Rhotinia rolls a Discipline test:
Target: 10 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.1+1d20.5 = 6]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Rhotinia, having seen all sorts of horrors on the battlefield, is only mildly discomfited by the sight of the barmaid's arm turning reptilian-avian-scaled-feathers and leaking a brownish ichor.
Volmalric: We don't have to worry about that, do we?
Adolphus: Well, yes, you should worry about that, try to catch it all in that bowl there, we need it as a reagent.
Bridgit: It hurts... a lot.
Rhotinia: Worst case scenario she turns into a giant lizard and eats us
Meltam rolls an Insight test:
Target: 11 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.11+1d20.19 = 30]
You did succeed!
Rhotinia: Not a bad way to go really, it would make for a great inscription on your tombstone
Sophie (singing): I see skies of red, seas of blood, what a wonderful world!
Volmalric grabs the bowl and slides it beneath the wound, catching it in there before it hits the ground. He slips on a pair of gloves afterwards, to help maintain cleanliness and avoid toxic exposure.
Volmalric: Hardly the worst case scenario, it would be worse if it's contagious
Adolphus: That it is not, fortunately.
Rhotinia (singing): Hello Sophie, this is Lewis Sophie. It's so nice to see your black blood going strong. You're looking swell, Sophie, I can tell, Sophie....
Rhotinia dabs the sweat off her forehead
Meltam rolls a Society test:
Target: 11 Focus: 4 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.1+1d20.6 = 7]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Adolphus: Now grab a half flask of that Midnight Blue clover and a giant handful of that Carfenatil. Actually, four handfuls of that. Start heating the burner and add water and more ichor.
Bridgit: Adolphus... I can't...
Adolphus: Rhotinia, grip her very hard, we are coming to the hard part.
Meltam I do feel a little shame that some members of the party have to play rehab clinic.
Rhotinia: Just hang in there hun, you'll be fine
Rhotinia rolls an Athletics test:
Target: 10 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.20+1d20.4 = 24]
You did succeed!
Tack (Meltam): BLAZE IT ROLL
Volmalric rolls an Alchemy test:
Target: 14 Focus: 4 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.10+1d20.16 = 26]
You did succeed!

Kazemi:
[1d20.4 = 4]
Volmalric grabs a scoop of the powder and the flask, setting them to the side as he flips on the burner and begins measuring out just the right amount of ichor to keep the ratios consistent.
Rhotinia: It's heartening to see that you have skills besides reading pornography
Volmalric: Frankly, that was worse than this is
Volmalric: It sounds like one or two handfuls didn't work last time?
Adolphus: No, less than two handfuls work if we have more than five minutes left before really bad things happen.
Meltam rolls an Insight test:
Target: 11 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.18+1d20.3 = 21]
You did succeed!
Bridgit lets you an unholy shriek of rage and rips free of Rhotinia's grasp, she rips the dagger out of Adolphus' hands and yells something in a language no one understands, then she hurls the dagger through the door and into the back of the Guard Sergeant standing in the other room. Rhotinia recovers from being thrown backwards and without a better solution, crashes a large metal pot on Bridgit's head. The pot glows bright blue for a second and then changes in weight so suddenly that it almost dislocates Rhotinia's arm as it flattens Sophie to the ground. She gurgles and claws at it, but cannot seem to move it.
Bridgit gurgles, ichor dribbles from her mouth.
Adolphus: Oh, I didn't realize that pot had Blue Steel in it, that makes it a much better solution than trying to hold her down in the future... good job.
Volmalric leans over to get a better look
Rhotinia: Yes, let's just pretend I knew that would happen
Meltam rolls a Stealth test:
Target: 14 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 1 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.20+1d20.7 = 27]
You did succeed!
Volmalric: That's an interesting facet of mettalurgy
Volmalric: I presume we still need the sedative?
Adolphus: Oh definitely. If Sophie starts to change shape before we get this injected in her, the graveyard will have a lot of new occupants very soon.
Sophie (laughing): Don't worry, when I go berserk, I only kill people who deserve it, like people who have vowels in their names.
Bridgit gives Sophie middle finger.
Volmalric: Sounds good, how do you want this administered? Judging by the consistency, it's nearly ready
Adolphus is checking on Bridgit to make sure she is okay, just pinned.
Meltam rolls an Insight test:
Target: 11 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.4+1d20.5 = 9]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Adolphus: Take that bellows cramp looking thing with the sharp bluish end, then pour the liquid in it. Rhotinia and I will hold Sophie down and you jam that into her chest and just keep pumping until she is asleep.
Adolphus looks at Rhotinia.
Rhotinia: In retrospect, there was probably an easier way to find a buyer for a barge full of leather....
Adolphus: Yes, there are better ways to sell barges of leather.
Adolphus: Okay Rhotinia, you take one arm, I'll take the other, and we hold her down. Ready Volmalric?
Sophie (singing): Bang bang! I'm a warrior! Hit me with your best shot!
Rhotinia nods and holds Sophie down
Bridgit gives Sophie both middle fingers, while ichor bubbles out of her mouth.
Volmalric pours the fluid into the device, lifting it up and aiming it at Sophie
Rhotinia: Uh oh, she's gone from Louis Armstrong to Pat Benetar. Pretty soon she'll hit Bruce Springsteen and then we're in real trouble
Rhotinia used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Rhotinia rolls an Athletics test:
Target: 10 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.15+1d20.3 = 18]

You succeeded and generated momentum!

Kazemi:
[1d20.7 = 7]
Volmalric plunges the bellows into her, pumping the fluid in
Sophie (singing): Jack and Diane, two kids in the....
Volmalric: Sleep for now, Sophie, and everything will be fine in a bit
Adolphus and Rhotinia manage to hold Sophie down long enough for Volmalric to drive the bellows into her chest and pump her full of liquids. Her eyes go wide and some of the solution begins to leak from her nose and mouth. Then she makes this gurgling laugh and slumps forward and begins snoring like an asthmatic blue whale.
Bridgit looks at her sister, then smiles and goes to sleep.
Volmalric: Whew
Adolphus: Okay, so most crises averted, except for the dead Town guardsman in my front office.
Adolphus wipes sweat from his brow.
Adolphus: Thank you, that is much easier with help.
Volmalric: Of course, thank you for the direction there
Rhotinia: I think I can probably help with that new problem
Volmalric: I suspect I would not have been in the position to properly determine which drugs to administer
Rhotinia: that is much more in my wheelhouse than sedating a lizard person
Adolphus: Oh yes, Rhotinia, if you could figure that out while Volmalric and I clean up back here, I would again be in your debt,.
Rhotinia: Certainly.
Rhotinia turns to Volmalric
Rhotinia: Punch me boy
Rhotinia: Make it look good
Rhotinia turns her cheek
Volmalric rolls a Melee test:

Volmalric takes off his gloves and throws a punch at her, aiming at a good spot to look worse than it is
Volmalric does damage with Unarmed:
Rolling 2d6 combat dice...
Total: 1 Effects: 0 [1d60.1+1d60.4 = 5]
Rhotinia: That will do.
Volmalric: Excellent, good luck out there
Volmalric turns and gets to helping out with the cleanup, donning his gloves again
Rhotinia returns to the front of the shop, takes a series of rapid, short breaths, and then takes a running leap to hurl herself through the front window
Rhotinia rolls an Acrobatics test:
Target: 8 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.17+1d20.18+1d20.7 = 42]
You did succeed!
Rhotinia dives headlong through the window, landing in the street near the guards outside
Rhotinia: Don't just stand there you idiots, they're getting away!
Guards: What? Are you alright?
Guards looks at Rhotinia and looks around trying to figure out "who" she means.
Meltam used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Meltam rolls a Society test:
Target: 11 Focus: 4 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 4 Momentum: 3 [1d20.5+1d20.8 = 13]

Rhotinia: Four men came in through the roof and stole a blue steel dagger from Adolphus' shop. Your man and I tried to stop them.
Rhotinia: He's in there alone against four men, we need to get in there and help him!
Rhotinia rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 14 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 4 Momentum: 3 [1d20.10+1d20.11+1d20.2 = 23]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Rhotinia charges back in through the door without waiting for a reply from the guards
Guards rush after Rhotinia to offer help however they can, as they are used to following instructions from scary forceful women who roll well with either Persuade or Intimidate.
Meltam rolls an Observation test:
Target: 12 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.16+1d20.7 = 23]

Rhotinia: We're too late... You two, head down the east street. You two, hook through the alley. The rest of you, come with me. We have to track down those men before they get away

Tack:
[1d20.17 = 17]
Rhotinia directs the guards and leads them away from the shop

As Rhotinia finishes up distracting the guards and sending them off on their merry way (and they also clear up the corpse and summon a window maker to get Adolphus a new window, etc. etc.) she hears Adolphus say...
Adolphus: Well, a combination of what my father learned from his father through years of trial and error, as well as talking with them. They are pretty sweet people.
Rhotinia: Well that was thrilling
Volmalric: When not drugged up, I suppose
Volmalric: Would you like some tea, Rhotinia?
Rhotinia: Sure
Adolphus: Did you meet with your typical great success?
Rhotinia accepts a mug of tea and then takes out a hip flask and pours some of the liquid into it
Rhotinia: No, the killers escaped
Rhotinia: And they stole your dagger too
Rhotinia: What is this city coming to?
Volmalric: Given how many guards died just the other day, they must have quite the turnover
Adolphus looks concerned, just now realizes that the dagger used to stab Bridgit was in the back of the sergeant AND he did not get it back.
Rhotinia: I can't imagine Cilissa will be concerned over their death
Rhotinia realizes that the guards left with the dagger and runs out
Rhotinia explains to the guards that the dagger which the captain was stabbed with was actually a display piece in Adolphus' shop. The attackers were attempting to steal it and used it as a weapon of opportunity, but Adolphus wanted it back.
Rhotinia rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 14 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.19+1d20.7 = 26]
You did succeed!
Guards give Rhotinia the dagger back, completely understanding the situation.
Rhotinia returns and hands the dagger back to Adolphus
Rhotinia is out of breath from running after the guards
Rhotinia: Note to self: next time, get the dagger back first
Adolphus: Well, these two are going to be out for a day or two. I need to let Meredeth know they both had "fainting sickness" and take care of a few things. As bracing as this has been, I would like a quiet rest of my day.
Volmalric: Absolutely. I did have things that I wished to discuss, but I'll inquire tomorrow.
Volmalric: Well then
Volmalric: Let's stop back at the inn for a moment, then we can continue to that Lemurian expert, shall we?
Rhotinia: You head back to the inn, I will ask around with the street rats and see if they've seen someone matching Meltam's description causing trouble
Rhotinia: If I don't find him, I'll join you shortly
Rhotinia rolls a Society test:
Target: 16 Focus: 5 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.17+1d20.4 = 21]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Volmalric: Do be discreet, we probably will want to keep our contact with Meltam low for the moment
Rhotinia meets up with Volamlric a short while later at the inn
Rhotinia: He seems to be a few steps ahead of us, let's head over to Seaward
Rhotinia: My contacts tell me he was.. blending in... around ther
Volmalric: Oh goodness
Volmalric: Were there quotes around "blending in"?
Rhotinia: Many, many quotes
Rhotinia and Volmalric find no signs of Meltam in their brief search, and end up deciding to go to Seaward Street and assume either something will explode, demons will appear, a flaming Meltam will drop from the sky, etc.
Meltam used a Fortune point to restore their Resolve to max.
Rhotinia leads Volmalric to Seaward street
Volmalric follows after
Rhotinia: There is a man named Democles here who supposedly is an expert in Lemurian and Acheronian history.
Rhotinia rolls an Observation test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.6+1d20.7 = 13]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Rhotinia keeps her eyes out for Meltam
Rhotinia and Volmalric find no sign of Meltam, but they do find the shop Rhotinia was told to "check out". It belongs to a man called Democles, who is an elderly, scholarly, looking man who seems significantly more nervous than you would expect. Almost like he had a bad experience with a different customer not long ago.
Democles: Hello and welcome?
Rhotinia: Hello sir.
Rhotinia bows politely
Rhotinia: I am Yuz-Bashi Rhotinia of Ophir, this is my companion Volmalric of.... Actually I never really asked where you were from
Rhotinia: But regardless, we are pleased to meet you
Volmalric gives a bow alongside her, standing a little behind
Rhotinia rolls a Society test:
Target: 16 Focus: 5 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.19+1d20.5 = 24]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Democles bows in response.
Volmalric: Aquilonia, though I've traveled as much as I've lived there.
Democles: Ah, I am, Democles, native of Argos, but I aspire to travel more at some point. I would like to visit Ophir, all that beautiful Acheronian artwork, architecture, quite wonderful to behold. I have heard many things and seen paintings in the homes of rich nobility here.
Rhotinia: I have heard from many reliable sources that you are the local expert on Lemurian and Acheronian history
Rhotinia: Perhaps you could help us unravel a mystery of sorts
Democles: Certainly, how can I be of assistance to you?
Rhotinia: I have been trying to find records of a Lemurian noble named Rhiveth
Rhotinia: I thought she was a princess, but I could not find her in any of the geneolgies
Rhotinia: She was definitely wealthy, and almost certainly pre-acheronian
Volmalric: We believe she lived in, or at least passed away in, what is now Zingara.
Meltam rolls an Observation test:
Target: 12 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.15+1d20.9 = 24]

Democles: Princess Rhiveth? Really? As in, "Princess Rhiveth of Lemuria?" If we are talking about the same person, it is possible she died in Zingara, but most records suggest Argos as a more likely location, somewhere along the coast definitely. She does not show up in written geneologies, only ones passed down after the Cataclysm. Supposedly she was the last of the ancient Lemurian nobility, and led her people to freedom during a violent slave rebellion when they threw off the enslavement of the Giant-Kings and the Stygian Serpent-people.
Democles seems to be gushing and excited to talk about this.
Meltam: A crow or crow like bird lands on Volmalric's shoulder and whispers in a low tone before fluttering off.
Democles: Really, she is...
Democles gets really nervous and stops talking as soon as a crow flies in through an upstairs window.
Volmalric blinks in surprise
Volmalric: Excuse me for just a moment, that was more than a little odd...
Meltam The bird looks grim and serious.
Meltam The bird nervously shoots it's gaze all around the shop while twitching nervously.
Volmalric gets up and heads back out, whispering to Rhotinia to check potential motivations for Rhiveth, as well as siblings or rivals
Volmalric rolls a Persuade test:
Target: 12 Focus: 2 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.11+1d20.19 = 30]
You did succeed!
Volmalric steps outside for a little bit, looking around discreetly for the bird and stepping to a place where it could, theoretically, approach without drawing lots of attention to him
Meltam Bird has no patience. Bird takes off.
Volmalric used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Volmalric rolls an Observation test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.11+1d20.4 = 15]

Volmalric Current plan: Sneak away from here through maybe the back door, head back to the inn after losing tails, get the waitresses and head towards the graveyard
