Volmalric: Ack!
The strike from Rhotinia does not seem that bad at first, Freyda (Thumocris) twists the weapon free of Rhotinia's grasp and skewers both of the cursed Lemurian guards, she turns to face the group, javelin at the ready when she notices that it has snagged on some chain that is hiding an object in her pocket.
Thumocris: What? What is this?
Thumocris reaches into the pocket and her hand erupts into fire.

Tack (Tilpi): WREKD
Tack (Tilpi): End of last session: Thumocris can do nothing and is hosed. Next round of new session: Thumocris has 6 doom :3
Rhotinia had a great plan to loop the chain around Thumocris and pin him in place with arrows. However, the RNG Deities felt otherwise and she loops the chain around both of them, as she tries to pull her bow free it snaps in half, having been suffering from wood stress due to the large number of volleys she has expended lately.
Rhotinia pulls the chain tight, pulling her and Thumocris close together
Volmalric: Volmalric rolls a Thievery test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.12+1d20.15+1d20.16 = 43]
You did not succeed.
Volmalric grabs the chain from Thumocris's hand, trying to pull it free from Freyda's grasp. He can't get it free, and instead presses it against her body to prevent her from dropping it
Volmalric: Begone from this body, and enter something more appropriate for yourself
Tilpi, convinced this realm is largely sustained by Rhiveth's psyche, determines that only a good visit to the pyschologist can help her purge Thumocris and resume a normal healthy life for a venerable Lemurian sorceress. She begins counseling where she thinks Rhiveth's soul would be if it were in the sarcophogas.

You succeeded and generated momentum!
Rhotinia: How do you see this ending Thumocris? Even if you defeat us, by the time you do, you will have destroyed this body. You will be trapped in this realm just the same. You should just give up, stay here, bide your time for a few centuries. What are those hundreds of years to a being as luminous as yourself. If you give up on your mad dreams, I will give myself over to your passions, and Volmalric and Tilpi can entomb us here. I know my spirit piqued your interest, you cannot deny it!
Volmalric does a double take
Volmalric: Volmalric rolls an Insight test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.18+1d20.19 = 37]
You did not succeed.
Volmalric suppresses an "eugh"
Thumocris: I have to admit, I am not even sure how to respond to that. Your body and soul are definitely the most intact of everything here, but I feel like you are relatively disingenuous about this, you stand to gain nothing from this situation....
Thumocris looks over at Tilpi.
Thumocris: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Thumocris: YOU MUST DIE!
Rhotinia: Dont worry about that little tramp, kiss me you damn fool!
Rhotinia plants a wet one on Thumocris
Tilpi appears to be talking to the flowers.
Volmalric appears confused
Thumocris: rolls a test:
Target: 17 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 5 Complications: 1 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.20+1d20.9 = 29]
You did not succeed.
Thumocris attempts to launch some sort of dark magical blast at Tilpi just as Rhotinia reaches over and begins molesting Freyda. Thumocris loses control of the spell and it instead chains between the two of them, causing both Freyda and Rhotinia to get bathed in an agonizing glow of black energy that seems to artificially age them and leech their life essence. Volmalric notices that the energy gets siphoned into the canopic jar lying on the ground, temporarily forgotten.
Rhotinia: You ... could have .... just said no
Rhotinia coughs up blood
Thumocris topples over, black tendrils that look like ghostly columns of smoke rise from a multitude of injuries.
Tilpi appears unusually serene.
Tilpi (Rhiveth): You have despoiled this world for too long, Thumocris. Return to your jar and stay there for eternity. You should plague this world no longer. The days of Acheron and the Giant-Kings are over.
Rhotinia: You tell him girl
Rhotinia weakly gives a thumbs up
Tilpi (Rhiveth) gestures to Rhotinia and Volmalric.
Tilpi (Rhiveth): Thank you both for trapping him here long enough for the jar to begin its purpose. Much death happened to bring this about, but humanity needs to be free to choose its own path.
Tilpi (Rhiveth) walks over to Freyda's smoldering body.
Tilpi (Rhiveth) blows gently on it, as she does, the smoke vapors turn into what looks like a small, angry storm cloud, then it gets pulled into the canopic jar.
Volmalric sits down, hard, his hands on his throat and chest
Volmalric: Thank you
Tilpi (Rhiveth): I will return shortly, rest here, you are safe.
Tilpi (Rhiveth) picks up the Canopic Jar and heads down the tunnel, returns a minute later.
Tilpi (Rhiveth): Now, it is time to fix the problems he caused elsewhere.
Rhotinia drags herself back to her feet
The world shimmers brilliantly, then fades into black. You find yourself standing just outside the tomb entance. All around you Mitran Inquisitors are cheering as the undead horde seems to disintegrate. The ghouls rout and flee for the hills as their skeleton and zombie allies collapse.
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes: Wow, back already? That was a couple minutes you jumped through the portal.
Rhotinia: Oh thank the gods, I have had enough of magical realms and other worlds for a lifetime
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes: I can imagine that, glad to have you back.
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes gestures for medics to come over and apply whatever healing is possible.
Rhotinia looks around for any sign of Sophie
Messantian Soldier: What is that?
Rhotinia looks around for any sign of her horse
Rhotinia's Horse: Neigh! Neigh! Neigh neigh neigh!
Messantian Soldier gestures at a bluish orb slowly descending from the sky.
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes looks up.
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes: No idea, but, I feel like it is something I have seen before.
Argala: In a dream perhaps, but I believe that is Rhiveth made manifest. Somehow she figured out how to free herself from the prison. I suspect we have these three to thank for that.
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes: The Lemurian Sorceress who ruled these lands thousands of years ago that you like to drone on about? Right. Given that last forty-eight hours I will believe anything right now.
Rhiveth lands the orb and steps out of it, as she does the ground around her bursts into wildflowers.
Rhiveth: It feels so good to be free of that prison.
Rhiveth smiles.
Tilpi is filled with joy.
Rhiveth: Although I do need someone to get Skittles for me.
Rhiveth laughs.
Argala bows on one knee.
Messantian Soldier drops prostate.
Messantian Soldier: Not sure why, seems like the right thing.
Tilpi produces catnip out of no where and begins beckoning skittles.
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes: Err... well, thank you ma'am for whatever you did to save Messantia.
Rhotinia: I for one am just glad we are back in Messantia, and that it isn't overrun with undead
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes: That makes two of us happy.
Rhotinia bow respectfully to Rhiveth
Rhotinia: And grateful for the aid, m'lady
Rhotinia: Rhotinia rolls a Society test:
Target: 17 Focus: 5 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.4+1d20.7 = 11]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Rhiveth: There is plenty to do still, for now though, we should rejoice and cherish our victory here.
Rhiveth bows respectfully to Rhotinia, Volmalric, and Tilpi.
Tilpi appears oblivious to the gravity of the situation and any formatlities, running around the graveyard looking for an errant cat.
Rhotinia: Volmalric, my offer from before still stands. I know a merchant in Ophir who would pay you handsomely for your alchemical skills
Tilpi: catnip! Catnip!
Rhotinia: Sunny weather, mulled wine, no supernatural horrors threatening to end civilization...
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes gives a friendly smile to Rhotinia.
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes: I like your plan, milady.
Rhotinia: Rhotinia rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 15 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.11+1d20.6 = 17]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Tilpi is convinced that a proper pet will harden Rhiveth's pscyhology against boogey men and necromancers.
Volmalric: I think I might have to turn you down to return to Aquilonia and heal up some. This has been a very busy few months
Tilpi: So you are going home then? It was interesting learning the ways of the West..
Tilpi: Won't you help me find this cat?
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes: I mean, we have piles of rebuilding to do here and large sections of the city have burned down, but I'm thinking a city wide party for the survivors would be awesome.
Skittles runs up out of nowhere and leaps on Tilpi and engages in rigorous purring and climbing on shoulders and looking SUPER-MEGA-KAWAII!
Rhotinia: I am sure I will be back this way captain, no doubt you and your fellow citizens will need steady supplies coming down river to rebuild
Tilpi: this is purrfect.
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes: That will be much appreciated. I am sure Ophirean products will be well-received here.
Tilpi instructs skittles never to leave Rhiveth alone.
Volmalric: What happened to Sophie, Bridgit, and Cilissa?
Tilpi looks concerned.
Rhotinia is glad to be talking again of trading and making money and not banishing evil spirits in magical realsm
Skittles looks at Tilpi and nods with profound animal-human-mind-meld-bonding-moment.
Rhiveth looks somewhat sad.
Rhiveth: They went home, probably for a long time.
Tilpi: Well that's good.
Rhiveth: I shall miss them, but they were pained and trapped here and miserable. They are happier now, which is the best I can ask for them.
Volmalric: Quite good
Rhotinia: Captain, if I am hearing things right that means there is an opening for a new Lord Inquisitor. I have a few friends around Messantia, I could put in a good word for you...
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes: Hmm... I like this idea. I'm not one for all the politics of the position, but since it seems that 2/3 of the noble houses are currently dead, it might not be that bad.
Volmalric: You'll get the chance for a clean start
Rhotinia: That's the spirit, now let us drown our sorrows over those we lost these past few days
Inquisitor Captain Diogenes: Indeed! Huzzah!
Tilpi appears lost in thought before exclaming something.
Tilpi: Shouldn't we find the body of Meltam and give it a proper burial?
Volmalric: I'm not sure he has a body anymore
Rhiveth: It has been handled, but thank you for your concern, good woman.
Rhotinia: Big boom, red cloud
Volmalric: It was always the way he was destined to die
Rhotinia mimes an explosion with her hands
Tilpi: I see.
Tilpi: Wait, did YOU make this boom happen Volmalric ?
Volmalric: No, I think Thumocris and sorcery did
Tilpi shoots a glare at Volmalric.
Tilpi: Ok.
Tilpi: I have never seen such things before these few weeks.
Rhotinia: No kidding sister
Rhotinia: C'mon, drinks are on me
Rhotinia puts her arm around Tilpi and Volmalric and leads them to the nearest bar
And so did the curtain set on our stalwart companions, who defeated an enemy from another time and restored a Lemurian Sorceress from her prison, and postponed the end of the Hyborian Age for at least a couple more centuries.
