Slumbara: Meltam, unless you have any sourcerous ideas on how to heal Volmalric's horrible monster claw, Slumbara suggests we amputate immediately
Meltam: Invoking any sort of magical soltuion right now is not the best idea. I can probably reverse the spell later when my mind is clear and not currently savaged by wounds
Meltam: We can fix it later, Dr. Slumbara, Cirgeon Magnificent
Kazemi (Volmalric): I think my hand is oozing yellow pus (and might be a bit scaley), and my foot is a lizard foot
Slumbara: We should still keep a very close eye on Volmalric, in case he turns into any more of a pus monster
Meltam: Dear Captain Fingol, where are you voyaging to?
Slumbara: Hopefully Doctor Slumbara's skills are not needed
Volmalric struggles to give a thumbs up
Kazemi (Volmalric): The one game to rule them all...
Captain Fingol: We be headin' ta Messantia.
Slumbara: Perfect, we were headed there once, long ago
Slumbara: And Volmalric can heal along the way
Captain Fingol: Let's be gettin' you back ta tha ship.
Slumbara: Lead on captain
Captain Fingol directs his sailors to pick up Meltam and Volmalric and head back to the shore.
Meltam: Thank you, you have saved us!

Slumbara: You have no idea

Slumbara: But for the rest of us, it will be very interesting I am sure
Slumbara checks whether the sailor is wearing red

Sailor #8 is wearing bright red shirt emblazoned with a Target symbol.
Captain Fingol: It be fine, the Lady, she be paid us in advance three times da normal amount. And if'n she be dead, I dinna worry about refund for ya'all fallin' overboard earlier.
Sailor #13: I'm just looking forward to making it back home to Messantia. I will have finally paid off my debt and can rejoin my family and see my child for the first time.
Slumbara sighs
Ultra Poisonous Viper of Instant Death: Well, I was going after Slumbara, but nevermind.
Ultra Poisonous Viper of Instant Death bites sailor #13.
Sailor #13: Egads, I die! Give my box of belongings to my wife!
Meltam's ears perk up at the mention of a Viper
Slumbara releases Meltam
Slumbara: Go get him boy

Meltam does damage with Unarmed:
Rolling 3d6 combat dice...
Total: 4 Effects: 2 [1d60.2+2d60.5 = 12]
Bat-mongoose Meltam tears the Viper in half, saving Slumbara from a possible forty-three minute soliloquoy about the injustices of the world after being diagnosed with incurable snake poison.
Slumbara: Slumbara is not sure if I have future predicting powers, or if we are still trapped
Meltam takes a defensive position, guarding his prey. Don't you dare take it!
Sailor #8: That is one ferocious bat-sorceror-mongoose thing you have there.
Sailor #8 looks impressed at Mighty Slumbara.
Captain Fingol directs the group back down to the beach, as nothing more heinous happens on the way there, unless Meltam wants to do something...
Slumbara: sometimes
Slumbara: other times he is a weird crab monster
An Argossian merchant vessel sits a short distance out to sea, several rowboats and a group of guards awaits your return. They quickly bundle everyone on the boats and get everyone back out to the safety of the ship and away from freaky weird sorcerous island.
Slumbara shepards Meltam onto his shoulder

Captain Fingol sets aside their small passenger cabin for the three of you. There are four bunks and a couple small chests for storage of gear. It is actually rather nicely appointed and looks like an okay place to spend a couple weeks at sea.
Captain Fingol: If'n ya'all need an'ah'thing, let me know. Tha dead lady paid well fer yar passage.
Slumbara: You have been very kind, first order of business is for Doctor Slumbara to tend to my injured colleagues
Meltam would be chasing his tail, but there's nothing left to chase.
Slumbara: This room will do nicely
Slumbara used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Slumbara breaks out some flagons of mead, and sings hearty songs, and laughs over their shared adventure in the Scholar Kings fishbowl with Volmalric

Slumbara tells Meltamgoose a story about how the pellar of his village once accidentally turned into a crocodile and had to use his inner mental strength to restore his body
There is a flash of green light and the entire room is splattered in what looks like the innards of a blue whale with Crohn's Disease.
The stench is enough that Volmalric loses pretty much every single item he has considered eating in the past month. In fact, Volmalric is certain he can NEVER eat corn again without feeling nauseous.
Slumbara is not sure what Volmalric's problem is, but then, Slumbara is covered in a greenish glowing slime that is causing all his hair to fall out.
However, clawing free of what looks like a giant rectal polyp covering two of the bunks is a perfectly intact and human looking Meltam.
Sailor #8 is NOT - UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES - CLEANING THAT ROOM.
Slumbara: I will ask the captain for a new room
Slumbara: After I bathe
Captain Fingol is considering burning the ship down and collecting insurance.
Slumbara hops in the tub to wash off the green slime

Meltam: Dear Captain Fingol, certainly you'd not abandon people as illustrious and celebrated as Slumbara, Wrath of Kush, and Volmaric, Fist of Mitra?
Captain Fingol: But, seein' as ya asked super nicely, if'n ya promise ta not coat tha ONLY OTHER PASSENGER ROOM ON THE SHIP with glowin' toxic sludge that be eatin' at the hull o'the'ship, I suppose I ken be movin' ya thar.
Slumbara rubs the water out of his ears
Slumbara: Did you say Volmalric fisted Mitra?
Slumbara: When did this happen?
Slumbara: Slumbara must have missed this
Meltam: You can ask him about it. =D
Meltam: Thank you Captain, we are truly indebeted.
Sailor #8 gets popcorn maker out, this sounds like a great story.
Captain Fingol: Nae problem, I be thinkin' the proceeds from this journey be enough ta retire or buy a new ship. Either be good now.
Sailor #1: Hey, this green slime! We should bottle it and sell it as depilatory cream!
Sailor #1: Can we get more?
Meltam Runs to the poop deck to vomit.
Sailor #8: Oh, that might be helpful for cutting down on lice.
Captain Fingol sighs.
Meltam rolls an Insight test:
Target: 11 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.17+1d20.19 = 36]

Slumbara: Now we just need to get rid of Volmalric's mutilated monster foot
GM: And fix his puss-oozing hand.
Feneril (Slumbara): he probably just caught something from fisting Mitra
Meltam rolls an Insight test:
Target: 11 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [1d20.13+1d20.14 = 27]
You did not succeed.
Meltam: I think we need more controlled circumstances to do that. I'd hate to ruin another cabin.
Meltam: Though your concern for Volmalric is touching, Slumbara
Slumbara: I don't want him to turn into a monster in the night and eat us
Meltam: He wont'
Meltam: It's stable.
Slumbara: Hmm, Slumbara will sleep with sword anyways
Slumbara: Just in case
Volmalric makes stable sounds of pain
Meltam: Honestly If we want to do something, we should tap his Alchemy knowledge to neturalize that goo. That could actually damage the ship, ya know?
GM: [14]
GM rolls a test:

Kazemi:
[1d20.11 = 11]
Volmalric sits up and analyzes the cabin and situation
Volmalric: We'll want to get this cleaned up sooner rather than later, it'll eat away at the wood. Get Sailor #8 over here, we'll need a hand cleaning up the bulk of this and then treating the wood again
Sailor #8 grumbling and complains the whole time, also mentions something to the effect of, "I'm getting too old for this."
Meltam rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 10 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.16+1d20.6 = 22]
You did succeed!
Under Volmalric's assistance, with grudging assistance from other sailors, you manage to undo the damage to the ship.
Meltam: Certainly, this is better than having the ship take on water eh?
Sailor #8 agrees that treading water all the way to Messantia would be challenging.
Volmalric takes off his eyepatch, revealing a normal eye instead of a weird glowing eye.
Meltam: Certainly, a vermin-exterminating moongoose creature is useless on a ship, you definetly like more like this
Meltam rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 10 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.5+1d20.7 = 12]
You succeeded and generated momentum!

Volmalric: Is there anything we can aid with?
Meltam: Fingol, you have saved many lives and done a sailors duty, what is weighing on you?
Volmalric is having Slumbara carry him around in a chair
Volmalric has his weird foot wrapped up in several layers of cloth
Captain Fingol: Oi, well, we be havin' a weird death on board. I dinna think it be a murder though.
Volmalric: Oh no
Volmalric: It wasn't Sailor #8, was it?
Meltam: You can confide on us as if your life or repuation depended on it.
Meltam rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 10 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.15+1d20.7 = 22]

Captain Fingol: Last night, Sailor #8 was in tha crow's nest. When his shift ended and Sailor #14 went ta replace him, what he found shocked #14 enough he fell overboard.
Volmalric takes off his helmet and holds it to his chest, in honor of the fallen sailor
Captain Fingol: We rescued #14, an' I went ta check on #8, only ta discover the man's pants around his ankles an' his man bits torn off. An' he bled at death with a look o'horror on his face.
Meltam: .....interesting.
Meltam rolls a Lore test:
Target: 9 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.13+1d20.4 = 17]

Volmalric rolls a Lore test:
Target: 12 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [2d20.14 = 28]
You did not succeed.
Volmalric: You don't think...

Volmalric: What was the Sailor's proper name?
Meltam used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool

Captain Fingol: Errr.... Athwit Gondal? Maybe. I'd need to check the log.
Volmalric: If you could provide a copy of the logs, that would be fantastic
Captain Fingol: Well, I dinna think tha be necessary. Ya'all doan 'nough on this trip. Thanks though.
Volmalric: Hmm, very well
Meltam: We are very thankful for being rescued. All will know the name of Fingol and his fearless crew.
Kazemi (Volmalric): Are there any women on board, or is it all men?
GM: You have seen no women on this ship.
Volmalric steps away to speak with Meltam in private
Sailor #1: The ancient superstition that having a woman on board a ship is bad luck is now a proven, scientific fact.
Rest of Crew nods in agreement.
Volmalric: No it isn't, because you didn't have a woman on board and this STILL happened
Volmalric: If anything, it proves that the lack of women does nothing to protect you
Volmalric (To Meltam): So, it's possible that it's posing as one of the crew. A shapeshifter of sorts
Sailor #5: But if'n we had a woman, we'd have dozens o'fatalities, like every time we go to port and the harlots are all too busy or too tired!
Volmalric: It could also be something in their cargo coming to life
Rest of Crew nods sagely in agreement with #5.
Volmalric: It could also be something following the boat, like a siren. Though I'm not sure a siren can get itsel fout of the water and to the Crow's nest...
Meltam: or the island....that place wasn't exactly clean
Volmalric: Oh, true
Volmalric: It could be hitching a ride
Kazemi (Volmalric): How many days into the journey are we?
Volmalric rolls an Alchemy test:
Target: 13 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.16+1d20.7 = 23]
You did succeed!
Volmalric prepares an alchemical trap. Since this creature seems to want to get at man-bits, the plan is to give Slumbara a dark-colored decoy. This will be one that's contained in what appears to be a relatively fleshy exterior with a surprise inside; a powerful, directional explosion (away from Slumbara). Ideally, anything that bites hard enough to trigger it will cause this to go off, and they'll likely lose their head over it
Slumbara volunteers to watch in the Crow's Nest with the explosive surprise man-bits. No additional shenanigans happen in the remaining six days before you arrive in Messantia.
