Slumbara's torch sails through the air and lands with a spluttering gasp, bringing light to a gruesome scene. Scattered down the hallway are debris from what looks like hastily erected barricade in front of a pair of large stone doors that have been violently thrown open. There are scattered corpses, dessicated and long left rotting around the barricade.
Slumbara: Ah, it looks like the previous grave robbers may not have taken the book
Slumbara: This is good news
Slumbara investigates the corpses
Slumbara: On closer inspection, these bodies appear to have been dead for a very long time

Volmalric sticks Meltam with a needle, injecting him with a not-quite-glowing blue fluid
Meltam: Thanks!
Volmalric: There we go, you'll be fine for at least three hours
Meltam: Mitra be praised.
Volmalric: Additional traps notwithstanding
The area in front of you has a pair of double doors (that look like they were forcibly opened outward) with piles of debris and corpses in front of them and a corridor that continues ahead into the darkness.
Slumbara: Hmm, these bodies could not have been the grave robbers
Slumbara peeks through the doors
Meltam rolls a Thievery test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.14+1d20.4 = 18]
You did succeed!
Volmalric: I do not like the doors being opened from the inside

You did not succeed.
Slumbara peeks through the open doorway and notices there are stairs leading down that have further signs of combat, with dried blood splattered in places and discarded gear.
Slumbara: Shall we head deeper into the scary tomb?
Meltam rolls an Insight test:
Target: 11 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.1+1d20.15 = 16]

Meltam carefully inspects the scene infront of the party...

You did not succeed.
Slumbara: Hmm. Slumbara recognizes these uniforms. I saw them in a donkey show in Argos
Meltam shoots a skeptical eyebrow at Slumbara before re-focusing on the debris.
Slumbara: But I can't remember if the ones in the uniforms were the whores or the shepards...
Volmalric: Mmmm, I don't recognize them
Meltam: Not sure I agree there Slumbara. Honestly, it's surprising the gear and cloth have lasted so long down here, they are _very_ old.
Meltam: My going hypothesis is that, shortly after the tomb was sealed, someone close, a family member, etc. was interested in the book entombed here, and had every inclination to steal it.
Volmalric rolls a Healing test:
Target: 13 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.15+1d20.7 = 22]
You did succeed!
Volmalric kneels down to inspect the bodies
Slumbara: I suspect that these men were hired by the owner's of this tomb for entertainment purposes
Slumbara: But their orgy got out of hand and raised an evil from deep within the tomb
Meltam raises another eyebrow in mild disbelief of Slumbara 6
Slumbara: These brave call boys sacrificed their lives trying to save their lovers from certain death
Meltam: Entertainers would find a pretty dead crowd in here.
Volmalric: Something tore into them like animals
GM: Necrophiliac Acheronian Prostitutes, next week on Jerry Springer.
Tack (Meltam): XD
Volmalric: Bites and scratches, maybe undead or beasts?
Meltam: Onward!
Slumbara whistles as he descends further into the scary tomb
Slumbara: Perhaps a dick-eating monster
Slumbara checks their dicks
Slumbara rolls an Observation test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.15+1d20.16 = 31]
You did not succeed.
Volmalric follows Slumbara
Volmalric: You may wish to keep the whistling to a minimum. The sound will carry, and it's better to not disturb that which is sleeping
You head down the staircase and find another, comparable setup. This time the barricades look more complete, and the number of corpses here is far greater. Also, the doors here are also pushed open from the outside, but these are covered in Acheronian glyphs and wards, some of which have been clawed and mangled by something with enough force to be able to tear through solid stone work.
Sigurd: This was definitely not in the dream I had.
Slumbara: I hope not, that would be a pretty weird dream
Meltam rolls a Stealth test:
Target: 14 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.13+1d20.9 = 22]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Meltam: Entirely possible we are fearing nothing
Meltam: Perhaps someone conjured a beast, which as since returned wence it came, from the knowledge in the book.
Slumbara: Or it escaped and is tearing dicks off in Messantia
Volmalric: We're not that lukcy
Volmalric: And nothing escaped the tomb itself
Volmalric: Given the spirit we saw upstairs, we may wind up playing janitor
Slumbara: Don't rule it out, Slumbara is hoping to solve 2 mysteries for the price of one
Meltam: Slumbara, this happened literally a world age ago.
Meltam: It's not connected.
Meltam: And things that travel between worlds don't need to use the front door.
Volmalric: But who says the thing from the boat wasn't from an age ago?
Meltam: I suppose it could be, but the pattern of stalking and picking out one part of people id different than this wholesale slaughter
Slumbara: Detective Slumbara doesn't need your "facts"
Meltam: Slumbara was right to inspect their loins
Slumbara looks through the door
Slumbara: There is always time to inspect loins
Slumbara rolls an Observation test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.19+1d20.3 = 22]
You did succeed!
The next section ahead is a corridor, scrawled with a large number of glyphs and wards. There is a chalk like substance on the floor which might have been in really cool and intricate patterns at one point, but it has definitely been completed messed up by something(s?) which came this way from further down the corridor.
Meltam rolls an Insight test:
Target: 11 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.15+1d20.6 = 21]
You did succeed!
Slumbara inspects the powder
Slumbara: Hmm, Slumbara is not sure what drug this is
Meltam: Hold for a moment please.
Slumbara: But this is a lot of it, the orgy must have been very large
Meltam: This may be where the mundane meets the fantastical, in terms of defenses.
Volmalric: Oh, this is very bad
Volmalric: Is that chalk? Salt?
Slumbara: Cocaine?
Volmalric: Do not snort it
Meltam: Actually, better idea
Slumbara: Yes, Slumbara must be clear headed to protect my two weak friends
Meltam: Volmalric , do you have any inert powder?
Slumbara: No time for drugs right now
Volmalric: I've got plenty of inert powder, as long as you don't mix it with the wrong stuff
Volmalric rolls an Alchemy test:
Target: 13 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.19+1d20.4 = 23]
You did succeed!
Volmalric kneels down to take a look
Volmalric whistles
Volmalric: This is...really expensive
Volmalric: Crushed silver and gold, some...jade?
Meltam: Ooh ooh
Volmalric: This probably cost a small fortune
Meltam rolls a Thievery test:
Target: 10 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.14+1d20.7 = 21]
You did succeed!
Slumbara: So we definitely should snort it then
Volmalric uses a dagger to scrape at the edge, lifting some of the crusting material off the ground in little chunks
Meltam starts 'appropriating' as much of this power as possible into pouches and such
Volmalric: Very much no, it would have been poisonous before. It's coroded
Volmalric: Close to worthless now, I imagine
Meltam: What? Oh no.
Volmalric: Also, whatever it was here for is probably not going to mind it anymore
Meltam: You are an alchemist, can't you bring renew the luster of these metals?
Volmalric: Sigurd, what sort of unspeakable horrors did you dream and forget?
Volmalric shakes his head
Volmalric: Maybe individually, if it was sorted and not grimey and caked together, I could
Volmalric: But it would take time, and a lot of effort and reagents, and I don't have the right gear here
Meltam: Im still banking on the metals futures market.
Meltam: You can't talk me out of this!
Sigurd: Strangely, I do remember walking through a corridor littered with white powder. I remember the walls glowed blue though.
Volmalric: And I can't replace it, either. I've got some powdered silver, but no powdered gold nor jade
Meltam: I surmise your dream took place well before any of us were born.
Sigurd: It is starting to feel that way, but we still have not found the book that will make us all rich(tm)
Volmalric: On the plus side, at least you weren't one of the people in the first wave
Volmalric gestures to all the dead men
Volmalric: Or second wave? Are these people the same as the people from earlier?
Volmalric: I have half a mind to just blow up the tunnel here and lock whatever is down here away forever
All of the corpses you have found so far this session have the same uniform.
Meltam: That's short term thinking.
Meltam: Onward!
Slumbara So we definitely should snort it then
Meltam: Someone will find it!
Meltam: We cannot let it fall into evil hands!
Slumbara leads the way down the corridor
Slumbara rolls an Observation test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.1+1d20.15 = 16]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Meltam rolls a Stealth test:
Target: 14 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.18+1d20.9 = 27]
You did succeed!
Volmalric: On the contrary, blowing it up and burying it under tons of rubbel in a secluded and forgotten place is quite a long term strategy
Volmalric rolls a Lore test:
Target: 12 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.14+1d20.7 = 21]
You did succeed!
Volmalric looks for more clues about the nature of the people killed, and the tomb in general
Slumbara produces a blue metal ingot (it is about the size of Slumbara's hand) from his pack
Slumbara: Hmm, Volmalric, is it just me or are these glyphs coated in this stuff
Volmalric blinks twice and checks
Volmalric used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Volmalric rolls a Lore test:
Target: 12 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 2 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [2d20.20 = 40]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Volmalric: Oh Mitra
Volmalric: Slumbara, how much of this do you have?
Volmalric: Also, yes, this is the same stuff in the walls
Volmalric: I think that collapsing this part of the tunnel would be the worst possible thing to do
Meltam: Yes, let us move quickly lest we wake some ancient incantation
Volmalric: Also, I'm almost for backing out
Sigurd: But we haven't found the book yet! And the air down here is really stale, so we must be close.
Volmalric: I'd say we should back out, wall off this area, seal it with the Valusian blue steel that Slumbara has, and then collapse the area on the other side
Meltam: Volmalric, you would honor Mitra much by ensuring this knowledge remains in good hands.
Slumbara: That sounds like cowardice
Meltam rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 10 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.18+1d20.8 = 26]
You did succeed!
Slumbara rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.11+1d20.5 = 16]
You did succeed!
Volmalric: But the protective line on the edge here has worn away, and I'm concerned that there's the second exit
Volmalric rolls a Discipline test:
Target: 10 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.6+1d20.8 = 14]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Volmalric: Some things, Meltam, are best left forgotten. I think whatever is in this tomb is one of those things
Volmalric: Assuming we haven't let it out already
Slumbara: Well you are out-voted 3-to-1
Meltam: Clearly we aren't the only ones in this world with knowledge of this place
Sigurd: I think the way forward is the only way back.
Sigurd is speaking in a strange, stilted and wooden voice.
Meltam: Someone will go through any lengths to acquire the book
Sigurd begins walking forward.
Slumbara: If it makes you feel better Volmalric, make a big bomb just in case
Volmalric: I think destroying the walls here, with the blue steel worked into them, would cause more harm than good
Meltam rolls a Stealth test:
Target: 14 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.15+1d20.7 = 22]
You did succeed!
Slumbara: And if things go badly, we can fall back and collapse the ceiling behind us
Volmalric: The things hidden in here will not be stopped by things like walls and dirt and stone and blades
Volmalric: Do you have a dagger made of that steel?
Slumbara: Not yet
Meltam follows Siguard
Volmalric: Unfortunate
Meltam rolls an Observation test:
Target: 12 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.11+1d20.5 = 16]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Volmalric: Once you have that dagger, you'll likely be one of the best equipped person in all the known world
Volmalric: The cost of such a dagger is probably more than most royalty will ever see
Meltam motions Volmalric and Slumbara to follow
Volmalric: So you'll need to be careful with it. It's better against the things in the darkness, and you won't want to bother with people trying to steal your dagger
Slumbara: Slumbara is not planning to have a dagger made
Slumbara: Slumbara will have a large sword
Slumbara: Daggers are for tiny weak men
Slumbara: Like you and Meltam
Meltam: Both of you, quickly!
Volmalric follows Meltam
Meltam: You can compare swords later.
Slumbara follows Meltam
Slumbara: If you promise
Meltam: promise.
Meltam keeps pace with Siguard
There is a "whoosh" noise and a javelin with a glowing blue tip flies out of the wall and goes through Sigurd's chest. He keeps walking like he doesn't notice the sucking chest wound.
Slumbara: Are you ok Sigurd?
Sigurd: How frail these flesh husks are.
Sigurd looks at Slumbara.
Sigurd has a dozen darts stuck in his chest and arms.
Sigurd: I'm quite certain this one is dead, but it is okay, the physical form will be intact long enough for my needs. I apologize for having to borrow your friend like this.
Slumbara: Well friend is a strong word, we only went out drinking once
Volmalric: Slumbara, stop it!
Slumbara: And you are?
Volmalric: This thing in Sigurd's body
Sigurd: An Echo of what was, and what may yet be.
Sigurd looks at Volmalric.
Slumbara: Yeah, not vague at all
Sigurd: Silence.
Meltam: ooh ooh, can you tell me more cryptic riddles?
Volmalric used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Volmalric rolls a Discipline test:
Target: 10 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 4 Momentum: 3 [1d20.4+1d20.5 = 9]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Sigurd: I am <says something which is completely indecipherable and sounds like about 50 consonants stuck together.>
Volmalric: May Mitra save Sigurd's soul
Meltam used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Sigurd: But you may call me Echo should you need a name for me.
Meltam rolls a Linguistics test:
Target: 8 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.2+1d20.7 = 9]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Slumbara rolls a Discipline test:

You did not succeed.
Meltam rolls a Discipline test:

You did succeed!
Volmalric rolls a Discipline test:
Target: 10 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.1+1d20.16 = 17]
You succeeded and generated momentum!

Feneril:
[1d20.9 = 9]
Sigurd continues to walk forward down the hallway.
Slumbara: So anyways, I guess you gave Sigurd his dream?
Sigurd: I did not, as I have not the ability to project any power beyond the confines of this place. The way is not far, even for the flesh husks your luminous spirits occupy. As to what entity sent him the dream which brought him here, many such exist, I suspect a contemporary of the one who trapped me here is responsible. It makes sense for you to have come this way, for I sense his taint on you, and suspect you are responsible for his release into the world.
Slumbara points at Meltam
Feneril (Slumbara): If anyone is responsible for releasing things into the world...
Slumbara Here, let me get that for you
Meltam: I've never been farther north than Cimmeria
Meltam: Wasn't me.
Slumbara pulls the spear out of not-Sigurd's chest
Volmalric: Unfortunately, that's not as illuminating as I'd like
Slumbara pulls the javelin out of Sigurd's body, and other than oozing a lot, does not draw a response from Echo or Sigurd.
Meltam: Well......if you are confined to this tomb, what does possesing one of our friends do?
Sigurd: It is much easier to speak with you this way then try to reach you telepathically.
You follow Echo along the walkway for about 5 minutes, until you reach another set of doors. These are closed, and covered in an odd looking stonework which is entirely different from anything else you have seen here. In fact, it looks like the Acheronian portion of the tomb has ended and this is a different, even older style.
Sigurd reaches forward and touches the doors. (unless someone is going to stop it).
Volmalric: I do not like this
