Savage Worlds Ruleset for Fantasy Grounds II
(c) 2009 Pinnacle Entertainment Group.
GM: Okay, Spirit check from everyone.
Zach Dallas: Spirit [1d8 = 7]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Spirit [1d8 = 5]
Stinky Pete: Spirit [1d6 = 9]
GM: Hmm...interesting.
TADM: Scribble...scribble.
Nick (Stinky Pete): Run away!!! Wait...swim away!!!
GM: Vigor checks from everyone.
Stinky Pete: Vigor [1d6 = 7]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Vigor [1d6 = 5]
Zach Dallas: Vigor [1d6 = 7]
GM: Hmm...also interesting.
TADM: Scribble....scribble.
Uriel Iscariot: Spirit [1d12 = 11]
Uriel Iscariot: Vigor [1d6 = 17]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): holy shit
TADM: OKAY. The late bloomer is safe!
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): XD
There is a bright white light....well, somewhat tinged with red, fiery oranges, and flying wood.
[w] Zach Dallas -> Ezekial Ikwiano: check out June 27th and Find "Cattlefolk". It's right around there.
Shortly after that, you remember being in the water, which tastes rather briny, salty, and bloody.
GM: Remember is key...because it is a bit fuzzy after that.
Zach Dallas: we have debris already as floatation devices?
Ezekial Ikwiano takes out a cigar, wrings it dry and lights it.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I think we're still floating
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): and I don't think you can wring out cigars
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): Maybe you and I can't, but Zeke can
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): and his horse, I'm sure
GM: Swimming checks. D4-2 if you don't have the skill.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): the horse lights them magically
Zach Dallas: Stealth {--2 Untrained:Mike} [1d4-2 = 5]
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): water wouldn't matter
Ezekial Ikwiano: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} [1d4-2 = 4]
Stinky Pete: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} [1d4-2 = 3]
Uriel Iscariot: Unskilled Modifier -2, Battle Damage! -1 [1d4-3 = -1]
Nick (Stinky Pete): aww
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): NOOOO!!!
Stinky Pete is using a benny
GM: Okay, Uriel, Pete, and Zeke are sinking and drinking water...
Stinky Pete: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} -2 (Wound Penalty -2) [1d4-4 = 3]
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): Wait if im aware enough to swim, cant I just cast Envriomental Protection, and chill?
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 3]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): things to grab onto?
GM: There is plenty of debris....a few corpses...things like that.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): can you swim with environmental protection? Or do you fall as if you were in air?
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): Fall, but then ill be at the bottom, UNDA DA SEA!...
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I'll take another round to pick out some non-living debris
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): er, never been alive debris
TADM: That's an important distinction.
The wreck of the Abysmal sinks beneath the waves...creating a nice suction as it displaces the water and pulls things under with it.
GM: Swimming check #2.
Zach Dallas: Stealth {--2 Untrained:Mike} [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6-2 = 3]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} -2 [1d6-3 = 0]
Stinky Pete: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} -2 (Wound Penalty -2) [1d6-4 = 0]
Uriel Iscariot: Battle Damage! -1, Unskilled Modifier -2 [1d4-3 = 1]
Uriel Iscariot: [1d4 = 2]
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): NOOO!
Uriel Iscariot: [1d6 = 3]
TADM: Then the folks from Mythbusters arrive and ruin all the joy and happiness in the world...
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): I look for a large sea creature like a dolphin or a manatee
Ezekial Ikwiano: Notice [1d6 = 5]
Nick (Stinky Pete): That would explain why the explosion was so big
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): or a Celestial Octopus
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 4]
GM: The Mythbusters people instead point out that the suction in this case is not caused by the sinking Abysmal, as sinking ships do not create suction. The folks from Mythbusters instead point out that it is probably caused by the very angry and voracious water-based Nature Spirit that is clearly trying to eliminate all traces of the battle.
Nick (Stinky Pete): Wow...that sucks. Literally
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): crap, we're traces of the battle...
[w] Zach Dallas: Does Blast have the same range underwater?
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 3]
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): I knew fighting the sea was a good idea
Nick (Stinky Pete): Someone! Call for sushi takeout, and make sure they send the chef for delivery!!
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Yours does not, as it requres a thrown card, and throwing underwater is not very effective...
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): curses
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Occult {+2 Honey Vial} [1d6+2 = 6]
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): How Does I stop Nature Spirits?
TADM: Usually by appeasing them.
Zach Dallas: Smarts [1d12 = 3]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): pfff
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): Quick, throw them Neville Chamberlaine!
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): As a Christian Priest, I am completely against harmony with nature. This calls for drastic Measures...
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): don't look at me, I'm against harmony with nature as well
Ezekial Ikwiano has been awarded a benny
TADM: Zeke gets a benny for the obscure English Prime Minister reference.
Uriel Iscariot: This be not thy domain, foul-unclean spirit of waters! Thy shallt not interfere with the realm of man, his will be good or ill! Let the remains of this battle serve as a reminder to those who would make war.
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Novice Power -2, Battle Damage! -1) [1d12-1 = 10]
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): (windstorm to mess with the little dude)
Ezekial Ikwiano: Spirit [1d6 = 5]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Praise Jesus!
Uriel pulls a piece of driftwood out of his pocket and brandishes it. A funnel cloud descends from the sky and drops into the water, sucking up everyone at or near the surface. The water spout then flings everyone onto a nearby island...although somehow you land without harm.
TADM: It's a MIRACLE!
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): Yay!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Hoorah!
Ezekial Ikwiano takes out a cigar and lights it, then reloads his guns.
[w] Zach Dallas -> Uriel Iscariot: That's a neat toy you got thar
TADM: Don't forget to change the batteries in your driftwood...
Nick (Stinky Pete): That's what I call a hurri-can!
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Bible [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 2]
Nick (Stinky Pete): Or maybe a mon-'sooner than you think'
Ezekial Ikwiano: looking around
Ezekial Ikwiano: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 8]
Stinky Pete: Notice {+2 Alertness(S)} +2 (Wound Penalty -2) [1d8 = 7]
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 3]
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 5]
Zeke notices there are a dozen or so corpses, some debris, wooden planks, and a number of other pieces of debris on the island itself. The island is pretty small, about the size of a football field. There is a slight hill on the middle with a few scraggy looking trees, it looks like everything other than the hill is submerged during high tide.
Ezekial Ikwiano heads up the hill.
Uriel Iscariot: I now proclaim the heroic deeds of Indra; what he did first, the vajra-wielder, he slew the dragon, bored through to the waters; he split through the bellies of the mountains.
Uriel Iscariot: Er....I dunno what came over me just then.
Uriel Iscariot: I coulda swore i was thinking of a different passage...
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): any other survivors? notibly the captain and Xiu Li
GM: There is no sign of Xiu Li or Captain Katsumoto.
[w] Zach Dallas: I'd also like to do a quick check on my clothing and gear. Have I lost anything?
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): They have names, they wouldn't die like little bitches to some sea spirit
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): I think we should be worried about more important things
GM: Zeke gets to the top of the hill, it is a nice, shady spot, ideal for lounging in the sun and enjoying a cigar.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): Like ourselves
Ezekial Ikwiano lounges in the sun and enjoys a cigar.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): don't stress out too much
[w] -> Stinky Pete: You spot a decrepit and water logged book wash up on the shore.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): I'm laying on top of a hill smoking a cigar, how much less stressed out can a guy get?
[w] Stinky Pete: I grab it, and carefully attempt to read it, starting from the back in case the pages tear before I get to writing
Uriel Iscariot: Um...So...like shouldnt we go about looking for others or making a smoke signal? I doubt we want to spend much time out here.
Ezekial Ikwiano: I am a smoke signal.
Ezekial Ikwiano blows a smoke ring.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): lol
[w] -> Stinky Pete: You pick it up, it reads, "Hoyle's Book of Games," and despite its appearance, seems to be in no immediate danger of destruction....in fact...the pages are dry, just the covers are dripping water.
Zach Dallas: I'm not sure we want to be picked up here
Uriel Iscariot: Heh.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): how long until the sea critter is done hiding the evidence of the battle?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Two pair, Qs and 4s.
[w] Stinky Pete: Interesting *scribble scribble*
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): You mean aside from all the debris, corpses and us on this island?
Zach Dallas: Spellcasting [1d12 = 10]
[w] Zach Dallas: -1, so a raise!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): pulls out several floppy, wet cards from his sleaves
[w] -> Zach Dallas: it was blown free of your backpack and went into the water.
Zach Dallas: Fuuuuuuuu
Zach Dallas: *hurk*
[w] -> Zach Dallas: or wherever you were storing it...
Zach Dallas dashes over to the water edge
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 15]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): WHERE IS IT
Uriel Iscariot: Zach whats wrong? Another Demonic Infestation?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Pete is reading your book.
Uriel Iscariot: Tell us!
Zach Dallas: Excuse me, good sir
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): strolls up to Pete
Zach Dallas: I do believe that is mine
Stinky Pete: Um, no it's not. I have it now, so that clearly makes it mine
Zach Dallas: Is that so?
TADM: Stuck on a deserted island for five minutes...
Stinky Pete: If you go to a store and steal a deck of cards, is that a 52 card stick-up?
Zach Dallas takes the book with his left hand and Pete's offending arm with his right hand
Zach Dallas smiles
Stinky Pete: If you had let me finish typing the joke, I would have given it to you
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): You horrid puns can wait. There's some folks I don't want near that
Zach Dallas: I will thank you, though, for getting it out of the water there
Stinky Pete gives the book to Zach, since he apparently has no sense of humor
Stinky Pete: Vigor [1d6 = 4]
Stinky Pete is using a benny
Stinky Pete: Vigor (Wound Penalty -2) [1d8-2 = 4]
[w] -> Stinky Pete: You can actually choose to give him the book or not, you are immune to his shenigans this time.
[w] Zach Dallas -> Stinky Pete: I owe you a favor, not to be redeemed with objects of paper within my posession
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: I'm gonna look for any animals on this island while they're playing hide the card
[w] Zach Dallas: is the book actually made of paper?
Ezekial Ikwiano: Notice [1d6 = 4]
[w] -> Ezekial Ikwiano: You find no animals
Stinky Pete: Whatever. What you really need is a joke book
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Sure looks like it.
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 3]
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): (the book they are fighting over)
[w] Zach Dallas -> Stinky Pete: seriously, though, go ahead and put the IOU into your notes or whatever. Cash value $.001
GM: With a 3, -1 for Wound penality...Uriel is convinced it is...A BOOK!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Woo for books!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): The Bible is a book!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): therefore this must be the bible!
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): No! it is a collection of books!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): well, it comes in the form of one book now
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): physically
[w] Stinky Pete -> Zach Dallas: Nope. I wrote it just as you typed it
Uriel Iscariot: Zach, What are you so pent up about there?
Nick (Stinky Pete): afk brb
Ezekial Ikwiano begins to gather all the corpses and debris into a pile. While singing.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): what song?
GM: It looks like the tide will roll in about 3 hours from now.
Uriel Iscariot: Here Ezekial Ikwiano, Let me aid thee.
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): It's a long john
Uriel Iscariot: (tends to some prayers for the dead)
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): He's a long gone
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): Like a turket through the corn
Zach Dallas fully dons his gloves
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): also, is my stetson present?
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): through the long corn.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I imagine I lost that
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): turket?
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): Well, my John said, in the ten chap ten
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): "If a man die, he will live again."
Zach Dallas: Common Knowledge [1d12 = 9]
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): Well they crucified jesus
Uriel Iscariot: There ya go Ezekial! You were once lost, but now have been found!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): You're not trying to raise them all from the dead, are you?
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): And they nailed him to the cross
Uriel Iscariot Inspiration on Ezekial Ikwiano
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): Sister Mary cried. "My child is lost!"
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Battle Damage! -1, Second Tier Power -3) [1d12-2 = 8]
Zach Dallas assists Zeke in getting everything in order
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): Well, Long John, He's a long gone
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): Mister John, John, Old Big-eye john
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): Oh John, John
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): It's a long John
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): Says-uh "Come on gal, and-uh shut that do'"
Uriel Iscariot: uh?
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): Says "The dogs is comin' and I've got ta go."
Uriel Iscariot: What?
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): Well, Long John, He's a long gone
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): Mister John, John, Old Big-eye john
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): Oh John, John
Ezekial Ikwiano (singing): It's a long John
GM: Okay, so the plan is to pile up the corpses and burn them?
GM: They are a bit waterlogged.
Uriel Iscariot: Now wait there, we can't burn corpses!
Uriel Iscariot: That is forbidden!
Ezekial Ikwiano: You got a shovel preacha man?
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm going to get a Conceal Arcana off on Hoyle's Book right about now. Deal for it
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Three of a Kind 7s
Zach Dallas: Spellcasting [1d12 = 8]
Stinky Pete: If we don't, eventually they'll rot and cause us livin folk to get sick
[w] Zach Dallas: wooo raise!
Uriel Iscariot: Well no, but the lord hath given thee fine hands!
Uriel Iscariot: Persuasion [1d8 = 4]
Stinky Pete: Plus, we can use the pyre as a signal
Ezekial Ikwiano: I wasn't gonna burn em anyways.
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): (3). =\
Ezekial Ikwiano: I got dis here rope
Ezekial Ikwiano: I was gonna make a raft
Uriel Iscariot: ...
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Uriel Iscariot: Both of you are horrible.
Nick (Stinky Pete): Talk about a 'doomed vessel'
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): that made my day
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): Would that be 'waterboarding' them?
Stinky Pete has been awarded a benny
Ezekial Ikwiano has been awarded a benny
Nick (Stinky Pete): YES!!
TADM: That was so disturbing and funny...I am tossing another benny to Zeke and one to Stinky.
Zach Dallas: OK, so we're, uh, going to turn these into a boat? Or can we burn them?
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 5]
[w] Stinky Pete -> Uriel Iscariot: Iscariot Be honest, if I hadn't said it, you would have
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): How far is it to shore?
Ezekial Ikwiano: Burnin' em won't get us back to Shan Fan
[w] Uriel Iscariot -> Stinky Pete: Yah. I thought mine was cool to though.
Zach Dallas: I suppose
[w] Zach Dallas: Deal for Detect Arcana
[w] Stinky Pete -> Uriel Iscariot: Yes, but I think then it'd be more akin to 'bodysurfing'
GM: The next nearest island is about a three hundrad yard swim. It is it about a nine hour swim to Shan Fan.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): raft it is then!
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Flush in spades.
Ezekial Ikwiano begins lashing the body and wooden debris together into a raft.
[w] Zach Dallas: looking for tainty things in the current corpses and in the current
Nick (Stinky Pete): Could we swim from island to island toward shan fan?
Stinky Pete: Smarts [1d8 = 4]
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: do I need to make any rolls for building my raft?
GM: You could, possibly, swim to Shan Fan by "island hopping."
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): and it worked so well for the marines in the pacific campaign
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 5]
[w] Zach Dallas: anything horribly unpleasant in the waters?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: There is no Shadowlands taint in the area. There are a lot of manitous around, specifically around the "raft." The water is pretty clear.
[w] Zach Dallas: or the corpses, for that matter
[w] Zach Dallas: can I clear them out at all? With Manitou Manipulation?
Uriel Iscariot: Notice (Battle Damage! -1) [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6-1 = 1]
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): (Was going to look for whales)
[w] -> Ezekial Ikwiano: Make a pair of unskilled checks for raft construction.
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): (but....oh lawd.)
Ezekial Ikwiano: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6-2 = 8]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} [Critical failure!] [1d4-2 = -1]
Ezekial Ikwiano is using a benny
GM: Uriel sees the GREAT WHITE WHALE!
Ezekial Ikwiano: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} [1d4-2 = 1]
Zach Dallas glances around water
Ezekial Ikwiano is using a benny
Ezekial Ikwiano: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} [1d4-2 = 0]
Zach Dallas does a double take toward the pile of bodies
Zach Dallas: Ehhh
Uriel Iscariot: Oh no! the White Whale! Too many ways to interpret this! I am confused for the remained of the day!
GM: Well, in about four hours...Zeke builds a working raft.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: You are welcome to try...
[w] Zach Dallas: what should I roll?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Spirit
Stinky Pete: I'll take my chance swimming, as opposed to your choice of 'bodysurfing'
Zach Dallas: Spirit [1d8 = 4]
Zach Dallas is using a benny
Zach Dallas: Spirit [1d6 = 5]
[w] Zach Dallas: will a Standard Success succeed?
Ezekial Ikwiano: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 5]
[w] -> Zach Dallas: The manitous leave after a while, evidently deciding that none of the corpses are suitable choices for zombification or harrowing.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): looking to see where the sun is setting / set
Zach Dallas: Damn vultures
GM: Zeke has a pretty good idea which way is West based on the position of the sun.
[w] Zach Dallas: I was fiddling around with getting rid of the Manitou and working my way up for leveling that skill up
Zach Dallas: I was being kind-of-useful-but-not-too-useful to Zeke
Uriel Iscariot: I will look for whales.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): Is my raft big enough for all four of us?
Uriel Iscariot: Notice (Battle Damage! -1) [1d6-1 = 6]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Smarts [1d6 = 5]
Zach Dallas: Smarts [1d12 = 3]
GM: Sure, the raft will fit four of you. The tide is coming in.
Nick (Stinky Pete): Inspiration for a good plan
Stinky Pete: Smarts [1d8 = 4]
Nick (Stinky Pete): Nope
GM: Uriel spots whales...they are adorable.
Uriel Iscariot: Here whaley! I got a present for you!
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Novice Power -2) [1d12 = 11]
Uriel Iscariot YOU ARE MINE NOW!
Uriel Iscariot: (attempt to Animal Pal it)
GM: Uriel mentally dominates a Whale...
TADM: Wait...did I just hear someone say, "fuck the corpses?"
Uriel Iscariot: Here, I read this in a book once. Its perfectly safe to stay in a whale's stomach for up to 3 days if you keep praying. Now 3 of us can ride on his back, I nominate Stinky for the Stomach Seat, as he is already stinky.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): lol
Ezekial Ikwiano: I say we tie the raft to the whale
Zach Dallas: Smarts [1d12 = 10]
Stinky Pete: I nominate you, as no one else would waste time praying, let alone for 3 days
Ezekial Ikwiano: Smarts [1d6 = 5]
Uriel Iscariot: Quit being such a blowhard; accept that it's no fluke you were stinky to begin with.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): what kind of whale
Stinky Pete: I don't plan on abandoning ship and walking the plank-ton anytime soon
TADM: Grey Whale.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): mine was more for a "find a good way to use as few actual corpses as possible in the Whale-mobile"
Nick (Stinky Pete): Keeps looking for help. Hopes to find Aquaman, but feels it's more likely to be Spongebob
Uriel Iscariot: Common guys, its going to be a fun ride!
Uriel Iscariot: Environmental Protection on self
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Battle Damage! -1, Novice Power -2) [1d6-1 = 2]
Uriel Iscariot is using a benny
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Battle Damage! -1, Novice Power -2) [1d12-1 = 9]
Uriel Iscariot: Riding {--2 Honey Vial} [1d6-2 = 1]
Uriel Iscariot is using a benny
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): did you really need to benny?
Uriel Iscariot: Riding {--2 Honey Vial} [1d6-2 = 0]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): can't you just re-roll?
Qui-Gon Jinn casts Summon Bigger Fish.
GM: The Whale swims up to Uriel...and gets beached.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): ROFL ROFL ROFL
Zach Dallas: You, sir, are an idiot
Stinky Pete: Well, at least we won't go hungry now
GM: Please reference..."The tide was coming in" from earlier statements, compare with size of Grey Whale and relative position of party.
Stinky Pete starts a fire from driftwood, and starts heating up my skillet
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): so is high tide already in?
Stinky Pete: Wow. Isn't that a beech.
Uriel Iscariot: I refuse to sea this magnificent beast harmed.
Uriel Iscariot Enviromental Protection on the WHALE to prevent dessication.
Nick (Stinky Pete): ok. *gouges out his eyes* Problem solved
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Battle Damage! -1, Novice Power -2) [1d6-1 = 7]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Then maybe you shouldn'a made it flop up onto a beach
GM: The whale is safe from death until the tide rolls in and HOPEFULLY frees it from being stuck on the beach.
Zach Dallas: Well, I'm not sure how useful Riding will be, but it's better than nothing
[w] Zach Dallas: I'm being QUITE careful not to let DMH touch the whale
Uriel Iscariot: Who has rope?
Uriel Iscariot: It should make pretty good time back to shan fan
[w] Zach Dallas: although hilarious, it would likely lead to TPK
Stinky Pete: If you're going to take the parable about the fish and loaves so literally, I suggest you pray for a train of bakers next
[w] Zach Dallas: I have both of my gloves on now
Ezekial Ikwiano ties the raft to the beached whale.
Uriel Iscariot: Smarts [1d6 = 5]
Uriel Iscariot: WHALES ARENT FISH STINKY!
TADM: Why do all the shows on the Food Channel use Kosher salt in their Pork recipes?
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): (lol)
Nick (Stinky Pete): The pieces are bigger, so more surface area means it sticks to the meat better
Uriel Iscariot: Anyway, here, who wants to orca-strate this thing and get some ropes on the whale?
Nick (Stinky Pete): When you are preserving meat by salt, it is called 'koshering', and has nothing to do with being Kosher
Uriel Iscariot: Waits for the tide to free the whale.
Ezekial Ikwiano hops on the raft.
Stinky Pete: What a whale of a tale this will be
Uriel Iscariot: All aboard! it won't krill you!
Zach Dallas: Ew
Zach Dallas gets aboard
GM: About thirty minutes later, the tide frees the whale.
Stinky Pete gets aboard
GM: Agility checks for anyone getting on the whale, those trying to ride the whale...
Zach Dallas: OK, I would like to point out that a lot of these corpses that we are using as a raft is giong to get us in a lot of trouble when we get back
Uriel Iscariot: Agility (Battle Damage! -1) [1d4-1 = 2]
Zach Dallas: we should ditch it and sink it before we return
Zach Dallas: Riding [1d4 = 3]
Zach Dallas is using a benny
Stinky Pete: Agility (Wound Penalty -2) [1d6-2 = 7]
Zach Dallas: Riding [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 4]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I wish I had my Maker Hooks...
Ezekial Ikwiano: Agility [1d12 = 11]
[w] Stinky Pete: What do I still have on my person?
Zach Dallas: Agility [1d10 = 9]
[w] -> Stinky Pete: Whatever is on your character sheet
GM: All right...well, you get about two hundred feet into the water, the whale submerges and takes the raft with it.
Uriel Iscariot: Oh no!
GM: Swimming checks for everyone...
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Battle Damage! -1, Novice Power -2) [1d12-1 = 8]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} [1d4-2 = 0]
Uriel Iscariot: Zach Dallas can now breathe underwater.
Uriel Iscariot: Agility (Battle Damage! -1, Unskilled Modifier -2) [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6-3 = 6]
GM: The whale swims off.
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: can I make an agility/attack roll to cut the rope
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: before it takes the raft off with it
GM: It seems that Uriel neglected to account for the fact that he can only control an animal for 10 minutes...
Stinky Pete: Well, isn't this a fine kettle of fish!!
Zach Dallas: Stealth {--2 Untrained:Mike} [1d6-2 = 3]
[w] -> Ezekial Ikwiano: Agility check
Ezekial Ikwiano: Agility [1d12 = 10]
Stinky Pete: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} -2 (Wound Penalty -2) [1d6-4 = 0]
Nick (Stinky Pete): still can't swim
Zach Dallas: I HATE YOU PRIEST
GM: Zeke masterfully cuts the raft free as the whale swims off, causing the raft to float back to the surface.
Ezekial Ikwiano: Strength [1d6 = 13]
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: to hold onto the raft as it rises
GM: Zeke and the raft are floating on the surface of the water about two hundred yards from the shore of the island.
Ezekial Ikwiano starts paddling towards the nearest island.
Ezekial Ikwiano: Notice [1d6 = 4]
Zach Dallas is conveniently located near Zeke
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): >.>
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): looking for my allies
GM: Since the tide is going in, which helped free the whale...the job of paddling to a more inland island is easy.
GM: Stinky, Zach, and Uriel manage to catch onto the raft and everyone makes it to the nearest island.
Uriel Iscariot: Notice [1d6 = 16]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Ok, everyone down to your skivvies
Ezekial Ikwiano takes his clothes off.
Zach Dallas: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 3]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): any survivors?
Stinky Pete: Notice {+2 Alertness(S)} [1d8+2 = 9]
GM: This island looks similar to the last one, but is slightly smaller, higher, and has more trees.
GM: There is some loose debris and a couple smelly and bloated corpses.
Ezekial Ikwiano: Notice [1d6 = 3]
GM: The corpses are not of anyone you recognize.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): checking the debris/trees for a long strait stick
GM: Zeke locates a long, straight, stick.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I avoided asking earlier, but do we recognize the corpses we're on now?
Ezekial Ikwiano begins to strip the clothes off the corpses on the new island
Zach Dallas: Common Knowledge [1d12 = 8]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): cause of death on the corpses?
Uriel Iscariot: What the hell are you doing Ezekial Ikwiano?
Ezekial Ikwiano: Makin' a sail
Ezekial Ikwiano: Watsit look like?
Zach Dallas: Do you know HOW to sail?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Do you actually have Boating?
Ezekial Ikwiano: Can't be that hard
Zach Dallas: Swimming is far easier
Zach Dallas: plus, we have no way of securing a mast
GM: The corpses comprising the raft are those of sailors from both sides of the previous battle. The cause of death on the corpses on this island would be drowning/trauma/wood shrapnel.
Zach Dallas: Common Knowledge [1d12 = 8]
[w] Zach Dallas: how long do corpses float in water?
Ezekial Ikwiano makes a raft out his clothes and those of the deceased sailors.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): er, sail that is
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Honestly, they can survive a really long time if the skin is not punctured...sometimes for years.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: It helps if you stitch all the openings shut.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: And you probably don't want to know why I know that.
[w] Zach Dallas: also, how feasible is it to remove all signs of the battle? Can we see corpses on nearby islands
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d4 = 7]
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: let me know if I need to make any rolls for the sail-making
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Given your current conditions, a really long time and lots of effots
[w] -> Ezekial Ikwiano: Two unskilled checks
Ezekial Ikwiano: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} [1d4-2 = 1]
Zach Dallas shrugs
Ezekial Ikwiano: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} [1d4-2 = 5]
Zach Dallas: Persuasion [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 4]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Well, that was to talk you out of making a sail
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): so consider yourself more devoted instead
GM: Zeke constructs a sail, affixes it to a mast, and secures everything. It takes about an hour. Which means that it is now six hours since the battle with the Abysmal.
Zach Dallas: OK, new plan, let's just island hop out of here
Zach Dallas: ASAP
GM: This makes it DARK, as the sun sets behind the line of ghost rock plateaus to the west.
Zach Dallas: We're spending too much time and stragglers are eventually going to get to us
Zach Dallas: Uriel, light please
Nick (Stinky Pete): looks for any nearby ships, since I'm sure lookie-loos would investigate the explosion
Stinky Pete: Notice {+2 Alertness(S)} [1d8+2 = 4]
Uriel Iscariot: I guess.
Zach Dallas: actually, nevermind
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Battle Damage! -1, Novice Power -2) [1d6-1 = 4]
Zach Dallas: we should just wait until morning
Zach Dallas: won't draw quite as much attention
GM: A large number of vessels are coming from the west.
Uriel Iscariot: No my son, let his light be our guide
Uriel Iscariot: Look, friendlies!
Zach Dallas: Persuasion [1d10 = 6]
Zach Dallas: put the light out
Zach Dallas: west means Mexican Armada
Uriel Iscariot: The Light of the LORD can never be extinguished.
Ezekial Ikwiano straps his holsters back onto his naked body as battle may be upon him and there is no time to recover his clothes from the sails.
Zach Dallas: It's not being extinguished, it's just being postponed to shine with full riteous fury at the rite time
GM: There is a smell of ozone in the air.
Uriel Iscariot: Spirit [1d12 = 9]
[w] Zach Dallas: Deal for Detect Arcana
Zach Dallas: Common Knowledge [1d6 = 8]
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Occult {+2 Honey Vial} +2 (Battle Damage! -1) [1d6+1 = 6]
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Two pair, 3s and 8s
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): common causes of Ozone smell?
Zach Dallas: Spellcasting [1d6 = 8]
GM: Usually from something burning...
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 7]
[w] Zach Dallas: also, anything magical around?
Ezekial Ikwiano draws Bo and Luke, careful to hold them above water as he submerges himself in the water behind the raft and begins pushing it towards the approaching boats in the darkness.
Zach Dallas follows after
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): pushing / swiming
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Yes, there is a brightly glowing Xiu Li shaped object standing between the trees.
Uriel Iscariot: Well damn, if we want propulsion....
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): waiiit
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Novice Power -2, Battle Damage! -1) [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6-1 = 2]
Zach Dallas: wait wait
Uriel Iscariot is using a benny
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): which trees?
Ezekial Ikwiano waits.
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Battle Damage! -1, Novice Power -2) [1d12-1 = 9]
Uriel Iscariot: WindStorm for Propulsion!
GM: The ones on the island where Zeke found his stick.
Stinky Pete also waits
Zach Dallas: Oi, Xiu Li!
Zach Dallas heads back up to the island by where Zeke got his sticks
Xiu Li: Hello Mr. Dallas.
Zach Dallas: Glad to see you're alive
Ezekial Ikwiano is still waiting.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): how many boats were there again?
Xiu Li: Same here, did everyone live?
Zach Dallas: Well, the four of us did
Ezekial Ikwiano: Not the crew of this here raft
Ezekial Ikwiano: they all dead
GM: At this point, you would say there are twenty or so.
Zach Dallas: We've found a ton of corpses and a giant Nature Octopus, but nobody alive
Xiu Li frowns at Zeke. Not that he can tell because it is dark.
Zach Dallas: Haven't seen the Captain yet either
Uriel Iscariot: Don't get suckered in by Zach's tale, we saw no such thing.
Zach Dallas: Anyways, what fleet is that? Can you tell?
Xiu Li: Oh, don't worry. Captain Katsumoto is back in Shan Fan. He is drunk and unhappy at the loss of the Empress Risako, but doing very well otherwise.
Zach Dallas: Good to hear
Zach Dallas: Mexican Armada?
Xiu Li: I have no idea what those ships are....but the Captain did mention something about the Mexican Armada....perhaps it is them.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): He probably has better than a d4-2 in swimming
Zach Dallas: We should avoid them and return home FOR OUR PAYMENT
Zach Dallas: Persuasion [1d10 = 6]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Spirit [1d8 = 5]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Good plan
Stinky Pete: How'd he get back so soon?
Xiu Li laughs, with an annoying 18-year-old girl "matter of fact, don't you know?" kind of laugh.
Zach Dallas: and that laugh is less than pleasent...
Zach Dallas: Anyways, do you have a boat or something?
Ezekial Ikwiano moves his raft around to the east side of the island.
Xiu Li: No, I just used my father's emergency escape device and grabbed Captain Katsumoto since he was closest to me. I took both of us back to Shan Fan, then I came back here looking for you.
Xiu Li: It is the Carr Emergency Plan.
Xiu Li pats something at her waist.
Zach Dallas: Oooh, teleportation?
[w] Zach Dallas: does it set off the Magic Vision?
Uriel Iscariot: Kn Occult {+2 Honey Vial} [1d6+2 = 7]
Zach Dallas: Common Knowledge [1d12 = 8]
[w] -> Zach Dallas: All of Xiu Li does....so you have no way to tell for sure which bit of her it is.
[w] Zach Dallas: can I tell the difference between Wierd Science and Ki with a Notice check or Spellcasting or something?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: No, you have no way to tell the difference.
GM: Uriel thinks Xiu Li must be up to some bit of hookum.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): urel thinks Xiu Li must be up to some bit of hookum.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): curses
Uriel Iscariot: So.....what is that thing there, Miss Li?
Zach Dallas: foiled by my "i" key
Xiu Li: Something my father built. Anyway, if you would like I can take you all back to Shan Fan now.
Zach Dallas: Excellent. Thank you
Zach Dallas: Zeke, get your clothes
Ezekial Ikwiano: It makes me sad to tear down the ZFS Corpsified
Ezekial Ikwiano: She was a good ship
Ezekial Ikwiano: But I spose a transporter works too
Uriel Iscariot: She Embodied everything that was good about you?
Zach Dallas: take your rope back as well
Zach Dallas: undo the raft
Uriel Iscariot: Had a lot of personality?
Ezekial Ikwiano retrieves his clothes and rope.
Uriel Iscariot has no objections to the transporter
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): Really? I objected to its totaly lack of plot structure.
Nick (Stinky Pete): Well, we're too far out to use a train, so it'd be too hard to officially railroaded
Xiu Li: Okay, so the bad news is that this thing is a bit finicky. And you all have to hold on to me.
Ezekial Ikwiano: Bad news?
Xiu Li: Which I know will be less of a problem for some of you than others.
Stinky Pete: That parts not bad
Uriel Iscariot: Guts {+4 Heroic} [1d6+4 = 9]
Ezekial Ikwiano grabs Xiu Li.
Stinky Pete: Guts {+2 True Grit(S),+4 Heroic} [1d6+6 = 11]
Uriel Iscariot: Its Okay. Its not...that sort of toutching...
TADM: I think it is for Zeke
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): Zeke is still naked
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): I only retrieved my clothes
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): I didn't put them back on
TADM: Then I would say it definitely is for Zeke.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): lol
[w] Zach Dallas: using my left hand
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Hopefully with the glove still on.
[w] Zach Dallas: also, making sure I have Hoyle's book
[w] Zach Dallas: oh, yeah
[w] Zach Dallas: well, right hand is the DMH
Xiu Li activates the Carr Emergency Plan.
The party appears in Captain Smythe's room.
Captain Smythe: I SAY!
Xiu Li passes out.
Uriel Iscariot: YOU SAY!
Xiu Li starts to drop to the ground in a heap.
Zach Dallas catches her
Ezekial Ikwiano catches Xiu Li.
Ezekial Ikwiano: Agility [1d6 = 10]
Zach Dallas: Agility [1d10 = 9]
Zach Dallas: Good afternoon, sir
GM: Okay, so since four people were holding her and Zeke and Zach both held on, Xiu Li does not drop to the ground.
Ezekial Ikwiano: Hi Rod
Ezekial Ikwiano: Maybe that's a, poor choice of words
Nick (Stinky Pete): I didn't want to know you called it that
Captain Smythe: Well chaps, how did you arrange this miracle of...modern science? And why is Zeke completely naked except for his gun belt?
Uriel Iscariot: Its a whale of a tale.
Zach Dallas: He was trying to make a sail
Ezekial Ikwiano: Sails don't work if you're wearin' em
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): couch in the room?
Captain Smythe: Oh...do tell. I shall order up dinner for you all.
Ezekial Ikwiano hoists Xiu Li up onto his shoulder.
GM: There is a couch in the room.
Ezekial Ikwiano: Strength [1d10 = 7]
Uriel Iscariot: Notice (Battle Damage! -1) [1d6-1 = 2]
Zach Dallas: Zeke, over here
Zach Dallas: This should be good enough
Ezekial Ikwiano: I'm just across the hall
Uriel Iscariot (on Xiu to see if shes OK)
GM: All 90lbs of Xiu Li is on Zeke's shoulder.
Zach Dallas: Also, pants would be nice
Zach Dallas: you are not invisible
Captain Smythe orders dinner for everyone.
Captain Smythe asks one of his guards to fetch some clothes for Zeke.
Ezekial Ikwiano leaves Xiu Li in his bed and returns to captain Smythe's room for dinner.
Ezekial Ikwiano puts his clothes back on.
Ezekial Ikwiano: So Zach, after dinner whadya say we get our reward money?
Captain Smythe: Well gents, do tell. Katsumoto has been passed out drunk for about four hours now...so I assume there was middling success with your plans?
Zach Dallas: Eh
Zach Dallas: technically
Ezekial Ikwiano: We definately blew up the ship we was tryin to blow up
Ezekial Ikwiano: Well, I blew it up
Captain Smythe: I suspect the Empress Risako was also detonated?
Ezekial Ikwiano: I'm sure everyone else was doing useful stuff too
Ezekial Ikwiano: Go big or go home I always say
Ezekial Ikwiano: I blew everything up
Ezekial Ikwiano: Just to be safe
Captain Smythe: Well done chap, I like a man of action, reminds me of how I would do things.
Captain Smythe looks approvingly at Zeke.
Zach Dallas: Red Petal Su technically caused the explosion for the Empress Risako
Zach Dallas: had a rather nasty Blast spell prepared
Zach Dallas: We were also unable to determine whether she was alive or not
Ezekial Ikwiano: She exploded
Ezekial Ikwiano: I'd say she's dead
Captain Smythe: Ah, Kang's right hand woman...I am sure he will be most displeased with this turn of events, losing her and the Abysmal.
Zach Dallas: You have to be careful regarding things that make craters bigger than you can spit across
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): BRB
Stinky Pete: As I mentioned, I think her life was directly tied to the ship. It dies, and she dies
Zach Dallas: Anyways, the first thing that happened was that she went all "NO PRISONERS" on Pete here
Zach Dallas: and the plan kind of went out of hand from there
Ezekial Ikwiano: We never even used the dynamite
Ezekial Ikwiano: An I spend all day in a box for nothin
Stinky Pete: We never felt safer
TADM: Technically...everything went south when Pete tossed the rotten bacon overboard...
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): ROTTEN BACON?!?!?!?!
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): THE SEA MONSTER ATTACKED OVER BACON?!?!?!?!
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): over ROTTEN BACON TAINTED WITH EVIIIIIL
Nick (Stinky Pete): details, details
GM: The group explains their advantures to Captain Smythe, who listens intently.
Captain Smythe: Well, I recommend you all get a good night sleep. News of the Abysmal sinking will be widespread by morning, and I imagine Big Ears' Tam will be calling you in for your reward tomorrow.
Ezekial Ikwiano: Someone should write a book or some shit about us
Zach Dallas: Alright, Zeke, let's return Xiu Li to her own room
Stinky Pete goes to eat some dinner, then gets some sleep
Uriel Iscariot: I learned that nature will not take its proper place, and bow before and be subserviant to man.
Uriel Iscariot: therefore we should all hunt whales as they were made for us to eat.
Ezekial Ikwiano eats dinner while listening to Uriel rant.
Zach Dallas moves Xiu Li to her own room, either with Zeke's help or with Smythe's helpers
Xiu Li appears to be comatose.
[w] Zach Dallas: Detect Arcana, Deal
[w] Zach Dallas -> Uriel Iscariot: can you cast Greater Healing?
[w] Uriel Iscariot -> Zach Dallas: yes
Uriel Iscariot: Hrm...
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Wow...the best thing you have in this mess is a pair of 10s.
Uriel Iscariot: Notice (Battle Damage! -1) [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6-1 = 4]
Quorteth (Uriel Iscariot): Is it wounds or just fatigue for Xiu Li?
[w] Zach Dallas: that should be enough
Zach Dallas: Spellcasting [1d12 = 11]
[w] Zach Dallas: any magical phenomena?
GM: Uriel suspects fatigue, but without any sort of good medical knowledge, that is the best he can surmise.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: She is still all glowy..
[w] Zach Dallas: well, that's a good sign
Stinky Pete: Vigor [1d8 = 4]
[w] Zach Dallas: if I inspect the gizmo closely, is it glowing as well?
Ezekial Ikwiano: I know what'll wake her up
Ezekial Ikwiano: Cocaine-pepper-coffee
[w] Stinky Pete: Does that remove my wounds, or do I need to roll again/better?
Uriel Iscariot: No. That will not do.
[w] -> Stinky Pete: you will need to roll a 6+
Uriel Iscariot: Will you let the LORD try first, Ezekial Ikwiano?
Ezekial Ikwiano: Go ahead
Ezekial Ikwiano: It'll take me a while to find the cocaine
Stinky Pete is using a benny
Stinky Pete: Vigor [1d8 = 3]
[w] -> Zach Dallas: It is registering as barely magical....it looks like it is recharging slowly using her as a battery.
Stinky Pete is using a benny
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Battle Damage! -1, Second Tier Power -3) [1d6-2 = 9]
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: streetwise to locate the ingrediates for a cocain-pepper-coffee
Stinky Pete: Vigor [1d6 = 5]
Uriel Iscariot: Succor
Ezekial Ikwiano: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} [1d4-2 = 8]
[w] Zach Dallas: Ah. can I remove it?
GM: Ezekial finds a nearby Street Pharmacist!
Zach Dallas: Common Knowledge [1d12 = 9]
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: How much for some cocaine?
Zach Dallas: Notice [Critical failure!] [1d4 = 1]
[w] Stinky Pete: Damn. Oh well. I go to my room and clean my gun, ammo, etc since salt water is not good for anything metal
Zach Dallas seeks out Smythe
Zach Dallas: Can you work Wierd Science gizmos?
GM: Uriel casts Succor on Xiu Li, she appears to be sleeping more peacefully now.
Captain Smythe: Sorry chap, can't help you with them.
[w] -> Stinky Pete: Okay
Zach Dallas: Ah, you have All Thumbs, too?
Zach Dallas: Curses
Zach Dallas: brb
Zach Dallas seeks out Uriel
Zach Dallas: Hey, Uriel, do you want to try removing that there belt? It's draining Xiu Li as a battery
Uriel Iscariot: ....
Ezekial Ikwiano: I'm amazing at removing women's clothes
Uriel Iscariot: When did you find this out?
Zach Dallas: I'd try, but there are two buttons there. One will remove the belt, the other will remove the 6th floor of the Sunrise Hotel
Ezekial Ikwiano: When I was 12
[w] -> Ezekial Ikwiano: Pretty inexpensive, I'll let you make up a price. Although Opium would be WAY cheaper.
Zach Dallas: It's obvious
Uriel Iscariot eyerolls at Ezekial Ikwiano's comment
Zach Dallas: You would kill us
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: but that is a sedative
Uriel Iscariot: How am I supposed to tell which button is which?
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: I spent $15 on some cocaine for Xiu li
Zach Dallas: Easy, I pick a button and then it's the other button
Zach Dallas: Actually, I have no clue
Zach Dallas: I cannot participate
[w] -> Ezekial Ikwiano: Okay, assume that gets you about a pound or so. Since I know how much Opium that would buy you in Shan Fan.
Zach Dallas shrugs
Zach Dallas: it's my curse
Uriel Iscariot: O.K.
Ezekial Ikwiano mixes up a cocain-pepper-coffee remedy
Zach Dallas: woahwoahwoahwoah
Uriel Iscariot I will try to dowse with my Crucifix. See which button gives off NO NO vibes.
Zach Dallas: what is that vile concoction?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): wouldn't all the buttons give off NO NO vibes?
GM: Common Knowledge check for Uriel...
Ezekial Ikwiano: My momma called it Wake-Up Juice(tm)
Zach Dallas looks horrified
Zach Dallas: Where did...oh, right
Zach Dallas: Anyways, Xiu Li mostly needs time to rest.
Zach Dallas: she's just tired right now
Ezekial Ikwiano takes a sip of the Wake-Up Juice(tm) and gives the rest to Xiu Li
Uriel Iscariot: Smarts (Battle Damage! -1) [1d6-1 = 15]
Ezekial Ikwiano: She won't be tired in a minute
GM: Uriel is not sure that pointing his Crucifix at a GHOST ROCK powered device will be a good plan.
GM: In fact, his Smarts roll is suggesting against it...
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): BTW, in case you couldn't tell I had a really good week so I am doing silly fun stuff tonight
Zach Dallas: stops Zeke
Zach Dallas: woah, woah
Zach Dallas: no need to do that
Zach Dallas: Persuasion [1d6 = 4]
[w] Uriel Iscariot: GM will exorcism dissolve or at least dissenchant Ghost Rock?
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: Yes
Ezekial Ikwiano: I'm sure Pete knows all about Wake-Up Juice(tm)
Ezekial Ikwiano: it'll cure any hangover
Zach Dallas: Uh
Ezekial Ikwiano: good stuff
Zach Dallas: I don't think that applies anymore
Ezekial Ikwiano: Smarts [1d6 = 11]
Stinky Pete: Vigor [1d8 = 5]
Stinky Pete: Vigor [1d8 = 13]
Uriel Iscariot: Everyone STAND BACK
Uriel Iscariot: I require concentration to solve this!
[w] Stinky Pete: That'll do it :)
Ezekial Ikwiano continues feeding Xiu Li the Wake-Up Juice(tm)
[w] -> Stinky Pete: that does
Uriel Iscariot: If you wish you may raise your spirits in song while I perform a Ritual of Healing..... Ezekial Ikwiano stop that maddness
[w] Stinky Pete: Then I head back and let the manitou recharge as I sleep
[w] Zach Dallas: Change on the bottle. Making it look like water and taste like water
[w] Zach Dallas: deal for that
Nick (Stinky Pete): Which gets twisted over the years and becomes Jesus Juice
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): "The Blood of Christ" if you're a catholic
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): They add Spanish Fly though
Zach Dallas: And voiala! Water!
[w] Zach Dallas: er, change on the stuff inside
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Three of a kind, 4s
Zach Dallas: Spellcasting [1d12 = 8]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Veteran Power -6, Battle Damage! -1) [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6-5 = -1]
Uriel Iscariot is using a benny
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Battle Damage! -1, Veteran Power -6) [1d12-5 = 2]
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Battle Damage! -1, Veteran Power -6) [1d12-5 = 6]
[w] -> Uriel Iscariot: What power are you casting?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): more seafood
Uriel Iscariot: Before I start, my concentration must not be broken
GM: Uriel breaks out his candles, crucifixes, and all manner of religious items.
Uriel Iscariot: Therefore Someone will need to explain to her that she is possessed, and that she must rest while I am completing my ritual
TADM: Good luck with that.
Uriel Iscariot: Ezekial Ikwiano, will you take this burden?
[w] Zach Dallas: wait, were there any signs of Manitou or Nature spirits in my Detect spell?
Ezekial Ikwiano: I just remembered, I have to go have a gunfight.
Ezekial Ikwiano: Can't get outa it
Zach Dallas: A blatant lie?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Nope. She radiates Ki power, except for a couple Weird Science devices.
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} [1d12+2 = 7]
Zach Dallas: Anyway, she's not possessed, Uriel
Ezekial Ikwiano: Spirit [1d8 = 3]
Uriel Iscariot: Aye, but thee are devoting thyself to thy true father, no?
Zach Dallas: it's rather obvious when someone is possessed and she's not one of them
Ezekial Ikwiano: Well, I guess I can help out
Ezekial Ikwiano: Whadya need me to do?
Uriel Iscariot: Explain to Ms. Li that she must stay down, etc during my prayers
Ezekial Ikwiano: right
TADM: checks Zeke's Social skills....
Zach Dallas: Persuasion [1d6 = 4]
Zach Dallas: Uriel, she's not possessed
Chinese Man: Excuse me, good sirs.
Zach Dallas: Yes?
Uriel Iscariot: Quiet thy tongue, you are the last to know these sorts of things!
Zach Dallas: On the contrary, I am the FIRST to know of these sorts of things
Zach Dallas: having experienced it twice before
Ezekial Ikwiano: Pot, kettle
Chinese Man: I am truly sorry for this interruption, but my lord, Big Ears Tam, wishes to speak with you at your earliest convenience.
Ezekial Ikwiano: Spirit [1d8 = 13]
Chinese Man: He wishes to reward you for your truly impressive victory.
Chinese Man bows and moves to leave.
Ezekial Ikwiano: I'd love to go, but I have to help Uriel with a excorcism
Ezekial Ikwiano: Tell Tam to come here
Chinese Man freezes in place.
Zach Dallas: Hold on for one moment
Zach Dallas: Zeke, think of all of the money you can get there
Chinese Man: You...you are going to try to Exorcise Yojimbo's favored pupil?
Chinese Man turns white, no really...
Zach Dallas: no he's not
Zach Dallas: he's joking
Ezekial Ikwiano: I wanted to give her some cocaine
Zach Dallas: Persuasion [1d6 = 22]
Ezekial Ikwiano: But these guys didn't like that plan
Zach Dallas: pardon us
Uriel Iscariot: It is not the pupil that is a problem, alas the strange device she utilized hath taken grip of her
Zach Dallas shoos the man out of the room
Chinese Man nods vigorously in agreement with Zeke.
Zach Dallas: we'll be with you shortly
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: actually, I still have a ton of cocaine left over don't I
[w] -> Ezekial Ikwiano: Yes you do.
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: cause you gave me like 10 pounds of it
[w] -> Ezekial Ikwiano: 1 pound of it, but you still have a lot left.
Zach Dallas pulls off his right glove
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: I will try to pass some to Xiu Li secretly
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: without Zach or Uriel noticing
Zach Dallas: I haven't tried this yet...
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: What should I roll?
[w] -> Ezekial Ikwiano: Stealth
Zach Dallas: do you think it'll explode or break, or just stop working temporarily?
Ezekial Ikwiano: Unskilled {--2 Unskilled} [1d4-2 = 11]
Chinese Man: Thank you. I shall inform Big Ears Tam of your decision...and encourage every person in this Hotel to flee AS FAST AS POSSIBLE.
Chinese Man runs as fast as his feet will carry him.
GM: Notice checks.
Zach Dallas: Notice [1d6 = 3]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Notice [1d4 = 6]
Zach Dallas: looks at Zeke
Stinky Pete: Notice {+2 Alertness(S)} [1d8+2 = 9]
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): what is Zeke doing? Is he anywhere near Xiu Li?
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): is pete in the room?
Xiu Li eyes flutter open.
Xiu Li screams.
Nick (Stinky Pete): -3 for sleeping in his room
Ezekial Ikwiano: Mornin sunshine
Xiu Li flips to a standing position and circle kicks everyone in the room.
Xiu Li: Fighting [1d10+2 = 11]
Xiu Li: Martial Arts damage [2d8+2 = 10]
Zach Dallas: Agility [1d10 = 3]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Agility [1d12 = 2]
GM: Zeke is clipped in the jaw and shaken. Uriel and Zach both get hit for Shaken and a Wound.
Zach Dallas: Dammit, Zeke, what is wrong with you. I can't keep Uriel AND you away at the same time
Xiu Li leaps back against the wall, panting heavily.
TADM: Which might arouse Zeke...who knows...he probably likes it rough.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): yeah, fair assumption
Stinky Pete: Zzzzz.... *snore*
Xiu Li: Oh...sorry...
Zach Dallas: Spirit [1d6 = 7]
Ezekial Ikwiano: No worries, cocaine's a hell of a drug.
Zach Dallas: not a problem
Uriel Iscariot: Wh...Wha?
Ezekial Ikwiano: Spirit [1d6 = 5]
Xiu Li: AB: Healing [1d8 = 6]
[w] Zach Dallas: putting my glove back on
Zach Dallas: You were going comatose there for a while due to that belt
Xiu Li lays Hands on Uriel....and he is HEALED.
Uriel Iscariot: Well...thanks lady.
Ezekial Ikwiano: I got you some medicine.
Uriel Iscariot: Yes...the belt is EVIL!
Uriel Iscariot: EVIL I SAY!
Ezekial Ikwiano: Woulda worked sooner, but Zach turned some of it into water
Zach Dallas: I was trying to make sure it wasn't permanant, but the last time I messed with someone's mad science gear it nearly killed us all
Xiu Li looks annoyed.
Xiu Li: I would like to have a nice bath and get some sleep.
Ezekial Ikwiano: You just woke up
Xiu Li: But I thank you all for your concern for my well being.
Xiu Li bows.
Ezekial Ikwiano: And you just had a double-dose of cocain, you aint gonna be sleeping for a few hours
Xiu Li frowns.
Xiu Li: Well then, a bath sounds good.
Xiu Li: Zeke, you have soft fingers for a psychotic murderer, would you mind scrubbing my back?
Ezekial Ikwiano takes his clothes back off.
Xiu Li frowns.
Uriel Iscariot: Ugh
Zach Dallas: Anyways, I'm going to go get a spare set of my clothes from my room and wash up myself
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): is there anyone to send a message to Tam?
Zach Dallas: I suggest we head out in about an hour, once we're set with that
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): The chinese man was heading to Tam wasn't he?
GM: There is the Chinese man who left.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I'll go chase him down
Ezekial Ikwiano: An hour's plenty of time for me
Xiu Li bows to Uriel.
Xiu Li: Thank you for your concern for my well being.
Zach Dallas: Not a problem, thanks for saving our hides
Xiu Li takes off belt and looks at Carr Emergency Plan.
Ezekial Ikwiano turns on the hot water in the bath
Xiu Li: I think Uriel may be right, it appears to be broken.
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: assuming he can figure out how to
Ezekial Ikwiano: Smarts [1d6 = 3]
GM: Zeke figures out how to operate the hot water on the bathtub in the adjoining room.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): good thing too, since I spent all day handling water-logged corpses
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): I must smell aweful
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): almost as bad as Pete
TADM: I'm assuming this entire party smells pretty rancid.
GM: Okay...so everyone naps, bathes, etc., then heads over to Tam's place?
Nick (Stinky Pete): hey. I resemble that remark
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): sure
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): who I'll see if I can wake up before I go to get myself cleaned up
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): how does that go?
Zach Dallas: Yo, Pete, you there?
Zach Dallas enters Pete's room
Stinky Pete: Zzzzz.... *snore*
[w] Zach Dallas: if it was Locked I'm going to just Open on it
GM: Pete shoots Zach.
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): Really?
GM: Just kidding.
Nick (Stinky Pete): Or is he?
Zach Dallas: Oi, Pete?
Stinky Pete: Zzzzz.... *snore*
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): is his gun near him?
Uriel Iscariot TO TAMS!
Zach Dallas separate's Pete's gun from Pete
Zach Dallas: Pete, wake up
Zach Dallas kicks him a couple times
Zach Dallas: er, hits him, since he's probably in a bed
Stinky Pete's gun goes off and shoots Zach in the face
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): from the other side of the room?
GM: D100 [1d100 = 51]
GM: Actually...yes.
Nick (Stinky Pete): It goes off in your hand. I'm not touching it.
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Oh sure, the ONE TIME YOU FORGET TO DETECT MANITOUS.
[w] Zach Dallas: well, I wasn't expecting it to go off yet
Stinky Pete: Shooting (Called Shot (Head) -4) [1d8-4 = 8]
[w] Zach Dallas: usually they wait until danger
Ezekial Ikwiano: Notice [1d4 = 7]
[w] Stinky Pete: LOL you were saying hahaha
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): to hear the shot
Stinky Pete: Winchester '73 damage [2d8+1d6+4 = 29]
Stinky Pete smiles in his sleep
[w] Zach Dallas: also, if it matters I don't have my gloves on
GM: That would be 5 Wounds to Mr. Zach Dallas.
GM: Zeke definitely hears a Winchester '73 go off.
Zach Dallas is using a benny
Zach Dallas: Vigor [Critical failure!] [1d6 = 1]
[w] Ezekial Ikwiano: to li "I hear a shot!"
Kazemi (Zach Dallas): I can has nom bennies?
Zach Dallas: Vigor [1d6 = 5]
Xiu Li: I do as well.
Zach Dallas: Vigor [1d6 = 11]
Ezekial Ikwiano leaps out of the bath and charges across the hall into Pete's room
Ezekial Ikwiano: Who we fightin?!
Zach Dallas: Vigor [1d6 = 7]
[w] Stinky Pete: Wow, Vent just had a ping of over 7000
Ezekial Ikwiano: Who done shot Zach?
Zach is lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound in the face. Pete is sleeping blissfully on the bed and the rifle is on the floor.
Ezekial Ikwiano looks out the window for anyone that looks suspicious
Ezekial Ikwiano: Notice [1d6 = 4]
GM: ...On the opposite side of the room....
Uriel Iscariot: Greater Healing on Zach
Nick (Stinky Pete): how far is the gun from me? you know, in case it has to be proven in court that he shot himself?
Uriel Iscariot: Faith {+2 Conviction} +2 (Battle Damage! -1, Second Tier Power -3) [1d12-2 = 0]
Nick (Stinky Pete): thank you. was just typing that as you said that
Uriel Iscariot: Noooo!!!
GM: About four feet from Pete.
Xiu Li runs into the room.
Feneril (Ezekial Ikwiano): so do I see anything out of the window?
GM: The window is closed and latched.
TADM: Roll a D6 Fen.
Uriel Iscariot: Nooooo! Zach! What tragedy hath befallen thee!?!!
Ezekial Ikwiano: [1d6 = 3]
TADM: WOOT.
[w] Stinky Pete -> Zach Dallas: That was SOOOO awesome! Though now, I wasted a perfectly good headshot roll
Xiu Li: AB: Healing [1d6 = 7]
Xiu Li heals Zach of two wounds.
Xiu Li: Hmm...I don't think anything can be done for the left eye though.
Zach Dallas: God damned Harrowed
Uriel Iscariot: Zach what happened?
Zach Dallas: I got shot in the face, damn gun discharged
Uriel Iscariot: ...
Uriel Iscariot: Who Shot you?
Ezekial Ikwiano: Well I did once, but that was a accident
Xiu Li: I have only punched Zach a couple times.
Ezekial Ikwiano winks at Xiu Li
Zach Dallas: The idiot left his gun completely loaded and ready to fire
Zach Dallas: Persuasion [1d10 = 6]
Xiu Li looks at Zeke.
Uriel Iscariot: Smarts (Second Tier Power -4, Exhaustion! -1, Battle Damage! -1, Exhaustion! -1, Battle Damage! -1) [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6-8 = 3]
Ezekial Ikwiano: Who's the bigger idiot, the guy who leaves his gun loaded or the guy who gets shot in the face
Xiu Li suspects Zeke has read more into the "wash my back" request than she means.
Uriel Iscariot: Cant we go meet Tam without an incident?
[w] Zach Dallas: which eye are we going to say it is?
Uriel Iscariot: Or does SOMETHING HORRIBLE have to happen?
Ezekial Ikwiano: Can we do anything without an incident?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: Left.
Nick (Stinky Pete): PC = Provoker of Combat
Uriel Iscariot: No. But....
Uriel Iscariot: Ugh.
Uriel Iscariot: You...I...this...
[w] Zach Dallas: so, -2 to shooting and throwing. -1 to notice? I can still see fine
[w] Zach Dallas -> Stinky Pete: it's like telling me to go easy on the enemies Volcano Hideout
[w] -> Zach Dallas: You don't have depth perception. But essentially, yes.
[w] Zach Dallas: any other penalties?
[w] -> Zach Dallas: I recommend getting a glass eye so you don't have an empty socket, that gives you the Ugly Hindrance as well.
Stinky Pete: Zzzzz.... *snore*
Uriel Iscariot has been awarded a benny
Ezekial Ikwiano gives Pete some cocaine
Campaign saved.
