Slumbara rolls a Lore test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.1+1d20.16 = 17]
Slumbara: You succeeded and generated momentum!
Slumbara's carefully constructed props in the now forgotten play erupt into flames.
Slumbara: Hello flaming columns of Mitra, before you purge Volmalric, should we not give him a chance to repent annd accept the truth and virtue of Mitra into his heart?
Slumbara: If he repents and truly accepts Mitra into his heart, surely you can forgive his mistake and allow him to make ammends
Slumbara rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.15+1d20.8 = 23]
Slumbara: You did succeed!
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: Hmm... if I pull his heart out and burn out the impurities and put it back, that might work.
Slumbara: I am not sure that is how human's work
Slumbara: I think once you take the heart out, it doesn't work anymore
GM: [24]
GM rolls a test:
Target: 24 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Doom: 1 [1d20.17+1d20.3 = 20]
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: You succeeded and generated doom!
Slumbara: Maybe just disfigure him a bit
Slumbara: Or, burn a brand of Mitra into his sinful flesh
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: Oh, that might work also, maybe a big flaming M emblazoned on his forehead to warn others?
Meltam rolls a Sorcery test:
Target: 11 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.18+1d20.4+1d20.5 = 27]
Meltam: You succeeded and generated momentum!
Slumbara: That is a good idea, but the back is much larger, perhaps a large Mitran Phoenix across his back
Meltam rolls a Lore test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.2+1d20.6 = 8]
Meltam: You succeeded and generated momentum!
Slumbara: Or both
Volmalric What's a good classic redemption method for Mitra
Volmalric rolls a Lore test:
Target: 12 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [2d20.6 = 12]
Volmalric: You succeeded and generated momentum!
Slumbara does some quick sketches and holds them up for the Mitra demon
Slumbara rolls a Craft test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.12+1d20.5 = 17]
Slumbara: You did succeed!
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: Oh, I like that one!
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness gestures to one of Slumbara's quick sketches with a tendril.
Volmalric: I hate to intervene, but branding and burning out of disbelievers is not typically one of Mitra's tenants.
Greater Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness puts on a pair of glasses and moves closer to check out the pictures, which has the unfortunate side effect of setting the flammable paper on fire.
Meltam: May I suggest that we just run, fast, out of this place? No need to do battle here
Slumbara steps back to observe Volmalric's attempt to mitra-splain the Mitra elementals from a safe distance
Volmalric: Redemption is not earned through burning, but through actions and penance. Through spreading Mitra's word, rather than just flames. It's important to spread the goodness itself, just as much as it is to remove demons and resist temptation. Should we not live life with the forgiveness Mitra preaches?
GM: Slumbara wisely gets behind the lead shield.
Volmalric used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Volmalric rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 12 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.15+1d20.5 = 20]
Volmalric: You succeeded and generated momentum!
A Doom chit has been used by the GM
GM: [12]
GM rolls a test:
Target: 12 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 2 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Doom: 0 [2d20.8 = 16]
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: You did succeed!

Kazemi:
[1d20.15 = 15]
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: Your words have merit, however, you have committed murder and defiled the name of Mitra with your heresy. What do you suggest as penance?
Greater Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: Can't we just burn off one of his arms?
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: I shall take your suggestion under consideration.
Greater Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: I vote the very small one that already has a burning sensation when he urinates.
Slumbara holds up his Mitran Phoenix drawing and does a Vanna White
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: True, he probably wouldn't notice that one if it was singed off entirely. I don't think humans use it for anything useful anyway.
Slumbara laughs
Meltam Wonders if the next thing Volmalric will scold them for is incendiary comments....
Slumbara: They're talking... about your penis...
Slumbara continues laughing
Volmalric deadpans his response
Volmalric: I am aware
Meltam rolls an Observation test:
Target: 12 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.10+1d20.19 = 29]
Meltam: You did succeed!

Tack:
[1d20.15 = 15]
Volmalric rolls a Lore test:
Target: 12 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.14+1d20.15 = 29]
Volmalric: You did not succeed.
Volmalric: I would like to offer my services to Mitra more formally. To make amends for the loss of life here, and to offer...
Volmalric appears to be physically pained
Volmalric holds out his pack with his alchemical equipment and notes.
Volmalric: I cannot replace the life lost, but I can offer my own life. Not my breath, but in my work and achievements, with the life I build from here out as one of atonement in the name of Mitra
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: Hmm....
Greater Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: SOLD!
Greater Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness ignites the pack, the contents, and as a side effect, Volmalric.
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: Well, I guess your offer has been accepted by a larger fiery burning goodness than me.
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness checks INT rating of creature summoned by spell it cast and sighs.
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness (whispers): Evidently the bigger we get, the stupider we are.
Slumbara: So the opposite of humans
Slumbara: While I have you, can you destroy this as well
Slumbara holds out a bag
Greater Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: NOM NOM NOM!
Volmalric staggers back and does the stop-drop-roll
Slumbara thinks better and tosses it onto the floor
Greater Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness leaps on the offered bag and melts it down to a slick puddle of gooey and oil.
Slumbara: Thanks
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: Normally backpacks made of cloth do not turn into blackish, nonflammable oil.
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: You people have weird possessions.
Slumbara: You don't know the half of it
Meltam: I will advocate for getting the hell out of Dodge.
Slumbara: Yup, we have places to be, servitors of Set to kill
Slumbara: It was nice meeting you
Slumbara waves to the fiery Mitra elementals
Meltam: Slumbara the crowd has all fleed in terror
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: Yes, I hope next time we meet you have a reformed Priest of Mitra with you, instead of this heretical murderer who is trying to be a Priest of Mitra instead of just accepting cool, perpetually burning tattoes over 2/3 of this body.
Greater Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: I'm not sure what was in this bag, but I'm getting something of an upset stomach. I feel like I just ate something really bad.
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: Hmm... let me unsummon you before you vomit something we all have to deal with.
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: Well, off I go.
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness glares at Volmalric.
Volmalric puts the flames out on himself
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness: I will be watching your level of heresy VERY CLOSELY.
Fiery Burning Column of Mitra Goodness vanishes.
Volmalric: That is going to require a lot of research
Meltam: Let's scram!
Meltam: There's no way we are going to be able to account for Iskendra
Meltam rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 10 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.15+1d20.6 = 21]
Meltam: You did succeed!
Slumbara: yes, we have all we need to dispel the servitor's shield
Meltam: I have scanned an exit, let us depart!
Meltam rolls an Athletics test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.12+1d20.19 = 31]
Meltam: You did not succeed.
Slumbara rolls an Athletics test:
Target: 13 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.2+1d20.20 = 22]
Slumbara: You succeeded and generated momentum!
Meltam tries to make a "man of action" leap towards the exit, slips on spilled wine from when the play was disrupted, and wrenches a knee. Slumbara runs over and throws him over a shoulder, but is not paying close attention and does not realize that Meltam is not made of tough sinewy muscles and succeeds in dislocating a hip and spraining his groin.
GM: Group has now suffered more penalties from trying to leave the room than from fighting the Mitran Fire Elemental.
Volmalric follows after the pair of them, allowing Slumbara to lead the way
Meltam tries to play tough guy, but is obviously doing a poor job of hiding the pain he is in.
Slumbara: We should find a safe place to make camp and lick our wounds
Meltam: Great advice!
GM: Slumbara does have Meltam nicely snuggled up in a way that will allow for rapid transit of the injured man through the volcano.
Slumbara rolls a Survival test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.14+1d20.4 = 18]
Slumbara: You did succeed!
Meltam rolls a Survival test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.20+1d20.6 = 26]
Meltam: You did succeed!
Slumbara picks the best route out of the volcano, and then gets talked into taking a slightly different path because of Meltam's advice, which adds about an hour to the journey. The night sky is cloudy and dark when you emerge.
Slumbara looks for a safe place to make camp and attempt some healing rolls
Meltam: Whew! Thanks Slumbara, your strength is only rivaled by the power if your kindness
Slumbara rolls an Observation test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [2d20.16 = 32]
Slumbara: You did not succeed.
The party has now reached the spot marked "P" on the map.
Slumbara: It is dark, Slumbara cannot see much
Meltam: Can we run even further away from the volcano?
Meltam: Eventually they will come for us
Volmalric: The "eventually" may take a while, given the tuba and the spirits
It is definitely dark enough that you need to either consider torches or not going very far. You are standing on the side of a volcano, with no obvious path, and the stars overheard are just bright enough that you can tell you are out of the volcano.
Volmalric: I think that may have gone differently than the last times
Actually, the strange glowing veins of blue stone that provided the ambient light *INSIDE* the volcano was brighter.
Volmalric: We need to rest up, and see to our wounds. I'm not sure a fire at this time is a good idea, though
Volmalric: Slumbara, do you have first aid supplies?
Slumbara: Yes
Meltam: Methinks we are going to have to use clothes
Slumbara holds up his survival kit
Slumbara takes the pict scalps off of it
Volmalric: Eeww
Volmalric gingerly takes the kit
Volmalric: Okay, who's injured?
Slumbara lifts his shirt to reveal a gaping chest wound
Volmalric: Ooof, yeah
Meltam: Can we just triage whatever critiical wouds we have, and then get back on the move?
Meltam used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Volmalric: Let me treat my burn first, and then I'll fix address that. Lay down a bit
Meltam rolls a Sorcery test:
Target: 11 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.12+1d20.18 = 30]
Meltam: You succeeded and generated momentum!
Volmalric rolls a Healing test:
Target: 13 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.5+1d20.9 = 14]
Volmalric: You succeeded and generated momentum!
Meltam morphs into a rather derpy looking bat after babbling some words into the air.
Volmalric notices Meltam shrinking down dramatically
Meltam gestures you to follow him through the darknesss
Volmalric: I, uh, can I treat Slumbara first?
Slumbara: Yes
Volmalric used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Volmalric rolls a Healing test:
Target: 13 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.16+1d20.5 = 21]
Volmalric: You succeeded and generated momentum!

Kazemi:
[1d20.7 = 7]
Kazemi (Volmalric): That's four successes and two momentum!
Slumbara: Ah that feels much better
Volmalric: So, Meltam is a...thing
Volmalric: Who is directing us to follow him
Volmalric: I think he did something to let himself...see in the dark?
Slumbara: Yes, everything will be ok. Nothing bad will happen
Slumbara rolls a Counsel test:
Target: 8 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.14+1d20.5 = 19]
Slumbara: You did succeed!
Meltam squeak. Squeak? Squeaky-snarf.
Volmalric: Meltam says to hurry up
Slumbara follows Meltam
Slumbara rolls an Animal Handling test:
Target: 12 Focus: 4 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.12+1d20.7 = 19]
Slumbara: You succeeded and generated momentum!
The group, led by a morbidly obese bat incapable of flight, makes it down the side of the volcano.
Scholar King: This is new.
Scholar King scribbles notes in his journal.
GM: Shoo, bad NPC.
You see winking, glowing blue and white lights in the distance, at various spots in the marshy bogland around the volcano.
Volmalric: Ah, yes
Volmalric: We were to remain on the path specifically on the way in
Volmalric: Can you see the path, Meltam?
Meltam rolls an Observation test:
Target: 12 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.16+1d20.20 = 36]
Meltam: You did not succeed.

Tack:
[1d20.4 = 4]
Meltam Attempts to guide the party to somewhere reasonably safe.
Meltam Chirp-squeak. (Exits are N, NW, and S)
Although it takes a while, thanks to the waddling speed of the morbidly obese bat, you are able to pick your way through the bog without anyone dying.
You are now quite exhausted, but away from the volcano and standing on solid ground outside the hilly bogland. Amazingly, you have managed to procure the items needed to kill the Servitor of Set.
Servitor of Set whispers something about blind squirrels finding nuts.
Volmalric: Meltam
Volmalric: You need to lose weight
Slumbara: Or gain muscle
Feneril (Slumbara): for the record, Slumbara is 5'6" and 245 lbs
Meltam: Whew.
Meltam Coughs up a hairball
Meltam coughs up several beetles and mosquitos
Meltam: Okay, well I think we are safe here to rest, recooperate, and assemble the Spear
Slumbara: Yes, on that note...
Slumbara reaches behind his back and takes out the bad blood, the dragon tears and the crocodile fang
Meltam: Hrm. Is there some sort of incantation or ritual we need to do?
Slumbara: The School master said we have to mix the blood and tear together, and soak the fang in it
GM: Slumbara is wise and takes good notes.
Meltam: This sounds like a job for our expert alchemist
Slumbara: Slumbara agrees
Meltam looks at Volmalric
GM: Two lead shields appear from nowhere for the non-alchemists to get behind while Volmalric tries "science".
Volmalric: I'm cannibalizing your survival kit for parts
Meltam puts ear protection on, eye protection on, and various other PPE
Volmalric: Do we want to do it now, or as we're getting ready to fight the Servitor?
GM: Volmalric wonders if you have a bowl of suitable size to actually perform the mixing.
Slumbara: Now is good, Slumbara thinks it would be good to have the weapon before fighting the snake monster
Volmalric rolls an Alchemy test:
Target: 13 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.15+1d20.7 = 22]
Volmalric: You did succeed!
Volmalric: Okay, so we'll want to have a larger bowl than just the pack for this
Volmalric: Ideally something like a cauldron would work well, with a fire beneath it to get the reagents to the right temperature to bond
Meltam: Excellent!
Meltam: Basically, this would have been great to know before we high tailed it out of the Dragon City
Volmalric: Definitely need something sturdier than this flimsy pack
Meltam: But that's okay, surely we can procure these things other ways
Slumbara: Slumbara has no bowls
Slumbara: If only we had a tuba...
Volmalric: Oh no
Volmalric: That would have been terrible
Volmalric: We'll have to get materials elsewhere
Volmalric: There are ruins in the distance there
Volmalric: Shall we go check it out?
Slumbara: Perhaps in the morning when it is light
Meltam: There can be no harm in it?
Currently no one is hungry. You find this rather suspicious, since none of you can remember the last time you ate something.
You are all feeling very tired though, like a good nap would be helpful.
As a result of this sleepiness, you all take a nap and wake up feeling....
Tune in NEXT WEEK!
Campaign saved.
