Kazemi (Volmalric): *record scratch* Hi, I'm Meltam Perandus. You might be wondering how I got in this situation here.
There is much stomping of feet and running around in the dark, plus some flashing of metal going on and scary beady eyes.
Warriors 3, 6, and 12 run over and begin tying Slumbara up in ways that would suggest all level of kinky naughtiness if Slumbara was awake and a willing participant.
Tack (Meltam Perandus): FWIW, most Trek characters tend to me hilarious caricatures until like 80% through the episode and they had their epiphany.
The other warriors run into the light and engage in vicious slashing and stabbing of Meltalm and Volmalric.
Meltalm is relatively unharmed from this onslaught, Volmalric gets rather viciously stabbed and is now rather bloddy and leaking bodily fluids from inappropriate places. And he has suffered 2 Wounds.

Slumbara finds Delia staggering back towards the group, she appears to have been stabbed in the shoulder and looks a little paler than normal.
Volmalric heads over towards Delia to check out her injuries

Meltalm and Volmalric are evidently quite intent on making sure Delia is not poisoned, injured, or otherwise in danger.
Volmalric struggles to respond, or even breathe, with Slumbara's hands around his neck
Meltam Perandus: Forgive me Delia, it was too dark to really get a handle on things, do you have any light?
Volmalric: I had, I am apparently much better at treating wounds than preventing them
Slumbara: Slumbara is mainly good at causing wounds
Delia: Oh, I was, nicked by one of them when I was trying to dive out of danger. I'm not much of a fighter so I was hoping I could find somewhere to hide and then figure out a rescue plan for Slumbara.

Meltam Perandus sifts through the slain Derro.
You are able to patch up Delia enough that she recovers her lost Vigor points easily.
Slumbara pulls Volmalric's arrow out of his arm
The slain Derro have a large collection of big daggers, what looks like "giant-beetle-hide" armor, and very little else of consequence.
Delia begins rummaging through her pack.
Slumbara: Hmmmm... Very suspicious. None of these people have bows.... Volmalric, can you explain this?
Slumbara: How would I have spontaneously grown an arrow out of my arm?
Volmalric collects the arrow from Slumbara and wraps it up for experimentation later. He also collects a couple vials fo blood from the small creatures.
Meltam Perandus: the cowardly ranged combatants fled!

Slumbara: Impossible, when I awoke from my slumber I could smell their ambitions and feel their childhood trauma

Volmalric: It was an attempt to get you awake as soon as possible. Let me patch up your arm here.

Volmalric helps Slumbara by wrapping up the puncture wound on his arm, using a little powder to help stop the bleeding

Meltam Perandus waits with anticipation to see Delia work the magic!
Delia retrieves a small blue orb from her pack and holds it close to her mouth. She appears to whisper something to it and then holds it up.

Delia cups the stone in both hands close to her chest.

The room is flooded with brilliant blue light that scours away the darkness and and floods down the tunnels in every direction.
Meltam Perandus: This is incredible!
This does have the downside of completely blinding Volmalric for an indeterminate amount of time.

Slumbara picks up Volmalric like Richard Gere and Julia Roberts and walks towards the other end of the cave

Delia: Well, it is powered off my life force, so I'd prefer for it not to go out any time soon, but it does take energy, so I'd prefer not to keep it running for a really long time.
Slumbara: If you get sleepy, Volmalric can give you some of these drugs
Slumbara: They are really great
Delia: It is an Atlantean crystal, they would attach these to headbands on slaves in mines to keep them sedated and let them see what they are doing.

Slumbara has determined the tunnel to the "north" does slope upwards and looks like it was originally a natural tunnel but has since been excavated to be large enough for people to travel it. Assuming the people are about 5' in height.

Delia: Well, Acheronians were way worse when it comes to that, but yeah, the histories and reality don't always agree.

The western tunnel slopes down, but is wide enough and tall enough for Slumbara to walk and swing a sword (or a Volmalric.
Slumbara agrees with Meltam (it must be the drugs) and gets down on his hands and knees, tossing Volmalric onto his back like he is riding a horse
Meltam Perandus: Volmalric, pick a few of these rocks with you, a good chemist like you may be able to learn much from the, ore not depending.

About two hours of upward climb later (and Volmalric going from "completely blind" to "I see darker blurs moving around lighter blurs") you reach a cave exit. Clustered around the cave are a slew of old clay circular huts, some of which have collapsed. There is a well nearby. The sandstorm appears to have hit the wall behind you and dissipated, leaving a striking reddish sky overhead.
Delia: Okay, I'm ready for a break.
Delia sets down the stone and the glow stops.
Meltam Perandus: You deserve it!
Volmalric: A break sounds good. I think my sight is starting to come back!
Slumbara: I will play some tuba music to help everyone relax

A man dressed in tattered Aquilonian armor steps out of one of the clay huts (that is less damaged than the others) and waves at the group.
Edgarth: By Mitra! I never expected to hear such beautiful tuba music again in my life!
Edgarth: I'm Edgarth, what brings you people here?
Slumbara: I'm not sure, probably magic
Slumbara: Where are we?
Edgarth: Yeah, magic for me too, completely and totally sucked.

Meltam Perandus: But pretty much anything you say is 100% believable considering no mean adventurer could have made it this far.
