Time flies when you are having fun.  Although for most of July I am not sure what fun I was having.  I have left Indianapolis and headed off on a business trip.  This GenCon was very enjoyable, better than some years, maybe not the greatest experience but definitely very fun.

Unlike previous years I was not working with my normal bevy of board game companies, but focused this year on role playing games.  As both a player and a GM I had a great time.  I played in some awesome events and seemed to have fun running a few good events for others.  I really found myself enjoying the experience.  True Dungeon was a miss for me this year, mostly because I was unable to get into the event.  Others I know said it went tolerably well, but the 2014 True Dungeon had better puzzles.

My earlier statement that you would never hear a boardgamer use the phrase, "I would play this game, but my table lacks the system specifications" was annihilated by being exposed to a game being run at GenCon (I unfortunately do not remember the name) which required a 6 square meter arrangement - for a 6 person game!

Overall, GenCon was a good experience.  I ran several Tunnels and Trolls games, played in other RPG events, and hopefully made a favorable impression on a large number of people that I may get to work with next year again.
