Savage Worlds Ruleset for Fantasy Grounds II
(c) 2009 Pinnacle Entertainment Group.
The next morning dawns sunny and warm.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: I also found out where the dementia came from. I'm going to be nuttier than a jar of almonds by the time I get my mech fully done
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Yep.
Dr.MacVelian puts the finishing touches on her creation and actually managed to get a decent night sleep last night.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Rolling for nightmares...wait, wrong character
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): PRAYERS FOR THE PRAYER GOD!
It seems that Bat Masteron, Wyatt Earp, and Cynthia Grey have all asked you to check out the Hovey farmstead and find out who killed them.
TADM: Hmm...or you can do something entirely different if that screams too much of railroading...
TADM: But at least you are not RIDING on a choo-choo.
The Hovey farmstead is about a forty minute horse-ride outside of Dodge.
GM: If there is somewhere else you would like to go, let me know.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): All set here.
Dr. MacVellian: Onward to Railroad Pass!
Uriel Iscariot: Beast Friend[Steed]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [1d6 = 2]
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Whew....
Zach Dallas: Riding [1d4 = 3]
Uriel Iscariot: Riding [1d6 = 7]
Reverend Josiah Stanton stops by the Hotel in the morning and thanks Uriel again for his efforts and service. Uriel is truly a great example of all that is good with the Church.
Dr. MacVellian: Riding [1d6 = 5]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I'll settle for making a fool of myself
Okay, assuming that the rolls you made are to ride out to the Hovery Farmstead, you arrive successfully.
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 2]
GM: Well, I see that Uriel is clearly grief-stricken at the loss of the Hovey children.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot):
GM: As far as Uriel can tell, this is a perfectly normal farmstead. The graves here must be years old.
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 11]
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): durrr derp hurr....
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d6+2 = 12]
GM: With those massive rolls, Zach and MacVellian learn a few more things than Uriel does.
The bodies are buried, so you cannot really determine anything specific from them.
You do notice that there are no shell casings in the area, also you do not see any signs of a struggle or discarded ammunition.
Before leaving town, Bat Masterson informed you that a local family, called the Akers, collected all the Hovey livestock after the murders.
Zach Dallas: This looks like it was done with something similar to Conrad's weapon
Zach Dallas: At least it did when I came here the first time
There is no trace of dead livestock anywhere in the farm.
Dr. MacVellian: any giant holes like from the last homestead
There is no damage to any of the buildings.
Uriel Iscariot: Well dag nabbit, what in creation happened here?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): you're a bit late with that...
TADM: He's running slow, it was the low Notice check.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Fun fact: I connected to the game 11 times last week.
Uriel Iscariot: Well I dunna think it wise to just walk in, but I think we can ignore some good ol'd formalities at this point
The only thing that looks peculiar in the entire place is that there is a pile of rocks about two feet high and three feet in diameter near the well. The entire pile is made of small stones, none larger than the small bones in your fingers.
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Occult [1d6 = 3]
GM: Uriel pulls back nothing on this one.
[w] Zach Dallas: can I cast Hunch on it?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Sure, you can cast Hunch on any person, object, or location that you can touch.
[w] Zach Dallas: and how many Power Points did I get back?
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): (waits for rest of party to do something, I can't roll my way out of a paper bag)
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm assuming at least 5; it's 1/3 per hour
Dr. MacVellian: Goes to "inspect" the strange rock pile
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 7]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): on teh roks
[w] -> Zach Dallas: You get 4 back.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): ORKS? WHERE?
It is a pile of rocks. They seem perfectly normal to you. Although you pick up a few and hold them in your hand. Then you notice they are all polished smooth, like rocks from the bottom of a river bed.
[w] Zach Dallas: Hunch on their creation
Zach Dallas: Spellcasting [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 2]
Zach Dallas is using a benny
Zach Dallas: Spellcasting [1d6 = 3]
Zach Dallas is using a benny
Zach Dallas: Spellcasting [1d8 = 4]
This seems strange because, other than the Well dug near the barn, the nearest stream that would have stones in this area is about five miles away.
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: You douse it in holy water (assuming you could have done this last night or this morning) and you get a very soggy card. Nothing else exciting happens.
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM aww. okies. I has a soggy card. :3
Uriel Iscariot: Stand Back Zach....I have an idea on this!
Uriel Iscariot: Check for good soil
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [Critical failure!] [1d6 = 1]
[w] -> Zach Dallas: You cast a hunch on the rocks. You get a brief image of the rocks - moving - on their own. The rock pile throws little rocks at things in the distance.
GM: Uriel finds a spot of dirt that has clearly been peed on by cattle. He declares this is excellent and clean soil. Fit for any use!
Zach Dallas: The rocks aren't what's important
Uriel Iscariot: Don't mess with it, well get an answer in like ...however long it takes me not to fail....so a bit
Zach Dallas: It's what was done with the rocks
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Of course it's important! That's why GMs point out things like that!
[w] Zach Dallas: can I Hunch the dead bodies without unburying them?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Nope.
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM Wait, Are there any insects on the cattle stain?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Hunch requires you to "touch" the target.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Otherwise, what's the point of a) pointing it out, and b) railroading us here in the first place?
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: Not right now.
Zach Dallas: Heads over to the graves
Uriel Iscariot: Try again to find good soil...
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 4]
TADM: HEY! I said the party could do whatever it wants. I expected you all to whine about being railroaded to the Hovey Farm and had something entirely different planned for tonight.
Zach Dallas: Hey, Uriel, can you tell whether magic has been cast on those rocks?
Uriel Iscariot: I hath a plan yet!
Uriel locates some good soil.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Only kidding. The best rides on trains are the ones where you can't see the rails, anyway
Uriel Iscariot: Ah! The goodness of the land will provideth....
Uriel Iscariot: Beast Pal [Earth Worm]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [1d6 = 4]
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Anything under the pile?
Uriel Iscariot: Use Earth Worm[Pile]
Uriel Iscariot: Little one, do telleth what lieth under these stones!
Zach Dallas: Uriel?
Zach Dallas: heads back
Uriel Iscariot: A moment please. Do not be hasty.
Zach Dallas: Yo, priest, can you tell if magic has been used on those before?
Uriel Iscariot: I could, but thy errata from on high hath stripped me of such a skill.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Actually, screw it. I'll do some diggin'. I've been away too long. Bennies are not meant to be banked
Uriel's brave little earth worm burrows into into the dirt and heads straight for the pile of rocks at Uriel's bidding. It gets about six inches inside the pile of rocks and then Uriel feels it die.
Zach Dallas: because if I'm right, these rocks hurled themselves at someone earlier
TADM: It is very tragic. Dave has killed another small animal....
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Good. A critter dies within ...yep
Uriel Iscariot: Jumpin Jehova!
Uriel Iscariot: The Devil be at work here!
Zach Dallas: tosses a dagger at the rocks
Zach Dallas: Throwing [1d6 = 3]
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Actually, did we bring my mech? Time for a field test!!
Zach Dallas: get ready to jump
Zach's dagger hits the pile of rocks (barely) and then clatters down the side.
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: If you wanted to, then everyone walked here instead of rode horses here.
Zach Dallas: pulls out deck; shuffles cards
[w] Dr. MacVellian: I thought I made a cart for it already
Zach Dallas: Hmhmhm
Uriel Iscariot: Stand back, for thy hands could suffereth dearly.
Zach Dallas: Why do you say that?
Uriel Iscariot: Whirlwind[Pile]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [1d8 = 14]
[w] Dr. MacVellian: grrr...n/m
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Hmm...I guess so. You'd need a couple horses to haul it though, which would cost extra cash. Other than that I'm cool with it.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): (okay it's called windstorm)
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): It's whirlwind today
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Bible [1d6 = 5]
Uriel Iscariot: Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages.
Uriel exhorts everyone on the nature of the Almighty! A spinning wind circles descends upon the pile rocks and immediately dissipates after knocking a few stones loose.
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 10]
Zach Dallas: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 2]
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 5]
It then resumes in a tempest around the rock pile, but evidently cannot touch the pile of rocks.
Zach Dallas: This seems fishy
Uriel Iscariot: Verily.....
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Okay at this rate, I'll spring for the horses. Lets start it up!
Zach Dallas: Hey, you've got a burrowing machine, right?
Zach Dallas: and we've got a protected pile of rocks
GM: Dr. MacVellian has a look like a kid with a $10 coin in a candy store. She really wants to play with her invention!
Zach Dallas: I'm thinking they share a common fate
Dr. MacVellian: *blinks*
Dr. MacVellian: Did I just hear the STUPIDEST QUESTION EVER!?!
Dr. MacVellian: I think I did!
Zach Dallas: you should listen to yourself speak more often, then
Dr. MacVellian: But anyway, time for a field test
Uriel Iscariot: Hrm..Faith against Sorcery...who can get the pile to revealeth it's secrets....
TADM: Wow, Nick is doing a good job of playing the "socially inept" hindrance for Doctor MacVellian.
Uriel Iscariot: Surely, You will let me have one last try at this trial?
MacVellian climbs into her giant burrowing suit.
GM: Push the big red button!
Dr. MacVellian: Weird Science [1d8 = 14]
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): You just add a drop of water
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): *poof*
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Warthog online!
The suit powers up and comes to life.
Dr. MacVellian: Wait, I never programmed it to say that. Oh well, it works
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Was your Weird Science to turn on Env Protection or Burrow?
[w] Dr. MacVellian: First one will be for Env Protect. always
A series of interlocking plates descends over the cockpit as you smell ozone and burning Ghost Rock emanate from the machine.
The light inside the suit indicating that internal pressure has stabilized blinks into life.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Was checking my messages on the forum to double-check
Uriel Iscariot: Lights a cigar. Doesn't look all that impressed
Dr. MacVellian: Now, for the drill
Dr. MacVellian: Weird Science [1d8 = 4]
Zach Dallas: backs away some
Zach Dallas: pockets cards
Zach Dallas: holds hat
The drill-hand ratches up to a high speed, sounding vaguely like a dentist's drill.
Dr. MacVellian: Aims for the rocks
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Fighting roll, or Weird Science again?
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Fighting.
Dr. MacVellian: Fighting [1d6 = 11]
MacVellian's drill bit burns through pile of rocks in seconds, flinging them in dozens of directions and peppering the area with small smooth rocks.
You hear a resounding "crack" and then a few chunks of some blackish obsidian-looking rock fly from the bottom, scattering in all directions also.
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: How long do you run the drill and how far are you drilling down?
Zach Dallas: COAL!
Uriel Iscariot: Coal doesn't kill worms, Zach.
Zach Dallas: Actually, it does that stuff's pretty nasty what it doesn't do is cause rocks to launch themsaves at people
[w] Dr. MacVellian: One round worth should do. That's like 20 ft or so, right?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): any shards land near us?
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 5]
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 4]
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Sorry. 20 yards >.<
[w] Dr. MacVellian: I don't think I need to go that deep. So, like 10 ft should be fine
In the space of three seconds, MacVellian has carved a hole 10ft deep with the drill arm, she pulls the arm back out of the ground and it spins down slowly, then turns off.
Dr. MacVellian: Peers in the hole
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d6+2 = 4]
There are little obsidian shards all over. Most of them are the size of a finger. A couple are the size of your palm.
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Occult [1d6 = 5]
Zach Dallas: Well, any evidence that was there before have been completely obliterated
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): It's tainted jade!!! Wait, wrong campaign. Again
The hole looks like it is 10' deep. The dirt around the hole is blackened.
Dr. MacVellian: In rock, paper, scissors, drill beats everything! :)
Uriel Iscariot: *blows smoke circles*
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Did we ever decide on damage for the drill?
Uriel Iscariot: can your machine do that? =)?
Zach Dallas: on a much larger scale, I'm sure
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: Your combination of Notice and Occult prompts you to pick up one of the palm sized pieces. There is some sort of greenish stain on it. You do not get much of a chance to look at it because your fingers heat up and start to blister.
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: 2d6 with AP8.
Zach Dallas: inspects a shard on the ground
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 3]
Uriel Iscariot: Zach, this is not coal. 'ere, I reckon a little match will resolve this dispute
It looks like a piece of obsidian. The drill bit shredded it pretty badly, so you cannot tell much more than that about it.
Uriel Iscariot: match[Black shard]
Dr. MacVellian: waits for the explosion
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Yep.
Uriel lights a match and tries to set the rock on fire. Nothing happens.
TADM: Match 0. Rock 1.
Uriel Iscariot: *glares at Zach*
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Rock: 0. Drill: over 9000!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): don't make me end you
Uriel Iscariot: Dr. MacVellian, now what in the world is this? Puddin head over here is spittin out nonsense!
Zach Dallas: Do you think there was some written clue on this before it was demolished?
Dr. MacVellian: None of you wanted to touch it, so I guess we'll never know
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Your "nose for rock" is telling you that there is Ghost Rock in the area. And not the Ghost Rock in your suit.
Zach Dallas: sigh
Dr. MacVellian: To determine direction/location
[w] Zach Dallas: meh, no guts no glory. I'll make a Deal to Hunch this; 3 power points
Dr. MacVellian: Ghostrock Finding {+4 Nose for Rock,+2 Alertness} [1d6+6 = 11]
Uriel Iscariot: Pardon Dr. MacVellian? What you say this stuff is?
The Ghost Rock smell is coming from the chunks of obsidian.
Dr. MacVellian: I believe you found some ghost rock. Strange, though. It's usually white
Zach Dallas is using a benny
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): pop the 2
[w] Zach Dallas: gimme an Ace
[w] Zach Dallas: well, this is embarassing
GM: [1d20 = 15]
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm not quite good enough to duke it out over a hunch >.<
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Make a Smarts check.
Zach Dallas: Smarts [1d8 = 9]
Uriel Iscariot: I think another trial is in order....
[w] Zach Dallas: out of curiosity, how harsh/kind are some of these punishments?
Uriel Iscariot: Elemental Manipulation[Water] douse shard
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 3]
Uriel Iscariot is using a benny
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [1d8 = 4]
[w] Zach Dallas: so is this to stop them from using/improving their devices? Also, can this only apply to the ones near me?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: However you wish to roleplay it. Good roleplaying will get you bennies. :)
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Well, there is one that you lose the ability to EVER cast a Spell again.
[w] Zach Dallas: wait, is that any spell or just the one I was trying for?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: All spells. Ever.
[w] Zach Dallas: holy shit
[w] -> Zach Dallas: But you have to BOTCH really damn bad for that to happen.
[w] Zach Dallas: lol
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Opening up the R console for stats....
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 5]
[w] Zach Dallas: on Doc
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): brb
Uriel dumps wtaer on the shard. The shard is now wet. Although the greenish ooze you noticed is more pronounced now.
[w] Zach Dallas -> Uriel Iscariot: I think we need to keep an eye on her. That pile was made of Ghost Rock, her haste could've killed us all.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Well, she seems distracted, arrogant, and obnoxious. Clearly she does not regard your life or Uriel's life as important.
[w] Uriel Iscariot -> Zach Dallas: just take cover=)
[w] Zach Dallas -> Uriel Iscariot: I'll leave it to you, brother
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): what green ooze?
GM: The green ooze his notice check found and yours did not until it was wet.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) She's poking around the obsidian shards and muttering something about Ghost Rock!
Uriel Iscariot: Well I'll be! If Dr. MacVellian says this is ghost rock, I'd say she needs some spectacles to go with her newfound wind up toy.
Zach Dallas: You sure about that?
GM: If MacVellian gets close and sniffs at the green ooze, it seems that 50% of the ooze seems to be made of powdered Ghost Rock.
Uriel Iscariot: Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Raise on Spell -4, Novice Power Penalty -2) [1d8-4 = 2]
[w] Zach Dallas: now, if I remember correctly I did a Hunch on this place in a miniquest and got someone using Conrad's gun to kill them. Is this the correct location?
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Now that you are looking at things, this definitely looks like the work of Conrad Judson! His gun fired small rocks, was black, and used Ghost Rock!
[w] Zach Dallas: also, I'm watching Doc for any suspicious movement
[w] -> Zach Dallas: This is the place. Now that you have looked at this differently, you suspect that the ammo that hit the Hovey's might have been small sharp pebbles. Also, you only saw a shadow of a squat man who looked like Conrad Judson. You actually did not clearly see him or his gun.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: If that were the case, why would they all be in one spot, and buried under such an obvious marker?
Uriel Iscariot: Well...took moses three times to strike real water, don't see why It shouldn't take me as many....
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: It does look like his work. Although you have valid points. Carry on then.
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Raise on Spell -4, Novice Power Penalty -2) [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6-6 = -3]
Uriel Iscariot is using a benny
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Raise on Spell -4, Novice Power Penalty -2) [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6-6 = 9]
[w] Zach Dallas: did it look like a machine he was running or did it have to be an autonamous machine?
Uriel Iscariot: O Jerusalem, wash the evil from your heart and be saved.
Uriel dumps Holy Water on a shard. The shard melts. The ground it was sitting on turns black.
Zach Dallas: I bet that's as good for the soil as that accursed contraption
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Well, it looked a lot like Conrad Judson. The ammo was firing from the "gut" of the shadow, just like his gun did when it was strapped on him and he was shooting buffalo.
Uriel Iscariot: Dr. MacVellian, what have you to shareth with us about such a mineral?
Dr. MacVellian: hmmmm
Dr. MacVellian: Smarts [1d6 = 4]
Uriel Iscariot: Surely, in thy heart of hearts, thy know this to be more than simply Ghost Rock
[w] Zach Dallas: I was actually thinking it was probably the rocks, since I know the rocks can throw stuff. My guess now is that the black shards were an evil device. Could he have been standing behind the pile or is it in the wrong spot?
MacVellian is convinced that no rock known to mankind, including Ghost Rock, would melt when in comes in contact with Holy Water. Especially if it does not melt when it comes in contact with normal water.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: You need a HUGE notice check before I answer that.
Zach Dallas: Notice [Critical failure!] [1d4 = 1]
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Hmm...on second thought. This is the wrong farm.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Dr. MacVellian is carrying guns. You swear one of them has the words, "Death to Zach Dallas" written on the handle.
[w] Zach Dallas: wtf since when has she had guns?
[w] Zach Dallas -> Uriel Iscariot: did you notice she had guns?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Wow, good question! She must have bought them just for the purpose of killing you!
[w] Uriel Iscariot -> Zach Dallas: Not really. But a little pew pew is good ;3
[w] Zach Dallas: she's clearly on to me
[w] Zach Dallas -> Uriel Iscariot: I'm pretty sure she knew this wasn't actually ghost rock. Call it a hunch.
[w] Uriel Iscariot -> Zach Dallas: lol
[w] Zach Dallas -> Uriel Iscariot: no, seriously, I think she's lying
[w] -> Zach Dallas: She is probably protecting Conrad Judson now that you think about it. After all, she did just destroy a bunch of evidence and those "scientists" all stick together.
Uriel Iscariot: Hrm
Uriel Iscariot: Well we checked it out....I don't see what else we can gather from here
[w] Zach Dallas -> Uriel Iscariot: I failed my spell, so I don't know what she's hiding and I'm out of PP now, but she sure built that machine fast
[w] Zach Dallas: Nah, I know he went to Memphis
[w] Zach Dallas: also, before the Hovey's death. Which actually makes sense
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) That's what the Black River people told you....
For those wondering, it is now 10:00 in the morning.
Uriel Iscariot: Dr. MacVellian, what do you think?
[w] Zach Dallas: TRUE. Also, it would correlate to her and Grey's similar points of view. Point of views?
Uriel Iscariot: On The crater
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 7]
Dr. MacVellian: It is very strange indeed
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): actually...
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 15]
[w] Zach Dallas: one of those two dice was for one eye, on Doc. The other was on the pile's previous location, to see if it had moved or what.
Dr. MacVellian: smirks. as everyone disses my machine, and yet has no problem talking to me while I'm inside it
Uriel notices that the ground is darkened and the soil around the crater is dead. In fact, his little earthworm died right when it hit the circle of blackened earth.
[w] Zach Dallas: I'd be awesome if the Manitou caused my eyes to go in either direction freely without causing permanent damage
[w] Zach Dallas: and they had to make notice rolls for it
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm assuming it's in me, slanting my perception
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Doc is doing nothing unusual. You do notice something odd though. There are "tracks" showing the rocks rolling up to the pile. It also looks like the "pile" moved around a bit on its own.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Bingo on the Manitou being inside you and screwing with your perception.
Uriel Iscariot: HRM
Uriel Iscariot: Sits down for a prayer and contemplates the situation.
[w] Zach Dallas: a wierd scientist without metal is not a weird scientist
[w] Zach Dallas: *twitch*
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Yeah, but maybe she's grafting it onto her body!
GM: Okay, so who would like to do what next?
[w] Zach Dallas: sneaking over toward her. I need to prod her to make sure. Aiming for the torso, first. She'll probably go to protect her inner workings
GM: Since I don't want everyone to sit here bored while Zach goes insane.
Zach Dallas: Stealth {--2 Untrained:Mike} [1d6-2 = 2]
[w] Zach Dallas: that was to make it natural
[w] Zach Dallas: or would there be a better roll for it?
Dr. MacVellian: I'm curious too, cuz it's getting a tad warm standing around doing nothing
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Agility.
Zach Dallas: Agility [1d8 = 6]
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Notice check please.
[w] Zach Dallas: wait, she fiddled with my guns earlier
[w] Zach Dallas: OH SHIT
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6+2 = 5]
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) UH OH!
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: You don't notice anything unusual.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: oh, why not
Dr. MacVellian is using a benny
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d6+2 = 9]
[w] -> Zach Dallas: you sneak up next to her.
[w] Zach Dallas: ditching those in the brush first. OR EVEN BETTER. Swap one of mine for hers.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: much better :)
[w] Zach Dallas: then when she tries to blow them up, we get a repeat of Tack
[w] Zach Dallas: but I'm not sure how to do this without her catching on that I've caught on
[w] -> Zach Dallas: She has a revolver shotgun and a rifle, you can't "swap" them.
[w] Zach Dallas: does she have a backpack?
Uriel Iscariot: Well.....if Dr. MacVellian hadn't used the drill we might know more about this stuff
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Yes.
Uriel Iscariot: But what I will say is that it is definetly the stuff of evil
[w] -> Zach Dallas: It is in the cart.
[w] Zach Dallas: well, I suppose I'll leave my guns in there. I still have the knives and I can actually PASS blast on a Deal
[w] Zach Dallas: first though...
Uriel Iscariot: Notice[The Well]
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 5]
Zach Dallas: shuffles cards
[w] Zach Dallas: dropping some of my cards when Tack talks next and lunging to catch them, prodding Doc's side in the process
Uriel notices nothing unusual about the Well. The bucket is sitting on a rope next to a winch.
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm going to pretend he distracted me
Dr. MacVellian: walks the mech back to the cart before shutting it down
Zach Dallas: OI
Dr. MacVellian: I'm going to go inspect the house
Zach Dallas: With all the contamination around here, I don't think it's safe to be running that deathtrap
[w] Zach Dallas: oh, crap, I haven't unloaded my guns yet...
[w] Zach Dallas: oh, well, she can't nuke'm if I'm in close proximity
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) You could unload them into her... :)
Dr. MacVellian: Someone a little afraid of Ghost Rock?
[w] Zach Dallas: after she got to work on them? I don't think so. they're probably set to shoot backwards if I shoot her or her evil overlords.
Zach Dallas has been awarded a benny
Uriel Iscariot: You may want to clean your drill there Doctor
Uriel Iscariot: Use[Bucket] on Well
Zach Dallas: Did you see the explosion Conrad's gun made?
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Zork for Life.
Zach Dallas: a "little" ghost rock is enough to fry a family of farmers
Zach Dallas: glares at Doc
Zach Dallas: not that you would know anything of that
Uriel winches the bucket down into the Well. He pulls the bucket back up. It is full of clean, fresh looking water. From the sounds, it seems that the Well is fed by an underground stream.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Inspects drill for damage
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d6+2 = 6]
[w] Zach Dallas: do I get to know how long this unfortunate failure will last me?
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: It looks like it could be sharpened a little. You hit something that was a bit "rough" to burrow through.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Well, I can tell you "1d6 days"
[w] Zach Dallas: oh, I was expecting a minimum of a week, they aren't usually so nice
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Nah, you passed the Smarts check with a Raise, so only 1d6 days.
GM: What is Uriel doing with his bucket of water?
[w] Zach Dallas: you may want to make sure Nick knows his Mech hasn't been put away. I won't be letting her use that thing. She'll clearly kill me if she does
Uriel Iscariot: poor it on the ground
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): pour?
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): .....Eff
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): slightly different connotations there
Dr. MacVellian: heads toward the ranchhouse
Uriel Iscariot: I will unleash the torrent of a single bucket onto the ground,
The water is poured on the ground. Nothing exciting happens.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Woot!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I'm starting to wonder which of us is more sane...
MacVellian goes into the farm house. It looks tidy and neatly maintained. There is a layer of dust near the doors and windows from where the wind has blown through in the past few days since the last time the house was cleaned.
Zach Dallas: follows
Uriel Iscariot: Well hell. Okay well Someone needs to go and do it, so I might as well. Who wants to go to the stream?
Uriel Iscariot: (realizes he is talking to himself)
There is some spoiled food here.
Uriel Iscariot: HEY YALL! Im going to the STREAM!
Zach Dallas: YOU'LL DROWN YOU IDIOT
Zach Dallas: THE STONES ROLLED HERE FROM ELSEWHERE
Zach Dallas: LOOK AT THE PATHS
GM: Notice checks inside the house?
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 15]
[w] Zach Dallas: again, I would like the D4 assigned to Nick and the D6 to look around the house. We'll assume a 13. and chameleon eyes would be amusing
Uriel Iscariot: I CANT DROWN! THE LORD IS WITH ME THIS DAY!
Zach Dallas: NAME ONE TIME THE LORD STOPPED SOMEBODY FROM DROWNING WITHOUT A WHALE
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6+2 = 4]
Zach Dallas: WHALES WILL NOT WORK TO YOUR FAVOR DOWN THERE
Dr. MacVellian: Jesus when he walked on water?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: She is looking around the house absentmindedly. The way she keeps sniffing indicates that she is clearly looking for more Ghost Rock!
[w] Zach Dallas: any sign of Ghost Rock around here?
Zach Dallas: wat?
Zach Dallas: First off I'm pretty sure Jesus never let his head get wet
Zach Dallas: hard to drown without that
MacVellian and Zach find a bunch of small stones scattered around the house. Some are embedded into the walls. They all have extremely sharp edges.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: No sign of Ghost Rock.
Dr. MacVellian: Strange that they would repair the house, yet leave these rocks everywhere
Zach Dallas: Clearly the amunition used for some infernal device
Dr. MacVellian: If it was, there'd be a big hole in the house
Zach Dallas: You...you're pretty dense, aren't you? the giant hole was likely Isabella. This is clearly the work of a Mad Scientist
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): I liked it better when you were a ninja
GM: So is Uriel taking the rope down the Well hole?
Uriel Iscariot: Oh sure
Zach Dallas: magics don't need ammo
GM: Climbing check Uriel.
Uriel Iscariot: Environmental Protection[self] for breath
Uriel Iscariot: Agility [1d6 = 4]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [1d8 = 13]
Uriel slides down the rope into the Well. The water is cold. The Environmental Protection kicks in and allows him to breathe and move underwater.
Uriel Iscariot: Lightning.
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [1d8 = 15]
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): EPIC SUICIDE!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): ROFL
Uriel Iscariot: What in the nine hells is down this well....
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): water?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): fish?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): an idiot priest?
Uriel creates Light. He can now see that this is a shallow underwater stream, about 6 feet deep. It extends in both directions for quite a ways. One branches off to the northeast, the other to the southwest.
GM: For the record, Dodge City is southwest of here. The water flows to the northeast.
[w] Zach Dallas: he's lucky I'm not paranoid towards him
Uriel Iscariot: Swim Northeast
[w] Zach Dallas: I'd have stayed with him and just cut the rope
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): let me know if a) the water turns to pink slime, and b) if dodge has a museum
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Wait can't I just walk instead of swim?
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): since he didn't tell us to let him know if we killed his charatcer, can i kill him now?
TADM: For three hours, yes, you can just walk.
Uriel Iscariot: Sweet!
GM: The current is also not very strong, so you can walk "upstream" at 3/4 your normal pace.
TADM: I think Dave might be manifesting Nate here.
TADM: Light will last for 30 minutes.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): If this was being typed in whispers, we would be leaving you behind
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): because we'd be assuming you're dead
GM: Okay, so what is everyone doing?
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm watching the backstabbing woman
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 8]
Dr. MacVellian: I'm going to go scout the outlying area
Uriel Iscariot: 30 mins up stream(15 min there and 15 back) and ditto down stream, then its back up.
Zach Dallas: Meh, I'll go with. I don't feel like following Uriel into a well
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Need to cool down. Too much hot air coming from the menfolk
Uriel finds nothing interesting during his hour of wandering in the stream.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): In a song titled "We're sending our love down the well"
Hopefully the rest of the group will find something amusing to do for an hour.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): clearly doesn't want to be bored. Is following like a bounty hunter after scum
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) NOW IS YOUR CHANCE. There are no witnesses! Kill her!
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): No one caught the simpsons reference. I r sad. T.T
Uriel Iscariot: (walks upstream)
[w] Zach Dallas: I won't kill her, since she's probably behind this. I need more time for PP so I can Hunch enough info out of her
Uriel Iscariot: Invigorating!
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) GRR! Care to try the Hunch right now? :)
[w] Zach Dallas: wtf why didn't I take fighting?
TADM: That is a damn good question Mike. I ask myself that frequently.
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d6+2 = 9]
[w] Zach Dallas: NO WAY
[w] Zach Dallas: there's a reason that was my first time Hunching
[w] Zach Dallas: I can't count on 3 power points
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) OOhh...I'll give you some juicy power little man.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) You know you want it....
[w] Dr. MacVellian: By the way, what was the 9 for the Notice check earlier that you said was important?
[w] Zach Dallas: or I can wait another hour. She can't move while tied up
[w] Zach Dallas: what's the bonus for catching her offguards?
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Oh, to check and see if you spot something being tampered with on your suit. You will next time you inspect it. Since the 9 passed the check.
[w] Zach Dallas: actually, if she had a moment where she was working with Dial, I probably can't even Hunch that. The cunning bastards
[w] Zach Dallas: I have to take her alive
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Well, I'd say you likely have "the drop" on her, so +4 to hit and +4 damage in the first round.
[w] Zach Dallas: sweet, I have an iron skillet. That'll do
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm getting her in the back of the head with my frying pan
TADM: WOW! Gratuitous LOTR reference, here we come!
[w] Dr. MacVellian: I get a Notice Check before he attacks me. Thank you Danger Sense!
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} +2 [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 3]
Dr. MacVellian is using a benny
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} +2 [1d6 = 7]
Zach Dallas: Damn demon-powered danger sense
MacVellian, you suspect that Zach is about to nail you in the back of the head with an iron skillet.
Zach Dallas: hands behind back, as if strolling
[w] Zach Dallas: sliding my skillet handle into a pocket
Dr. MacVellian: Spirit (Multi-Action Penalty -2) [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6-2 = 12]
[w] Zach Dallas: wedging it so it won't fall, as well
Zach Dallas: holds out empty hands
Zach Dallas: I was just walking
Zach Dallas: See?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) KILL HER! KILL HER NOW!
[w] Zach Dallas: hopefully he forgot that I'm wearing a giant duster
Dr. MacVellian: Go back and fish the preacher out of the well
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: Oooohh! Fish!
[w] Zach Dallas: AFTER she stops pointing a short ranged shotgun at me
Zach Dallas: Uh...
Zach Dallas: I kinda stopped paying attention...
Zach Dallas: rubs head
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM I will feed a thousand with only 3
Zach Dallas: I'm not sure which way that was...
Dr. MacVellian: pulls hammer back on shotgun
Dr. MacVellian: Move!
Zach Dallas: Woah, woah, woah! Where to?
Zach Dallas: I really wasn't paying attention
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) She is going to use you for a guinea pig! Stop her now!
[w] Zach Dallas: waiting for the gun to point elsewhere...
[w] Dr. MacVellian -> Zach Dallas: Seriously, what the hell are you doing?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Dallas Err...no wait. If you die then so do I.
[w] Zach Dallas -> Dr. MacVellian: seriously, I wasn't doing anything. I think there might be something around here, though
[w] Zach Dallas: teehee <3
Dr. MacVellian: *mutters* Stupid gambler
[w] Zach Dallas -> Dr. MacVellian: It's been messing with me a bit
[w] Zach Dallas: readies a card in my sleave
A glowing barrier appears between Zach and MacVellian. Hundreds of leering spectral faces howl at you.
Zach Dallas: This is unexpected
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): not my plan. I don't have barrier
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Sorry, bit of a panic there...
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I don't like blatent powers
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: The water is starting to freeze. You get the feeling something truly UNHOLY is going on.
[w] Zach Dallas: eh, not too much of a problem. Does that barrier work two ways?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Yep.
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM time to stop playing TMNT and get to the bussiness of the LORD
Dr. MacVellian: What the hell did you do?!?
Dr. MacVellian: Guts {+1 Novice} [1d6-5 = 6]
Dr. MacVellian is not scared of the silly wall.
Zach Dallas: Guts {+1 Novice} [1d4+1 = 4]
Zach Dallas: Um. This doesn't look like it's doing anything
Zach Dallas: how far does it go?
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 5]
Dr. MacVellian: Not it, you!
Zach Dallas: Me? I can't do flashy stuff. That's what gets you caught and arrested
Zach Dallas: Well, except maybe dynamite
Zach Dallas: but that's legal in most places with a permit
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: After a few seconds the water completely freezes. You can slide all the way back to the bucket. It will take about 2 rounds to get there. Assuming you pass the ludicrous check to stop on the slippery surface.
Zach Dallas: As a matter of fact...
Zach Dallas: I should be asking what did YOU do?!
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM is the ludicrous check the result of going ludicrous speed?
Dr. MacVellian: I didn't do anything. Given our track records, this is naturally your fault
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: Yes.
Zach Dallas: or, we can think why someone else would want us to panic and separate
Uriel Iscariot: Agility [1d4 = 2]
The wall of leering faces goes about 20' in both directions.
Dr. MacVellian: We could both try walking toward the well. Maybe the barrier will move with us
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: You smsh into the rocks, bucket, and multiple other items, but manage to bring yourself to a halt. You did pick up 2 levels of fatigue though. :(
GM: Guts {--2 Doubting Thomas,-1 Novice} [1d6-1 = 3]
Zach Dallas: Perhaps. Which way was the well?
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: At least you did not go to plaid.
The Well is on Zach's side of the wall.
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Are you still pointing the shotgun at Zach?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) This one is cagey. We must kill her subtlely.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Yes
Zach Dallas: Well, I guess I'll meet you over there.
[w] Zach Dallas: Can't kill her, she was by Dial. I can't Hunch Dial.
[w] Zach Dallas: Plus, she's got anti-subtle powers
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Hmm...not while she's asleep.
[w] Zach Dallas: TRUE
[w] Zach Dallas: Patience, my precious. Patience.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Umpf urgh etc...
[w] Zach Dallas: BWAHAHAHAHAHA
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: Climbing check to get out of the Well.
Zach Dallas: Heads off toward the well
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: Don't forget your -2 for Fatigue.
Uriel Iscariot: Agility (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d4-2 = 9]
Uriel climbs out of the Well just as Zach Dallas reaches the edge of it.
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: Notice check.
Zach Dallas: OI, I think Doc is starting to lose it
Uriel Iscariot: Don't go in there! Its scary....
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Is the wall still there?
Zach Dallas: ...
Uriel Iscariot: Notice (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [Critical failure!] [1d6-2 = -1]
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Yes.
Zach Dallas: It's a well, if you're claustrophobic that'll happen
Dr. MacVellian: tries to go around it
Zach Dallas: Are you OK?
MacVellian walks around the wall of leering faces. It dissipates before Uriel notices it.
Uriel Iscariot: My eyes, the goggles do nothing.
TADM: Chlorine! Chlorine in my eyes!
Zach Dallas: Anyway, she seems to have eyes on the back of her head and the ability to summon spectral walls
Uriel Iscariot: Wait WHAT?
Zach Dallas: Plus, she kinda pulled her gun on me out of nowhere
Zach Dallas: I think her machine and this evil ground tainted her
Uriel Iscariot: I leave to be an idiot for an hour, and a foul spirit enters my party....
Zach Dallas: You're a priest. Do you know anything about purifications
Zach Dallas: ??
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Shouldn't priests have a natural Detect B/S Edge?
Uriel Iscariot: Sure do. =)
Zach Dallas: Excellent. She'll likely put up a fight, though. We'll need to keep her away from her machine and restrain her
Zach Dallas: Which might be hard if she's integrated her satanic devices into her body
TADM: Umm..Nick? Do you have anything to add to this conversation?
[w] Zach Dallas: I never got to check since Tack was too quiet
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Talk about being railroaded
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): no railroading
Uriel Iscariot: Here. Make her eat this.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): believe me
Uriel Iscariot: Hands a blessed host
TADM: It's not me! This has nothing to do with me!
Dr. MacVellian: Gets on my horse and heads back to town with my invention
TADM: Please make a note in the official record that I had completely other things planned for the night.
Dr. MacVellian: I think we collected enough data for one day
[w] Zach Dallas: if she needs to drive that machine to get it into the Horse Cart from where she turned it off, I never let her do that
Uriel Iscariot: Beast Pal [MacVellian's Steed]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [1d6 = 8]
Zach Dallas: Riding [1d6 = 11]
Dr. MacVellian: Riding [1d6 = 8]
[w] Zach Dallas: also, I'm dumping my guns into the back of her cart. I need them hidden so she doesn't realize I'm onto her, though
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Nah, she parked it in the cart a long time ago.
[w] Zach Dallas: kk I'm fine then
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: You have successfully Beast Pal'd MacVellian's horse.
Uriel Iscariot: Dr. MacVellian, Zach tells me some things. I suggest we sort all this out like civilized god fearin people such that there is no misunderstandings to be had
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Figures. I FINALLY get my machine built, and naturally the other PCs are technophobes and want to kill me and destroy my beloved creation!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Kill you and destroy your machine!? Why would we want to do that?! You're a necessary member of the team!
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Now you know the pain of a mad scientist. You can tell everyone about it at your weekly meetings of Inventors Anonymous
Dr. MacVellian: Kinda hard to misunderstand when someone swings a skillet at your head
TADM: No. One of them is a technophone and the other wants to kill you. Neither of them has both traits.
Zach Dallas: What are you talking about?
Uriel Iscariot: Let's not bicker and argue about who skilleted who
TADM: LOL!
Uriel Iscariot has been awarded a benny
[w] Zach Dallas: whoops, I meant to unload that skillet into the brush on my way over to Tack
Zach Dallas: I'm telling you, I didn't do anything
[w] -> Zach Dallas: That's fine, remove it from your inventory.
Uriel Iscariot: No really. What happened. Cause no one is using a horse until both of you describes the same happening.
Dr. MacVellian: Uh, b/s. You were going to kill me
Zach Dallas: First off, I don't HAVE a skillet, second off why wouldn't I just use my guns?
Uriel Iscariot: Hey now watch it, those words aren't very ladylike
TADM: I am still laughing at the "who skilleted who" line.
Uriel Iscariot: Notice[Mac's Noggin]
Uriel Iscariot: Notice (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d6-2 = 8]
Zach Dallas: You want to argue with that?
Zach Dallas: You've been off since we got here
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Um, because you have no bennies and a crit fail with guns might kill you
MacVellian's head seems perfectly normal looking to you.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): not with the work you did on them, remember?
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): what are you talking about?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Specifically made them idiot proof
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I payed you for the job
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): you fixed my guns so they wouldn't mess up when I crit-failed
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Was that what that was for? :?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): yes
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): :D
TADM: Actually, no, she fixed them so they wouldn't do horrible things when you rolled a 1 on the skill check. A crit fail is still bad.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): oh
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I'll keep that one in mind
TADM: A crit fail is ALWAYS bad. No amount of tinkering fixes that.
Uriel Iscariot: As far as my two eyes tell me, Zach didn't do such a thing
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): When you have so many voices in your head, there's bound to be a lot of mouths to feed
Zach Dallas: So it's pretty obvious there's something wrong
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Hey, I've only got a few in here :D
Dr. MacVellian: Ok. Let's hear your side of the story.
[w] Zach Dallas: I hope you're going to remove these whispers until this paranoia wears off
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Yeah, I might not post the chat log at all until the paranoia wears off.
Zach Dallas: I wasn't doing anything! I was following after you to pass time. I could either follow you or follow Uriel. One of those would've killed me
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): LEAPIN LUCIFER! That s[ellin is the work of abaddon, the DESTROYER! It alone is the cause of all ruination on the sould of mankind!
Zach Dallas: it's already obvious that there was something around there; the obsidian proves that
Dr. MacVellian: However, I never touched it
Zach Dallas: you were mighty close to those fragments. The gases must have messed with you
Uriel Iscariot: Dr. MacVellian, when was the last time you had communion?
Zach Dallas: You're sensitive to Ghost Rock, aren't ya?
Dr. MacVellian: So were you, for that matter. My suit is specially designed to protect against Ghost Rock
Zach Dallas: I was no closer than 5 feet. You leaned down to inspect it, plus you're already more sensitive. Hence, Uriel and myself weren't affected. That sensitivity is what separates you from the two of us.
Dr. MacVellian: Let's just forget the whole thing, and go searching for TADM's real plothook for the night
Uriel Iscariot: Thou shalt have thy daily bread, MacVellian!
Uriel Iscariot: Persuasion (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d6-2 = 3]
TADM: Really, I thought it was the second X chromosome?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): No way! you pulled a gun on me for no reason!
Uriel Iscariot: Dr. MacVellian?
Uriel Iscariot: Communion?
Dr. MacVellian: As far as I recall...never. Folks never really got onto the church crazy train...I mean, bandwagon
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Use your fists!
[w] Zach Dallas -> Uriel Iscariot: sounds supicious
Uriel Iscariot: You've been around a mighty dose of evil these days
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm not actually that good with fist fights and I think those guns would give her the edge
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Use someone else's fists!
[w] Zach Dallas: I was about to suggest a sleeping potion, but we both know where THOSE come from
Uriel Iscariot: You may want to start thinking about some long term investment, in SALVATION.
Dr. MacVellian: Really refreshing
Dr. MacVellian: Yeah, that's why I worked away from both of you for so long
Uriel Iscariot: ...Missy, who you calling evil?
[w] Zach Dallas: This was surprisingly easy to get the priest on my side
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Well, he is a technophobe.
Uriel Iscariot: ....
Zach Dallas: I think she was talking about the Church
Uriel Iscariot: Shes actin all stiff and funny
Uriel Iscariot: Let's get back to Dodge and let people know what we saw.
Zach Dallas: Plus, her "woman's intuition" managed to fabricate an entire skillet
Dr. MacVellian: Usually, it just produces accurate, intelligent info
Uriel Iscariot: Force horsey to go back with us
Zach Dallas: Which is why I've been saying something wrong got into ya
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): we have been riding as we talk, right?
You are about twenty-five minutes walk (on horse) from Dodge.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): we should be arriving right around now, then
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): given real time
The cart with MacVellian's invention is plodding along behind you.
TADM: Well, if everyone agree to ride along to Dodge City and no one does anything weird, then sure, you can be back in Dodge.
Uriel Iscariot: ./Agree
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): yup
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): yep
All right then.
The trio gets back into Dodge without further incident. You ride past the Union Blue station house and onto a busy street.
Dozens of people are walking around. Several children run up to look at the cart and MacVellian's suit riding along in the back of it.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): And now, back where relevant sh*t to the story was going on...
Dr. MacVellian: See? Even kids aren't scared of it
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Oh boy, this time, it's Nick that is going to make a village of people turn into monsters
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): and not the cute fuzzy ones....
Uriel Iscariot: Dr. MacVellian, Did you clean that mining claw?
You spot Cynthia Grey and three women walking out of a Dry Goods store. They are all carrying bolts of fabric.
Zach Dallas: Really? Hovel's kids seemed terrified of the ones that destroyed the train
Dr. MacVellian: More or less. Need to sharpen it later. Why?
Old Woman: I agree Ms. Grey, that red definitely suits you.
Cynthia Grey: Nonsense, not as much as the green will suit you. And that is a charming piece of silk you picked up.
Young Woman: Oh thank you Ms. Grey.
Uriel Iscariot: Mumbles something under his breath about Dr. MacVellian and should be more like normal women folk not devil worshiping machinists
Zach Dallas: mumbles agreement
The four women step out into the street. Ms. Grey looks up at you and smiles.
Cynthia Grey: Hello Mr. Iscariot and Mr. Dallas. Pleasant day to you. And I do not think I have the honor of meeting the young miss with you?
Uriel Iscariot: Ah...this is our...associate. She is a weaver of bolts and metals.....Dr. MacVellian!
Cynthia Grey: Doctor MacVellian, one of the inventors from the Symposium. In fact, the one who dealt with H.K. Dial I believe. I am honored to meet you.
She gives MacVellian a slight curtsy, very gracefully given the amount of fabric she is carrying.
Dr. MacVellian: Thank you. Always nice to meet another woman of enterprise and vision
Cynthia Grey: I quite agree. I hope you have the good fortune to....
[w] Zach Dallas: on Doc. I want to see how real this "first" meeting really is
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 9]
[w] -> Zach Dallas: They have never met each other before.
Another Irate Man: Cynthia Grey! You killed my brother!
[w] Zach Dallas: she must....oh, yay, more irate men.
A man steps out of a crowd and opens fire.
Another Irate Man: [4d10 = 27]
Another Irate Man: [2d6 = 8]
Another Irate Man: [2d6 = 7]
Another Irate Man: [2d6 = 8]
Another Irate Man: [2d6 = 10]
Old Woman: Eek!
Young Woman: Urk!
Young Woman: Ugh!
Cynthia manages to drop in time to miss the hail of lead. The women with her are not nearly so lucky.
Zach Dallas: Uriel, tend to the wounded!
Man: Stop that man!
Uriel Iscariot: AT ONCE!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): how far away is he?
Uriel Iscariot: Location and severity of wounds
Uriel Iscariot: Notice (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [Critical failure!] [1d6-2 = -1]
A couple men rush toward the gunman. He swivels to face them and unloads a shotgun into them at point blank range.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Oh no! not a shot to the antennae and thorax!
Another Irate Man: All of you get out of my way! She needs to die!
He is about 25' from you, currently his back is towards the group, but he can see Cynthia and most of the crowd just fine.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Dallas (Manitou) I like this guy's style. You should hire him.
[w] Zach Dallas: Let's see what happens to him and see if this would be a good thing to happen to us
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): any people between us or can I charge my horse right into him?
The street is clearing of people. Screams of "help" and "get the Sheriff" resound through the area. One thing is certain, Wyatt and the rest of the police are on their way.
TADM: Yes. And you would be blind-siding him also.
Oh, and Uriel is convinced all three injured women are dead. He is quite certain of it, because he is unable to locate a pulse at all by pinching their ears. Despite the fact that they are moaning in pain.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I'll take'm, then
Uriel Iscariot is using a benny
Uriel Iscariot: Notice (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d6-2 = 3]
Well, it turns out they aren't ALL dead, just MOSTLY dead.
GM: MacVellian doing anything?
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): On the phone. Sorry :(
TADM: Is Zach charging him?
Uriel Iscariot: Heal[LadyfolkA]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2, Novice Power Penalty -2) [Critical failure!] [1d8-4 = -3]
Uriel Iscariot is using a benny
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2, Novice Power Penalty -2) [1d8-4 = 9]
Zach Dallas: yes
Lady Folk A is revived back to full health.
GM: Riding check Zach.
Zach Dallas: Riding [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 2]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): that's unfortunate
Well, your horse rides right toward him. Too bad you aren't on it.
[w] Zach Dallas: I was about to petition to the Manitou, but decided not to when I remembered that wall
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): RECOVERY!
Zach Dallas: Agility [1d8 = 5]
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM I can send Dr. MacVellian right into the bad dudes, no? I still have her horsey?
Zach falls off his horse after 10' but manages to land gracefully enough to avoid injuring himself.
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: The spell only lasts for 10 minutes, so no.
The man spins as Zach's horse rides by. He levels his revolver at Zach.
Another Irate Man: And who the Hell are you?
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Witty one liner! Witty one liner!
Zach Dallas: Blasted gun shots made me lose control of my horse!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): how far away now?
He is 15' from Zach and 25' from Uriel, MacVellian, and Cynthia.
Another Irate Man: Well then, don't move while I dispense some justice.
The man turns to face Cynthia. She has crawled behind a watering trough and is peeking at him from the edge of it.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): does he turn away from me?
Another Irate Man: I don't care where you cower, I'm killing you! You killed my brother.
TADM: Nope, but he is not looking directly at you.
GM: Uriel or MacVellian have any actions to perform?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): tell me when I can act again
Uriel Iscariot: Heal[Ladyfolk_B]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2, Novice Power Penalty -2) [1d6-4 = 0]
Uriel Iscariot is using a benny
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [1d8 = 4]
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): Not at the moment. Sorry :(
The man double-taps at Cynthia. Then he drops his pistol and points the revolving shotgun at her.
Another Irate Man: [2d10 = 23]
Another Irate Man: [2d6 = 6]
Another Irate Man: [2d6 = 8]
He hits her twice, causing her to fly back from the water trough. Blood starts dribbling down her arm from where she was hit in the shoulder.
Another Irate Man: Did not think a demon like you bled red blood! Good now you can die!
TADM: Zach gets an action now.
TADM: And MacVellian, since she is on hold.
TADM: And technically, Uriel at the start of the next round.
Dr. MacVellian: jumps in the mech to get between Cynthia and the man
Dr. MacVellian: Agility [1d6 = 4]
GM: Okay, push the shiny red "power" button.
Zach Dallas: throws a dagger at the guy
Uriel Iscariot: Heal[Ladyfolk_B]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2, Novice Power Penalty -2) [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6-4 = -1]
[w] Dr. MacVellian: how much time passed since it was used last?
Dr. MacVellian: Weird Science [1d8 = 4]
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Scratch that, a little more than an hour.
The suit powers up, the cabin pressurizes.
Dr. MacVellian: moves between the two
GM: Throwing roll Zach.
Zach Dallas: Throwing [1d6 = 5]
MacVellian parks her suit between the man and Cynthia.
Another Irate Man: Don't think I won't shoot through you, dumb bitch.
Zach Dallas: ducks to the side
GM: Zach's knife misses.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): No initiative?
Another Irate Man: [1d10 = 8]
Another Irate Man: [2d6 = 8]
The man fires his shotgun at MacVellian. It hits her and leaves her dazed, but unwounded.
GM: Actions for everyone else?
Uriel Iscariot: Heal[Ladyfolk_B]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2, Novice Power Penalty -2) [1d6-4 = 5]
Zach Dallas: Runs toward the guy's side
Zach Dallas: Agility [1d8 = 7]
Dr. MacVellian: positions the drill between the gunman and cynthia (not spinning)
Zach Dallas: [1d6 = 4]
GM: Spirit roll for MacVellian to be "unshaken."
Dr. MacVellian: Spirit [1d8 = 2]
Dr. MacVellian is using a benny
Dr. MacVellian: Spirit [1d8 = 5]
Zach is 5' from the guy.
Zach Dallas: draws two daggers
TADM: FYI - If you use the Benny on the Spirit check to become unshaken you don't have to roll again, it is an automatic pass.
He spins to face Zach and fires his shotgun revolver.
Another Irate Man: [1d10 = 6]
Another Irate Man: [3d6 = 17]
[w] Zach Dallas: uh oh. This might be the end of us.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: EEEKKK!!!
Manitou: [1d12 = 8]
Somehow, amazingly, the shotgun blast curves around Zach, dealing no damage to him.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): teehee
The man steps back, a look of sheer horror on his face.
Another Irate Man: NNOOOO!!!!!
He drops and curls into the fetal position.
[w] Zach Dallas: bigger problem is the giant machine. We're gonna have to vanish and return incognito; when she's NOT invincible
GM: Notice checks anyone?
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm out of there. Slip into the shadows >.>
Dr. MacVellian: Notice {+2 Alertness} [1d6+2 = 7]
Zach Dallas: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 3]
Uriel Iscariot: Notice (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d6-2 = 8]
Zach Dallas: Stealth {--2 Untrained:Mike} [1d4-2 = 1]
[w] Zach Dallas: and by slip I mean just run away all panick-striken
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: If you don't look directly at him, you swear that some demonic creature is sitting on Zach's shoulders as he runs away from the fight.
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: If you don't look directly at him, you swear that some demonic creature is sitting on Zach's shoulders as he runs away from the fight.
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM that no good doulbe crossing dirty varmit!
Another Irate Man: EEEPP! She sent her devils after me! That man is one of them! Saints preserve us!
Zach Dallas: SHOTGUN AHHH
Zach Dallas: bolts
Deputy Spade: What in tarnation is going on here?
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Deputy Spade!
Deputy Spade: Oh my god! Miss Cynthia! Someone fetch the doctor!
Cynthia Grey: No...look after...the others first...the wounded...I'm okay....
Another Irate Man: Die! Must kill her!
The man starts crawling towards Cynthia, dragging his shotgun revolver behind him.
GM: Zach is running in terror. Anyone else have an action to perform?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): To clarify, I already ran around a corner
Uriel Iscariot: Heal[Ladyfolk_C] +Shoot last Irate man in the hand
Uriel Iscariot: Heal
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2, Novice Power Penalty -2, Multi-Action Penalty -2) [1d8-6 = -2]
Uriel Iscariot: Shooting (Called Shot (Limb) -2, Double-Tap +1, Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d6-3 = 13]
Uriel Iscariot: [Colt]
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): (and another -2 on that shooting, but I think I'm still good)
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Pew pew!
Uriel Iscariot: Colt (Army) damage [2d6+1 = 13]
The man lurches upright, holding the mangled stump of his hand and screaming in pain.
Another Irate Man: Nooo! I have to kill her! I must have revenge!
Failing to learn from the first lesson, he reaches for his gun with the other hand.
GM: Actions for everyone else?
Cynthia Grey: Oh my...this is...is this my blood...there is a lot of it here.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!
[w] Zach Dallas: I ought to be gone by now. I'm going to go into hiding for the moment
[w] Zach Dallas: Doc will kill us if we stay
[w] -> Zach Dallas: You are indeed in hiding.
Deputy Spade: [1d8 = 11]
Deputy Spade: [2d6 = 6]
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): I need an AOE heal lol
Deputy Spade shoots the guy in the other arm. He appears to briefly consider wanting to kick Cynthia to death, but passes out instead.
Dr. MacVellian: moves the mech back to the cart hastily
Deputy Spade: Don't worry none there Miss Cynthia. Doc Boone will be here any second to patch you up. Then you'll be right as rain.
Cynthia Grey: The ...other...wounded....check them...
Deputy Spade: Well, frankly I am a bit more worried about you.
The mech gets back into the cart. You can power it down at will.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): shutting dow...
GM: Not really in combat any more, so feel free to describe whatever it is that you are doing.
[w] Zach Dallas: where did my horse go?
Uriel Iscariot: Heal[Ladyfolk_C]
[w] -> Zach Dallas: You'd guess Virginia City by now.
[w] Zach Dallas: also, putting my weapons away
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm going to try to track that sucker down. He cost me quite a bit
GM: Alright, roll away. Or you could try a normal Heal check.
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2, Novice Power Penalty -2) [1d6-4 = 4]
[w] Zach Dallas: I don't know what to roll, though
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Streetwise?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: To ask people if they saw your horse.
Lady Folk C is healed and does not die.
Uriel Iscariot: TO CYNTHIA!
Zach Dallas: Streetwise [1d4 = 2]
The mech suit powers down.
[w] Zach Dallas: well, it should be obvious anyway
Cynthia Grey: No preacher...don't...check the others....(cough)...(blood dribbles down her chin)
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Well, for the first twenty minutes no one has any idea....
Uriel Iscariot: Heal[Cynthia_Gray]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Novice Power Penalty -2, Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d8-4 = 1]
Deputy Spade: Ma'am, those other men are dead. There is nothing that can be done for them.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): I will never go down a well again. Not even to save a puppy or kitty.
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: As you start to pray over Cynthia, your skin gets cold and clammy. Your tongue swells up as you try to pray.
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Occult (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d6-2 = 0]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): wait, did you kill everyone, Tack?
GM: Any actons for MacVellian?
Dr. MacVellian: Goes to check on Zach
Zach Dallas: Stealth {--2 Untrained:Mike} [1d4-2 = 0]
Uriel Iscariot: Medicine Check
[w] Zach Dallas: oh crap
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: You see Zach asking a group of people if they have seen his horse.
Uriel Iscariot: Using Red Cloth to apply pressure
Uriel Iscariot: Smarts (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2, Untrained -2) [1d6-4 = 1]
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): There was..yep
Dr. MacVellian: Zach, may I talk to you?
Cynthia winces.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): Infact, I could make an AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMBANDAGE....but .....
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Kill her! Kill her now!
[w] Zach Dallas: does she find me or am I far enough way?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: With your stealth roll and her Notice check, she finds you. Pretty easily. Almost like you are leaving a trail of bread crumbs.
Zach Dallas: Hold on, I need to find my $140
Doc Boone and Wyatt Earp arrive at the scene of the shooting.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): AN IMPORTANT NPC IS DYING AND YOU ARE FROGGING AROUND LOL
Doc shoos Uriel away, sets down his medical supplies, and examines Cynthia.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): I have been shoo'ed.
[w] Zach Dallas: are there witnesses?
Wyatt Earp: Uriel, can you and Spade unroll and hold up one of these bolts of cloth? To give Miss Grey some privacy until Doc Boone says it is okay to move her?
Wyatt Earp: I'm going to go check our gunman.
Uriel Iscariot: Raise Stat[Smarts]:Doc Boone
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Novice Power Penalty -2, Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d8-4 = 3]
Deputy Spade: Sure thing Wyatt. Let me know if you need anything else.
Uriel Iscariot: Yes of course.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Who cares? [w] -> Zach Dallas: The GM says yes, this is a busy street and people are out trying to figure out what was going on with all the shooting.
Wyatt walks over to check on the injured gunman.
[w] Zach Dallas: the WS are sneaky. They could have others nearby. We have to take'r when she's alone
[w] Dr. MacVellian -> Zach Dallas: Oh Zach...
Cynthia Grey: gurgle....whimper....cry....
Uriel Iscariot: Raise Stat[Vigor]:Cynthia
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Novice Power Penalty -2, Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d6-4 = 4]
Zach Dallas: Hold on, I lost my horse and I'm NOT losing $140
Uriel Iscariot: May the Lord guide the hands of the skilled, to cureth the wounds of the innocen!
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Can I still see his little "companion"?
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: No.
Zach Dallas: Unless you're offering to buy another one
[w] Zach Dallas -> Dr. MacVellian: with whatever dirty money you've managed to get ahold of
Zach Dallas: We can talk later
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: As soon as you try to pray for Cynthia, your skin gets cold and clammy. Your tongue swells up and you lose the ability to pray.
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM :x
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: This situation goes away as soon as you STOP trying to pray for her.
Zach Dallas: Now, you can either go back and give a hand to the authorities or you can give me a hand getting back to my horse
Zach Dallas: preferably the former
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: Man...that is one nasty Hindrance she has. I see why it is a Major with a Free Edge.
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM can I kn occult to figure out the Hindrance? =)?
Dr. MacVellian: fine. go look for your horse. why not ask the preacher? he seems to be more of the animal type
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: Since you've experienced it twice, yes.
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Occult (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d6-2 = 7]
Zach Dallas: He's more of the "next to an animal" type
Dr. MacVellian: goes back to help Earp
Zach Dallas: plus, he's been in a well all day
Zach Dallas: he's almost worse for the wear than you
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): At least in this well. there wasn't a band of necromantic mermen bent on the conquest of Kansas.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): wat?
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): At least I only fucked myself by doing that
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: She has a Hindrance called "Cursed" which prevents all beneficial effects from a Blessed or Shaman from ever working on her. You happen to know that only people who have offended God (in a big way, such that the Almighty himself is feeling Wroth) could ever be afflicted like this.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Hey, nobody's got any dice penalties due to me
[w] Zach Dallas -> Uriel Iscariot: that stupid, stupid, Danger Sense
Zach Dallas: I'll talk to you later, Doc
Doc Boone: I think we can move her now. Can we put her in that cart with the big suit thing and take her over to the Red Lady? She'll be more comfortable sleeping in her own bed.
Deputy Spade: Sure thing Doc. Let's move her over there.
Dr. MacVellian: gets back in the suit and walks it back to the warehouse
Uriel Iscariot: Helps as much as possible
Dr. MacVellian: Weird Science [1d8 = 3]
Dr. MacVellian is using a benny
Dr. MacVellian: Weird Science [1d8 = 7]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I wonder which one of us never cleaned their dangerous, tainted machine...
The mech powers up. Moving it out of the cart makes it much easier to put Cynthia in there.
Doc Boone: Thank you a lot Doctor MacVellian.
Deputy Spade: Yeah, thanks. That is a cool looking gizmo you got there. If you had that at the Symposium you should have won.
Uriel Iscariot: Raise Stat[Strength]:Doc Boone (for some good haulin)
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} (Novice Power Penalty -2, Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d8-4 = 2]
Dr. MacVellian: Maybe next year, sir
Dr. MacVellian: goes back to the warehouse
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Novice Power Penalty -2, Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d8-2 = 7]
Uriel Iscariot: Follows the healin possie back to the red lady
[w] Dr. MacVellian: How far's the warehouse from here?
Wyatt Earp: Don't worry MacVellian, I'll bring the cart back to your warehouse soon as we get Miss Grey settled.
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Probably about 1/4 mile.
Dr. MacVellian: Thank you. I'll be there
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): for the horse
Zach Dallas: Streetwise [1d6 = 4]
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Crap. Guess I better get going.
A bunch of kids, and a few adults, follow MacVellian back to her warehouse. They are all in awe of her snazzy suit. Several times she has to stop to avoid stepping on one of the kids as they run around the legs.
Zach Dallas finds his missing horse in the stable where he bought it from.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): do I have to buy it again?
Zach Dallas: Well trained horse.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): yes. after all it came back w/o it's owner
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): quiet, you
GM: Nah, the stable owner does have a smirk on his face the entire time he is giving it back to you though.
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Locks the warehouse, then a) sharpens drill, b) looks for "taint", and c) looks for tampering (which rolled a 9 earlier)
The "healing posse" gets to the Red Lady. They very carefully take Cynthia upstairs to her room. The Depot Manager stations 20 armed guards at both entrances to the Red Lady.
Uriel Iscariot: if Cynthia stable: find Zach
Within an hour, everyone in town knows that Cynthia was shot. It becomes a source of great speculation and rumor.
[w] Zach Dallas: Uriel=ally against the machine
Doc Boone: I'll stay with her. The rest of you can go. Thanks for your help.
TADM: aka Cynthia is stable.
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM I want to sucker punch Zach and bring him to the church for some BAPTIZIN, OLD SCHOOL STYLE.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): AH
Zach Dallas: here=city here=/=Red Lady
TADM: There are 40 Black River guards at the Red Lady. There are a total of 2 regiments of Black River soldiers in Dodge City. There are 4 Union Blue regiments in Dodge City.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Alright, all cleared up
[w] -> Zach Dallas: So what is Zach up to?
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm on my way back now
Uriel Iscariot: :searches out Zach:
[w] Dr. MacVellian: what do I discover in my "free" time?
[w] Zach Dallas: Doc's probably not in her death machine anymore
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: You sharpen the drill. You find no sign of taint. It looks like someone yanked out a couple guide wires on one side of the machine. Good thing you built in redundancy.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: On your way back where?
[w] Zach Dallas: to the hotel place
[w] Zach Dallas: wherever we're staying
[w] Zach Dallas: Tack can find me or miss me, doesn't matter
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Good deal. Can I determine when the wires were yanked?
[w] Dr. MacVellian: Also, could I take Bolt and use it as an electrical security system to prevent tampering?
Zach and Uriel run into each other in the entryway to the Cherrywick Hotel.
Zach Dallas: Yo
GM: As that is where you have been staying the entire time.
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: Yes.
Uriel Iscariot: Hey Daemon Boy. Wanna come to the church like a good, god fearin person, or do we have to do this the awesome way?
Zach Dallas: Demon?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Oh sheet! The jig is up!
Zach Dallas: looks quizzically at him
Uriel Iscariot: Fighting (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d4-2 = 1]
[w] Zach Dallas: not until he rests
Zach Dallas: sidesteps
GM: Wow, I declare this a Benny free zone!
Zach Dallas: So...yeah. What'cha mean by "demon"?
[w] Zach Dallas: does holy water hurt you?
Uriel Iscariot: I don't negotiate with possesed souls!
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Me no? You yes? (evil laughter)
Zach Dallas: But I'm not posessed...
Uriel Iscariot: Fighting (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d4-2 = 0]
[w] Zach Dallas: and if I die?
Zach Dallas: holds hand on Uriel's head as his arms flail
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) I plan on bailing out of you before that happens. (more evil laughter)
Uriel Iscariot: Son, I gone and saw a Daemon on your shoulder during that farcus two scenes ago
[w] Zach Dallas: nah, if you could do that you wouldn't have had to summon a giant wall and deflect a shotgun blast
Zach Dallas: You mean when he missed me?
Uriel Iscariot: I advise you too come with me to the church, if you know whats good for ya.
Zach Dallas: THANK GOD
Zach Dallas: I did not think he was watching me
Uriel Iscariot: SO YOU KNOW!
Uriel Iscariot: Even more reason to GO TO CHURCH.
Zach Dallas: huh?
Uriel Iscariot: Persuasion (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d6-2 = 3]
Zach Dallas: Spirit [1d6 = 5]
Zach Dallas: Persuasion [1d4 = 3]
Zach Dallas: It's Doc who got posessed
Uriel Iscariot: .....
Uriel Iscariot: Smarts [1d6 = 5]
[w] -> Dr. MacVellian: You can feel free to wander into this conversation any time you want.
Uriel Iscariot: Okay okay. Fine.
Uriel Iscariot: A game of cards.
Zach Dallas: Suuuure
Uriel Iscariot: You win, I stop bugging
Uriel Iscariot: Gambling (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d6-2 = 6]
It is late afternoon on a Wednesday.
Zach Dallas: Gambling ("Skill" +2) [1d6+2 = 13]
Zach has a hand of black Aces and black Eights, with the Queen of Spades again.
Uriel Iscariot: ....
Zach Dallas: Yeah....
Zach Dallas: Anyway, we need to get to the bottom of what got into Doc
Uriel Iscariot: Oh whatever. Stupid Well.
Uriel Iscariot: ./peaceout
Zach Dallas: This is aggravating
[w] Zach Dallas: you know anything about this?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Err....umm....gotta go.
[w] Zach Dallas: it's quite annoying that I get the Dead Man's Hand all the time
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) Big Evil has you. I'm not worthy.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: (manitou) you are MARKED!
Zach Dallas: LIKE HELL YOU'RE LEAVING
Zach Dallas: Spirit [1d6 = 11]
[w] Zach Dallas: cage the spirit into the inner recesses of my mind!
Dr. MacVellian: locks up the warehouse, then heads to the closest joint to get some grub
[w] Zach Dallas: that accidental lapse of memory to the /w is making this amusing
Kanitou [1d12 = 18]
Zach's face contorts in rage and his whole body shakes for a minute. He breaks out in a cold sweat. Then drops to his knees and gulps in air.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Did I catch the Missingno?
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 4]
[w] -> Zach Dallas: The manitou got away.
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 4]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): dammit...
Zach Dallas: Well, now that that's over
TADM: Awww...Uriel made Zach's friend go away.
Tack (Uriel Iscariot): lol
[w] Zach Dallas: out of curiosity, would it have been possible to keep it caged?
Zach Dallas: Wanna play another hand or two?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: For a couple more days at most, until the Huckster Backfire wore off. It beat your contested Spirit Roll though. (D12 with D10 Wild Die)
Uriel Iscariot: Son, I am exhausted mentally and physically.
Uriel Iscariot: Another day
GM: Uriel, roll a Vigor check.
Uriel Iscariot: Vigor (Fatigue (EXTREME) -2) [1d6-2 = 3]
GM: Okay, you recover 1 level of Fatigue, not both.
GM: Nick, you leveled up.
GM: Everyone else is good-to-go.
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): yay
Nick (Dr. MacVellian): wrote in my notes what i leveled
Campaign saved.
