara will leave the rumaging through books to you
Slumbara: Unless they have pictures
Volmalric: Can you ask around here and see who was visiting our merchant?
Volmalric: If he came back late last night with a guest, you may be able to get a good description
Volmalric: Meltam, did you want to come with or stay here?
Slumbara questions the staff as to what they saw last night
Meltam: I can't tell you anything about this grisly murder, but I can tell you that we should invest in a sea-side timeshare property on the Argossian coast!
Slumbara rolls a Society test:
Target: 8 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.18+1d20.9 = 27]
You did not succeed.
The staff reports nothing unusual happened last night, it was a pretty quiet and peaceful evening, except that the Whisper Wood Inn had some loud-ass horrible tuba player keeping people up way too late and they are filing a noise complaint against them.
Volmalric used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Volmalric rolls a Society test:

The staff relents on their protests of the tuba playing and agrees that maybe it was not all bad, the Kushite is very wise. Also, they will not anger a Kushite when Officer Barakus is standing there, because they like their teeth.
Slumbara rolls an Observation test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.20+1d20.8 = 28]
You did succeed!
Volmalric gets to the Harbor Masters Hall, and after several hours of filling out forms, greasing palms, waiting in line, filling out the correct forms, being pickpocketed by the security guards, developing diarrhea from something he ate, filling out forms again because he had to use the last ones for toilet paper, and almost getting arrested by the town guard for defecting in the wrong spot... he gets the information he seeks.
Meltam rolls a Society test:

Later in the day, two wagons full of catnip are delivered to the Whisper Wood Inn.
Sigurd and Asgrim show up at the Red Moon Inn and see what Slumbara and Barakus are up to.
Meltam rolls a Society test:

Sigurd: By Ymir! How is it going good Kushites!
Slumbara: Slumbara was assisting investigating a murder while we waited for you
Slumbara: But Volmalric has been gone quite a while reading books
Captain Fingol: I can let you have it... for a price. I need something from a merchant who refuses to do business with me.
Slumbara: This is why Slumbara does not read books, takes too much time
Meltam: I will consider your offer, good captain!
Asgrim: Learning is horrible and books are the worst. The last time I read a book, I was assaulted by an angry Valkyrie who said I was not giving her enough attention.
Sigurd: I generally read with my pants on, that helps in my experience.
Volmalric: Always recommended, especially in a public building
Volmalric enters the inn with Meltam
Slumbara: Really, perhaps I should put on more pants and see if that helps
Volmalric: So, good news and bad news
Volmalric: Good news is that I got the info
Volmalric: Bad news is that he was pretty much a random victim, by the look of things
Everyone has gathered at the Red Moon Inn, which has been locked down by the Town Guard while they are investigating.
Sigurd and Asgrim are trying to keep the place in business by consuming alcohol and eating several meals.
Asgrim: Roasted Haunch! How delicious!
Sigurd: By Freya's Mighty Nipples, this is some damn good mead!
Meltam: Might I suggest we procure provisions and depart soon?
Slumbara: The killer must have come here on the Gal's Breast, because one of the sailers was also murdered in this way
Volmalric: I'd agree, how far out is our goal?
Meltam rolls an Insight test:
Target: 11 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.1+1d20.9 = 10]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Slumbara: Officer Barakus, we must depart to keep our word with these Asgardians
Meltam: I'd say it's exactly _____ Paces from town.
Meltam puts the number 8719.462 in the blank spot. Give or take one hundreths of a decimal point of precision.
Volmalric: Also, I'm glad to see you two again, Asgrim and Sigurd. I was afraid you got murdered last night
Officer Barakus: No problem, I shall continue to investigate. Take care good Kushite!
Slumbara: But I would search the sailors of the Gal's Breast, one of them must have 2 extra penises
Volmalric: Or more
Officer Barakus: I shall impound the ship and throw that bastard Fingol into prison!
Magistrate Corruptus sends Captain Fingol to White Collar prison where he is viciously guarded by harem girls.
Captain Fingol: It's not the crime, it's who you know!
Officer Barakus sighs.
Meltam (whisper to Volmalric): make sure you have everything you need to potentially break open a Crypt; pickaxe, chemicals, etc
Asgrim: Aye, we have pickaxes, shovels, and some alchemical blasting powder.
Slumbara nods to Meltam and packs his bag with mead
Meltam (Wisper to Volmalric): Also proper PPE for handling cursed items
Volmalric (Whisper to Meltam): Does Slumbara count?
Meltam: Excellent! A hearty toast to our venture!
Sigurd: Plus some of this whitish powder that was provided to us which supposedly burns underwater at a temperature far exceeding what should be possible.
Slumbara: So... You're saying I shouldn't snort it?
Volmalric: Hey hey hey! Don't leave that exposed to air!
Sigurd: Definitely not, it is supposedly water activated!
Asgrim: Let's go, I know the way!
Asgrim leaves the Red Moon inn.
Slumbara: Lead on
Slumbara follows Asgrim
Sigurd follows Asgrim.
Volmalric follows Asgrim
Sophie runs up to the group.
Sophie: So, I have this feeling you are heading out to the graveyard, and I need to collect some flora from there for ... things ... mind if I come with you?
Asgrim shrugs.
Meltam Follows, but will offer a course correction in the event of major error.
Sigurd is ambivalent.
Volmalric: If you'd like, though if you have a list I can grab it while we're out
Slumbara: Of course, you're the adventurous/murderous one
Sophie: No, I need some time away from this stuffy city and all the people.
Volmalric rolls an Insight test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.12+1d20.15 = 27]
You did not succeed.
Volmalric: Ah! By all means!
The group heads out through the city gates and north-northwest towards the graveyard. After passing through tightly clustered buildings crammed up against the city walls, the height and quantity of buildings decreases until you reach what would be considered the outskirts of town. It is now around 1430. The city graveyard looms in the distance, its boundaries marked by a rusted wood and iron fence with many gaps. It does not look incredibly well maintained. A town guard building stands nearby, it looks pretty heavily fortified. There is also a building for gravediggers and coffin makers, as well as sculptors and other people who make their business interring the dead.
The town guard look at the heavily armed group a bit suspiciously, but say nothing. The cemetery workers pay little attention once it is obvious you are not here to "drop off" work for them.
Sophie: Well guys, thanks for the walk, good luck out there.
Sophie heads off straight west, away from the city and the graveyard.
Meltam: Surely you do not want to return to the city alone?
Sophie turns around.
Sophie: Oh, sure, I'll be back in a few hours, if you are here when I get back I can head back with you.
Meltam: Works.
Meltam: Now...where specifically was that building I saw before....
Meltam rolls an Insight test:
Target: 11 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.10+1d20.13 = 23]
You did succeed!
Sophie: Or I can wait for a little bit, or listen for the sound of screaming, or follow my nose based on the scent of demonic sorcery, you know, whatever it is you are up to.
Sophie leaves.
Asgrim looks suspiciously at Meltam.
Sigurd is ambivalent.
Volmalric waves a hand dismissively
Volmalric: The screaming is always whatever is trying to fight us, rarely us
Meltam: Hrm? Everything looks different from 40 feet in the air. Give me just a moment to acclimate myself to this. Ah yes, it is an hour in this direction (Points enthusiastically)
Meltam: But the terrain will be rugged.
Sigurd follows Meltam.
Asgrim follows Meltam.
Meltam rolls an Athletics test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.20+1d20.9 = 29]
You did succeed!
Sigurd: I am in awe of your... sort of athletic prowess.
Volmalric rolls an Athletics test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.19+1d20.20 = 39]
You did not succeed.
Meltam bravely and energetically leads the group, picking what looks like a safe path. Somehow he and Volmalric manage to twist their ankles on the swampy muck like terrain, causing them to take an extra 30 minutes to reach the mausoleum and drawing snorts of derision from the Asgardians and Slumbara, who offers to carry the hapless men to safety, because they clearly have trouble walking.
Meltam: And here we are!
Volmalric: Whew, finally
It is now about 1600 and you are standing outside a very large and decrepit mausoleum on the north side of the graveyard. The stones are old, blackened, and do not look like they are from around here. The building does not match the rest of the tombs (which are mostly white or pink marble) or the gravestones (which are mostly cheaper stone). It is covered in strange glyphs that do not look very familiar to either of you.
Asgrim looks at map, compares location to hill markings.
Asgrim: Yes, this does look like the right spot.
Meltam rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 10 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.17+1d20.7 = 24]
You did succeed!
Sigurd: Now we just need to open the door and get valuables we saw in our dream.
Volmalric: Wait, which valuables did you see in your dreams?
Meltam: You should always trust my sense of direction.
Volmalric looks over the tomb and the signs along the walls and doors
Volmalric rolls a Lore test:
Target: 12 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.17+1d20.8 = 25]
You did succeed!
Meltam: Before you all get to work here, I best check that we are alone.
Meltam: Excuse me, gentlemen.
Meltam rolls a Stealth test:
Target: 14 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.1+1d20.8 = 9]

Sigurd: There was a book, we were paid handsomely for it.
Volmalric: A book?
Meltam rolls an Observation test:

Tack:
[1d20.8 = 8]
Sigurd: Yes, it was leather bound and black, and very ancient.
Volmalric: And where did you find it?
Asgrim: We both had the same dream, rather odd. Then we found the map in my backpack the next morning.
Sigurd: Inside a building that looked like this.
Volmalric determines the runes are probably Acheronian, but he has no idea what they mean in any way. He does remember that Messantia is built over the remains of an Acheronian port city.
Volmalric: Where was the tomb at?
Volmalric: This sounds very much like something wishing to be released
Sigurd: Inside this big crypt.
Asgrim: Maybe, that's why we brought you guys to help us, we share the danger, we share the spoils. Let's get the door open.
Asgrim gestures at the door caked with some sort of greenish mold along the hinges and frame.
Meltam hides behind Slumbara, Action Hero
Volmalric: Which city, you fools
Volmalric: Which region?
Sigurd: Right, hence the white powder that burns in contact with liquid.
Sigurd looks at Volmalric.
Sigurd: This city, using the map we showed you, everything lines up based on the map and the hills.
Sigurd: Are you getting cold feet now?
Asgrim laughs.
Asgrim: "Cold feet" - as if non-Asgardians know what that means.
Meltam chuckles.
Volmalric: You said you found the book in a tomb like this, then sold it, then had a dream about the treasure and awoke the next day with the treasure map?
Asgrim: Yes, we have a dream about finding the treasure, then found the treasure map, then traveled south and located this area.
Meltam: I find Volmalric's ways are overcivilized, and overly cautious of accepting the wisdom of dreams.
Meltam: but we put up with him.
Clarifying something, since this was a bit rushed at the end - About a week ago, Sigurd and Asgrim were north of Messantia. They both had the same dream, where they were near a port city, found an ancient black crypt, opened it up and found a black leather bound book inside. They took it into town and a buyer (they are fuzzy on this part) who paid them handsomely and they were ecstatic. When they woke up after the dream, they found a map in Asgrim's backpack. They headed to Messantia and started to recognize things from their dream, but were nervous about the graveyard and what might be inside the crypt, so they found help (the party) and are fine splitting the reward. Sigurd and Asgrim came to the graveyard earlier and were "freaked out" by it, and while they are Asgardian warriors, they are not stupid. Living and splitting a reward is better than dying and getting no reward.
