Tack (Meltam Perandus): hello
Feneril (Slumbara): EYYYYYYYY
Feneril (Slumbara): BTW if I don't hear something on chat, it is probably because Franklin is screaming his head off while my wife is feeding him, so she just keeps turning up the volume on her Vietnamese soap opera so she can hear it lol
Kazemi (Volmalric): Franklin's being a goat
Meltam Perandus: Survival Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 10]
Meltam Perandus is using a Hero Point
Tack: Meltam Perandus is using a Hero Point
Meltam Perandus: Stealth 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 7]
Meltam Perandus: be super sneaky while doing so
Feneril (Slumbara): That isn't very sneaky
Meltam Perandus: Persuade 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 11]
Meltam Perandus: Acrobatics Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 10]
Volmalric is using a Hero Point
Meltam Perandus: Sure thing. But since time appears to be quite mutable here, might I learn a thing or two of Sorcery while here?
Meltam Perandus: Stealth 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 26]
Metalm and the Bat Demon are having quite a wonderful conversation about time, metaphysics, and defense against the horrible actions of evil people. Then a few more Meltam's appear to perform various domestic duties (like cleaning, sweeping, dropping off the clothes from the laundry, bringing food, etc.) Suddenly one of them yells, "Don't worry young Meltalm, I will save you!" He runs forward with a silvery knife, heading right for the Bat Demon when he trips on a rug and falls to the ground. The knife flies through the air and Meltam dodges to one side, but as he does the backpack falls to the ground and Volmalric and Slumbara spill to the floor.
The other Meltams all attack the Meltam that tried to kill the Meltam...
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 19]
Meltam Perandus: Command Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 22]
Volmalric: Observation Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 15]
Meltam Perandus: Discipline Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 12]
Meltam Perandus: Meltams, put those two back in the bag!
Slumbara: Traitor
Slumbara: I should have killed more of you when I had the chance
Meltams: First we have to kill this Meltam that risked the life of the primary Meltam!
Meltam Perandus: Probably. That's not important now. Get back in the bag you two!
Volmalric: Primary Meltam?
Meltam Perandus: Meltams, disregard the bad meltam
Slumbara is using a Hero Point
Volmalric: Meltam, I don't think this is an advisable course of action
Volmalric: First off, that bag is trippy, and I do not want to go back in there
Volmalric: Second off
Volmalric points at the winged Meltam
Meltam Perandus: But it is. As a priest of Mitra, you must believe me at this moment.
Slumbara: Melee 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 14]
Slumbara: Melee 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 18]
Volmalric: Did you get possessed again?
Meltam Perandus: I am not actually possesed at this time. I am trying to fix this time-knot.
Meltams: Acrobatics Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 33]
Volmalric: Did you get possessed by the very bat demon we were supposed to get blood from?
Volmalric: How are we supposed to get the ingrediants if you got possessed by it!
Bat Demon: He most definitely did not!
Meltam Perandus: I did everything properly and obtained the reagent, and was about to free you when apprpriate?
Meltam Perandus: Literally a Mitra-Scout right now/
Volmalric: That's exactly what Meltam would say if he did!
Meltam Perandus: seems to be in disbelief.
Tack (Meltam Perandus): One Man Army vs. 30 clones
Kazemi (Volmalric): I like the mental image of Slumbara fighting all the Meltams in the background as we talk
Slumbara: Melee 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 6]
Slumbara: Melee 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 16]
Slumbara: Broadsword: (Reach 2-Parry 1-UNB-5D): [7d6 = 27]
GM: For the record, I feel bad for the Bat Demon.
Slumbara grabs Delia's backpack and leaps into action, he throws something into the bag as he shoves the bat demon's head into it, and pulls the draw string shut tight. Moments later, with two great swings from his broadsword, he cleaves into the foul Meltam's wings
Volmalric blinks in surprise
Volmalric pulls Meltam away from the struggling Meltam Prime as it flails and dies
Volmalric: Okay, over to the side here, what was going on?
Meltam Perandus: I just...don't see why this had to happen.
Bat Demon would scream in anguish, but you do not hear it, because his head is too busy exploding into thousands of gooey ugly bits when the potion erupts in the bag, causing it to expand out like an airline water vest. His headless corpse drops to the ground as Slumbara chops off the wings and stands over a gooey puddle of dead Meltam-Bat Demons.
Meltams: NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
"Helpful Meltam": Oh shit.
Volmalric: You got the blood?
Meltam Perandus Lights a cool, refreshing Lucky Strike
The entire tower shudders and shakes. The Meltams around you scream and melt into puddles of black tarry goo.
Slumbara: You can ring it out of my shirt
Slumbara: Or
Volmalric: Ew
Slumbara picks up a wing and hands it to Volmalric
Meltam Perandus: What happened here is a scene that could happen anywhere, anywhen. A not so uncommon event where understanding breaks down and all pretense of civiization evaporates, thankfully, tonight contained within the Scholar-Zone
Meltam Perandus: Let's get out of here now
Volmalric gets a vial from his pack, holding it out to collect the dripping ichor
The tower begins shaking far more violently. Through the opening that leads to the balcony you see a chunk of wall fly UP through the air.
Volmalric: Leaving!
Meltam Perandus: Agility - 11 Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 25]
Slumbara finishes filling Volmalric's vial and then tosses the wing aside
Slumbara: For once I agree
Slumbara: Athletics 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 19]
Volmalric shoves the stopper into place, sticking it back into a padded pocket
Meltam Perandus is using a Hero Point
Meltam Perandus: Observation 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Tack (Meltam Perandus): re-roll the 15
Meltam Perandus: [1d20 = 18]
Volmalric: Athletics 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 14]
Kazemi (Volmalric): +1 Success on a success for Athletics
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 18]
Slumbara: [1d20 = 19]
The group manages to flee outside the tower as the walls and parts of it begin flying skyward. (If you want to imagine the trees being sucked into the vacuum cleaner in Spaceballs, this is a suitable image.) At a certain point, the hill collapses in on itself and a soon all that is left is a spherical crater 200' in diameter with a glowing black orb hovering in the middle of it.
Volmalric: Hmmmm
Volmalric: I think that's sorcery
Meltam Perandus: It just might be, yeah.
Slumbara: Brilliant deduction
Volmalric: We should probably leave
Volmalric: And keep leaving
Volmalric: At haste
Meltam Perandus: To the dragon's lair.
Meltam Perandus: That should be the easiest task
Meltam Perandus: if the past-future is any guiide
Slumbara: Yes, Volmalric seemed to think so
Slumbara: But before we go, we should destroy this backpack
Meltam Perandus: That's not nice. Keep it for Deliah when we get to her finally.
Volmalric: I'm not sure we can destroy it, but it definitely needs to be buried and lost forever
Volmalric: There are things inside which we don't want outside, and destroying it might release them
Slumbara: Well Volmalric seemed to think it was important to destroy it
Volmalric: Hmmm? Did you see him too?
Slumbara: Yes, he told me not to drink the potion that you made
Slumbara: because it explodes
Volmalric: Well, that is good
Slumbara: And also not to fuck those ladies at the enclave
Volmalric: I was wondering when I gave you explosives
Slumbara: I guess they have STDs or something, I didn't want to pry
Meltam Perandus: We should be making haste.
Meltam Perandus: no time to argue eh?
Volmalric: Talk as we walk!
Slumbara: Perhaps throwing the back into that black orb would destroy it
Meltam Perandus: That would bot be a good idea
Volmalric: I don't think so
Volmalric: Volcano might be a better bet
Slumbara: Good thinking
Slumbara: Much safer
Volmalric: but I say we just bury the thing in a deep or unmarked grave
Slumbara: While we are on the way, I made these. I didn't know your sizes, but you can try them on and decide which parts you want to play
Meltam Perandus: Why thank you!
Slumbara: takes out a sailor uniform, a dress and a prisoner's jumpsuit and holds them up
Slumbara: I have prepared parts for each of us
Slumbara takes out a sailor uniform, a dress and a prisoner's jumpsuit and holds them up
Slumbara: Which would you each prefer?
Volmalric: Sailor's uniform is fine for me
Meltam Perandus: Doesn't matter. whichever of us is better suited to the role.
Slumbara: In that case, Meltam you should be the prisoner
Slumbara: Because you are shady and untrustworthy
Meltam Perandus: I don't understand where you get that
Meltam Perandus: but...sure.
Kazemi (Volmalric): "campaigns cartographer"
Slumbara gives Meltam the prisoner's jumpsuit
Meltam Perandus: Right-o.
Meltam Perandus: but we should wait till we are closer to change.
Slumbara: Yes, also I much teach you both your lines
Slumbara: I could not write them down, because Slumbara cannot write
The group arrives back at the unattended but suspciously well maintained ferry across the bridge.
Meltam Perandus: No Diving.
You cross the river using the ferry without incident, unless you create one.
Slumbara: Of course not, Slumbara will sail
Slumbara: Sailing 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 16]
Volmalric: Observation Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 34]
Meltam Perandus: Observation 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 23]
Volmalric keeps an eye out on the stone-henge like structure as they approach
The Stonehenge like configuration of stones watches the group suspiciously from a distance. It saw what happened to the Bat Tower, so these people are clearly dangerous to free-standing structures.
Meltam Perandus: Resistance 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 8]
Volmalric: Lore 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 22]
Volmalric: What do you think that is?
Meltam Perandus: Lore 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Slumbara: Lore 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 32]
Slumbara: It must be a hitching post for VERY large horses
Slumbara: I can only imagine how big the people are that ride them
Meltam Perandus: That is a good explaination, and I think you are very smart.
Volmalric: The fact that I cannot reasonably rebuke that is frustrating
Meltam Perandus: Persuade 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 8]
Slumbara: Discipline 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 39]
Slumbara: It is ok, you may not be as smart as Slumbara, but you have other strengths
Slumbara gives Meltam a friendly pat on the butt
Volmalric: Resistance 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Volmalric: AHHHHH
Volmalric doubles over, holding his eye
Meltam Perandus: Volmalric, are you OK? Did you get jostled around in that bag?
Meltam Perandus: Healing 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 11]
Meltam Perandus: Do you need some rest?
Volmalric: Thing is here
Slumbara: We can set up camp amongst these ominous stones if you need to take a break
Volmalric: stands back up, holding a hand over his eye
Volmalric stands back up, holding a hand over his eye
Volmalric: No, I think we need to keep moving, and fast. Get some distance from that black orb and the stone structures
Meltam Perandus: Excellent.
Volmalric: Something just tried to take hold of me
Volmalric blinks and rubs his eye
Meltam Perandus: Observation 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 23]
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 23]

Slumbara: [1d20 = 15]
Tack (Meltam Perandus): No Whammies No Whammies no Whammies..
Slumbara: Volmalric, are you feeling ok? Something is wrong with your eye
Volmalric: Yeah, I know
Volmalric: Is it purple?
Slumbara: Yes
Volmalric: Fuck
Slumbara: How did you know? Do you have a mirror?
Slumbara: Do you want me to cut it out?
Slumbara takes out his broadsword
Volmalric: No, my eye was purple when I was older
Volmalric: Not yet
Volmalric: Oh God
Volmalric: And not with that
Volmalric puts Meltam between him and Slumbara
Slumbara: Are you sure? I could do it real quick
Slumbara: No trouble at all
Meltam Perandus: Volmalric, you gotta do something abot that eye.
Meltam Perandus: Either you gotta de-posses it, or let the other one get possesed eh?
Volmalric: I should have asked about the eye
Meltam Perandus: You are confusing people.
Meltam Perandus: Eye for one, won't stand for this hodge-podge look.
Volmalric: I think something might have taken my eye and put its own in place of it
Volmalric: Or just possessed it
Slumbara: Sounds like I should cut it out
Slumbara: Hold still
Volmalric: Not yet!
Volmalric: It's not safe medically speaking!
Meltam Perandus: Slumbara no there's an easier way
Meltam Perandus: Just make an eye patch out of all those costumes
Volmalric: Eye removal is a very complicated process
Slumbara: I don't know, Slumbara has removed plenty of eyes
Meltam Perandus: Then whatever is using that to spy on us gets no info.
Slumbara: You can do it with your bare hands
Slumbara: Hmm, Meltam's suggestion is probably safer for you though
Volmalric: Eye patch would be great
Meltam Perandus: Yarr!
Volmalric: And it would work well with that costume
Slumbara: Eye, it would
Meltam Perandus: take that, stupid rock-thing
Volmalric: I spent three years at sea, so I'm quite familiar with the stereotypes
Slumbara: Oh I didn't realize you were into men
Volmalric: Aware of the stereotypes, not participating in them
Meltam Perandus: Observation 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 13]
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 22]
Volmalric: Observation Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 25]
Slumbara: [1d20 = 5]
Volmalric is looking around the area, and as he does, both Slumbara and Meltam notice what looks like a hide cylinder nestled under the altar in the middle of the Stonehenge-thingy.
Slumbara: Hmm, it might be another note from old man Volmalric
Volmalric: Oh please yes
Slumbara points to the rolled up hide
It looks like exactly the kind of thing that future Volmalric would use to store a note for the rest of the group.
Slumbara picks up the hide and examies it
Volmalric covers up his purple eye with one hand and retrieves the note
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 22]
Slumbara: Linguistics 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 25]
Meltam Perandus: Intelligence - 8 Successes = 1 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 21]
Meltam Perandus: if I instead find a horrible spell, well. oops.
Slumbara walks into the Stonehenge thing and notices that as soon as he walks into it, the world outside is entirely different. It looks like he is in a densely forested area and the air smells of sea and salt water. Overhead, the sky is now overcast.
Slumbara: Observation 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 13]
Meltam and Volmalric see Slumbara disappear from view as soon as he walks into the Stonehenge thing.
Campaign saved.
