Savage Worlds Ruleset for Fantasy Grounds II
(c) 2009 Pinnacle Entertainment Group.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Whoops! Sorry bout that.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): no problem
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Notice check for the tattoo of an upside-down cross on your ass...I mean, nothing
TADM: Just a minute folks, forgot to copy stats in.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): this is making me nervous...
TADM: Good.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Are you ready to become an ULTIMATE WARRIOR?
TADM: Did everyone pre-roll out their 1's from their combat die? Or in the case of this group, your spellcasting skill?
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm officially making an estimated guess at 10 cards but I can't figure out exactly where I'm going wrong
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Okay, I give you 1 benny for effort and you are low.
Zach Dallas has been awarded a benny
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): (lol)
A couple hours pass and the sun slowly rises over the eastern plains.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): we're in captivity, right?
GM: Yes.
Cynthia Grey walks in to the barn and looks around for a minute, then gestures at the group.
Cynthia Grey: Roll them over on their stomachs. I need access to their spines.
Black River Soldier: Yes ma'am.
Zach Dallas: Well, this bodes nicely
Uriel Iscariot: 0.0
A couple Black River Soldier near you set their guns down and roll your over on your stomachs. Then they retrieve their weapons and back away.
Cynthia Grey: That will be all, everyone take up position outside. I will finish up in here and join you shortly.
Black River Soldier: Yes ma'am.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): can I roll back over?
TADM: You can try. Something is bound to happen if you do.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): We have our traps shut from tape or rope or something?
GM: No, actually you do not have anything obstructing your speech.
Zach Dallas: Rolls back and sits up once the guards leave
Zach Dallas: I clearly should have stopped by to get paid last night...
Zach rolls over. Cynthia frowns and nails him in the side of the head with a shovel until he is unconscious or lying on his stomach.
Cynthia Grey: Fighting (called shot (head)) [1d10-4 = 11]
Cynthia Grey: Shovel damage (called shot(head))[Raise] [3d6+4 = 29]
[w] Zach Dallas: playing dead
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): ouch
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I already have 2 wounds...
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Cyntha Grey just Pwned Zach's head for 240 Gold!
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Playing I think is a bit "relative" given the seven wounds she just did to your head.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): well, plan B of "Get posessed" isn't going to work well anymore
Uriel Iscariot: Uh, pardon me M'am, but what in creation is going on here?
Cynthia Grey: I am keeping you out of harm's way. She is coming. When she gets here, a great many people are going to die. I would prefer you not be among them.
Cynthia bends down and you feel her doing something at your feet.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): so she beats the hell out of me...
TADM: You are still alive.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): she could've asked...
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): (I am still among the hearing impaired?)
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I hope so
TADM: No.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): aww
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): (awww....)
Cynthia Grey: Scream like you are dying you idiot or the guards will come in to check on me.
Uriel Iscariot: Boost Stat[Spirit]:Self
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [1d8+2 = 9]
Uriel Iscariot: SPIRITED SCREAM!
Next you feel her move up to your wrists. It only takes a couple seconds to realize she is cutting your bonds.
Uriel Iscariot: [1d12 = 11]
Uriel Iscariot: WAAAAAAAAAAGH!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): lol
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): a proper priest
She sets down a bottle next to Uriel.
Cynthia Grey: This is for Zach. Wait a minute or two, then cut him loose, force this down his throat, and then get out of Dodge.
Cynthia Grey: I do not expect to see you again in this world.
Uriel Iscariot: Noted' 'Mam.
Uriel Iscariot: 00
Uriel Iscariot: Can you tell me somethin' a lil' less cryptic here?
Dr. MacVellian: Guess I should have sold my mech, since it's getting left behind now :(
TADM: Only if you follow Miss Grey's advice.
She stands up, dusts the hay off her skirt and walks out the front door. You hear it getting padlocked shut.
Uriel Iscariot: Aight then...Um....You folks want to trust that witch, or not?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): am I conscious?
GM: Zach has my permission to gurgle and say nothing until someone cuts him loose and pours the potion down his throat.
Zach Dallas: *gurgle*
Zach Dallas: *silence*
Zach Dallas: angry gurgle
Uriel Iscariot: Follows instructions and attempts to help Zach
Dr. MacVellian: We could just leave him here, you know
Uriel Iscariot: Healing[Raw]
Uriel Iscariot: [1d6 = 4]
Zach regains consciousness following pouring the bottle down his throat and Uriel putting a cold compress on his head.
Zach Dallas: My skull feels quite better now
Uriel Iscariot: (unties and helps Zach)
Uriel Iscariot: Both of you, spit out' what ye'all know about what's about to go down on 'ere!
GM: Well, the contents of the bottle, since I doubt you smelt the bottle back into liquid form and pour molten glass down his throat. But you get the idea.
TADM: The timer is counting...
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): that would be uncomfortable
Zach Dallas: Hooray! I am 50% more healthy!
Dr. MacVellian: I say we make a speedy retreat and formulate a plan on the way to the warehouse
Uriel Iscariot: ...
Uriel Iscariot: Makes a sign of the cross
Zach Dallas: or I suppose 50% less unhealthy or 100% more healthy
Uriel Iscariot: One wants her toy, the other one is blase.
Zach Dallas: I'm pretty sure they're already there
Uriel Iscariot: WHO!
Zach Dallas: whoever Grey is afraid of
Zach Dallas: My guess, since she seems to be uninterested in killing us is that she's genuinely good and since she gets a Queen of Spades every time
Zach Dallas: a horrible omen
Dr. MacVellian: took me a lot of time to make it, so I'd like to verify that it's gone for myself, thank you
Zach Dallas: then the person who always gets a Queen of Hearts is probably her opposite
Zach Dallas: sigh
Uriel Iscariot: =|
Zach Dallas: Sure. I'm fit for fighting
Zach Dallas: Grey seemed to expect her death soon anyway
Uriel Iscariot: Ok well I am not going to abandon anyone. Lets sneak around and see what we can do to help!
The back door of the warehouse opens and two men enter.
GM: Notice checks.
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 11]
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d6+2 = 12]
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 5]
TADM: Well holy crap.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I feel left out
The first one you recognize as Wyatt Earp. With those notice checks, you recognize the second one as Doc Holliday.
Wyatt Earp: Well, this is an interesting development. Doc, I would like to introduce Preacher Iscariot, Zach Dallas, and Doctor MacVellian.
Doc Holliday: Doctor Machiavellian? Wow, what cruel parents you had.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): lol
Uriel Iscariot: Please to meet you, Doc....?
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): (even if I immediately recognize)
[w] Zach Dallas: do I instantly recognize him?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Not until he introduces himself.
Dr. MacVellian: Less talking. More leaving
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): where is my hat?
Zach Dallas: Picks up hat
Zach Dallas: I lost my pistols :(
Doc Holliday: John Henry Holliday. Formerly of the school of dentistry.
[w] Zach Dallas: that enough recognition?
Wyatt walks over to the front, looks at the entrance.
Uriel Iscariot: I see, is an honor to meet you.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: You remember the name Doc Holliday, having heard it from other gamblers.
Doc Holliday: Likewise.
Zach Dallas: Quite the pleasure
Wyatt Earp: You sure you can pick that padlock through the crack in the door?
Zach Dallas: Might I ask what you two are doing here?
[w] Zach Dallas: have they been good, bad, or neutral rumors?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Yes.
Doc Holliday squats down in front of the doors and pulls a pair of very long, thin picks from his vest pocket. He starts to feed them through the door.
Doc Holliday: Now Wyatt, have I ever let you down before?
Uriel Iscariot: Boost Stat[Agility]:Doc Holiday
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [1d6+2 = 19]
Wyatt Earp: Well, in about two minutes or so, all Hell is going to break loose on the other side of the door. When it does, Doc and I are going to even the odds for those fighting on the other side.
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM do I notice any sort of magical interference when casting?
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: No.
Doc Holliday: Well Wyatt, does that mean we're helping Cynthia?
Wyatt Earp: No.
Zach Dallas: Hm
Doc Holliday: You said, "even the odds"
Wyatt Earp: Funny Doc.
Uriel Iscariot: Laughs.
Zach Dallas: Well, she did the favor of leaving us alive and telling us to high tail it out of here
Wyatt Earp: I see. Well I reckon ya'all need to do what you think is right then.
Zach Dallas: Well, I'm a bit worried that the Queen of Spades she gives me is a misnomer
Uriel Iscariot: Checking if our weapons were left behind (as they were taken from us)
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 9]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): did they take my cards?
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Uriels Dice are on a killing streak!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Somebody stop them!
All of your belongings were dumped in a barrel not far from where you were tied up.
GM: Retrieving them will probably take a couple minutes.
Uriel Iscariot: grabs his gear
GM: And no...MacVellian's Mech does not fit in the barrel.
Zach Dallas: grabs gear
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): not yet, anyway
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): You didn't make it compressable and then like just add 5g of ghost rock and it expands to full size?
Zach Dallas: Slides up toward Holliday
Uriel Iscariot: Well Wyatt, Can you tell me a little more about the hell that is about to be transpirin here?
Zach Dallas: Hey, Doc, how bad would you say consistantly pulling Dead Man's Hand is?
Wyatt Earp: We were able to track down that the abominations in the graveyard, the dead inventors, and a few other odd happenings were all the result of Black River operatives. It is a pretty safe bet that Cynthia Grey is the focal point.
Doc Holliday: Really, dead man's hand every time? And you're still alive? I'd say a guardian angel is watching you my friend.
Zach Dallas: It's rather annoying, actually. It did rid my deck of Jokers, though
Zach Dallas: something about "big evil" and "marked"
Uriel Iscariot: And who exactly is on the other side? Union Blue?
Zach Dallas: coincidently, it started happening after I played a friendly game with Grey
Wyatt Earp: Well, if they knew better, I'd say yes, Union Blue is the other side. But they are a bit...daft at time.
Doc Holliday: (sniffs) Well, I'd suspect that there is no such thing as a friendly game where that woman is involved.
Cynthia Grey: Isabella deMerini, it is good to see you have the courage to face death alone.
Wyatt Earp: Faster doc...
Isabella DeMerini: Cynthia Grey, it is expected to see that you do not.
Zach Dallas: Queen of Spades vs Queen of Hearts...
Cynthia Grey: I face death proudly, it matters little if you kill me as long as the reign of terror you and your friends ends with your deaths.
Doc Holliday: Why Wyatt, I do believe that husky Bohemiam tramp has threatened our lives.
Wyatt Earp: Never mind her Doc, women like her are full of piss and wind. You have that lock opened yet?
Doc Holliday pulls the lockpick wires back from the lock and slides them back into his vest pocket. The lock on the other side falls soundlessly to the ground outside, a second later the chain unwraps from the door handles and falls to the ground also.
Doc Holliday: Of course Wyatt. Ready?
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 2]
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): (good positions)
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 10]
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d8+2 = 7]
Wyatt Earp: On Isabella's signal.
Peeking through the slats in the walls, you can see that a number of Black River gunmen have taken up position and are waiting for the order to fire.
Dr. MacVellian: checks to make sure gun is still loaded
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d8+2 = 7]
Uriel Iscariot: Quickness[Wyatt]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Seasoned Power -4) [1d8-2 = 1]
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 5]
GM: Your gun has as much ammo in it now as it had when it was taken from you.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I already reloaded and marked off the number from my stash
Uriel Iscariot: Waits for more hell to break loose.

Cynthia staggers backwards, blood flowing from a wound in her stomach.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Wait, if he kills her, this town is headed for a small war, no?
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): I mean won't half of dodge just mob down Wyatt and Doc?
Cynthia Grey: No! I will not be beaten! Not by you. Not by ANYONE!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): if they knew who did it
Cynthia Grey: People of Dodge City! Kill Doc Holliday!
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Quick Kazemi! Theres stilll 9 witness henchmen! get to work!
Doc Holliday: Wyatt, I do believe that is bad for my health.
Shouts and screams can be heard from within Dodge City. It seems like the entire town has just come awake. You hear doors slam and the sound of guns being fired.
Cynthia Grey: If I die, so does Dodge!

Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Nope :(
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Youre not henchman #4! Drop everything! There's an impostor on scene!
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): wait, maybe. forgot the +2 for joker, so it's a 7
Wyatt Earp: Give up Cynthia. This does not have to happen.
TADM: A 7 is still a miss.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): damn
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): phantom damage to the head!
Dr. MacVellian: RevolverShotgun damage [3d6 = 8]
Wyatt Earp: (holding action, ready to shoot Cynthia if she shows further hostility)

Doc Holliday: Shooting [1d10 = 9]
Doc Holliday: Shooting [1d12 = 8]
Doc Holliday: Peacemaker damage [2d6+1 = 18]

He shoots Cynthia twice in the chest. She topples over, gasping for breath.
Doc Holliday: Sleep sweet my little Bohemian Tramp. I shall miss your crude and sometimes violent form of lovemaking though.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): TMI OMG TMI!!!!!!!
Wyatt Earp: Doc, you know, they invented the phrase "too much information" for times just like this.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): lol
Doc Holliday: Why Wyatt, I do believe I detect a bit of jealousy in your tone.
Wyatt Earp: (laughs) Doc, you always give me a chuckle.
The men who had been firing at you and coming towards you stop. Several of them have confused expressions on their faces.
Black River Soldier: Uhh....where am I?
Black River Soldier: Uhh...this isn't Wichita.
Zach Dallas: makes me feel better that I didn't kill anyone
Dr. MacVellian: Why did you untie us if you were just going to "enslave" the town anyway?
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Shhh! Drama comming!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): because, we're "marked"
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Spinning Token will deliver a punchline and a finisher!@
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): well, I am anyways
Isabella walks over to Cynthia and kneels down.
Wyatt Earp: Doc, I think we need a drink.
Doc Holliday: Wyatt, I think I need a bath and a shave.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Team sit-and-spin for the win!!
Cynthia stops gasping. Her eyes close. Isabella pulls out two gold coins on puts them on Cynthia's eyes.
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM with the last of the windstorm, can i make a tumbleweed cross the scene for SUPER DRAMA during cynthia's death?
A few tears roll down her cheeks as she whispers something.
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: Sure.
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 5]
Dr. MacVellian: notice to hear what it is
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d8+2 = 7]
Uriel Iscariot: Notice[Whisper]
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 6]
Zach Dallas: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 5]
Isabella said, "Farewell and safe journey when you meet the Ferryman. Wait for me at the Gates of Hell."
Uriel Iscariot: Not doing anything (Shes cursed)
Doc Holliday: Well Wyatt, since all the gunfire in the distance has ceased, I'd say we won this little spat.
Zach Dallas: And you no longer have a town after you
Zach Dallas: Congrats
Uriel Iscariot: Heal[Wyatt]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [1d6+2 = 7]
Wyatt Earp: Easy for you to say Doc. You're getting on a train for Texas this afternoon. Cleaning up this mess will take some effort.
Wyatt Earp: Hey, thanks Preacher. Your blessings always warm my heart.
Uriel Iscariot: I hate to see it come to violence, but it seems you're an expert in it. :)
Wyatt Earp: Not by choice this time.
Uriel Iscariot: Sadly yes....I reckon this was one sticky pickle....
Uriel Iscariot: Now then. Who wants to get a hearty meal? This mess is going to be here for a while
Dr. MacVellian: You're not going to help clean it up?
Dr. MacVellian: I suppose I should get my suit. The undertaker's going to need help digging all these graves
Zach Dallas: How long has Grey been doing this?
Zach Dallas: There were a lot of people, and the survivors don't seem to know what's been going on
Bat Masterson: I'd say I'm here to help with the rest of the Marshal's office and everyone from the Dodge City police department, but I guess we'll just get shovels out and bury the bodies.
Uriel Iscariot: ....Ya know, You don't even have the decency to dig a persons grave with your own two hands.......jesus mary and joseph....mi
Wyatt Earp: It's okay Bat. You were keeping the rest of the Black River people from getting here.
Isabella DeMerini: Take your boots off.
Dr. MacVellian: Um, which way's my warehouse?
She points a pistol in the general direction of the party.
Zach Dallas: Right
Uriel Iscariot: takes off boots.
Zach Dallas: takes off shoes
Dr. MacVellian: I'm not wearing boots
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Occult [1d6 = 4]
Zach Dallas: I seem to remember a shovel going into my face earlier
Doc Holliday: Machiavellian, I'd drop your knickers if the woman asked. She don't look like she has a sense of humor right now.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I really like Doc Holliday
Dr. MacVellian: I guess. :(
Dr. MacVellian: takes them off
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): ROFL
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: You are firmly convinced that somehow Isabella was using playing cards to control people.
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM oh. No i mean why take off shoes. =)
At the bottom of your shoes/boots/what-have-you is a Queen of Spades.
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM Oh....Ok it makes sense now,
Wyatt Earp: Don't rightly know how, but I get the feeling that little card explains a lot.
[w] Zach Dallas: can I use Blast in a weakened way to just burst it into flames harmlessly?
Bat Masterson: I get the feeling that Dodge City is going to be "barefoot city" for a few weeks.
Zach Dallas: Yup. That's what the voodoo priest had in his shoe
Uriel Iscariot: Purify with Fire!!!!
Uriel Iscariot: Throws card in burning barn
Doc Holliday: And that gentlemen, is a great reason for me not to be here. The sight of Wyatt's unwashed feet and the smell would be quite overwhelming to my delicate constitution.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): DOC IS AWESOME
Zach Dallas: lights match on the card
Wyatt Earp: Well Doc, at least we don't have to see your pasty white feet.
Bat Masterson: so anyone with a card from Miss Grey's establishment could be affected?
Isabella DeMerini: Yes.
Zach Dallas: Now, these cards have to be specially prepared, right?
Uriel Iscariot: It seemed when her soul left her body behind, the spell was broken....
Zach Dallas: because I seem to remember SOMEBODY stealing a card from our game
Zach Dallas: glances at Uriel
Dr. MacVellian: which way's my warehouse? Or the local shoeshop?
Uriel Iscariot: I don'
Isabella DeMerini: Also true, Preacher Iscariot. So the danger to Dodge has defintiely passed.
Zach Dallas: and I've got 104 Queens of Spades from failed attempts over the last couple weeks
Wyatt Earp: Doctor, the warehouse is that way (points) and the nearest shoe shop is that way (points)
Dr. MacVellian: Thank you sir. What size are you gents? I'll bring some back for you as well
Doc Holliday: Well, I think it is high time to have a game of Faro. Enough standing around mulling over things.
Dr. MacVellian: heads to the store first
Bat Masterson: Right, we'll handle the cleanup.
Zach Dallas: I'm good, but I haven't played Faro in a while
Wyatt Earp: I'll go check in town and make sure things did not get too out of hand. Check on the Sheriff.
Isabella DeMerini: I'm in Doc.
Uriel Iscariot: Sounds like fun.
Doc Holliday: Why, my dear Isabella. To have the honor of losing money to such a sweet Grecian doxie! I am all a quiver at the thought.
Isabella DeMerini: Faro right Doc? None of this "dealer's choice" again. It's too early in the morning for strip poker.
Doc Holliday: My dear, it is never too early in the morning to behold your body in its god-given splendor.
Dr. MacVellian: buys boots (Notice for hidden cards)
Zach Dallas: Gutsy
Bat Masterson: WHOA! Take it inside you two! This is a public street.
Uriel Iscariot: :shrugs:
[w] Dr. MacVellian: You're just the sort of evil GM who'd have an NPC hide every boot in town w/ them. Or have them sewn into the lining
Uriel Iscariot: No worse a crime than the past 30 minutes of carnage here....
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d8+2 = 7]
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: There are no cards in the footwear you purchase.
Doc Holliday: Preacher, this is a mere scrap. I once saw this beautiful Grecian doxie, clad in nothing more than a towel and using a fork, kill six bandits who attacked her in a public bath.
Uriel Iscariot: 0.0
Isabella DeMerini: Doc, you are a sick man.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Yay! Now I need to go waste it checking my hotel room and warehouse for them
Zach Dallas: AHAHAHAHA
Doc Holliday: I die a little each day that I am not by your side my fair Grecian doxie.
Uriel Iscariot: Man, those guys got "served".
Zach Dallas: stops laughing
Zach Dallas: looks at Uriel
Dr. MacVellian: heads to the warehouse w/ new card-less boots
Isabella DeMerini: (laughs, it is an incredibly pleasant sound, you almost feel relaxed just being around her)
Doc Holliday: Come my Grecian doxie, a Faro table awaits.
Doc Holliday: Who else wishes to lose money to this fine specimen of womanhood?
[w] Zach Dallas: I'd like to bring up, with Doc and Isabella individually, possible ways of getting rid of the Dead Man's Hand that I keep pulling.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Notice to check warehouse, then suit for cards/damage/etc.
Uriel Iscariot: :eyes narrow:
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d6+2 = 5]
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6+2 = 6]
Uriel Iscariot: Sure i'll come.
Zach Dallas: I'm game
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: You find cards all over the place.
Zach Dallas: But my betting money is currently Confederate :/
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Damnit. I start a fire in the stove and start throwing them in
The four of you settle in a saloon over near the Cherrywick Hotel.
Doc settles down at a chair and shuffles up the cards.
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 3]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): damn
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 17]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): OHO!
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): ENERGY EYES!
[w] Zach Dallas -> Uriel Iscariot: of course, it'll only work if he pulls snake eyes
Doc Holliday: Now, let's see what happens when we shuffle these out. See if this is a good deck.
He deals each person five cards, face up.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): splendid...
Doc Holliday: Let's see, Zach Dallas has a dead man's hand.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Anything especially peculiar during my miniquest? Or should I just go to the hotel to continue the search?
Zach Dallas: Of course
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Nothing special happens, you can search the hotel now. You find no cards in the hotel.
Zach Dallas: If you could deal me something else, I'd be truly impressed
Zach Dallas: Grateful, even, if it continued
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 4]
Doc Holliday: Isabella, you have your odd little two pair. I notice Zach's hand is better than yours.
Zach Dallas: for reactions
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Deadman...pfft....the only deadman is the one without bennies
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): How many ya got?
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Just to speed things up, can I go to the hotel before I go to the warehouse? I want to take my suit to the undertaker's to see if he needs help digging graves
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Dallas Neither Isabella nor Doc seemed upset by your deadman's hand.
[w] Zach Dallas: lol
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Sure.
[w] Zach Dallas: clearly the same goes for Tack
Isabella DeMerini: Queens over Fours.
Dr. MacVellian: Takes the cart w/ mech to the undertakers
Zach Dallas: Aces and Eightsd
Doc Holliday: Well, let's get this game underway.
Doc Holliday: (gathers up the cards, shuffles, and deals out some cards)
Isabella DeMerini: Just a sec, Doc.
[w] Zach Dallas: what does Doc get?
[w] Zach Dallas: also, I take it that Isabella always gets a pair of Queens and Fours
[w] Zach Dallas: I just can't find any specific meaning behind it
Uriel Iscariot: :lights a cigar:
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Straight flush, 5-9 of Diamonds for Doc.
[w] Zach Dallas: lol
[w] Zach Dallas: what about Tack?
[w] Zach Dallas: do you have THAT prepicked?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: If you look at the notes page on your character sheet, you might know what Queens and Fours Isabella gets. And what the fifth card is.
[w] Zach Dallas: dammit
Isabella DeMerini: Doc, you are a great guy and all, but let me cut the deck.
[w] Zach Dallas: I'd have noticed that in a minute
[w] Zach Dallas: T.T
Doc Holliday: Sure thing, my dulcit darling.
[w] Zach Dallas: it does explain quite a bit, though
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Does the undertaker accept my help?
He gathers the cards, shuffles, hands to Isabella, she cuts, he deals.
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: At first they are not sure, but once you give them a demonstration they think your digging machine is the coolest thing ever for the Undertaker business. Now if you could just figure out a way to refill the hole.
Doc Holliday: Shall we try one hand of poker, to see how this works?
Isabella DeMerini: Sure Doc, I'll humor you, even though you said Faro.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Just to actually show that it works. No sense cheating
Dr. MacVellian: Weird Science [1d6 = 4]
Dr. MacVellian: Weird Science [1d8 = 3]
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Hmmm...not the prettiest hole. We'll just say it's for a really fat/thin person
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: The undertaker still thinks it is really cool.
Uriel Iscariot: :appears quite content to be at a gambling table smoking:
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): a +3 Masterwork Shovel of Huckster Smiting?
TADM: Unfortunately, you forgot to get that out of the burning barn.
The Undertaker pays you 14 pounds of rice for assistance in digging holes for all the bodies from this morning.
The final tally is 47 dead, and enough wounded that Doc Boone will be able to retire after he gets done patching everyone up and collecting medical bills.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Burrow's an expensive power when you dig for the dead
Undertaker: Okay, I offer you 14 pounds of rice and five chickens then.
Dr. MacVellian: No, the rice is fine.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): That was a statement power wise, not pricewise
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I am now confused
Undertaker: Good, because me next offer was for lazy no-good seven year old son. Stupid child does not have proper Chinese sentiment, too Americanized.
Dr. MacVellian: Takes the suit back to the warehouse to clean and sharpen the drill
[w] Zach Dallas: so, what did I miss?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Nothing, we just switched to Nick's character while you were rebooting.
[w] Zach Dallas: thanks
GM: Gambling checks for those at the table.
Doc Holliday: Gambling [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d10 = 6]
Zach Dallas: Gambling [1d8 = 3]
Isabella DeMerini: Gambling [1d8 = 7]
[w] Dr. MacVellian: And then I go back to the hotel to a) offer the rice as my payment for the next day or two, and b) sleep.
Uriel Iscariot: Gambling [1d6 = 4]
Zach Dallas: Gambling [1d8 = 7]
Dr. MacVellian: Unskilled (Unskilled Modifier -2) [1d4-2 = 15]
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Bertha is happy to take the 14 pounds of rice for the remainder of your bill.
Everyone gets a normal hand of cards. Isabella's Full House of sevens and nines wins.
Doc Holliday: And again, I find myself giving you money.
Uriel Iscariot: Congratulations
Isabella DeMerini: The way you say that, I feel like a soiled dove.
Doc Holliday: Only in my dreams, sweet Grecian doxie.
Small Boy: Excuse me mister? Is it true that you are Doc Holliday?
Uriel Iscariot: :blinks:
Doc Holliday: Yes.
Small Boy: OH MY GOD! THIS IS SO COOL!
Small Boy: Can you sign my school book?
Doc Holliday: Errr...
Zach Dallas: Haha
Isabella DeMerini: You are famous.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): what time of day is it?
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 5]
TADM: It is now 1100 AM.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): more like infamous
Small Boy: Ma'am, you are very pretty.
Isabella DeMerini: Thanks.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Hmmm guess it's too early to sleep. Oh well. Catnap wouldn't hurt. Zzzz...
The little boy runs off.
Uriel Iscariot: Notice[Small Boy]
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 3]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): so, the priest is after the Small Boy, eh?
Doc Holliday: Okay, so now that this deck is dealing normally, shall we try Faro?
GM: Gambling checks.
Zach Dallas: Gambling [Critical failure!] [1d8 = 1]
Doc Holliday: Gambling [1d10 = 2]
Isabella DeMerini: Gambling [1d10 = 9]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): AHAHAHAHAHAHA
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Well I was going to point it outmyself, but I wanted to know if it wasnt just a detail
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I'LL KEEP IT
Uriel Iscariot: Gambling [1d6 = 5]
Uriel plays a nice round of Faro and beats Doc. Of course, Isabella takes him to the cleaners.
Dr. MacVellian: Unskilled (Unskilled Modifier -2) [1d4-2 = 0]
Doc Holliday: I believe that part of the problem is that I am too sober to be playing these games.
Uriel Iscariot: Congratulations again!
Zach Dallas: Shall we order a round, then?
Isabella DeMerini: I do believe that it is time for you to go to the train station.
Doc Holliday: Well damn, it is that time.
[w] Zach Dallas: before he leaves, I want to know the trick to ending that Dead Man's Hand
Doc Holliday: I bid a fond adieu to you gentlemen, and my lewd little Grecian doxie.
Isabella DeMerini: See you around doc.
[w] Zach Dallas: I'll put my C$30 on it if asking doesn't help
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Awww....
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (Doc) Ask Isabella, she cut the deck.
Wyatt Earp: Doc, caught you just in time. We need to get you to the train.
[w] Zach Dallas: do I wind up giving him the C$30?
Doc Holliday: Well, I do feel a bit rushed out of town.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: He'll take $15, gives you the rest back.
Zach Dallas: It was an honor
Wyatt Earp: Nope doc, we just don't want you to be late.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Run for your life, Doc!! The GM's about to railroad you!
Isabella DeMerini: And tell Kate I wish her well. She is taking good care of you.
Doc Holliday: Well, I do believe Doctor Machiavellian is right. I am being railroaded. I object.
Uriel Iscariot: Doc, we need more comic relief in these parts, It's sad to see ya go
Isabella DeMerini: Doc, historically this town goes dry in a couple months, how long will you survive in a town of teetotalers?
Doc Holliday: Well damn. I do declare, that does get me out of town. (bows, leaves with Wyatt)
Isabella DeMerini: That man always makes me laugh. And somedays that is harder than others.
Uriel Iscariot: I can see why, if you get these types a lot.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): So, when do we open to Party of PCs: Reunion?
Isabella DeMerini: Some days are nice and peaceful Preacher. Many are not.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Whenver you get GAMBLING, the pasttime of the west.
She shuffles the cards absentmindedly.
Isabella DeMerini: Another hand?
Uriel Iscariot: Yes, Please.
Zach Dallas: Sure thing
Isabella DeMerini: Gambling [1d8 = 5]
Zach Dallas: Gambling [1d8 = 6]
Dr. MacVellian: w/ looks around town for the others. or are we all at the same hotel right now?
Uriel Iscariot: Gambling [1d6 = 4]
Dr. MacVellian: Unskilled (Unskilled Modifier -2) [1d4-2 = 3]
They are all at the same saloon, right across the street from the Cherrywick Hotel.
Zach comes up with a win there. By the end of that hand, he is down $10 and Uriel is down $15.
Isabella DeMerini: Nicely played.
Zach Dallas: I must say I'm more impressed with your own style
Dr. MacVellian: joins them, since the whispers have gone quiet
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: you said you were taking a catnap.
Isabella DeMerini: Hello Doctor MacVellian, joining us for a game?
Zach Dallas: Especially the lack of that annoying DMH I keep getting
Zach Dallas: How do you do that?
Isabella DeMerini: I believe it helps to be a master of your Fate.
Uriel Iscariot: Dr. MacVellian, I am pleased to see you made it, you don't come to social events much.
Dr. MacVellian: I'd like that, thank you. Looks like the town was hit harder than I thought, though
Wyatt Earp: Well, doc got on the train all right. Care to deal me in?
Zach Dallas: Hm
Dr. MacVellian: Probably because I was helping with the cleanup effort
Isabella DeMerini: Absolutely Wyatt, pull up a chair.
Dr. MacVellian: glares at Uriel and Zach
Zach Dallas: shrugs at Doc
Wyatt Earp: Reverend Stanton returned this morning, he was doling out Last Rites to the unfortunate.
Uriel Iscariot: But he is ok?
Wyatt Earp: Seemed okay to me.
Wyatt Earp: Said the farms to the north had not been plagued by bandits in the past couple weeks. Well, except for the ones we already knew about.
Uriel Iscariot: Well that's good to hear, with all that raiding of homesteads and such...
GM: Isabella deals out cards. Gambling checks again.
Wyatt Earp: Gambling [1d6 = 4]
Dr. MacVellian: Shouldn't you be sheparding your flock preacher, especially with all the damage the wolves have done to it?
Isabella DeMerini: Gambling [1d8 = 5]
Dr. MacVellian: Unskilled (Unskilled Modifier -2) [1d4-2 = 1]
Uriel Iscariot: Gambling [1d6 = 4]
Zach Dallas: Gambling [1d8 = 5]
Uriel Iscariot: No. I shouldn't. Faith can't be just given to them, not in this place, it needs to be found amidst all the trials that lurk here.
Uriel Iscariot: And for your information, had you actually attended local services, you'd have seen me there.
Zach Dallas: So your flock is one of turkey vultures?
Uriel Iscariot: ....what the heck does that mean Zach?
Zach Dallas: I'm just curious whether yours is the flock to overcome those trials
Uriel Iscariot: My flock is the whole world.
MacVellian and Uriel are down $5. Zach is up $2.50 at the end of that hand.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): YES!
Uriel Iscariot: And yes, to date, they have done some pretty impressive feats.
Dr. MacVellian: In that case, I fear for the world
Uriel Iscariot: :blinks:
Wyatt Earp: Well, I think life in Dodge is going to be a good bit safer for the near future.
Uriel Iscariot: You people these days, with yer technology and with yer books......tsk tsk....
Zach Dallas: Indeed
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): waits for the explosion/screaming/gunfire
Zach Dallas: And what of YOUR book, good Preacher?
Wyatt Earp: Which reminds me, since I can think about something other than the murders and chaos in town, there is something I hope I can get you to look into.
Uriel Iscariot: It was written with some good old authority, rather than all this jibba jabba of science.
Uriel Iscariot: Oh, of course Wyatt, Just name the Task.
Wyatt Earp: Assuming of course, that you don't start killing each other....
Zach Dallas: I'm listening
Isabella DeMerini: They mean it all in good fun Wyatt. Relax a little.
Wyatt Earp: Isabella, you do realize that this morning there were at least twenty men firing rifles at you, to say nothing of whatever hijinks Cynthia Grey was involved in?
Uriel Iscariot: No, he meant it; these two didn't have the spirit to resist a witch. And Then they lecture me.....
Isabella DeMerini: Yes, and I play cards to relax.
Wyatt Earp: Fair enough Isabella.
Zach Dallas: I was just curious about your comments, Preacher. You posess the most famous book of them all
Uriel Iscariot: Indeed, the only show in town, the only book worth reading!
Zach Dallas: And the one with the most versions
Isabella DeMerini: So Wyatt, how about you and I go for a ride this afternoon? Burn off some steam.
Isabella DeMerini: You can tell us about this exciting opportunity in the morning.
Zach Dallas: RIGHT! Job
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Oh Snap!
Wyatt Earp: That sounds like a beautiful idea Isabella.
Zach Dallas: What time are we thinking?
Uriel Iscariot: :ceases hostilities with the PCs:
Wyatt Earp: Cherrywick Hotel, 800. See you then.
Isabella DeMerini: Have a quiet afternoon all.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): I smell a plothook for later!
She slides the cards over to Uriel.
Zach Dallas: What was that job you were thinking, Wyatt?
Uriel Iscariot: Mike[Bible is the inerrant word of God, Author of Reality, Creator of the Universe]
Uriel Iscariot: Persuasion [1d6 = 3]
Dr. MacVellian: Smarts [1d12 = 10]
Wyatt and Isabella leave.
Zach Dallas: Smarts [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 2]
Zach Dallas is using a benny
Zach Dallas: Smarts [1d8 = 6]
Uriel Iscariot: Takes cards
Zach Dallas: I'll give you $10 if you can name the book with the second greatest number of versions
Dr. MacVellian: Understanding the bible for dummies?
Unless someone does something to change this, the day passes uneventfully. The next morning dawns quietly and nicely.
Uriel Iscariot: (nothing really)
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): was Wyatt talking to her about a job, or us?
Uriel Iscariot: Uh....Uh....
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Aww fair enough.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Most AEG books? Oh wait, they stay w/ one bad version
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): lol
Wyatt was going to meet the PCs at Cherrywick Hotel at 800.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Euclid's "The Elements"
And at 800, Wyatt and Isabella are sitting in the Hotel dining room as Bertha brings them breakfast.
GM: So who is there to speak with them?
Zach Dallas: me
Uriel Iscariot: Good Day to you Isabella! Wyatt.
Wyatt Earp: Morning Preacher.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I was noticibly paying attention to him, and ignoring Nick :D
Isabella DeMerini: Hello Preacher.
Uriel Iscariot: Peace of the Lord be with you!
Zach Dallas: Good morning, Wyatt, Isabella
Uriel Iscariot: (says grace before eating anything)
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: What language do you say Grace in
[w] Dr. MacVellian: How many hours have past since I started gravedigging yesterday?
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM Latin
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: At least 18.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: I'll just assume a full recharge, then
Dr. MacVellian: Good morning, everyone.
Isabella DeMerini: Preacher, the "c" in "sancti" is hard not soft. Latin does not have soft "c" sounds.
Zach Dallas: OHO!
Wyatt Earp: Morning Doctor.
Dr. MacVellian: smiles when I see some rice for breakfast
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): DOUBLE ZINGER
Isabella DeMerini: It is a common mistake taught by seminaries.
Uriel Iscariot: This is true, however I am using church latin. I don't know how so many learned people mangled a language so much,......but now its all the rage!
Uriel Iscariot: Exactly!
Uriel Iscariot: So what am i going to do? Stop?
Uriel Iscariot: =)
Isabella DeMerini: A person should do what they think is right.
Zach Dallas: That was an impressive rebutal
Wyatt Earp: Okay, now that we have had a chance to rest and ponder, I have something I would like you to look into for me.
Uriel Iscariot: Sure.
Wyatt Earp: Helping get Dodge organized and settled after yesterday is going to take some work, which ties me up.
Wyatt Earp: But a friend of mine, John Daly, owns a large copper mine out in Colorado.
Uriel Iscariot: I see....
Wyatt Earp: I have not heard from him in a while, but the week before the Symposium his daughter Shelley came through town on the way to see him. So if you could head out to Coffin Rock, Colorado and see how he is doing, I would appreciate it. Make sure you tell him I sent you, he'll be happy to take care of you out there.
Uriel Iscariot: Will do Wyatt.
Zach Dallas: Alright, then
Wyatt Earp: Last I heard, the town hit a pretty big lode of copper, so should be plenty of money and excitement for you. And maybe even some Ghost Rock for Doctor MacVellian.
Uriel Iscariot: Ah well, at least I can leave here knowing its in good hands.
Isabella DeMerini: If not, it gets her closer to Nevada and Fort 51, if she is looking to meet up with Doctor Bailey again. And, I think I'll ride with you three for a while. I have some business in Denver to attend to.
Uriel Iscariot: Hrm interesting.
Uriel Iscariot: :smiles:
Wyatt Earp: Not the "blowing up half the town" kind, is it?
Dr. MacVellian: Very interesting
Isabella DeMerini: I hope not. That gets me an unpleasant reputation.
Dr. MacVellian: Not going to be scared around all the technology out there, are you two?
Dr. MacVellian: looks at Zach and Uriel
Isabella DeMerini: And keeps the insurance companies depressed and barely solvent.
Uriel Iscariot: I am not scared for myself: I am scared for the souls of those who worship it
Zach Dallas: Why, whatever do you mean?
Uriel Iscariot: I am also scared for you: You reach for your walking tin can, or your gun......what do you reach for?
Uriel Iscariot: What CAN you reach for when you have neither?
Dr. MacVellian: You build a gun on the "tin can"
Dr. MacVellian: Duh!
Wyatt Earp: Well, if you need nothing more from me, I need to meet up with Bat. Good day and good travels all.
Isabella DeMerini: See you Wyatt.
Dr. MacVellian: As to you, sir
Uriel Iscariot: May the light always brigten your path.
Wyatt Earp: Isabella surely does.
He walks out the door.
Uriel Iscariot: So....Isabella, Can you tell us anything else that Wyatt left to our own curiosities to find out?
Isabella DeMerini: There are a great many things I could tell you, but I question the relevance of them. And I have not been in the Colorado territory for a couple years.
Uriel Iscariot: I see....
Uriel Iscariot: :puts fedora on:
Uriel Iscariot: :lights cigar:
Uriel Iscariot: Our work here is finished.
Uriel Iscariot: {Walks off toward the station}, what are we waiting for?
Zach Dallas: So, which railways lead there? Or shall we hoof it?
Isabella DeMerini: I'll meet you at the Union Blue station at 1000.
Uriel Iscariot: Ah good point, I need to return my horsey.
Zach Dallas: My thoughts exactly
Dr. MacVellian: Goes back to the hotel to pack, then to the warehouse to get everything ready for transport
Bertha Bowers: Excuse me, if you are leaving, you need to pay up.
Uriel Iscariot: Sure thing!@
Bertha Bowers: MacVellian is paid up. Both Zach Dallas and Preacher Uriel owe $44.
Uriel Iscariot: Hands over [44$USD]
Zach Dallas: Yup
Zach Dallas: Not a problem
Zach Dallas: Gives $50
Zach Dallas: Thanks for the stay. Sorry for all the trouble
Uriel Iscariot: I thank you kindly for the generosity of hospitality I recieved whilst stayin 'ere.
Bertha Bowers: Well thank you Mr. Dallas. And if any of you are ever in Dodge again, feel free to stop in and see us.
Zach Dallas: Of course!
Uriel Iscariot: I'm off to horsey vendor
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM horsey vendor, how much do i get back for your noble steed?
Zach Dallas: Off to the horse vender again
The horse trader offers $100 for the returned horses.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Wait, what currency does Denver/etc use, and what type do I have?
Dr. MacVellian: I return mine (including the ones for the cart) after I drop off my mech to be loaded
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: If you have solid coins (which is what everyone has been getting paid in) then you are all set.
Zach Dallas: Heads off to the station
A ticket to the station nearest to Coffin Rock from Dodge City will cost $20.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): More cash money.....
Doctor MacVellian's cargo will cost her an extra $30, so $50 total.
GM: Cargo = Mech.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Did I just any money for the ones pulling the cart, or did I buy those?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): "Mech?" "Yes. He has a drill suit" "So he puts it on and drills through stuff? Like a mole person?" "Yes. Like a mole person."
Also, it is a two day ride from the station to Coffin Rock.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Nice
Isabella DeMerini: Well, it is about three days ride to the station where we part ways. So I hope you can handle train travel.
[w] Zach Dallas: do I have time to return Jonas' stuff?
Uriel Iscariot: I hope I can.
Isabella DeMerini: The train leaves in 45 minutes. If there is anything you need to do, take care of it.
Uriel Iscariot: Then again, we are probably going to have less inventors this time
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm going to Hunch it first to make sure that Grey was working alone, though
Uriel Iscariot: SO more chance of survival
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Yes, especially since you are at the Union Blue station. It will take about 10 minutes round trip, if you are a SLOW walker.
Zach Dallas: Spellcasting [1d8 = 10]
Uriel Iscariot: I must...go for a bit. I will be back before the train leaves
Uriel Iscariot: (wanders off)
[w] -> Zach Dallas: The hunch seems to indicate that she was working alone.
Dr. MacVellian: watches to make sure cargo is loaded securely
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6+2 = 7]
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM Tell stanton that he is one in a million and the best preacher ever, and to condemn gambling and cardgames, as they are horrid and lead to disasters as we have seen. then go back to train
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 10]
Isabella DeMerini: (sits by loading dock, takes a long drink from a bottle sitting next to her)
[w] Zach Dallas: am I being followed?
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: He takes all your words to heart.
[w] Zach Dallas: also, I check the ceiling
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Nope.
Dr. MacVellian: chats with Isabella while I wait
[w] -> Zach Dallas: It is a pretty normal looking ceiling.
Isabella DeMerini: So Doctor, what convinced you to become an inventor?
Dr. MacVellian: I've always been fascinated with how things work.
Isabella DeMerini: Fair enough.
Dr. MacVellian: I want to build things that benefit mankind, not the perversions of science that are only used for death
Dr. MacVellian: Like Dial's Titan
Dr. MacVellian: clenches fists in rage
Isabella DeMerini: Ah yes. I heard about that.
TADM: Eeek! Nerd rage!
GM: Assuming everyone makes it back to the rail station and gets on the train, we have a couple things to finish up quickly, then call it a night.
Zach Dallas: Hey, Doc, how are your finances holding up?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): oh, alright, then
Dr. MacVellian: Better than the preacher's I reckon
You file into the train, Isabella gets a sleeper cabin for herself.
Uriel Iscariot: I am never a poor man, for I am rich in the spirit.
Isabella DeMerini: I don't like trains. I plan on being asleep until we hit Denver.
Isabella DeMerini: But before I wander off to bed...
She flips open her saddle bags and roots around in them.
Isabella DeMerini: Here you go Zach, you can borrow this until we reach the station for Coffin Rock. Then I need it back.
[w] Zach Dallas: I'd like to take a shot at another Hunch on her
Zach Dallas: Oh, neat
She hands Zach a book. It looks old, tattered, and highly abused.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): what is it?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): OHO!
[w] Zach Dallas: Hoyle's Book of Games?
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Occult [1d6 = 15]
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d8+2 = 7]
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 5]
It is a copy of Hoyle's Book of Games. On the inside front cover is an inscription that reads, "For my darling wife and assistant, who helped so much. Love, Edmund."
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm redirecting that Hunch to the book
[w] Zach Dallas: this will be done in private
[w] -> Zach Dallas: You see an aged man handing the book to a woman who looks exactly like Isabella. He tells her to keep his original and notes safe.
She roots for a couple more seconds, then pulls out a small glass bottle with a substance in it that looks like honey.
Isabella DeMerini: Here Doc, you might need this.
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Occult [1d6 = 5]
Dr. MacVellian: Smarts [1d12 = 10]
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: You have no idea. It could be a bottle of honey for all you know.
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: It looks like a bottle of honey. You estimate that there are three good "gulps" in it.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): WORST. WHISPER. EVER.
She roots around for a couple minutes, then pulls out a small wooden Crucifix. It looks like it was carved from some driftwood.
Isabella DeMerini: Here you go Preacher, just in case.
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Occult [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 3]
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 3]
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 4]
Isabella DeMerini: Now, I have some sleeping to do.
She pulls out a bottle of vodka and takes a long pull.
Then she heads off to the sleeper cabin, closes it, and locks it behind her.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): You dont have a brother named Ivan, do you?
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): XD!
Zach Dallas: Can I look at the cross real quick?
TADM: Vodka puts her to sleep.
[w] Zach Dallas: I'd like to Hunch the Cross
TADM: And since she has Claustrophobia (Major) as one of her hindrances.
Zach Dallas: seems serious
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Spellcasting check.
Uriel Iscariot: Sure. But first you must do something to prove your faith.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): that explains why she was on top of the train the last time I saw her...
TADM: Indeed it does.
Uriel Iscariot: Here. This is easy. Beat this roll.
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Bible [1d6 = 4]
Zach Dallas: Kn Bible {--2 Untrained:Mike} [1d6-2 = 1]
GM: Anyone want to play with their toys?
Uriel Iscariot: Go ahead.
Zach Dallas is using a benny
Zach Dallas: Kn Bible {--2 Untrained:Mike} [1d6-2 = 9]
GM: Otherwise we call it a night.
Zach Dallas: Yes, sir?
[w] Zach Dallas: I would like to Hunch the cross first
Dr. MacVellian: I think I'm good. Analysis can wait
[w] Zach Dallas: share it with Tack. It doesn't apply too much to Nick
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Spellcasting check.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Yah sure, Ill do the turtle thing with the new crucifix in front of the train. Priest 1, technology 0.
Zach Dallas: Spellcasting [1d8 = 6]
Zach Dallas is using a benny
Zach Dallas: Spellcasting [1d8 = 4]
Zach Dallas is using a benny
Zach Dallas: Spellcasting [1d8 = 7]
Uriel Iscariot: :im good:
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Would the Quickness power make my mech faster than a horse?
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: It would give you two actions per round until you ran out of power points. So for a short period, yes. For a long ride, no.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Dallas You see a group of men dressed in weird segmented armor, one of them looks up. As you follow his gaze, you see three men being taken down from crosses. One of the guards says something in Latin, which you don't understand. There is a woman standing next to him, who again looks much like Isabella. She also says something in Latin. Several of the men step forward and pull the crosses down.
[w] Zach Dallas: WHAT THE
[w] Zach Dallas: where is the little cross in this picture? Can I tell its origin?
Dr. MacVellian: Ok. I'll send you a PM when I decide what to do
[w] Zach Dallas: Also, is Isabella clearly Whateley in this picture?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: She has the trademark lock of white hair on one temple.
[w] Zach Dallas: Green eyes? Or is this in sepia?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Brilliant green eyes, between that and the hair, you are pretty sure it is her.
Zach Dallas: UH
Zach Dallas: UH
Zach Dallas: UH
Zach Dallas: Don't break that
Zach Dallas: Uh
Zach Dallas: How do I put this....
Uriel Iscariot: what did you do?
TADM: Hmm...I wonder if Uriel should get the Hindrance, "Wanted (Catholic Church) - Major"
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): That would be awesome
Zach Dallas: Let's just say that I'm pretty sure this cross was present at the Crucifiction
Uriel Iscariot: Holy Rood!
Zach Dallas: and you should know how common hand-held crosses were at the time...
Zach Dallas: Also, Isabella was there. Hell if I know how this makes sense.
TADM: Meanwhile, Nick is thinking, "Man, I got a stupid bottle of honey"
Uriel Iscariot: ...
Uriel Iscariot: WHAT>
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I'd check on that, but it's probably not too old
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): no interesting past
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): No. Nick is thinking "I will do the analysis on my own, free of whispers or sleep deprivation"
Campaign saved.
