Extension (Conan 2D20 V3.6 09302018) loaded.
Red-Crested Shaman: The blue piranha are planning to summon a demon of the outer void. It is an anathema to our diety, and a perversion of our faith. However, we are prohibited from killing the blue piranha, due to agreements between our peoples.
Red-Crested Shaman: As a result, we will have you do the killing, we shall simply facilitate the process. Honor the letter of the law, not the spirit. I am sure you warm-bloods understand this.
Red-Crested Shaman: They expect an attack by warm-bloods, and have many wards in place. We shall simply bypass them by swimming through our tunnels to their lair. My warriors shall carry you in this task, we can extend our ability to breathe underwater to warm-bloods.
Slumbara: Slumbara can swim very well
Slumbara: Once I had to save Meltam and Volmalric from drowning
Red-Crested Shaman: That is fine, but you will need to keep up with us and stay underwater for about 20 minutes. I wish you well furry one.
Meltam Perandus: Um...Uhhh
Slumbara: This should be no problem for Slumbara
Red-Crested Shaman: Excellent, once there, the Lemurian Sorcerer, with a little help from me, shall disrupt the flows of sorcery around the summoning pit. The other two of you shall attack the guards, recover the amulet they are using for the ritual, and, assuming the milk-secreting warm-blood is still alive, rescue it.
Red-Crested Shaman pointed at Meltam when he said "Lemurian Sorceror"
Slumbara begins holding his breath to demonstrate his abilities
Slumbara: Resistance 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 16]
Slumbara: Resistance 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 36]
Tack (Meltam Perandus): chokes on bubble.
Meltam Perandus: Um, er um...
Meltam Perandus: I can try?
Slumbara leaves himself winded after valiantly trying to prove his breathing prowess.
Slumbara: On second thought, Slumbara likes air
Red-Crested Shaman looks at Meltam.
Slumbara: How else can I play the tuba
Red-Crested Shaman: But didn't you summon us? After you created the ray of sunshine that disrupted the magic of the Blue Piranha?
Slumbara: And Meltam is bad at sorcery, every time he tries it he summons a monster or a demon that fills him with black bile
Volmalric glances at Meltam
Meltam Perandus: You could say I was fishing for a solution to a problem, yes.
Red-Crested Warrior offers Slumbara a breathing reed.
Slumbara: Insight Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 19]
Slumbara accepts the reed skeptically
Meltam Perandus: You seem to be very familar with us land-dwellers
Red-Crested Warrior: Or I can just hold you and extend my ability to breathe underwater to you, whichever "floats your butt" as I believe you say.
Meltam Perandus: I lost a certain component allowing water-breathing a while ago. Let me see if I've learned past the need for it.
Slumbara: I think I like the part where the fish-man holds me
Slumbara: Slumbara likes new experiences
Red-Crested Warrior: I shall be honored to carry the mighty Slumbara into battle, as if I am a giant shark mount for you to jump from and slay our mutual foes.
Meltam Perandus: SHARK MOUNT?
Volmalric: I'm more liking the part where we stop this thrumming and prevent an unspeakable monstrosity from being brought into this world
Slumbara: Slumbara is liking the sound of this
Meltam Perandus Finds some water to dive into
Slumbara begins to play the Jaws theme on his tuba
Slumbara: Persuade 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 21]
Red Crested Warrior 2 says something in native tongue, which cuases the rest to roll their eyes.
Meltam Perandus: Sorcery 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 28]
Meltam Perandus: Might as well just call whales Sea-Tubas.
Red-Crested Shaman: Shall we be on our way?
Meltam Perandus: Yes please!
Volmalric: Let's get going!
Slumbara: Yes, prepare for battle noble steed
Slumbara leaps onto the red warrior's back
Slumbara: Animal Handling 4EXP/4FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 21]
Three of the red crested warriors each grab a human and dive into the nearby water. The Shaman dives in after them. They swim upstream through a series of what looks like lava tubes for about 20 minutes, until the ones carrying Volmalric and Slumbara break off one direction while the one carrying Meltalm and the Shaman head down a different lava tube.
Meltam Perandus privately grumbles that Rhiveth took all the fun magical items.
Slumbara plas the jaws theme
Slumbara: Persuade 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 6]
You then surface from deep and swift flowing streams on opposite sides of the ritual area.
The ritual area is in a flat break between the trees. There is an ancient blood-stained altar before a gaping circular pit. Ten piranha headed guards stand near two chanting priests. What was a ring of standing stones is knocked over. The croaking voices of the priests echo as they wave their hands over the pit and offer bits of animal and other items to the pit. As you survey the scene, what sounds like a large belch erupts from the pit.
Red-Crested Shaman nudges Meltam.
Red-Crested Shaman: Now is the time for you to use your Lemurian magic to stop the ritual.
Meltam Perandus is using a Hero Point
Meltam Perandus: Sorcery 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 19]
Meltam Perandus feigns concentration in front of Red-Crest. What's the magic biz without the show?
Red-Crested Warrior leaps mightily into the air, springing forth like a giant Megalodon raining death upon the land dwellers, as he throws Slumbara through the air like a living blade of destruction while Slumbara lustily belches forth the Jaws theme, somehow spraying the water free of the tuba and sending forth an awe-inspiring piece of tuba music.
Meltam begins uttering forth words of power, not even sure where he learned them or how. His voice begins working counter to the croaking of the blue piranha shaman, almost as if he was engaging in a dueling musical chorus. Storm clouds swirl UP from the pit.
Red-Crested Shaman: Well done, Lemurian! Keep up your efforts!
[TURN] Slumbara
Slumbara is using a Hero Point
Slumbara: Going to attack the nearest dweller, impaling him on my sword, then do a spin move to fling him off the sword as a ranged weapon and attempt to use his corpse to knock the shaman #2 into the pit
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 9]
Slumbara: Broadsword: (Reach 2-Parry 1-UNB-5D): [7d6 = 20]
Slumbara: [1d6 = 3]
Slumbara: Ranged Weapons 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 29]
Slumbara: Slumbara leaps from the water and impales one of the fish-men on his sword. With a mighty grunt, he spins and hurls the corpse of the fish-man across the room, just over the head of one of the shamans, and into the pit
Pit belches.
[TURN] Volmalric
Volmalric is using a Hero Point
Volmalric takes aim with his bow as the heads turn towards Slumbara, firing an arrow at one of the chanting Shaman's neck (two momentum for a called shot, hero point for 2 successes)
Volmalric: Ranged Weapons 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 29]
Volmalric: Bow: (Close-2H-Volley-3D): [4d6 = 14]
The Blue Piranha Shaman seems a bit annoyed at the arrow that gets stuck in the folds of its fishy neck and stops chanting entirely. This provides a small bonus to Meltam next round.
Slumbara charges towards Shaman 2
Slumbara: This is sparta!
Slumbara: Melee 2EXP/2FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 26]
Blue-Piranha Shaman: Parry, Ranged Weapons Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 33]
Slumbara: Athletics 3EXP/3FOC Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 19]
Blue-Pirnaha Shaman: Acrobatics, Stealth Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 7]
Slumbara kicks the shaman in the chest with all his might, hoping to watch him fall into the pit and die a gruesome death
The Blue Piranha Shaman staggers forward and tumbles towards the pit, but swings out with a clawed foot at the last second and manages an amazing acrobatics feat to avoid falling into the pit and dying gruesomely.
Blue-Piranha Shaman: Sorcery Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 8]
Blue-Piranha Shaman: Sorcery Successes = 3 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 8]

Red-Crested Warrior: Parry, Ranged Weapons Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 35]
Red-Crested Shaman: Sorcery Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 23]
The Red Crested Shaman forms a barrier of vines and creepers in front of Meltam that slows down the Blue Piranhas charging him. Then the Red Crested Warrior steps forward and deflects their thrown knives away from Meltam.
Slumbara is at risk of being surrounded, but the two Red-Creseted Warriors run up and draw bone swords, which they use to parry off the attacks of the Blue Piranha warriors.
Kazemi (Volmalric): Slumbara is not at risk of being surrounded by blue fins, the blue fins are at risk of surrounding Slumbara
There is much cursing and swearing in a warbling, gurgling tongue as the two groups attempt to Intimidate each other since they can't attack each other directly.
[ROUND 2]
[TURN] Dweller in the Deep 4
Meltam Perandus: Ye with hunger more infinite than the depths, begone from this world!
Slumbara is using a Hero Point

Slumbara: [4d6 = 7]
Slumbara: [1d6 = 4]
Slumbara: [1d6 = 4]
Slumbara violently hacks at the fish people surrounding him
Slumbara: Slumbara fears no fish
Slumbara stabs at one of the Dwellers and one of the Shaman, but a nearby warrior deflects the blow to himself. Neither is killed, but both are injured.
Slumbara: Not even airplane meal fish
Meltam Perandus: If you only leave one alive, is it the sole survivor?
Pit: Pit Monster scared of Airplane Fish. Slumbara must be mighty indeed.
Slumbara: Slumbara is indeed mighty, here take a business card
Slumbara tosses a business card into the pit
A giant glowing green oose covered purplish tentacle snags card from the air and takes it into the pit.
Volmalric: Ranged Weapons 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 23]
Meltam Perandus: [1d6 = 4]
Volmalric: Bow: (Close-2H-Volley-3D): [4d6 = 14]
Volmalric's arrow bounces off the thick hide of the Blue Piranha warrior.
Meltam Perandus: Sorcery 1EXP/1FOC Successes = 0 Complications = 1 [2d20 = 31]
Red-Crested Shaman: Oh dear.
Red-Crested Shaman: Bollocks.
Meltalm chants vigorously and decides that he kind of likes the way the Blue Piranha chant and tries that also.
Slumbara: Meltam, do I need to cut off your hand again?
Several large green glowing ooze covered purple tentacles rise from the pit and begin thrashing around.
Slumbara is using a Hero Point
Slumbara: While attempting to copy the chat of the fish-men, Meltam's childhood auditory dyslexia rears its ugly head. Without realizing, he begins chanting the chant in reverse
Meltam Perandus: !reruoved yhsif o ,nwod no emoC
Meltam Perandus: !uoy stiaw dlrow elohw a
Red-Crested Shaman casts a gust of wind to push the ones attacking Meltam pack into the thrashing vines.

Red-Crested Warrior: Parry, Ranged Weapons Successes = 0 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 30]
The fish people up near Meltam fight to an impasse. The ones near Slumbara are a bit more violent.
The blue Piranha near the pit swings at Slumbara, and his blade is deflected by the red-crested warrior, who overextends himself and they manage to stab each other - which is made worse by the fact that they are then tangled in their barbed weaponry and both fall into the pit.
Red-Crested Shaman: That is ... bad.
Slumbara: You are bad
Slumbara: Zing
Slumbara: oh wait, you're one of our fish people
Meltam Perandus: !worg ylno lliw etiteppa s'tI !on hO
Slumbara: This thing likes eating fish more than Wisconsinites on a Friday
Slumbara's faithful shark mount (Warrior 1) parries off two blows meant for the mighty warrior, who emerges unscathed yet again.
Red-Crested Warrior: Sorcery Successes = 2 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 20]
Red-Crested Warrior: Sorcery Successes = 1 Complications = 0 [2d20 = 27]
Red-Crested Warrior: :: Sorcerous Blast(R): [6d6 = 23]
One of the Blue Piranha Shaman continues to chant, trying to keep the ritual under control. The other turns and summons a bolt of lightning from an amulet that strikes Slumbara in the head.
The Shaman is a bit annoyed at how completely ineffectual his magic attack was.
A pulsating purple glow begins blinking like a disco ball gone berserk and a large hazy bulk starts to form as the tentacles rise.
Campaign saved.
