Randall fires the CAS and the NVA "Archaeologist" crumples to the ground.
Tyran Drenski as soon as it is safe Tyran runs out to field to pick up Rocky and have Packmule load the gun.
With that, the NVA fall back from the battlefield. It becomes eerily quiet and a strange whitish fog rises from the ground and sits there for about four hours.
Nessie (Tyran Drenski): creepy...
The fog is cold to the touch and is a bit weird to be "in." Eventually everyone decides to sit in or on the tank until it dissipates that evening.
Dugan: reloads his gun
Time passes, there is no sign that the NVA are returning. The day passes into night, and the next day comes without incident.
At times there are explosions far in the distance, and twice you see B-52s flying overhead, but nothing else happens.
The next day passes, and another. You do not see any signs of the NVA or anyone else.
Nessie (Tyran Drenski): but we rest up!!
Lt. Andrea Devine: Well, this is turning out to be rather unexciting.
Nessie (Tyran Drenski): which means we are dead!!!
Nessie (Tyran Drenski): it's like say the "s" or "q" word on an ambulance...noo good
Colwyn O'Reilly: Congratulations. We have successfully defended a bunch of pot.
Colwyn O'Reilly: erm... pots

After two more days, rations start to run low, but other than the distant thump of artillery it is eerily quiet the entire time.
Nessie (Tyran Drenski): Yep dead
Dhu (Dugan): My butts getting sore, cold and wet; sitting on this tank for days on end
Tyran Drenski sleeps most of the time
Then the radio blares to life, stunning everyone with the sudden burst of noise. A short while later, several helicopters come to pick the squad up. Sarge heads off without getting in the choppers with you, content to head back into the jungle. You are airlifted back to base where the Lt. leaves to make a report.
Colwyn O'Reilly: Bye Sarge. Thanks for all the fish!
Nessie (Tyran Drenski): okay that was unexpected...

Sergeant Almareth: See you all around, I'm sure we'll cross paths again.

Everyone sits around in the barracks for about thirty minutes, then the Lt comes back with a smile on her face.
Nessie (Tyran Drenski): leaving again??
Dugan: i thought sarge was in the jungle

Lt. Andrea Devine: Well done everyone, according to the intelligence reports, the NVA are convinced that two battalions of US special forces were dug in at the Plain of Jars. They pulled back before further reinforcements could arrive.
Lt. Andrea Devine: Evidently you are all a company of soldiers...
Lt. Andrea Devine laughs.

Colwyn O'Reilly: you know, that should be reflected in our paygrade, ma'am
Lt. Andrea Devine: Anyway, we have a new and highly challenging assignment.
