Volmalric lifts a glowing flask up, swinging it around to get a good look at the walls around them
Meltam rolls an Observation test:
Target: 12 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.12+1d20.5 = 17]
You succeeded and generated momentum!

Tack:
[1d20.6 = 6]
The group finds themselves at the bottom of the stairs. The ground is slick with a strange greenish moss. Off to the north and east the moss is replaced with puddles of brackish yellow water that smells strongly of sewage, but you are not sure why as the walls themselves seem quite secure and tight.
There are thick bound steel doors at the ends of all three tunnels.
Volmalric rolls a Survival test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.3+1d20.5 = 8]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Meltam: Well, so far so good
Meltam: Time to put some of the tools to use!
Volmalric: Relatively normal moss
Slumbara: Perhaps one of you magically smart types should try to figure out why Asgrim tried to kill us
Slumbara: Slumbara only knows one way to deal with people trying to kill me, and it wouldn't be very nice
Meltam: Oh, it's just a common mistake for Asguardians, much like if I accidently bumped into you on the street.
Meltam rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 10 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.6+1d20.9 = 15]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Sigurd: He was probably ensorcelled by some hot woman in tight clothes. After all, he was married to one for a while and she caused him all sorts of problems.
Meltam: I'd make nothing of it.
Volmalric: Whatever it is that tried to ensorcel him, it's down here
Volmalric: It wants us down here, but not necessarily all at once
Meltam: Shall we move EAST?
Volmalric: Why east?
Meltam: It's dry and we are looking for a book.
Slumbara: Do you want to trek through the sewage?
Sigurd: But I definitely do not want to leave him lying around here, I suspect both the moss and the stinky puddles, so let's find a drier looking spot to leave him at. I'm sure he will not wake up and then try to hunt us down and stab us in the dark. Actually, we should probably hogtie him when we leave him somewhere. It's okay, he's used to waking up hogtied and naked, based on the number of times I've found him like that in a cart.
Meltam: Slumbara! This is your kink!
Volmalric: The downside is if there's something else down here
Volmalric: Come, let's head down the dry path
Volmalric: Oh, also
Volmalric: I have a couple other glowing flasks
Meltam rolls a Thievery test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.5+1d20.6 = 11]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
You reach the door, no poisonous darts fly out of the wall and leave you painfully debilitated and gasping for breath... yet.
Volmalric: But, I also have a potion that, when applied to the eyes, should allow one to see in the dark
Volmalric: I, uh, haven't tested it, but it's offered for you if you'd like to try
Slumbara rolls an Insight test:
Target: 8 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.13+1d20.19 = 32]
You did not succeed.
Slumbara grabs the potion and slathers it on his eyes
Volmalric rolls an Alchemy test:
Target: 13 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.20+1d20.6 = 26]
You did succeed!
Volmalric: Oh Mitra
Volmalric: Okay, so, I HAD two spare bottles
The door has a handle on it and no visible lock. It appears to open outward.
Volmalric: But it looks like one of them spilled in here, and the labels have come off

Sigurd:
[1d6.2 = 2]
Volmalric gives Slumbara a small vial
Volmalric: Just a drop in each eye, try not to put more. If it wears off, you can apply it again
Volmalric: And don't look directly into light
Volmalric rolls an Alchemy test:
Target: 13 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.13+1d20.20 = 33]
You did succeed!

Kazemi:
[1d20.13 = 13]
Meltam: Sigurd, can we borrow a light?
Slumbara: Very nice, I can see your aura
Slumbara rolls an Observation test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.14+1d20.20 = 34]
You did not succeed.
Meltam rolls a Thievery test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [2d20.2 = 4]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Meltam: Here, you'd best leave the subtle work to me
Meltam Attempts to diagnose the door for traps before choosing how and when to open it.
Sigurd offers torches to anyone who wants one. Slumbara is not appreciative of really bright glowing heat sources though.
Meltam: Thanks!
In fact, Slumbara stares at the torch, wondering when it became so "sun-like" and now can only see spots all over for the next room.
Meltam gingerly opens the door with a wide smirk on his face.
Meltam: Nothing to worry about, come on in!
Slumbara: Slumbara does not worry
You enter a room with four pews facing a statue of a large bull looking deity. There is a plaque on the far wall written in Acheronian, but you have no idea what it reads. There is a small altar in front of the bull with a number of burned out candles and incense on it. The room seems nicely calm and peaceful.
Sigurd plops Asgrim down on a pew and removes his weapons.
Sigurd: Slumbara, if you want to get kinky tying him up, go for it.
Slumbara gleefully ties Asgrim up
Slumbara rolls a Survival test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.13+1d20.4 = 17]
You did succeed!
Volmalric steps in and looks around the plaque and the statue, checking it out for runes, symbols, and sizes
Sigurd: Wow, that was fast, good job!
Slumbara: Slumbara has much practice
Volmalric rolls a Lore test:
Target: 12 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.10+1d20.17 = 27]
You did succeed!
Sigurd inspects Slumbara's work, considers what this implies about Slumbara's character.
Slumbara rolls an Observation test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.10+1d20.20 = 30]
You did not succeed.
Slumbara looks around for any books
Meltam rolls an Observation test:
Target: 12 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.8+1d20.9 = 17]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Slumbara carefully inspects things, knocks over a few candles, breaks an incense container AND notices the bull statue is anatomically correct AND that is one "ENDOWED" bull.
GM: All other bulls might be intimidated...
Slumbara regards the large bull penis and ponders
Slumbara: I wonder if the dick murderer worships this giant-penis bull god?
Slumbara rolls a Lore test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.13+1d20.2 = 15]
You did succeed!
Meltam: Yeah, it's gonna be hard to steer Slumbara's interests away from that thing...
GM: This is in the category of "Anaconda attached to a pair of grapefuit".
Meltam rolls a Thievery test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.19+1d20.3 = 22]
You did succeed!
Sigurd: Plus it is a stone statue, so once hard it stays hard...
Slumbara: ok, well that book we came looking for isn't here
Meltam: Well, unless you all want to say prayers to some long dead Sire of All Bulls, we should continue.
Sigurd: I'm good with that.
Slumbara: Agreed
Volmalric: So, that was most likely just the entry chamber for a memorial hall
Volmalric: This would appear to be some sort of family tomb
Slumbara: There seems to be less shit and piss to the north
Slumbara: we should try that tunnel next
Meltam: OOh Ooh me first
Meltam rolls an Observation test:
Target: 12 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.12+1d20.17 = 29]
You did succeed!
Slumbara: Go get em tiger
Volmalric waits in the big room, around the corner

Tack:
[1d20.15 = 15]
Slumbara slaps Meltam on the ass as he runs past
Meltam sends back a sly wink
Meltam dramatically opens the door in an effortless fashion
Meltam: There's only one rule here folks. Don't touch treasure until either Volmalric or I have inspected it for traps or curses.
You see a wide hallway, there are six stone sarcophagi in front of you, three narrow hallways beyond them that lead to stone doors, and the hallway branches east and west before turning north. The sarcophagi in front of you look very old and are covered with more Acheronian runic script.
Meltam: there are more nuanced dangers here....
There is no moss or water puddles in this area.
Volmalric: I do wish it was Atlantean, rather than Acheronian
The air seems a little more stale and stagnant than the previous rooms.
Meltam: Any insights. Volmalric ?
Slumbara: Slumbara will have a look
Slumbara rolls a Linguistics test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 4 Momentum: 3 [2d20.1 = 2]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Tack (Meltam): Kerbloom. You just got a doctorate in linguistics and could carve rosetta stones in moments.
Slumbara puts on his detective glasses
Slumbara: If Slumbara is reading this correctly, these boxes contain the guardian's of this tomb.
Slumbara: Fortunately, they seem to be tired
Slumbara: Or they would be out of their boxes, trying to kill us
Sigurd: Tired tomb guardians seems like a good thing.
Volmalric: They might also be waiting to activate at the very end, when we're deepest in the dungeon
Sigurd: Or as soon as we pick something up?
Slumbara: Maybe Volmalric should make a giant bomb
Volmalric: Yes, and put it right in the choke point?
Slumbara: and tie a trip wire around the lid of the sarcophagus
Volmalric rolls a Healing test:
Target: 13 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.2+1d20.8 = 10]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Slumbara gives 2 gold to Meltam
Meltam: Give me a moment. I wish to say a prayer to these guardians.
Meltam used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Meltam rolls a Sorcery test:
Target: 13 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.13+1d20.20 = 33]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Volmalric: Hold up, I'll be right back in a second
Everyone seems to be healthy, Slumbara is blinking a lot, especially when someone gets a torch near him. You are certain the people in the sarcophagi are pretty dead and decayed.
Meltam closes his eyes and murmurs indecipherably.
As he does the sides of the sarcophagi begin glowing a soft blue color for a few seconds, then dissipate. Suddenly through the middle door of the hallway in front of you, an imposing spectral figure floats towards you. It does not appear to be overly hostile, but looks withered and rotten.
GM: King of the Dead from Return of the King is a good mental image here.
Volmalric: Oh goodness
Ghost: Tsumbala ni kara klattua
Slumbara: Klaatu barada nikto
Ghost: At-tzu dara mie kahan no pokkana.
Ghost rotates towards Slumbara, face does not change expressions.
Sigurd: For the record, this was not part of the dream.
Volmalric (softly): I think we may wish to show reverence
Slumbara waves
Meltam: I will follow Slumbara's lead.
Meltam fumbles with strips of cloth covering up some self-inflcited wounds.
Ghost: Tugatta mishara no capppala mogartay
Ghost raises an arm and points to the right, towards the western tunnel.
Slumbara: Tug at a missionary acapella mortuary?
Volmalric: That sounded almost like Mishra
Meltam rolls a Society test:
Target: 11 Focus: 4 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.13+1d20.20 = 33]
You did not succeed.
Slumbara: Is that what you call Mitra when you're super drunk?
Volmalric: Or when you're from an ancient age
Volmalric: I've heard foreigners call Mitra worse, back when I was sailing
Slumbara: I plan to be drunk all the time in my ancient age
Slumbara: He seems to want us to go this way though
Slumbara looks down the tunnel the ghost pointed down
Slumbara rolls an Observation test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.17+1d20.9 = 26]
You did succeed!
The tunnel looks the same in both directions to Slumbara.
Slumbara: Well this ghost seems trustworth
Slumbara: Let's see what's down there
Slumbara heads down the tunnel to look around the corner
Meltam: I'm absolutely happy that you can communicate with it
Volmalric: Can you communicate with it, Slumbara?
Slumbara: Nope
Slumbara: But someone else came this way not long ago
Slumbara: So that is probably a good sign
Volmalric: That's unfortunate
Slumbara rolls a Survival test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.15+1d20.20 = 35]
You did not succeed.
Sigurd: I hope they didn't get the book before us.
Meltam: If they did, they may come to rue such a treasure.
Volmalric: I'm afraid that we're going to be ruing such a treasure far sooner
Slumbara: Whoever they were, they came and went some time ago.
Meltam: Did they take the book?
Slumbara reaches the end of the hallway, and the tomb goes forward for a short distance, then changes from the thick black Acheronian style flagstones to stone ground down and plain looking. There is a slight downward angle, the hallway narrows, then it looks like it reaches a very steep downward stair.
Slumbara: If they did, they must have carried it, there are no book footprints here
GM: Everyone make Discipline checks
Meltam rolls a Discipline test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.13+1d20.14 = 27]
You did not succeed.
Slumbara rolls a Discipline test:

You did not succeed.

Kazemi:
[1d20.3 = 3]
You all feel a slight chill, followed by a tugging at your minds like some sort of presence is pushing down on your consciousness. It is not a pleasant feeling.
The spectral figure vanishes from view, splitting into thousands of small blue motes that fade out.
Slumbara: Well we may as well keep going
Slumbara: The friendly ghost is probably a good sign
Slumbara heads deeper down the hallway toward the stais
Slumbara rolls an Observation test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.15+1d20.2 = 17]
You did succeed!
Meltam used a Fortune point to restore their Vigor to max.
Meltam follows Slumbara
Slumbara is at the top of a very steep stair that looks like it is carved out of obsidian... that or it is carved out of a black rock that is very slick to walk on. The stairs do not look natural, but the walls and ceiling of the stairwell look like the same natural stone the landing is made of, and rather normal in appearance. Even without any magical training, you can tell that something very odd is going on with these stairs.
GM: Everyone make another Discipline check.
Slumbara rolls a Discipline test:
Target: 10 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.4+1d20.6 = 10]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Meltam rolls a Discipline test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [2d20.18 = 36]
You did not succeed.
Meltam is feeling rather intimidated by all this oddness.
Slumbara is not scared of anything.
Volmalric used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Volmalric rolls a Discipline test:
Target: 10 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 4 Momentum: 3 [1d20.1+1d20.17 = 18]
You succeeded and generated momentum!

Tack:
[1d20.14+1d20.8 = 22]
Volmalric pats Meltam in the back as the man hesitates
Volmalric: Watch yourself, these stairs are dangerous
Sigurd: Right, so I don't remember stairs in the dream either.
Slumbara: Yes they are very steep, you might trip and fall
Slumbara leads the way down the stairs
Meltam rolls an Observation test:
Target: 12 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [2d20.6 = 12]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Volmalric: What do you remember from the dream?
Meltam makes it to the bottom of the stairs, amazed that Slumbara somehow managed to miss all four of the trapped steps by the simple expedient of taking them "two at a time". He also notices what looks some previous people who walked along this staircase were not so fortunate and were skewered by a lot of nasty darts and spiky bits.
Sigurd: Well, there is a well-lit room with a bunch of books and this one really weird looking one in the middle of the room, lying on the ground. That is the one Asgrim and I picked up and left with. There were some other rooms and tunnels along the way, but I don't remember staircases.
Slumbara gets to the bottom of the stairs and looks down the hallway.
Volmalric: Did any of the other rooms look familiar to you?
Slumbara: Slumbara doesn't think we will find any well lit rooms here
The hallway looks very dark and unexciting to Slumbara's infravision, but he can see that it extends farther than his vision goes.
Meltam rolls a Thievery test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.19+1d20.20 = 39]
You did not succeed.
Slumbara takes a glowstick from Volmalric and hurls it down the hallway
Slumbara rolls a Ranged test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.6+1d20.8 = 14]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Meltam asks himself the question, "I wonder if this trap resets?"
Tack (Meltam): if this was d20, oh gosh.
As he asks this, a number of sharp pointy darts fly out of holes and strike his exposed, soft, pliant skin. They burn and sting like mad.
Volmalric: Meltam, are you doing okay over there?
Meltam rolls a Resistance test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.19+1d20.8 = 27]
You did succeed!

Tack:
[1d20.19 = 19]
Kazemi (Volmalric): Reroll? What reroll?
Meltam also questions why everyone suddenly has green skin, why the world smells like orange juice, and exactly how many kumquats can he juggle from this bag that appeared in his hand. What he really questions though is why he is thinking these thoughts when he has far weightier things to consider, like why is the ground blue?
Kazemi (Volmalric): And the infamous question: "Was the ground always this close to my face?"
Slumbara attempts to suck the poison out of Meltam's arm
Slumbara rolls a Healing test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.15+1d20.2 = 17]
You did succeed!
Meltam: Woah, I totally feel better!
Slumbara: Dr. Slumbara is on the case
