A shadowy worm-shaped column of dark and malleable flesh, as large as a dragon, about which whip tendrils and other appendages whose exact nature is difficult to determine, but occasionally end of flashing talons and claws. Due to the way light itself warps around the fiend, causing the eyes to ache slightly if they attempt to look upon it too closely. It is difficult to tell, in fact, if it is a column upon which tendrils project and move or if it is itself a great and twisting bundle of tendrils that separate and regroup into the same terrible trunk. It babbles in a language unknown, a hideous gibbering that echoes in the thoughts as well as the ears, a constant and ongoing rush of sound that follows it wherever it goes.

Slumbara hacks through the beast, causing wisps of shadows and random appendages to go sailing through the air, they dissipate into clouds of smoke. His blow is powerful enough that it hacks into the pig demon next to it, driving his sword into it and staggering the ceature.
Tuba Monster: That was rather rude of you, I am displeased.
Slumbara: You are displeased? You broke my tuba, Slumbara is displeased

Meltam Using the noise and clamor of the battle as a distraction, Meltam takes an article of questionable origin and stuffs the Tuba.
Meltam shoves the backpack into the tuba opening and the smoke from it starts pouring out the other holes made by Volmalric's epic smashing of it after his beautiful rendition during the play.

The vial hits the swirling cloud of smoke and ignites into a flaming column as the holy power of Mitra and the vileness of the creature come in contact with each other.
Tuba Monster: Arggh, wintergreen! I'm allergic to wintergreen Mitra. It stings.
Kazemi (Volmalric): "Wait, is this Diet Mitra Dew? I can't have sucralose!"
Tack (Meltam): "It's more like Sierra Mist, given the monster is misty"
Beast in front of Meltam turns to face him, makes a plaintive, "sad beast about to die noise" and falls face first to the ground, then dissipates into a gray mist.

Meltam: Has a moment of contemplation, realizing he was very close to being a mindless thrall of the outer dark.
Beast attempts to remove the tuba from its head and successfully tears it free of his shoulders. There is a fountain of blood as the body and head become detached. Evidently the tuba is mightier than the connective tissue.
Meltam: You could say he was instrumental in his own demise...

Tuba Monster attempts to grab the tuba out of Meltam's hand and gets a solid grip on it, but then the flames of Mitra ignite the claws and burn them away.
Shades finish whatever internal discussion was going on between them and seem have to been properly satisfied with Meltam's offering and pull the tuba from his hands and flee down a corridor with it.
