Three oily black shapes coalesce out of the smoke pouring from the tuba. They look like some combination of pig and lizard, carrying broad headed axes. You get a definite sense of extreme "wrongness" about these creatures.

The group is not terrified and mentally traumatized by the appearance of these foul creatures of the outer dark. But it is obvious they did not come for cuddles or autographs from the great Warrior-Poet-Playwright Slumbara. They prepare to charge the group.

Slumbara charges Dark Beast 1 and 2, swinging his mighty sword at Dark Beast 2 and letting out a battle cry

The creature brings its axe up, catches Slumbara's sword deftly in with the sword hook on the end of the axe, and with a practiced twist sends Slumbara's sword flying the opposite direction of the mighty warrior's momentum. The other creature sticks out a foot and trips Slumbara as he staggers past the surprising parry.
Meltam: Though I am surprised that it didn't summon something worse than this.
Iskendra: NPCs can't parry!
Iskendra: ...No...wait... I'm an NPC. Eff that. I can parry all I want.

Meltam runs forward, dives under the attempted heavy axe parry and slashes the ankle of one of the creatures. It howls in pain and drops to one knee.

Dark Beast #2 hits Slumbara in the torso with the flat of the axe, the blow is strong enough the warrior is picked up and smashed into Beast #3, who, already hobbled with the slashed hamstring, is knocked prone, now with a Slumbara lying on top of him.
Slumbara avoids the worst of the effects by being the mighty Slumbara, and also wearing armor.

Volmalric flings a potion at the hapless, hamstrung creature who is clearly having a bad day. He takes a massive inhale to let out another bellow of rage, only to have a bottle of some concoction sail into his open mouth.

Iskendra runs in the direction of the tuba and begins chanting something, which sounds horribly incorrect to Meltam.
But before he can stop her, a large clawed beast erupts from the tuba, destroying it. As light flares around the room, four additional spectral shapes briefly cross your vision. There are a multitude of enemies now, and these pig-lizard interlopers are just the warm-up.
Iskendra: Oh, drat. I think I said that backwards. Because, you know, triple 20s is a bad thing to roll on Sorcery.
Tack (Meltam): (that feel when you try to be constructive, and accidentally an entire demon host)
