Kazemi ("Araki"): fancy
Kuutai: Shadowy DM diceies
"Araki": lol
"Keiko": OMG
Feneril ("Keiko"): omg
Quorteth (Kuutai): lol
Kuutai hey hey
"Araki" WOOT!
This is what story text looks like now.
Kazemi ("Araki"): That's much better
Kuutai (Candid): Pretty Swanky!
"Keiko": this is a test
Hida Sashimi: Yes it is
Kuutai: ....
Kuutai: Notes! NOOOOOO!
Nick (Hida Sashimi): yeah AFK doesn't work for me
Kuutai: Fighting: Bo [1d4 = 2]
Kuutai: Makes it easy to have a character encyclopedia...
Kuutai :3
Kuutai: heuuehueheuheueheuhe
Kuutai: jajajajaja
Kuutai: yeap
Kuutai: Must be admin....no notes.
The rugged coastline of Doragon Mizu comes into view. As the sun burns high in the horizon, the Lighthouse stands dormant. The city of Watanabe spreads in ramshackle fashion around a glittering white sandy beach. A series of high watch towers ringed with cannons line the harbor and the city looks like it has been razed and rebuilt so many times that you are not sure what the original architecture looked like, although anyone with a critical eye (so, not Ikuko) can spot that the city is about the most impregnable thing you have seen.
Captain Mitsu inhales deeply.
Captain Mitsu: Ah, home. Nothing quite like returning with a hold full of loot.
Hida Sashimi: Notice [1d6 = 5]
"Araki": Notice {+2 Alertness} [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6+2 = 5]
Hundreds of ships of various sizes fill the docks and sail through the harbor in what looks like the most controlled chaos imaginable.
"Araki": How many boat crashes happen around here?
Kuutai (downtrodden): Is it this sunny all the time?
Captain Mitsu: A few, not as many as could be expected.
Sailor: Sunny about 300 days a year.
Kuutai sighs
Kazemi ("Araki"): 365 day years?
Sailor: Winter can get a bit cold, down about 50 Fahrenheit at night. Brr!
TADM: Yes, 365 days a year.
"Araki": Wimp
Quorteth (Kuutai): Yes, and it snowed in Vancouver which supposedly never happens.....
TADM: It is 42 oolongs!
Captain Mitsu: Until you have found a place of your own, you are welcome to take rooms at the Drunken Goat, it is one of the establishments that I own.
"Keiko": How kind of you, we are most appreciative
Captain Mitsu directs the Sea Demon into a dock.
Kuutai: I see...Thank you for the contiuned hospitality, Captain.
"Araki": Oh, thanks
Hida Sashimi: Agreed. May the wind always be at your back, and your hold full of the treasure of your enemies
Hida Sashimi: Persuasion {+1 Etiquette} [1d6+1 = 5]
Sailors work in a flurry of activity clearing the deck, prepping the cargo, and taking care of various tasks.
Kazemi ("Araki"): various
Kuutai: So...what is Watanabe famous for?
You are directed off the boat and Captain Mitsu sends a few sailors with you to carry your gear and help you "find" the Drunken Goat.
"Araki": Common Knowledge [1d6 = 5]
It is famous for its merriment, parties, and general high quality of living.
Sailor #2: You bastard! You owe me money!
Sailor #2 shoots someone who appears to be an innocent bystander.
Sailor: Oh, and that also.
Akemi: Oooh look! Tahatan Silks!
Akemi runs over to window shop.
Kuutai Lurks out of the way, waiting to see what the sailors do.
Hida Sashimi shops with Akemi
The Drunken Goat is actually a fairly large complex, almost like a resort. The main sake den and gambling halls are filled with people, even during midafternoon. Amazingly, everyone seems pretty happy and content, even the ones who are not winning money.
"Araki": Hm. I have no money
Sailor: Hello, these are guests of Princess Mitsu.
Servant bows to group.
"Araki" o.O
Servant: I am honored to meet you.
Sailor: Good luck all, off to spend some hard earned booty! And get some nice booty!
Sailor: Woohoo!
Sailor heads off.
Kuutai: Thank thee for the greetings, you certainly know how to live down here
"Keiko": Thank you, you are too kind.
"Araki" bows
"Araki": Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d6+2 = 9]
"Araki" entertainment in the resort
Servant: I am not sure what rooms are to be given to you, but how many do you need and I will find a group that is together, as I assume you would all like to be in the same area.
Kuutai: Oh, about 5 rooms would be sufficient.
"Araki": We can probably manage with fewer
Servant leads everyone to the second floor where there are 3 rooms available.
Servant: Here you go.
Servant hands out keys to everyone.
Kuutai: Why thank you! The Princess's hospitality is without bounds
Daichi takes the key for his and "Keiko's" room
Daichi: Thank you.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Are Akemi and I still out shopping?
TADM: That is up to Hida, you can be out shopping or with the group.
The rooms are small, but adequate. There is no plumbing here, but they are interior rooms (no windows) with a good amount of heat and the futons (beds) look quite nice. More importantly for some of you, they are not rolling left to right on the waves.
Kazemi ("Araki"): heat from furnaces?
TADM: Heat from not having windows in a humid and tropical climate.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Still out shopping it is! Safer that way
Hida Sashimi: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 3]
Kuutai: Well...however posh these dwellings be, I would think it best to fomulate a plan to snag the rest of the reagents...
Akemi: Oh, look at these pearls - they are huge! And what a good price, I don't think that you could get similar pearls in Konoyo for less than 1000 bu.
"Araki": Who are they?
Kuutai: Well....we have the shell.....I believe we need a feather and some hair next...
Hida Sashimi: Um, dearest, I think we should be saving our money for the task at hand. Afterward, you can have all the pearls you want :)
"Araki": Oh, right
Akemi: Yes, and I don't have any clothing that they would go with anyway.
"Araki": Well, I'm going to go exploring for a while. Do you want to come with, Kuutai?
Kuutai: Sure thing!
Hida Sashimi keeps an eye out for any familiar faces while out shopping
"Araki": Notice {+2 Alertness} [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6+2 = 4]
"Araki": Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d6+2 = 7]
Sensei: All right, heading out for TPK induction activities - what are you looking for?
Sensei: Hida does not see anyone familiar, but he sees lots of friendly and smiling people.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): This place is very unsafe. Lots to hide behind a smile
Kazemi ("Araki"): As long as they're smiling, they're not stabbing you
Kazemi ("Araki"): Well, in this case at least
TADM: FYI - Shino smiles when she stabs people.
Quorteth (Kuutai): You have to MAN UP when rolling dice =)
Sensei: And from a culinary experience (as that is important to Hida) it seems like just about every type of cuisine that Hida has ever encountered is here, and evidently food competition is fierce, because everything is inexpensive and looks spectacular.
Kazemi ("Araki"): Dice Tower=Hard Mode
Kazuki and Kuutai see a large number of different types of shops and emporiums. While there are no "magic trinket" stores that they have found yet, they do see many practicing onmyoji and makoto here, as Doragon Mizu is outside the borders of the Iron Dynasty, and thus does not follow their laws.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Hmmmm too much temptation as well. Definitely not safe
Hida Sashimi wanders around until the plothook becomes visible, or until the K's of TPK cause an explosion
Kuutai: Well now, isn't this a spectacle of rational civilization... I could learn to like it here.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): my bet is on the latter happening first
TADM: And to answer Hida's question, the plot hook does not surface until tomorrow morning of game time.
TADM: So yes, it is entirely possible that a person with "k" in their name causes a TPK before that happens.
[TOWER] "Keiko" -> Streetwise {+2 Most High, +4 Very Attractive, +2 Fine Attire, -2 Blind, +2 Charismatic, +1 Cultured} [1d6+9 = 14]
Kuutai approaches one of the Onmyoji
Kuutai: Good sir.....where I come from, such arts are forbidden and feared - it seems here they are cherished; tell me, are such skills taught here?
Soshi Uso: There are a lot of mysteries to be learned in this world, and just as many here
Soshi Uso: I can see such a thirst has brought you here, no?
Kuutai: Why yes
Soshi Uso: They say that Doragon Mizu once obtained great Words of Power from the Dragon Palace below the waves.
Soshi Uso: Those are what I've been searching for, although I haven't had much luck
Kuutai: Oh really?
Soshi Uso: What of you? Which rumors did you follow here?
"Araki" is fascinated by several wind chimes in an adjacent stall
Kuutai: I didn't really follow anything to here, rather I came here becasue I was being followed. =) But now that you raise the subject, yes....tell me more of these Words of Power....
Hida Sashimi: Notice [1d6 = 5]
Soshi Uso: Notice [1d8 = 6]
Soshi Uso glances around
Soshi Uso: It is said that the original habitants of Doragon Mizu mastered these arcane Words and, using them, attempted to conquer nearby nations
Soshi Uso: They used the words to take control of dragons!
Kuutai: Quite a feat.
Soshi Uso: Of course, they slipped up in their control and the dragons turned on them, razing the islands
Soshi Uso: I have been told the archipeligo was once a single island
Kuutai: Sigh, seems they burnt out on all that power...
Soshi Uso: Not quite
Soshi Uso: There is a prophecy...
Soshi Uso: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 5]
Soshi Uso glances around again and leans in close
Soshi Uso: A Hero will one day regain these words and reestablish the friendship between Man and Dragon
Soshi Uso: Imagine how the world would change! Those demonic machines would stand no chance against the might of dragons!
Kuutai: I do like the sound of this...fools hiding behind metal...
Kuutai: oh how sweet 'twould be to see them humbled!
Soshi Uso: I find that a steady supply of heat is usually enough
Soshi Uso: Especially the ones that are mostly bamboo
Kuutai smiles.
Soshi Uso: Kn(Occult) [1d6 = 3]
Soshi Uso: What about you? Do you have any specialties?
Kuutai: Notice [1d6 = 7]
Kuutai looks at Soshi before deciding how to display his C.V.
Feneril (Daichi): Is fucking up a specialty?
Kazemi (Soshi Uso): TPK is my specialty. That's why I'm alone
Feneril (Daichi): TPK is his specialty too
Feneril (Daichi): We should keep the two of you apart
Kazemi (Soshi Uso): I disagree. I think we should both join the army
Street Merchant: Charms! Necklaces! Protection against foul spirits!
Street Merchant walks up to "Araki"
Street Merchant: Would you like some magic charms?
"Araki": Oooh, those look better than the wind chimes
"Araki": How much are they?
Soshi Uso: I think your friend is about to be scammed
Kuutai: Are these really magical, or would i be able to get them for 25c from the toy machines?
TADM: Mostly the latter to answer Kuutai's question.
Street Merchant: They are only 5bu each!
"Araki": Oh, Kuuuuuuutaiiiiiiii
Kuutai: 5bu each! What a bargain! Only a fool would pass up such priceless treasures!
"Araki": Check out these charms!
"Araki": You should get them, imagine how much help they'll be!
"Araki": Persuasion [1d6 = 10]
Kuutai: Smarts [1d10 = 7]
"Araki" has no money, so he has to resort to desperate measures
Kuutai pats Araki on the head.
Akemi: Look, some Aton shrimp, we should have a nice dinner.
Hida Sashimi: Yes we should!
Kuutai: Sure, I'll buy you one, but you only get ONE toy, okay?
"Araki": WOO!
"Araki": Luck [1d6 = 5]
Street Merchant: Ah! Only 1, then I offer you special deal on this charm! It is 7bu but twice as good!
Kuutai Hands the vendor 5 bu.
Kuutai hands 2 more for the SPECIAL
Street Merchant: He looks like he needs all help he can get.
Kuutai is quite convinced that the small turtle shaped pendant must have some sort of mystical property, but it looks pretty mundane for the most part.
Kuutai (parental): So, araki, what do you think about turtles?
"Araki": Common Knowledge [1d6 = 4]
"Araki": Hmmm
Feneril (Daichi): Lykappanthopy
Kuutai: Thank you, kind merchant - may fate be as generous to you as you have been to us!
"Araki": They're pretty cute
"Araki": It's annoying when you trip on one while sneaking through a pond, though
Street Merchant: You as well!
"Araki": Or run into the "snapping" variety
Street Merchant heads off to sell more pendants.
Time passes, it gets dark (to everyone except Ikuko) and lanterns are placed out on the streets. Troupes of singers and dancers head through the streets, and the revelry turns into the "drunken" kind.
Kuutai Hands the Turtle to Araki before continuing the conversation with Shoshi
Kuutai: So....I may know a trick or two....but I perfer seeing whom I am dealing with...
Akemi: We should head back to the Drunken Goat and meet up with the others. I hope nothing has happened to Ikuko. I keep getting the feeling she is about to be killed by ninjas who have been hired by Issiko.
Sensei: Soshi's mask somehow slips off his face and slides around his neck.
Hida Sashimi: If we must. I definitely enjoyed our time alone after being together with the others for so long on that ship
Soshi Uso: Wah!
Kuutai: Come now, we can discuss things at another place. I believe Araki has had enough of the good life for one day.
Akemi: Well, I am getting a bit "sleepy" <nudge nudge wink wink>
Soshi Uso has an ordinary-looking face. Except for what appears to be a rather major burn mark over his lower jaw, as if he had eaten a bomb
Soshi Uso fumbles for his mask
Hida Sashimi makes a beeline back to the Goat with Akemi
Soshi Uso: Agility {-1 One Arm} [1d6-1 = 7]
Soshi Uso gets lucky and gets the mask back on quick enough
"Araki": WOAH!
Soshi Uso: I hardly think that was called for, coming from one who is also shrouded in darkness
Kuutai shrugs
Kuutai: Its hot down here.
Kuutai lifts his hood off.
"Araki": Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d6+2 = 6]
Kuutai: Kappa chewed my face up abit.
Soshi Uso: Spirit [1d10 = 2]
Soshi Uso: hurk
Soshi Uso: We should be friends
Kuutai <3
Kuutai: Come, we have better place to talk.
"Araki": Er, Kuutai
"Araki": You're scaring the children
Kuutai Puts his shrowd back on.
TADM: Okay, so Soshi has important things to do and everyone heads back to the Drunken Goat.
TADM: As in "Everyone Else"
Soshi Uso: Sorry, but I'll ahve to call it for tonight
Soshi Uso: I do hope to see you later, though. Perhaps we can talk then
Kuutai: I shall see thee soon. Thank you for the knowledge.
TADM: As soon as Kazuki gets killed, I'm sure Soshi Uso can make a return.
TADM: So in like 15 minutes...
Kazemi ("Araki"): Unless Kuutai kills him
Kazemi ("Araki"): Then I roll an Anti-mage
Quorteth (Kuutai): You in DOTA2 beta, Mike?
Servant greets you at the Drunken Goat.
Hida Sashimi makes it back to the Goat in record time. Let the Vigor Check Marathon begin!!!
Kazemi ("Araki"): I am not, however, I am in the University Beta
Kazemi ("Araki"): It is very time consuming, but rumor has it it is rewarding
Servant: Princess Mitsu has requested your presence for a light evening snack. She has a request of you.
Kuutai: Whatever the princess requires, It shall be my pleasure to comply
Nick (Hida Sashimi): who is that too?
Servant: Dragon Princess Captain Mitsu, who owns this establishment.
Kazemi ("Araki"): >.>
"Araki": Then let's not keep her waiting
Daichi: We would be glad to join her, of course
Hida Sashimi: ...I guess. Don't get started without me, Akemi ;)
"Keiko": Indeed, lead the way.
Kuutai On his way to the watercooler to have some snacks with the Princess, trys to remember any extra info about Dragons of Doragon
Kuutai: Smarts [1d10 = 6]
"Araki": Kn(Lore & Legends) {+1 Defining Interest} [1d6+1 = 6]
Kazemi ("Araki"): anything about her specifically?
The group is gathered and brought to a small and austere room with tatami mats and soft glowing candles. There are spots for the entire group and a soft melody plays from a nearby room that is divided by a screen. Captain Mitsu is sitting in the room, a smile on her face. She is dressed in very elegant clothes.
Hida Sashimi: Notice [1d6 = 9]
The Dragon Princes of Doragon Mitsu are all Pirate captains who are very successful and would be the equivalent of Clan Daimyos on the mainland.
Captain Mitsu: Welcome, I thought it would be nice to talk now that I have completed my duties for the day. You could tell me what you think of this fine city and its people.
Captain Mitsu: I have had a dessert prepared for you, something small but pleasant.
"Keiko": Captain Mitsu, I have been meaning to thank you for your hospitality, we have recieved a much warmer welcome from your people than from the Ikusan barbarians.
Captain Mitsu: That is to be expected, as Ikusans are innately hostile towards everyone.
Captain Mitsu gestures for everyone to sit.
Hida Sashimi sits
"Araki": Almost everyone
"Araki" sits
Daichi helps "Keiko" sit.
Servant brings out a metal cup for everyone. There is a layer of frost on the outside and inside the cup is a fruity-sugary-frozen treat, sort of like ice cream.
Captain Mitsu: I first had this a couple years ago, it is quite delicious.
"Keiko": True, they seem to be perfectly friendly with my sister. Another mark against their character.
Kuutai: This land is an oasis of reason in the unforgiving wastes of Konoyo; I think Doragon's people and it's city exudes the true spirit of progress and civility.
Captain Mitsu nods as she listens to what you say.
Hida Sashimi: Kn (Regional Cuisine) {+1 Def. Interest} [1d6+1 = 5]
TADM: This is quite possibly everyone's first experience with "frozen" foods.
"Araki": It seems a lot more peaceful and joyous here than anywhere else we have been
Kuutai gives a small 'thank you' bow to the captain before partaking of frozen treats
"Araki": There doesn't appear to be as much tension below the celebration
Daichi takes a bite of one of the trats and passes it to "Keiko"
Hida Sashimi: Most interesting. Definitely seems as a viable way to transport food with minimal chance of spoilage
Captain Mitsu: People are happy when they are free to follow their desires and not have laws and hostility hanging over them.
"Keiko" takes a bit of the dessert.
"Keiko": Oh my, that is quite a sensation. How do they make it so cold?
Nick (Hida Sashimi): and me
Nick (Hida Sashimi): oh
"Araki" eats the treats
"Araki": since he has the protection of the Turtle, such worries are behind him
Captain Mitsu: Ah, Seisei and his Ganso have constructed these underground rooms that are powered in some fashion that I do not quite understand...but it makes the food quite cold and flavorful.
Kuutai: It seems the transformation has not infected these lands, nor its people...how fortunate.
Captain Mitsu: However, they are expensive to maintain, so it is a rare luxury.
"Keiko": If we have time we must go visit those rooms, it sounds most interesting.
Captain Mitsu looks at Kuutai.
Captain Mitsu: Yes, these lands are free of the Transformation that Ikusa wrought on the mainland.
"Keiko": Then the Ikusans are responsible for the transformation?
Kuutai: Yes...sorry it it is inappropriate to discuss, however, it is another thing you notice down here.
Captain Mitsu: As far as I know, yes.
"Keiko": Just one more dark deed from their warped minds I suppose.
Captain Mitsu: Yes.
Captain Mitsu: I would like to request a favor of you, something minor but I find myself in need of some couriers.
"Araki" is rapidly eating more of the treats
"Keiko": Of course, you have been most helpful to us
Captain Mitsu gestures to a medium sized clay bottle next to her.
Kuutai: Ah, how rude of us - for you you have given so much, it is we who should be stretching to reciprocate!
Captain Mitsu: I will be quite busy tomorrow, along with my people, handling the accounting of our haul. However, I would like you to deliver this gift of butter rum to my finance, Captain Pekeshi. He owns the King's Crown establishment on the north side of Watanabe.
"Keiko": Certainly, I look forward to meeing him.
"Keiko" gestures to Daichi.
"Araki": Kn(Lore & Legends) {+1 Defining Interest} [Critical failure!] [1d4+1 = 2]
Daichi picks up the bottle and nods to Captain Mitsu
Captain Mitsu: Yes, I am quite interested in how well he likes it, do not return until you have seen him try it and find out what he thinks of its unique taste.
Kuutai: Spellcasting [1d10 = 5]
Kuutai: Spellcasting [1d10 = 4]
Kuutai: We understand - it will be done.
"Keiko": Well, I will not see him try it, but Daichi is a faithful observer. And discreet.
Quorteth (Kuutai): What's being said, is that since the dice tower conceals, is that although you may SEE a dice explode multiply, and thus be really confident, you may have the OTHER dice be a 1, therfore
Quorteth (Kuutai): You would not use a benny, and get sort of a possibly pyrric and or ironic result.
Captain Mitsu: When you are ready in the morning to deliver this Pekeshi, let one of my servants know and they shall take you to the King's Crown.
Captain Mitsu: I thank you for this valuable service.
Kuutai: Why thank you so much, it is our pleasure.
Captain Mitsu bows from the waist, rises, and departs.
"Keiko": It is the least we can do to repay your hospitality.
"Keiko" turns to the group.
"Keiko": You should all get a good night's sleep. And be well-armed before we depart in the morning.
Kuutai: Very prudent Ideas. Good night.
Kuutai departs for room
Hida Sashimi: Agreed. Who shall watch over the bottle for the evening?
Daichi: I will.
Hida Sashimi: Thank you Daichi
Akemi: Hida, you are going to be too busy to watch a bottle.
Akemi nudges Hida.
"Araki": I want to get a good look at it before going to bed
Hida Sashimi: Good night
"Keiko": Come father, I grow weary.
Hida Sashimi departs rather quickly with Akemi
Daichi leads "Keiko" back to their room.
"Araki" heads down to take a look at the barrel
Akemi requests 3 Vigor checks from Hida. After all, it has been a couple weeks due to the boat trip.
Hida Sashimi first makes sure that the door/windows/etc are sufficiently barracaded to prevent any unwanted guests this time
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Be kind, o' Dice Tower
Nick (Hida Sashimi): only one explosion worries me
TADM: Hida feels quite exhausted in the morning.
Kuutai rests barring any itneresting visitors
There are no interesting visitors, the night passes uneventfully.
TADM: Well, unless Kazuki causes a TPK or gets himself killed.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Crap. Must have rolled a 1 on one of them. Last time, Akemi was tired for days
Kazemi ("Araki"): Nah
TADM: Her Vigor die has increased and she has Brawny now.
[w] "Araki" -> Daichi: Can I take a look at the bottle?
TADM: I was thinking about giving her the Lumberjack Edge from another setting, but decided that was just way too wrong.
[w] Daichi -> "Araki": Do not think I don't know your true purpose here
Nick (Hida Sashimi): ewww
[w] "Araki" -> Daichi: You can watch me. I'm not going to take the seal off, that would be stupid
Nick (Hida Sashimi): I think she has to deal with enough wood as is
[w] Daichi -> "Araki": I would never watch! And I won't allow you near her again, no matter what seal you are using!
[w] Daichi -> "Araki": She is too good for you!
"Keiko" has been awarded a benny
Kuutai: Okay, let's do this quickly and professionally - and not rum into trouble,
TADM: That was AWESOME.
[w] "Araki" -> Daichi: *facepalm*
Feneril (Daichi): you can leave that one in the chat log
[w] "Araki" -> Daichi: I was talking about the rum
[w] Daichi -> "Araki": What? Oh, you mean the bottle?
Hida Sashimi: Intimidation [1d6 = 9]
All right, so the next morning comes around, the sun rises, breakfast is served, Hida looks famished yet tired. Akemi looks way too happy. Kuutai looks like a man who slept peacefully without shenanigans.
"Araki": Intimidation [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 3]
Hida Sashimi: Nom nom nom
TADM: Hida looks scary before he has his Cheerios.
Kazemi ("Araki"): How rare is the butter rum?
TADM: Butter Rum is only available from a small island southwest of Hinote Shima. I am 100% certain no one in this group has ever tasted or heard of it before.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Challenge accepted!
"Keiko": Whenever you are finished with your breakfasts, we must deliver our parcel.
"Keiko": Daichi, do you still have it?
Daichi: Of course.
"Araki": Hey, Keiko, can you gather some information on this other guy we're supposed to deliver the bottle to?
"Keiko": I don't think that will be necessary
"Araki": Why not?
Kuutai Begins flipping through a book of his
"Keiko": That is not important.
"Keiko": Persuasion {+4 Very Attractive, +2 Most High, +2 Fine Attire, -2 Blind, +2 Charismatic, +1 Cultured} [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6+9 = 13]
"Keiko" is using a benny
"Keiko": Persuasion {+4 Very Attractive, +2 Most High, +2 Fine Attire, -2 Blind, +2 Charismatic, +1 Cultured} [1d12+9 = 15]
Hida Sashimi: well, we should probably get going then
"Keiko": Persuasion {+4 Very Attractive, +2 Most High, +2 Fine Attire, -2 Blind, +2 Charismatic, +1 Cultured} (Defining Interest (Etiquette) +1) [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6+10 = 14]

"Keiko": Persuasion {+4 Very Attractive, +2 Most High, +2 Fine Attire, -2 Blind, +2 Charismatic, +1 Cultured} (Defining Interest (Etiquette) +1) [1d12+10 = 16]
"Keiko": Shall we go then?
Kuutai: Yes, let us be off.
"Araki": Could someone get me a Kusari-gama before we go?
"Araki": I feel nekid
Kuutai: Don't worry Araki, your Kami will protect you.
"Araki": Oh, right, the turtle
"Keiko" flags down a servant.
"Keiko": Send word to Captain Mitsu's servants that we are ready to depart for Captain Pekeshi's abode
Hida Sashimi: Streetwise {+2 Merchant (Buy/Sell)} [1d8+2 = 7]
The group heads off, with one of Mitsu's servants leading you to the King's Crown. It is a gambling hall and sake den, packed with a large number of revelers who seem to have been partying all night long. There is a long table filled with piles of boxes and bottles and chests. A banner above the table proclaims, "Presents for Captain Pekeshi and Captain Mitsu! May your marriage be long and fortuitous!"
Kuutai: Somehow, the union of accomplished captains is much more wholesome than the union of pompus bastage royalty that the mainland rountinely presents us with....I like this place <3
Daichi: Should we just leave it with the others?
Captain Pekeshi swaggers towards the group, a number of rough looking cutthroats trailing behind him.
Kuutai: Nay, We are under orders to deliver it personally, and see his reaction.
"Keiko": I concur. Although I will see little.
Captain Pekeshi: What's this? Mainlanders! How pleasant of you to come here.
Kazemi ("Araki"): What kind of man is he?
Mitsu's servant has become conspicuously absent.
"Keiko": It is an honor. Word of your marriage to captain Mitsu has spread far and wide.
Kazemi ("Araki"): I bet Mitsu is going to claim that we were never with her to begin with
Captain Pekeshi is a tall man crisscrossed with many scars. He has thick muscles that bulge and a bald head that peels from a sunburn.
"Araki": and after we summon an Oni Lord in the middle of the room and kill Pekeshi, we'll be wanted over both the mainland AND by Doragon Mizu
Kazemi ("Araki"): OC
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Indeed. We bring this bottle of butter rum FROM CAPTAIN MITSU HERSELF!!!
Nick (Hida Sashimi): would that not work?
Kazemi ("Araki"): DEFINITELY not said out loud
Captain Pekeshi: Yes, I bet it has. So you are a prostitute sent from which of my Captain friends to pleasure my men and I?
"Keiko": Oh, how quaint. But no.
Captain Pekeshi: How sad, my friends evidently do not have the taste to afford you.
"Keiko": We are simply travellers, come to pay our respects.
"Keiko": Our gift comes from the vile land of Ikusa. It was stolen from a, now deceased lesser lord.
"Keiko": I have no idea what it is, but he assured me it was quite valuable before we dispatched him
Captain Pekeshi: Ah, that is the kind of thing I like to hear.
Captain Pekeshi: I was thinking I would take you for a morning "treat" but with that kind of spirit, perhaps you are more of a daylong fascination.
"Keiko" laughs.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): "Only have thighs for you" comes to mind
"Keiko": Only if Captain Mitsu joins us, I would hate to anything behind her back lest I find myself floating home face down.
"Araki": Persuasion (Acting) {+1 Defining Interest} [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6+1 = 4]
"Keiko" bows.
"Araki" coughs and blushes
"Keiko": Of course, and perhaps later in the day you might let me know what was inside?
Kuutai bows
Captain Pekeshi: Hah! Mitsu join us? That no-fun stick in the mud.
Captain Pekeshi: We already signed an agreement in this marriage that I might have as many concubines as I want, since she has no interest in men.
Captain Pekeshi laughs.
"Keiko": How civilized of you.
Captain Pekeshi: Of course, what is this gift you prattle on about.
"Keiko" gesures to Daichi.
Daichi kneels and presents the bottle.
Captain Pekeshi: I shall see it right now and give you my impression before you decide whether to whether to stay here with me or not.
Captain Pekeshi looks at the rest of the group.
Captain Pekeshi: I have women for all of you, or whatever takes your fancy.
Captain Pekeshi looks at Akemi.
Captain Pekeshi: Hmm...you look familiar.
Akemi: I have a common face.
Captain Pekeshi: Ah...hmm...
Captain Pekeshi looks thoughtful.
Akemi (whispers): Sheesh...
Captain Pekeshi takes the bottle from Daichi.
Captain Pekeshi: Ah! Most excellent.
Kazemi ("Araki"): What sort of presants does he have?
TADM: Are you opening them?
Hida Sashimi: Would you like to have a look around this fine establishment, dear?
TADM: Because that would be hilarious.
Kazemi ("Araki"): Looking at what's already opened. Are they all wrapped?
TADM: They are all wrapped or sealed.
Akemi: No, I'm fine right here.
Captain Pekeshi sniffs at the bottle.
Kazemi ("Araki"): any of them look like they could hold Kusari Gama?
Captain Pekeshi: Well, it certainly looks expensive.
"Keiko": I thought so as well
Kazemi ("Araki"): lol
TADM: Many of them look like they could hold a kusari gama.
Kazemi ("Araki"): if everything goes to hell, I'm grabbing one before we run and rolling Luck
Captain Pekeshi gets out a knife and stabs the wax seal to break it open.
Captain Pekeshi inhales deeply.
"Keiko" steps back respectfully.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): waits for the explosion
Captain Pekeshi: Ahh! Butter rum! My favorite!
Captain Pekeshi chugs the bottle.
Captain Pekeshi: That was spectacular!
Nick (Hida Sashimi): It's not butter rum. It's RED RUM!
Captain Pekeshi: And now...
Nick (Hida Sashimi): you die?
Captain Pekeshi grabs a nearby woman.
Captain Pekeshi: I think I shall enjoy your company.
Captain Pekeshi looks at Ikuko.
Feneril ("Keiko"): "Keiko"
Captain Pekeshi: You want to come with me, three's fine sport.
Captain Pekeshi: Or...
Captain Pekeshi looks at Akemi.
Captain Pekeshi: You look feisty also.
Kazemi ("Araki"): long as he doesn't target me...
"Keiko": Perhaps later, we must eat first, we skipped breakfast this morning and would need our strength to undertake such... strenuous activity.
Captain Pekeshi: Ah, I completely...
Captain Pekeshi drops to the ground.
Captain Pekeshi turns blue.
Captain Pekeshi is quite dead.
"Keiko" screams.
Kuutai: Crikey!
Nick (Hida Sashimi): See? It was Red Rum
"Keiko" continues screaming loudly.
Daichi rushes to comfort "Keiko"
Nick (Hida Sashimi): LOL
Ikuko's screaming causes considerable panic. However, the death of Pekeshi does not seem to bother anyone.
"Keiko" "faints" into Daichi's arms after screaming until she is out of breath.
Kuutai: Hrm....
Female Servant taps Ikuko on the shoulder.
Female Servant: Excuse me miss, your head is pointed the right direction for what you are trying, but his pants are still on.
Kuutai: Stand back! I know CPR!
TADM: In other words, you failed one of those rolls.
"Keiko" is using a benny
Kuutai Kuutai rushes to Pekeshi
Kazemi ("Araki"): Does nobody care at all, or are they all unconcious?
Feneril ("Keiko"): They probably all expected him to be assassinated anyways.
Kazemi ("Araki"): That would just mean they're ready to act to prevent or get revenge
Actually, it looks like after Pekeshi's death the party gets more exuberant. There are several shouts of, "Woohoo! We all work for Princess Mitsu now! Best day EVAR!"
Kazemi ("Araki"): Also, does anybody move toward the presents?
"Araki" slides closer to the presents
Nick (Hida Sashimi): No one signaling for the authorities? Can we just live here til the world ends?
Several sailors show up wearing Captain Mitsu's symbol. They take up positions to guard the presents.
Feneril ("Keiko"): such a command performance, so wasted.
Sensei: A couple people run out to get the undertaker so that the body can be disposed of.
Kuutai: Well...that was a fast change of establishment....
"Keiko" "comes to" after a few minutes under Daichi's care
"Araki": Not a popular man, I take it?
"Keiko": I can see why.
Sailor: Well, he was an evil lecherous hump. And he didn't pay very well.
"Araki": Good enough
Sailor: I think the only person who didn't expect him to die when Mitsu agreed to marry him was...Pekeshi.
Feneril ("Keiko"): Sounds like Zeke would like him.
Hida Sashimi: So, who wants to go tell the good news?
"Keiko": I would think the "unlimited whores" adendum to the marriage contract would tip off even the most dim-witted man
Sailor: After all, it would have been her fifth marriage by the age of 22.
"Araki": So, uh, what's going to happen to the presents?
"Keiko": I like Mitsu more every day
Sailor: Mitsu gets them.
Hida Sashimi: Sounds fair to me.
Sailor: As well as all of Pekeshi's ships, soldiers, businesses, debts, accounts, etc.
Sailor: That's how things work in Doragon Mizu.
"Araki": And she's done this five times now?
Sailor: Yep.
"Araki": Wow. Cleaning out the dumber males
Sailor: Men are kind of stupid when it comes to really attractive, powerful, and rich women.
Kuutai: So......Doragon's men are dumb and lusty?
"Keiko": My father should have sent me here to find a husband.
Sailor nods to both statements.
Hida Sashimi: He said powerful
Kazemi ("Araki"): How many major Pirate Lords are there?
Kuutai: Well at least you are honest about it.
Hida Sashimi: So, shall we get going?
"Araki": I s'pose
Hida Sashimi: Let us depart, then
Sensei: The group heads back to the Drunken Goat. At the start of next session you can report to Captain Mitsu and find out the next task she has for you.
Kuutai: Mitsu will probably give us Ice Cream! <3
Kazemi ("Araki"): Cool
Nick (Hida Sashimi): No wonder I was getting such a "cold shoulder" vibe from her. Ice Queen, evem
Campaign saved.
