Volmalric looking concernadly up in the sky, Volmaric finally turns away to dash towards where the spear is embedded in a petrified tree. Pulling it out, he heaves it towards the back of the berserker spirit just in time for it to turn around. It claps its hands together to catch the tip of the spear
Berserker Spirit 's attempt to catch the spear fails rather miserably, as it drops its weapon and the javelin passes through it, causing a bright blue flash. The spirit shimmers and dissipates into thousands of motes of light, like fireflies floating in the wind.

Bridgit gasps and blinks a few times. Then she hacks up a glob of black-red blood.
Bridgit rolls over and rises to her knees.
Tilpi is seemingly oblivious to her own wounds as she sitches up Brigit.
A small bluish half-sphere forms around Bridgit and expands outward to a range of about 2 meters.
Thumocris: Damn you!
Rhotinia retrieves the bluesteel javelin
A yellow-gray mist appears, hovering just above the ground. Arcs of lightning fly out of it and dance across the outside of the sphere.
Thumocris: I will not be denied by you, not again. This time you will serve, like you should have thousands of years ago, you ignorant demon wench.
Thumocris: rolls a test:

Bridgit winces as the lightning strikes the sphere.
Bridgit looks at Tilpi.
Rhotinia slaps Democles genty in the face
Democles looks catatonic and drools.
Bridgit: I can't keep this very long. I'm not in the best shape.
Bridgit spits more blood on the ground.

It looks perfectly safe for Volmalric to enter the sphere.
Volmalric: Bridgit, can I enter?
Bridgit nods affirmatively.
Volmalric: I'll take this from here, Tilpi. Here.
Volmalric hands Tilpi his holy symbol of Mitra
Volmalric: Drive the dead sorcerer back to the edge of death
Kazemi (Volmalric): Can I further heal Bridgit?
Volmalric used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool

Volmalric: Call upon the power of Mitra
Volmalric: Or whatever gods you worship
Rhotinia confidently strides towards the cloud
Rhotinia: Ok, this is your last chance: For a limited time only we will accept your surrender and allow you to slink away back to whatever realm you come from before we burn you in the holy fires of Volmalric's god
Rhotinia used a Fortune point to add a Natural 1 to their dice pool
Tilpi: Tilpi rolls a Counsel test:

Tilpi: Your wounds are no more real than this half-reality! Stand Tall, Brigit!
Tilpi clutches the Mitrian pendant
Bridgit: rolls a test:

Rhotinia: Rhotinia does damage with Steely Glare:

Tilpi: Tilpi does damage with Steely Glare:
Rolling 2d6 combat dice...
Total: 3 Effects: 0 [1d60.1+1d60.2 = 3]
Thumocris screams in rage.
Tilpi: The world was through with your kind ages ago!
Bridgit takes several deep breaths and seems to respond amazingly well to Volmalric's treatment.
Bridgit rises shakily to her feet and stares at the cloud.
Bridgit: No, I'm done being a slave for the perverse pleasure of Acheronian Wizards. Rhiveth freed me an age ago, and there is no going back.
Thumocris' floating red eyes swirl through the cloud, switching between Bridgit, Rhotinia, and Tilpi.
Thumocris: Enough, enough for now. Take your small victory and cherish it while you can. I will still win this war.
Volmalric: You've already lost, Thumocris
Thumocris floats skyward and disappears into thin cloudy streamers.
Tilpi: Tilpi rolls a Ranged test:
Target: 12 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.1+1d20.2 = 3]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
There is a clap of thunder and as the cloud dissipates, a reddish rain begins falling, as if some spectral creature begins bleeding. You notice it leaves a trail of slightly glowing reddish droplets as it heads in the direction of the volcano.
GM: And yes... that will actually result in him having extra damage the next time around, which means "Round 2 Fight!" will be easier. Nicely done.
Rhotinia: Huh, I didn't think you had it in you
Rhotinia: I am impressed Tilpi
Tilpi: I...I cannot bear such callous disregard for life.
Random Spectral Spectator slows claps.
Rhotinia: It's ok. Killing is hard the first time, but with enough spirits you'll learn to live with it
Tilpi falls over and suddenly becomes aware of wounds
Volmalric: Thumocris has been long dead
Bridgit laughs when she thinks Rhotinia is making a joke about "enough spirits you'll learn to live with it".
Bridgit sinks back down to the ground.
Bridgit looks at Volmalric.
Bridgit: So... where did you leave my children?
The petrified trees around you shift, as if the ground moves or an unfelt wind pushes them ever so slightly.
Volmalric: Paralyzed outside the tomb, hidden out of sight
Volmalric: In case Thumocris left that way, he should not see them
Volmalric: He'll be leaving to recouperate
Volmalric: Let's get out of here, sooner rather than later
Rhotinia: Agreed
Tilpi feels a sudden rush of warm air against her face, it feels like a nice Hyrkanian afternoon breeze.
Volmalric: This is an artificial dimension, and I do not know what its purpose is
Rhotinia: Nothing good
Bridgit: Did you leave them in a bed of grey lotus, because that is what you smell like.
Tilpi perks up for a second, convinced she can cobble together a natural poultice.
Bridgit: And I really don't want to find Sophie chewing on the ground around her again.
Volmalric: I think that's you who smells like grey lotus
Bridgit sniffs in Volmalric's direction.
Volmalric: Meltam encountered a bunch, but I never got a hold of any. I'm assuming it was raided at the inn
Rhotinia: Let's continue this conversation outside of the creepy evil dimension
Bridgit: I don't know, Tilpi, what do you think?
Tilpi: Tilpi rolls a Discipline test:
Target: 8 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 0 Momentum: 0 [2d20.17 = 34]
You did not succeed.
Tilpi does not make any coherent analysis of the current situation.
Bridgit: Agreed. This dimension is a prison. A very nasty one.
Bridgit: Hopefully however you arrived here, you brought a key that lets you leave.
Bridgit puts her hand up against a tree and stops to catch her breath after five minutes of walking.
Bridgit: Okay, I'm not in great shape, but I can fake it... somewhat.
Tilpi: Pray someone on the other end is maintaining the portal.
Volmalric: Stimulants, for the most part
Rhotinia picks up Democles
Rhotinia heads back towards the portal
Democles is strangely silent and stone from the waist down. He appears to be insensate and in shock.
Democles weighs close to 220kg.
Tack (Tilpi): does this mean he has a statue-esque physique?
GM: Oh, most definitely.
Rhotinia: Rhotinia rolls an Athletics test:
Target: 10 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 2 Momentum: 1 [1d20.3+1d20.5 = 8]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Volmalric: Uh, Bridgit, do you have advice?
GM: ( REWINDING AND MOVING THIS TO A MORE SENSIBLE SPOT... LOL... Okay.... BEFORE everyone walks back to the portal... we have the following exciting scene involving the NPC that everyone except Fen forgot...)
Volmalric: Democles, can you hear me?
Bridgit: About what?
Bridgit realizes Volmalric is talking about Democles.
Bridgit: Oh...
Bridgit hugs Democles.
Bridgit: I'm so sorry, I panicked.
Bridgit: I... uh... you are such a nice man.
Democles gurgles and drools.
Bridgit cries.
Bridgit: I don't have a way to fix this.
Bridgit: I'm so sorry.
Rhotinia: Then we just have to hoist him up and figure it out later
Bridgit: Maybe Cilissa has something in her stash of Acheronian artifacts?
GM: Quick, make a cart with some Wood and Bronze Nails, then throw him in the back and have Rhotinia carry him in it!
Rhotinia ties a rope around Democles legs
Rhotinia: Ill climb out and pull him you, you help guide him through from here
Tack (Tilpi): then a bunch of enemies will materialize out of no where _just_ to attack said cart. Science can't explain that.
Volmalric: Sounds good
Rhotinia climbs up the ladder and out of the portal
GM: Carts are a great way to aggro... I don't know... every freaking thing. Seriously, why are Fulings attacking a cart in the meadows?
Tack (Tilpi): every. damn. time. Those spear chuckers are no joke hahahha
With Tilpi and Bridgit not moving quickly or well, it takes about an hour to get back to the gaping hole in the ground which Thumocris conveniently left there so you can tell where the portal should be.
Tilpi: Tilpi rolls an Observation test:
Target: 11 Focus: 1 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.16+1d20.9 = 25]
You did succeed!
Rhotinia: Rhotinia rolls an Observation test:
Target: 9 Focus: 0 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 1 Momentum: 0 [1d20.1+1d20.19 = 20]
You did succeed!
Tilpi and Rhotinia spot what looks like freaky weird shimmering portal thing, it is about 2 meters off the ground, and not near the hole, so you just need to figure out how to get "up" to it.
Tilpi: Throw a rope up?
Tilpi: Surely someone on the other end still awaits us?
Volmalric: Nobody was out there last time
Rhotinia ties a rope to an arrow and fires it through the portal
Volmalric: Rhotinia, do you want to climb on my shoulders?
Rhotinia: Rhotinia rolls a Ranged test:
Target: 13 Focus: 3 Difficulty: 1 Complications: 0 Successes: 3 Momentum: 2 [1d20.1+1d20.5 = 6]
You succeeded and generated momentum!
Rhotinia gives it a tug
The rope seems tight on the other side.
Then a rope ladder drops through the portal, allowing easy ascent.
Tilpi: We have not been forgotten!
Rhotinia: Hopefully it is Asgrim and not someone that wants us dead
Rhotinia climbs the ladder
Tilpi Follows.
Volmalric helps Bridgit up
The group gets out of the portal and to the other side. It appears to be mid-afternoon in Messantia.
