Kuutai develops seasickness and runs off the boat to hide in a nearby apothecary as soon as it docks in the sprawling Hashimoto estate. As Kazuki, Ikuko, and Daichi get off the boat, a group of 20 female yamabushi approach you and take Ikuko into custody.
"Keiko": I thought I would be rid of you after we left the wedding
"Araki": What wedding?
Hida Sashimi: :D
Kurako: I have been instructed to take you to the wedding of Hida Sashimi and Akemi of the Gyoshen household.
"Keiko": Wow, I think I saw the future for a moment.
"Keiko": Which is particularly impressive given my inability to see the present
"Araki": What did it look like?
"Keiko": Very bright
Kurako: Any attempt to resist, bat your eyelashes, act cute, or in other ways do anything to hamper our efforts will result in your death. Am I clear, murderess?
"Araki": Probably atrophy
"Keiko": quite unlike what I am accustomed to
Kazemi ("Araki"): have I seen Kurako before?
TADM: No.
"Keiko": You are understood, but I am not the murderer in my family
Feneril ("Keiko"): BTW, you all get +1 to fighting damage rolls around me from now on
Kurako is a tall, deeply tanned woman who is very muscular and carries a Kanabo with the same ease that Hida carries chopsticks.
"Araki": When's the wedding?
Kurako: A week, and it will take 6 days of walking to get there.
Kurako sizes up Kazuki and decides he would not even be worth noticing in combat.
"Keiko": Then we should be off
Kurako: Are you one of her servants?
"Araki" looks as if it is all according to plan
"Keiko": We can't be lake to my dearest Akemi's wedding.
"Araki": Pretty much
Kurako: Very well.
Kurako leads the group south into the mountains near the border of Tahata Gaki.
Kazemi ("Araki"): Aquaphobia?
Fortunately, being guarded by 20 yamabushi means that you have no chance of random encounters.
Kazemi ("Araki"): not even from Void Walkers?
TADM: They don't come this far north.
TADM: For multiple reasons.
Kazemi ("Araki"): I didn't think they went to Doragon Mizu either...
TADM: Well then, maybe I'm lying. ;)
Kazemi ("Araki"): Wait, so where are we?
You arrive the day before the wedding, and find that the small estate along the base of "Blue Mountain" has been overrun with wedding guests.
Kazemi ("Araki"): Those super-far north mountains?
Numerous large pavilions can be seen, and as Daichi describes them to Ikuko, she nods as she realizes that most of her family is here.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Including "You Know Who" MWAHAHAHA!
Issiko, Emiko, Noriko, and Masuyo are all present, with good sized entourages.
Kurako: I have instructions to take you to the Lord's estate and leave you in his care.
Kurako: Follow me.
Kurako guides the group to the walled compound at the base of "Blue Mountain."
"Keiko": Knowledge (Nobility) [1d6 = 5]
"Keiko": Very well
"Keiko": Lead on
"Keiko": Servants, you may go enjoy the party
"Keiko": your presence with the lord would not be appropriate
Kurako leaves Ikuko and group. She and the rest of the yamabushi head over to Issiko's encampment.
Akemi: It most certainly would!
"Keiko": Akemi, I did not hear you!
Akemi: And thank you all for coming.
Akemi looks radiant in her "pre-wedding gown."
"Keiko" reaches out blindly toward Akemi with her arms open.
Akemi hugs Ikuko.
Akemi: The lord of this estate is most eager to meet you all. Come with me.
"Keiko": Of course
Akemi slides an arm under Ikuko's to guide her in the right direction.
Hida Sashimi joins the group
Akemi leads the group through a courtyard.

None of you spot anything unusual, a number of servants are tending the gardens. The place seems peaceful and idyllic.

Akemi removes her shoes, bows deeply, and leaves to get tea.
Gyoshen Daisuke: Ah, my niece, looking out for my best interests, are you?
Gyoshen Daisuke glances up at Kazuki.

"Keiko": As best I can, my eyes aren't what they used to be
"Keiko" smiles
"Araki" is using a benny
Gyoshen Daisuke: They are rather attractive though, my niece.
Gyoshen Daisuke looks over the rest of the group, and you notice that he has gold-flecked eyes, similar to Ikuko's but not solid in color.
Hida Sashimi: I want to thank you again for letting us have our humble ceremony at your estate
"Keiko": You are far too kind. They have no doubt been flushed red with the tears I have cried since learning of my father

Gyoshen Daisuke: It is I who am honored by your presence, all of you. The death of my elder brother was rather troubling; given that the oni which slew him, when questioned after their deaths, were quite adamant they were sent by Ikuko and two of her associates, a "Kazuki" and a "Kuutai" I believe they said.
"Keiko": Lies and slander, you know my father was most dear to my heart.
Gyoshen Daisuke: However, I doubt my niece would kill her father, but you are quite the evil and manipulative little bitch.
Gyoshen Daisuke smiles.
Gyoshen Daisuke: Which has always made me quite proud of you.
"Keiko": I served our house with more loyalty than many of my sisters could understand
Gyoshen Daisuke sets down his pen and gestures for everyone to be seated.
Akemi returns with tea.
Gyoshen Daisuke: Of course you have.
"Keiko": And I am told that Masuyo is here.
"Keiko": I have not seen her since her marriage to general Arishima
Gyoshen Daisuke: Masuyo is here, fortunately she did not bring her husband with her.
"Keiko": It is good that he let her out of his grasp
"Keiko": Such a possessive man!
"Keiko": I am looking forward to catching up with her and learning of the Tahatans
Gyoshen Daisuke: Indeed, it is good to see them all here.

Akemi pours tea for everyone and leaves to get snacks.

Gyoshen Daisuke: So...niece...aside from a general suspicion that you would not kill your father, what can you do to prove your innocence?
Gyoshen Daisuke: As you will find Tetsu Sangaku a hostile place until you do.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): That's really why I left lol

"Keiko": It would be difficult to provide an allibi, as apart from my travelling companions, everyone I was with at the time has been hunted and killed by the Ikusans.
"Keiko": But if people believe I am in collusion with the Oni

"Keiko": I will banish every last one of them if that is what is required, my father's true murderer must be punished

"Keiko": Many strange things, I am afraid that I am not entirely versed in the magical aspects of the world, but something dark is coming

Hida Sashimi: Sorry. Wanted to check on a couple things before the wedding, and I got a little lost. Very easy to get distracted by all the beauty here
Akemi looks at Hida.
"Keiko": And the ikusan dynasty is up to its arms in it
Akemi: I know, this place is quiet and peaceful, such a pleasant place to live.
"Keiko": My father always warned me to be suspicious of thier motivations

"Keiko": Were it not for Takako, our relations may not have been so cordial all the time
Gyoshen Daisuke: Indeed, we all must do our duty, although from what I hear, she is actually quite happy with her husband.

Gyoshen Daisuke: Intelligence in a spouse is not always a prized commodity.
Gyoshen Daisuke taps his fingers on the table.
Gyoshen Daisuke: Well, my staff will make accommodations for you within the walls. I recommend you not leave this compound tonight.
"Keiko": I will of course heed your warning

Akemi bolts to her feet and bows.
"Araki" bows
Gyoshen Daisuke: I have matters to attend to, we shall discuss more after the wedding.
Gyoshen Daisuke: I have enjoyed our conversation.
"Keiko": As have I
Gyoshen Daisuke leaves the room.
"Keiko" bows
Hida Sashimi bows
A dozen servants show up to escort you to your rooms. Daisuke has placed you in nice rooms, although you notice the floors are very creaky and they have very thick walls and tiled stone ceilings.
Akemi: This part of the estate is so noisy, it is almost like it would be impossible to walk around without making a lot of noise.
Akemi cringes as the floors creak under her weight.
Hida Sashimi fully expects the boards to break under his
"Keiko" laughs
Kazuki walks along the floorboards and into the rooms while making less noise than a mosquito.
Akemi wonders when Kazuki learned how to turn himself invisible.
Kazemi ("Araki"): about the same time we found those hot springs
Sensei: Okay, the night passes....who is doing what to induce a TPK before the wedding?
Feneril (Daichi): nothing from me
Nick (Hida Sashimi): eating and sleeping. Need to keep up my strength

"Keiko": Araki, I am going to bed. Would you be so kind as to help me into my nightgown? I do not wish to disturb Akemi on her big day.

Ikuko goes into her room.
All right, so time passes and the sun rises and the wedding tents and festival equipment get setup. A tall and regal looking monk arrives.
Hida looks well dressed in his black and red kimono. Ikuko's sisters are easy to pick out, they all have the same facial features (minus the eyes) and appearance that Ikuko does. People gather to watch the ceremony. Issiko is sitting to one side, looking quite happy. Her husband is nowhere to be seen. Kurako and the Yamabushi are waiting near Issiko's tent, about twenty yards away. They are the only group of armed people visible.
Hida Sashimi paces nervously
Emiko, Noriko, and Masuyo are clustered together, speaking in hushed tones about something.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Some of you may die. But that's a risk I'm willing to make
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Extreme listen check!
Nick (Hida Sashimi): nope
Ikuko is guided to the wedding area and brought over to where the three sisters are discussing something among themselves.
Ikuko: Sisters, I am so pleased that you are all here!

Emiko: Indeed, and it is so nice to see our wayward sister.
Noriko: Yes, they say travel and failure bring wisdom, you must be closed to enlightened, dear sister.
Ikuko: I can only hope and pray that my travels one day bring me the wisdom of Elder Gyoshen.
Emiko: Well spoken.
Noriko: Yes, yes it was.
Ikuko: That must be Emiko I hear.
Emiko: Yes, sister. Along with Noriko and Masuyo...
Ikuko: I wish that I had been born sooner, so that we might have spent more years together
Emiko: Well, Masuyo was here, she seems to have wandered off.

Noriko: I doubt anything short of death will remove her smile and pleasant demeanor.

A drum sounds and people take their places.
Ikuko: I hear lord Tsuji's court is most extravagent
Noriko: Cold, damp, and filled with people who have no trust of technology and the new ways.
Noriko: But my husband does throw a nice party, yes.
Ikuko takes her seat
Impressive Clergyman: Mawwiage. Mawwiage is what brings us together today....
Gyoshen Daisuke walks towards Hida, holding Akemi's arm.
Akemi smiles radiantly.

Kazuki is using a benny
Gyoshen Daisuke guides Akemi to her spot and gestures for her to take her seat. Then he nods to Hida to take his. He moves to one step behind Akemi, with a smile on his face.
Hida Sashimi patiently waits for someone to do something stupid, and hopes it isn't him
Emiko: Oh Ikuko, if you could only see how radiant Akemi looks, she is quite charming.
Noriko: Indeed, almost as beautiful as Issiko was on her wedding day.
Impressive Clergyman begins the marriage ceremony.
A number of acolytes assist him in setting up various items, ringing gongs, and chanting.
The ceremony lasts the better part of two hours. About 15 minutes in, Masuyo returns from wherever she went and sits down next to Ikuko.
Ikuko: I am sure Akemi is more beautiful even than you are giving her credit for.
Masuyo: My dear, sweet, baby sister, I am so happy to see you!
Ikuko: Masuyo!
Masuyo: We will have to catch up on old times!
Masuyo hugs Ikuko.
Ikuko: It has been far too long
Ikuko hugs Masuyo.
Ikuko: Your husband doesn't let you out engough!
Masuyo: I want to hear all about your trip to Sorimizu and I even heard you were hanging out with PIRATES!
Ikuko: They were SO frightening!
Ikuko: They tried to kill us!

Masuyo: Did you meet the notorious Captain Mitsu? I hear she is quite the rogue, and a self-made woman. Such a role-model for the lower classes.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Could you NOT talk during my wedding?!?
Masuyo looks shame-faced.
Masuyo: Err...we should be quiet.
Masuyo bows to Hida and Akemi.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Weddings, like movie theaters, should have trained archers to kill anyone who disturbs the "viewing experience"
Impressive Clergyman: I now pwonounce you man and wife.
Impressive Clergyman: You may now make many babies.
Impressive Clergyman claps.
The assembled audience rises to their feet and clap heartily.
The audience moves forward to offer well-wishes and presents to the happy couple.
Impressive Clergyman smells a TARP and leaves as fast as his chubby legs can carry him.
Hida Sashimi gives many heart-felt words of appreciation and thanks
Emiko gives Hida and Akemi 30 Ryo.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): 0.o
Ikuko collapses to the ground and lets out a pained cry.
Masuyo: Oh sister!
Ikuko: Aughugh!
Masuyo picks up Ikuko and sets her back in a chair.
Daichi comes flying out of nowhere to Ikuko's side.
Daichi: Are you alright?
Noriko: Trust her to try and draw all the attention to herself, even on someone else's wedding.
Ikuko: Oh Daichi, thank you. I just had a pain, just help me back to my seat and stay here with me. I will be fine.
Ikuko: My deepest apologies for the disturbance.

Daichi: I can think of many reasons you deserved that
Kurako's Kanabo smashes into Kazuki and he sails backwards, smashing into a collection of sake jugs that some peasants were standing near and shattering them. The peasants scatter. Kazuki gasps for breath and suspects that a couple of his ribs are sticking OUT of his chest.
Masuyo: Oh dear!
Masuyo: That looked painful.
Noriko: It did indeed.
Ikuko: He has suffered worse.
Ikuko: He is much tougher than he sounds
Hida Sashimi: Akemi dear, I think this is when you should leave. It looks like things are going to get rough
Akemi: Yes, take care of yourself, don't die on our wedding day.
Daichi: This is why I love weddings, there's always a good honest brawl
Gyoshen Daisuke: I'll take her back to the estate.
Kazuki: Tell me, do your people commonly put contact poisons in wedding drinks? Because if so, I may be in trouble

Akemi is escorted off by Daisuke.
Issiko walks up to Ikuko.

Ikuko: I am doing my best not to further ruin Akemi's wedding day by reliving old conflicts with you
Ikuko: You may have all of these people fooled, but we both know the truth of your treachery, and somewhere, in some realm, father is looking down and cursing your name

Hida Sashimi: Oh don't worry about that. I think Kazuko has done more than enough damage to that idea

Issiko: I'm sure Kurako is merely chastising him for something, she is a very strict adherent to the letter of Tetsun law. Perhaps your toady is guilty of something.
Ikuko: He is guilty of many things, but we punish him ourselves
Issiko: What you do between the sheets is of no consequence to me.
Kazuki (shaken)

People scatter, Emiko and Noriko and their servants head to safer ground. Masuyo stands near Hida, holding the box and wondering what is going on. The other Yamabushi who were with Kurako watch patiently.
Issiko: Quite easily toady, since she has no honor to begin with.
Issiko: If she had honor, she would have killed herself from shame long ago.
Daichi: Smarts [1d6 = 4]
Masuyo: Does this often happen around them?
Masuyo is asking Hida.
Hida Sashimi: Masuyo, I suggest you get out of here. Family squabble, I believe

A multitude of peasants gather nearby with rice balls and begin munching on them while watching the fight.

Kazuki: Please stop swinging. I really don't want to fight at a wedding

Kurako charges Kazuki to squish him flat.

Hida Sashimi decides to open the box, since we're surrounded by enemies and few unneccesary casualties

Kurako barely misses, forcing Kazuki to dodge and tumble back towards Ikuko and Daichi.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): And because Kazuki is too occupied to stop me
Kazuki: Hey, Daichi, wanna swap partners?
Ikuko
Ikuko: Issiko, call off your dog! You are ruining my dearest Akemi's wedding! This is so like you!
Issiko: Oh, very well.
Issiko: Kurako, be a good dear and do not kill Ikuko's pet.

Issiko laughs as Daichi plunges his sword through her chest.

Issiko grabs Daichi's sword.
Issiko: Kurako, please remove Ikuko from the equation.
