Savage Worlds Ruleset for Fantasy Grounds II. (c) 2009 Pinnacle Entertainment Group.
Today, in the city of Watanabe, it is a comfortable and dry day.
TADM: Okay, we will get started in 1d4 minutes.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Are we still at the casino or whatever it was after delivering the butter rum?
Kazemi ("Araki"): That turned out way better than I thought it would
Nick (Hida Sashimi): as Tack would say "Butter rum? More like better run!"
Feneril ("Keiko"): It turned out pretty much exactly like I thought it would, just easier
Kazemi ("Araki"): I was anticipating a lot more "Kill the heretics!"
Feneril ("Keiko"): Me too, but I figured I could talk my way out of it
Kazemi ("Araki"): rather than, "Hey, he's finally dead. Let's go get a beer. Someone put that under the rug."
TADM: Alrighty,
Kazemi ("Araki"): One day, Fen, an NPC isn't going to give you the chance to talk
TADM: That will be...tonight actually.
Feneril ("Keiko"): that's ok, I always have a backup character ready
"Araki": Say again?
"Keiko": Oh, I'm sorry I didn't see you there. I was just explaining to DAichi my utmost concern for your well being.
The party resumes, albeit with much greater enthusiasm as it seems that most everyone is more enthusiastic about serving Captain Mitsu than Captain Pekeshi. However, after a minute or so the party is disrupted by the arrival of a large number of soldiers wearing the mon of Sovereign. These are the closest that Watanabe gets to a police force.
"Keiko": Persuasion {+4 Very Attractive, +2 Most High, +2 Fine Attire, -2 Blind, +2 Charismatic, +1 Cultured} [1d12+9 = 11]
Ibaru: It is true, Pekeshi is dead!
Ibaru is a stern looking man. He looks around for likely suspects.
"Keiko": It was horrible! I've never seen a man die before!
Feneril ("Keiko"): technically true
Just about everyone in the crowd points at Ikuko.
TADM: Technically you still haven't.
Feneril ("Keiko"): indeed
Nick (Hida Sashimi): How is never seeing a man die horrible?
Kazemi ("Araki"): Hm, should've skedaddled earlier
Ibaru: Hmm...well, as he was betrothed to Captain Mitsu, it is her responsibility to judge you for this crime. You will come with us peacefully, or you will come with us in pieces.
Ibaru gestures for the other guards to surround the group.
"Araki": Peacefully
"Araki" puts his hands in the air
Hida Sashimi: As you wish
Akemi (whispers): This is going well.
Hida Sashimi: Kinda sad I didn't get to stop by the buffet
"Keiko": I am sure Captain Mitsu will be a wise and fair judge.
"Keiko" surrenders
Ibaru leads the group over to the Drunken Goat and demands an audience before Captain Mitsu. The Dragon Princess enters the room, looking grief-stricken and horrifed at what has happened.
Captain Mitsu (trembling voice): Are these the filthy outlanders who slew my love?
Feneril ("Keiko"): crap, afk a sec, phone
Feneril ("Keiko"): well, still here, but not entirely
Ibaru: Yes, your ladyship.
Captain Mitsu 's face contorts in rage and her hands shake as her skin flushes with anger.
"Keiko": I am a victim in this as much as you are milady. I am a kind-hearted girl, and did not think that the spoils of our journeys might be harmful.
"Keiko": I beg mercy for myself and my friends.
"Keiko" kneels.
"Araki" looks surprised at Mitsu's reaction
"Araki" bows
Daichi kneels.
Kazemi ("Araki"): kneels, I guess
Hida Sashimi kneels also, though with some difficulty
Kazemi ("Araki"): "rotates 90 degrees"?
Kazemi ("Araki"): Hey, Kuutai
Kazemi ("Araki"): We're being arrested
Captain Mitsu (super angry voice): Then they shall be punished! I shall have my trusted servant, Captain Burakku, take them south to Tenki, the Isle of the Dead, and there banish them for their crimes!
Quorteth (Kuutai): Oh. What are the charges?
Captain Mitsu (super angry voice): Let them stay there until they learn the folly of crossing Captain Mitsu and the Dragon Princes!
Captain Mitsu gestures disdainfully at the group.
Quorteth (Kuutai): you didnt even need my help getting arrested? :Sniff:
Captain Mitsu: Remove them from my sight before I kill them all!
Captain Mitsu storms out of the room.
Ibaru: All right, down to the docks you go. Lucky you, exile to Tenki is better than just being flayed alive here.
Ibaru gestures for everyone to follow him.
"Araki" Follows Ibaru
Hida Sashimi follows Ibaru as I comfort Akemi
Akemi: Well, that was unfortunate.
Hida Sashimi: It will be okay. As long as we have each other
"Araki": I don't suppose we could get weapons to cut spirits, could we?
Ibaru brings everyone down to the docks and marches them on board a ship named, "The Fortune."
Ibaru: You are going to die there, I will not waste any effort or equipment keeping the condemned alive. Do not trifle me with stupid questions.
Ibaru gestures at some men who bring Pekeshi's wrapped corpse onto the ship.
Ibaru: At least you can accompany his corpse to Tenki, and bury him off the waters there as is our custom.
Kazemi ("Araki"): Killing Pekeshi
TADM: And you were arrested for killing Pekeshi, like Mike said.
Kazemi ("Araki"): he's got a post on the forum
Ibaru: Now, I have better things to do then bandy with criminals.
Ibaru leads his men off the ship.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Yes, let's dump more Tainted meat overboard. We all remember how well THAT plan turned out
Captain Burakku is a tall, dark, and attractive man dressed in bright clothing and covered with an array of scarves and weapons upon his person. He walks up to the group with a friendly, almost disarming smile.
Captain Burakku gestures for his crew to cast off.
The Fortune is a decent size bune, built for speed more than comfort. It is obviously a raider and the blood stains scattered across the deck that have stubbornly resisted all attempts at cleaning are testament to the violent nature of the crew and its Captain.
Kazemi ("Araki"): scarves?
"Keiko": So Captain, where are we truly going?
TADM: Yep, scarves, guess if you get into combat you will find out what those are for.
"Keiko": If you don't mind my humble asking?
Captain Burakku: Tenki.
"Araki": Those are awesome scarves
"Keiko": Surely we can find someplace more.... Romantic?
Captain Burakku chuckles.
Captain Burakku: Undoubtedly, but I have reasons for going there, although I am sure you and I can find considerable romance. It is a shame it is only a three day journey that my ship will be graced with such a beautiful cargo.
"Keiko": Thank you for your kind remarks.
Hida Sashimi: At least it
Captain Burakku pulls a scroll out of his belt and hands it to Hida.
Hida Sashimi: 's not a 3 hour tour. Those never end well for ships
Captain Burakku: Here, Mitsu said that after you arrive on Tenki, you are to follow this map to a treasure she wishes recovered. You are entitled to 25% of whatever you recover in exchange for services rendered.
Kuutai: Ooh!
"Keiko": I was hoping her plan didn't actually involve going to Tenki, but I suppose this isn't a bad arrangement
Hida Sashimi: Oh. Sounds like a real gem of a mission.
Kuutai: What if we find only knowledge... how can one divide such a thing?
"Keiko": And I think she had too much fun playing the grieving widow, you'd think she'd never done it before.
"Araki": How do you find only knowledge?
Captain Burakku: There is considerable wealth there, if you find scrolls I doubt she is interested.
Captain Burakku: You may keep them as far as I am concerned.
"Araki": I suspect that each practice was done after a real murder
Kuutai: Ah very good.....
Captain Burakku: Yes, you are to recover for her a ring with the mark of a Dokato on it, as well a lacquered suit of fine armor, crafted for a woman.
"Araki": Why are they on Tenki?
Captain Burakku: Aside from those, her instructions are that you are to get your pick of the wealth beyond that, up to 25%.
Captain Burakku shrugs.
Captain Burakku: I suppose because they were buried there by the Pirate King Tume a few centuries ago.
"Araki": What about her ring?
Feneril ("Keiko"): FYI all, I took Command with my advance, so you all get a +1 to spirit rolls to recover from being shaken when I am around.
Kuutai: Smarts [1d10 = 7]
"Araki": Previous husband take it with him?
Captain Burakku looks at Araki.
Captain Burakku: Tume died centuries ago, I do not know what you mean by "previous husband."
"Araki": Er, more questioning what you meant by "her ring". I figured you meant it was hers before it was on the island
"Araki": I did not mean any offense, my appologies
Captain Burakku smiles.
"Araki" bows
Captain Burakku: I merely misspoke, no offense taken. It is a ring of interest to her Ladyship.
"Keiko": Do not worry Araki, as offensive as you can be, I can tell by his voice that Captain Burakku has thick skin
"Araki" pales
"Araki": Oh
"Keiko": I doubt you would be much of a bother, even if you swung that little stick of yours at him
Hida Sashimi: Captain, do you happen to know if I received a package I ordered before the unpleasantness with our...luggage here?
"Araki": I don't think I could pierce the scarves...
Hida Sashimi points at the corpse
Captain Burakku: Ah, yes, landing on Tenki requires the disposal of a corpse off the waters. That is the reason for the corpse.
Quorteth (Kuutai): he still insists it was awesome....
Quorteth (Kuutai): that can change...=)
Captain Burakku: As to the rest of your luggage, many things were brought aboard this morning in crates, I assume those hold your gear and a few other things.
Captain Burakku: They are in the hold.
Captain Burakku smiles at Ikuko.
Quorteth (Kuutai): a SNP of information to me, and it woulda worked.
Captain Burakku: Of course, many nice things for you are in my cabin, if you are interested in inspecting them.
"Keiko": I am afraid that my powers of inspection are not what you might expect.
"Keiko": Notice {-6 Blind, -2 Unskilled} [1d6-8 = -5]
Captain Burakku: Perhaps you would prefer to inspect by touch?
Kuutai: Tume....he must have many treasures......
"Araki": How are we getting off the island?
"Keiko": I think it would be wisest to wait until after our excursion to the shore, after all, I want to give you a vested interest in our survival.
"Keiko" smiles
Hida Sashimi: Kn (Regional Cuisine) {+1 Def. Interest} [1d6+1 = 4]
"Araki" glances at Daichi
Daichi (to "Araki"): Don't give me that look. He has a ship and a title and you are a petty criminal.
Daichi walks away from the group.
Captain Burakku: You are getting off the island because I will come pick you up after three days.
Captain Burakku looks disappointed at Ikuko.
Captain Burakku: As you wish.
"Araki": Excellent
Daichi: Fighting [1d8 = 5]
Daichi punches "Araki"
Kazemi ("Araki"): does not hit my parry
"Araki" sidesteps
A sullen looking man with an eye-patch walks over. He grunts and snarls at the group, gesturing for you to follow him.
Kazemi ("Araki"): REAL PIRATE
Captain Burakku: Ah Yanagi, take care of our guests...
Kuutai: Captain Burakku.....I have a question./
Captain Burakku looks at Kuutai.
Captain Burakku: Yes?
Kazemi ("Araki"): Does he have a parot and/or peg leg?
TADM: Neither.
Kazemi ("Araki"): goal 1: Get a parrot for Yanagi
Kuutai: Tume surely had the lion's share of pilfered treasures....How are we to tell one suit of armor from another?
Captain Burakku: I am told that it is one of the few pieces fitted for a woman, and is colored in sea-green.
Captain Burakku shrugs.
Captain Burakku: If there is more than one of those, bring them all.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): If he stays with our group long enough, I'm sure getting him a peg leg would be no troublec
Yanagi looks at Akemi.
Kuutai: Okay. Works for me.
Yanagi grunts and chortles.
Akemi: Eww...
Akemi looks at Yanagi.
Akemi: ...oh...
Akemi hides behind Hida.
Hida Sashimi has been awarded a benny
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Yes! Victory is MINE!
Yanagi gestures for the group to follow him below decks.
Kuutai follow
"Araki" follows, he wants to see his 1007
The group's equipment is there, as well as a new Kusari-gama for Kazuki.
Daichi leads "Keiko" after Yanagi
Kuutai: Oooh! Stuff!
Nick (Hida Sashimi): you're welcome, Mike
"Araki": Woot!
"Araki": Now I just have to get it enchanted by bringing it to a highly-magical island of curses and strange items
"Araki": But where will we find one of those?
"Araki": Kuutai, what will we do?!
TADM: Suspiciously, you are headed there. I'm sure Kazuki's past will cause a TPK.
Kuutai: Do not make light of terrible curses......the heavens and the earth both scorn that island.....
Kazemi ("Araki"): Schweet
Kuutai: I could see trifling with either individually....
Kuutai: but together that's quite a doozy!
Hida Sashimi: If heaven and earth both scorn it, shouldn't it float in the sky so neither has to deal with it?
"Keiko": Maybe it does
Kuutai: Well....that's an interesting way to think about it.
Yanagi grunts and snorts and points disdainfully at some space that has been set aside for you.
Yanagi looks lecherously at Akemi and Ikuko.
"Keiko" doesn't notice.
Akemi: Again with the "Ewwww...."
"Araki": Thanks, Yanagi-san
"Araki" bows
"Araki": Persuasion (Etiquette) [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 2]
Yanagi snorts and walks off.
"Araki": One day.
Kuutai: Well then. Whos for relaxing for the next three days?
"Keiko": I prefer to relax in more comfortable accomodations. Daichi, take me to see Captain Burakku if you would be so kind.
Daichi leads "Keiko" back to the deck.
"Araki" keeps his distance
"Araki" smiles
Daichi gives "Araki" a dirty look.
"Araki": Stealth [1d10 = 3]
Daichi: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 4]
The Fortune is out to sea and traveling south at a good pace.
"Keiko": Notice {-6 Blind, -2 Unskilled} [1d4-8 = -5]
Hida Sashimi: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 3]
Campaign saved.
Quorteth (Kuutai): Actually, I want to go scuba diving...but it prolly wouldnt work out.
Kazemi ("Araki"): You could cast the spell, we can tie the rope to you, and then throw you overboard
Kazemi ("Araki"): What's the worst that could happen?
Quorteth (Kuutai): yes, but then youd be dragged, and really couldnt take a good peak, either that or get a realy good cleaning from every sponge and coral we pass by.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Kuutai as an anchor? I like that plan!
Kazemi ("Araki"): he's full of too much hot air, he's just float
TADM: Interesting...very...very...interesting. So who's the player and who's being played?
Kazemi ("Araki"): Better question: Are they mutually exclusive?
Nick (Hida Sashimi): We'd tie rocks to him first, of course
The first day passes uneventfully, unless Ikuko gets the party killed.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): No giving Ikuko goals!!
Hida Sashimi goes and gambles with the sailors on board, if they allow such things
Hida Sashimi: Gambling [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 3]
Hida loses money, the sailors suggest he start offering "time with Akemi" as an option.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): How much money? And that option would cost more than this ship.
Hida Sashimi: Sorry guys. Greed is not one of my Hindrances
TADM: 20 bu over the course of the day.
The sailors are a pretty rough looking group of men, clearly used to using violence to solve their problems.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Oops. Forgot I had fatigue. What's the roll to remove it?
TADM: Vigor check.
Hida Sashimi: Vigor {+1 Mark} [1d10+1 = 10]
Scratch earlier statement, maybe Kuutai will cause the TPK.
Hida Sashimi goes to study the map
Hida Sashimi: Notice [1d6 = 10]
Hida Sashimi: Smarts [1d6 = 5]
Kuutai leans over the side of the boat and makes random incantations. Suddenly there is an eruption of water and about 500 pounds of anchovies flies onto the deck from the water. This does cause the boat to tip wildly for a second, sending sailors flying into the rigging and swaying wildly on ropes before the Fortune rights itself. There is considerable grumbling from the crew, who look ready to skewer Kuutai, until Captain Burakku shows up and mentions, "Wow, elusive hammerhead anchovies! Some of the most delicious non-fugu fish in the world! We are fortunate."
Captain Burakku bows to Kuutai.
Captain Burakku: That is quite an impressive display, we are honored.
"Keiko": They smell like the inside of a coffin.
Captain Burakku: Well, there is that downside, until they are cooked.
Kuutai: You are most welcome. I am so happy to be on the open...endless...bottomless...ocean.
"Araki": How do you know what the inside of a coffins smells like?
"Keiko": Well, if they are as good as you say, I am sure Akemi can do something wonderful with them.
Hida Sashimi: We could pickle them. Or store them in these new devices called "cans".
Nick (Hida Sashimi): And thus was born the modern anchovy industry
Akemi: I was thinking of putting them on some dough with tomato sauce and cheese and cooking it in an oven.
Feneril ("Keiko"): It would have been stillborn, the fat Japanese man would have eaten all of the "industry" before it could be sold
"Araki": For some reason that sounds like a bad use for them
Quorteth (Kuutai): Oh..I assure you....everyting melts. =)
Hida Sashimi: That sounds good too
Hida Sashimi: Kn (Cooking) {+1 Food (Def. Interest)} [1d4+1 = 8]
Kuutai having done his good deed for the day, stares silently into the depths.
TADM: So instead of "loose lips sink ships," when have "nice ships give Ikuko loose hips?"
Nick (Hida Sashimi): for the day? more like the year
"Araki": How do you talk them into coming out of the water?
"Araki": Stealth {+2 Thief} [1d6+2 = 15]
"Araki" is suddenly right next to Kuutai
Akemi comes up with the world's best Banya Cauda (because it is delicious.)
Yanagi stares lecherously at Akemi.
Feneril ("Keiko"): It is also spelled Bagna cauda, just sayin'
Quorteth (Kuutai): MANMODE
Akemi looks at Yanagi.
Akemi: I'm out of the business, so fuck off.
Yanagi looks shocked and walks away.
Some of the anchovies flop around a bit, which is disturbing, but Akemi smashes them with a hammer and they stop moving.
Hida Sashimi: Great job, honey
Akemi: Sure, hold these herbs while I mix up something.
Hida Sashimi holds them for her
Kuutai: I didnt convince them of anything. What am i going to do, threathen to gill them?
Akemi cooks up some delicious food, everyone enjoys it, Yanagi falls over dead and gets dumped next to Pekeshi's corpse.
Akemi washes hands.
Akemi: All set there.
Kuutai: I just picked em up, and put them here. Look ma, no hands!
"Keiko": Oh no, Captain Burakku will have to appoint a new first mate.
"Araki": AH! I NEVER GOT HIM A PARROT
Nick (Hida Sashimi): So, you said "Fluke you"?
Captain Burakku: Yes, and I appoint, Inshun.
"Keiko": A most wise choice.
Captain Burakku points to a surly and irritable looking man who does not have an eyepatch.
"Araki": Damn, now I have three steps
Hida Sashimi: Inshun, you should wear an eyepatch
Hida Sashimi: Persuasion {+1 Etiquette} [1d6+1 = 3]
Nick (Hida Sashimi): awww
The next morning dawns and the Fortune glides between the islands, heading south to the of Tenki.
"Keiko": Captain, could I have an eyepatch too? It would make me feel like such a rogue!
Captain Burakku: Certainly, anything for you.
Quorteth (Kuutai): lol
Captain Burakku gives Ikuko an eyepatch.
"Keiko": Thank you. I will wear it anytime I am aboard ship.
"Keiko" puts the eyepatch on.
Inshun walks up next to Kuutai as the onmyoji is watching over the railing.
"Keiko": Yarr!
"Araki": Persuasion (Acting) {+1 Defining Interest} [1d4+1 = 4]
"Keiko" giggles.
"Araki" coughs
Captain Burakku laughs at Ikuko's behavior and finds her quite adorable.
Inshun: So, you are an onmyoji?
Inshun: I have a request of you then.
Kuutai: Sure. Go ahead.
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Is it "die"? I like that request!
Inshun: On the island of Tenki is supposedly Zukoto, the Cave of Skulls. It is rumored that within it is where the folk of Doragon Mizu buried their worst criminals after the island fell to Tume's Curse. It is also said that within the Cave is passage to Anoyo and the realm where the dragons sleep. If you can find any proof that this is true, I will be most grateful.
Kuutai: Zukoto....the Cave of Skulls...I see, another place the barrier is weak? This far? Hrm....
Kuutai: Sure. But there is no guarantee I would live through such a spelunking....why do you seek this knowlege, Inshun?
Nick (Hida Sashimi): How convenient that Summon Fish creates a plot hook
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Kuutai, don't take the bait!
Kuutai: If you should know that Anoyo is accesible...what then?
Kuutai: Do you intent to awaken dragons? You know what they say...
Inshun: I have heard it said that the dead can be returned to life through the opening in the cave. That is of considerable use to me.
Kuutai: Go on...
Nick (Hida Sashimi): Once one awakens, the rest will be just dragon their feet?
Inshun: There is someone that I would like to bring back, and I am looking for ways to do this.
Quorteth (Kuutai): Damn you are aon a streak tonight Nick.
Kuutai: Very well then. I shall see to this. What you do with it is your own.
Inshun: Thank you.
"Araki": Who do you wish to bring back?
Lookout: Ahoy! Debris in the water!
Hida Sashimi: Notice [1d6 = 11]
Daichi: Notice [Trait roll was a natural 1] [1d6 = 7]
Inshun (looks at Araki): Not you, if you ask again.
It looks like a small ship was smashed against the rocks surrounding a nearby moss covered island. There do not appear to be any survivors.
Inshun: Hmm...suspicious.
Captain Burakku runs over to the railing to take a look.
Captain Burakku gestures at the island and yells at Kuutai.
Captain Burakku: Onmyoji, unleash your fury before it destroys us!
Quorteth (Kuutai): Well shucks.....If I hadn't wasted all my power points on trying to be an idiot....
Feneril (Daichi): well done
Captain Burakku: Look sharp men, it is a giant water oni!
Inshun: Weird, such things normally do not come this close to land.
Inshun runs to his position and begins yelling orders.
Captain Burakku finds Ikuko.
"Araki": How do we fight water?
Captain Burakku: We need to get you below decks where you will be safe.
"Keiko": I Agree
Daichi: as do I
"Keiko" kisses Captain Burakku on the cheek.
Inshun: Aim for the eyes and the organs that will become visible when it attacks.
"Keiko": Stay safe
Daichi takes "Keiko" below decks.
"Araki": OK
Inshun: The shell on the top is impenetrable to all except magic, so we have to wait until it attacks.
"Araki" draws his weapon
Inshun: Unless the onmyoji can kill it before it gets here.
Daichi takes up a position next to Kuutai and draws his katana.
Indeed, it looks like the island and the "rocks" around it are getting much closer to the boat than the speed of the vessel suggests.
The island also looks like it is about half the size of the boat.
Hida Sashimi: Why don't we dump off some of the fish to distract it, and lighten our load so we can escape?
"Araki": Oh dear
Hida Sashimi: It's a waste of food, I know. It saddens me greatly
Kuutai: "Araki"...is there some sort of island-fish or island-sea thing in your knowledge?
Inshun: Because it can outrun this boat at any speed, unless the onmyoji can make the ship fly.
"Araki": Yeah, large boat eating oni are just fables
Kuutai: ...
"Araki" shrugs
Kuutai: Hrm...
Kuutai: Okay, boomy time I suppose.
Sensei: Fire at will
Kuutai holds until he sees said vulnerable parts.
"Araki" takes up guard for Kuutai
"Araki": I'm not sure how useful that will be, but...
Kazemi ("Araki"): full defense?
Kazemi ("Araki"): goes on Hold so he can throw himself in the way of danger FOR THE GREATER GOOD
"Araki" goes on Hold so he can throw himself in the way of danger FOR THE GREATER GOOD
The oni rears up, it has no discernable anatomy other than looking like a giant amorphous blob. From the unarmored underside, it looks like a giant single-celled amoeba is about to crush the boat and everyone on it. Kuutai is in awe of the 3 meter long mitochondria that may soon kill him.
Lookout: Wow, that would suck.
Quorteth (Kuutai): I cast interupt krebs cycle!
"Araki": SHOOT IT DEAD
Feneril (Daichi): lol
Feneril (Daichi): Keep it away from the hela cells, lest it grow to unmanageable size!
Kazemi ("Araki"): It's already at unmanageable size
Kuutai: NUKE BEAMU!
Kuutai Dump 6 pts into it
Kazemi ("Araki"): I'm a firein' mah BLARRRRRRGH
Kuutai: Bolt(Enhanced) damage [3d6 = 15]
Kuutai: Bolt(Enhanced) damage [3d6 = 7]
Kuutai: Bolt(Enhanced) damage [3d6 = 10]
TADM: Holy detonating oni, onmyoji-man.
Sensei: Oh wait...
Quorteth (Kuutai): theres pyruvate all over us!
TADM: It's Shaken.
Kuutai: give it the what for!
Daichi shoots at the creature with his Tezemu Tanjuu
Daichi: Shooting: Tezemu Tanjuu [1d6 = 4]
Daichi: Tezemu Tanjuu damage [2d6 = 9]
Round 1
Dealing cards...
Kuutai was dealt the Ace of Hearts.
"Araki" was dealt the Five of Hearts.
Daichi was dealt the Queen of Diamonds.
Hida Sashimi was dealt the Two of Spades.
Giant Water Oni was dealt the Jack of Diamonds.
Kuutai
Kuutai 3x2d6s
Sensei: You strike it with magic, roll damage.
Kuutai: Bolt damage [2d6 = 6]
Kuutai: Bolt damage [2d6 = 8]
Kuutai: Bolt damage [2d6 = 4]
Daichi
Daichi: Shooting: Tezemu Tanjuu [1d6 = 15]
Daichi: Tezemu Tanjuu damage [3d6 = 13]
Quorteth (Kuutai): retires, and decides to sell safe-T sparklers instead of deadly magic.
Daichi shoots the giant water oni and gooey viscous ooze sprays out of it and over the crew.
Kazemi ("Araki"): From what you're rolling, I'd guess that the sparklers were your strength
Sensei: D12 [1d12 = 1]
"Araki": Gross
Daichi: Good thing "Keiko" went below decks, I don't think she could stomach this
Giant Water Oni is using a benny
Giant Water Oni: [6d6 = 19]
Giant Water Oni: D6 [1d6 = 6]
Giant Water Oni: D6 [1d6 = 3]
TADM: Okay, it really beats the crap out of someone...
Giant Water Oni: D8 [1d8 = 1]
Kazemi ("Araki"): not me
Giant Water Oni: D12 [1d12 = 6]
Giant Water Oni: D6 [1d6 = 2]
Giant Water Oni: D6 [1d6 = 4]
Quorteth (Kuutai): targeted shot to the NADHs!
Giant Water Oni throws rock like debris at the deck, while a large one one smashes into Kuutai and flattens him for Shaken+2 Wounds.
Quorteth (Kuutai): =(
Kuutai is using a benny
Kuutai: Vigor [1d6 = 5]
Kazemi ("Araki"): can I dive in the way and take the blow?
Sensei: Sure, make an Agility check.
Kuutai dont bother, im out of mana.
"Araki": Agility {+2 Acrobat} [1d10+2 = 21]
"Araki": KUUTAI NOOOO!
Kuutai has been awarded a benny
TADM: Okay, then Araki gets Shaken+3 Wounds.
Sensei: And Kuutai gets his Benny back.
Quorteth (Kuutai): WHY!?!?!
Kazemi ("Araki"): lol
"Araki" is using a benny
"Araki": Vigor [1d6 = 3]
"Araki" is using a benny
"Araki": Vigor [1d6 = 4]

Daichi: You shut up Kazuki!
"Araki": We should explode the lookout before he Turns
Daichi: Of course YOU would suggest killing the wounded man
Daichi: you bararian
Inshun: I was thinking chop the head off and melt the body in fire, because if you have explosives, using them on the lookout and not the giant water oni would make the crew angry.
Akemi: That was exciting, and look, I can enter a wet kimono contest now.
Sailors stare hard at Akemi.
Daichi: I don't think this stuff is water, it is too thick and sticky
"Araki": can the boat survive fire?

"Araki": I've got some oil and matches, though
The ship sails on and reaches the island of Tenki the following morning. The island is a dreary and fog-shrouded place. Eerie white mists drift along the water and on the island. Those of you with sharp eyes feel that you can sometimes see leering faces in the mists as they pass close to the boat. There is a decent amount of green and color that can be spotted through the mists, but the overall feeling of the island is that it is rather unsettling.
Captain Burakku: We shall bury our dead in the waters here. I will have Inshun row you ashore.
Inshun rows the group to shore after you collect whatever equipment and three days worth of food.
"Keiko" takes off her eyepatch.
TADM: Okay, we will pick up next time with you standing on the beach, any questions for Burakku or Inshun before we call it a night?
Campaign saved.
