The good news is, she is successful in whacking the javelin free of his grip, the bad news is, she is also now impaled on the javelin.

Rhotinia ducks and covers
Tilpi's arrow strikes Volmalric's alchemy bag and it erupts and explodes, creating a geyser of flame that completely engulfs the possessed man.
Tilpi: I never knew i had a...flare for such violence.
The birds swarming around Tilpi swarm into and claw at her viciously in retaliation.

Rhotinia runs around the pyre, laying a circle of salt and jade around both flaming Volmalric bodies
Rhotinia circles the burning people, laying down salt and jade to keep them contained. Tilpi begins chanting and the just as Rhotinia completes the circle, the salt and jade ignite, burning like a trail of gunpowder in a Western movie. It occurs to both of you that you are not entirely sure whether this is supposed to happen or not.

The javelin begins glowing blue.
The blue glow seems to absorb all the fire and suck it into the blue steel, resulting in two badly burned, but no longer BURNING people inside a flaming salt and jade circle.
