Voice on other side of the Door: Who's there?
Rhotinia: Yuz-Bashi Rhotinia, is that you Lefty?
Rhotinia's question goes unanswered. Sounds of fighting from nearby streets echo and the acrid strench of burning wafts down the street. About a minute passes, and you hear multiple bolts being removed from the door and then a large bar being removed.
A skinny waif of a boy slides the door open and looks the group over.
Boy: Hmm... Lefty didn't say anything about visitors, but I remember you.
Boy: Come in before the monsters get here.
Volmalric: Much obliged
Boy gestures for everyone to enter the building.
Rhotinia: Thank you child, apologies for the unanounced visit

Rhotinia: Yes, I suspect the undead hordes outside would not be able to enter uninvited
Rhotinia: Which begs the question what this child is so worried about
Democles is scanning for sewer entrances and floor-based exits.

Sophie takes Bridgit off Rhotinia's horse and sets her on pile of bolts of ragged looking cloth. Bridgit whimpers a little bit and curls tighter into a ball.
Sophie: She's normally not this bad.
Sophie actually looks concerned.
Rhotinia: These are hardly normal times
Democles is not sure which is scarier, Bridgit being this bad or Sophie actually caring.
Boy: Well, we have had other visitors ma'am. Seems like everyone wants something.
Volmalric: Who came earlier?
Boy: Lots of rich, fat nobles who suddenly seemed to think the world was ending and they needed out.
Rhotinia: I wonder what gave them that impression
Boy: Sure, don't care about people like me until their children get eaten by ghouls.
Tilpi comforts the shaken and disturbed Brigit.

Boy guides whoever is going to follow through a maze of crates that smell of mold and rot.

Volmalric follows through, grimacing at the smells
Boy arrives in the middle of the warehouse, pushes a "heavy looking" stack of crates out of the way, revealing a well-lit but short flight of stairs heading down.
Several cloaked men with crossbows point at the group menacingly, but the boy gestures and they relax.
Democles strikes up a long conversation with Tilpi about life in Hyrkania
Asgrim heads down the stairs after the boy, occupying the valuable role as both tank and red shirt in the event of combat.
The boy leads the group past a series of doors and into a room where a skinny man with a panicked expression, who has his right hand cut off and the stump ends in a hook, looks relieved to see you.
Lefty: Well, if it is not Yuz-Bashi Rhotinia. You picked a fun time to return to Messantia.
Rhotinia: It's good to see you again old friend, I too wish it were under better circumstances
Lefty: Well, what brings you to my parlor?
Rhotinia shows lefty the symbol

Rhotinia: I can still smell their cologne... If we are a step behind, we had better get a move on. We will head to Seward street at once

Volmalric: Unless your goal is to prevent something from possessing you, in which case it can at least prevent that
Rhotinia grasps two large bottles of hyrkanian spirits and nods to Asgrim and Volmalric
Volmalric hums to himself as he goes through and gets together the necessary materials for a fireball
Asgrim: Oh, well, I'm all for spirits possessing me, if the proof on the bottle is high enough.
Volmalric gestures the door we entered from, and a bottle in his hand with a wick in it
Rhotinia: Well, here's to old friends and new problems. May you never have an enemy you can't outwit, outrun or outlast.
Asgrim walks over to a door, making "Thor-looking-for-a-flagon-of-ale" faces while gesturing around the room to make sure he is going to the right spot.
Rhotinia nods when Asgrim gets to the right door
Lefty is starting to turn pale as a sheet as he figures out what the rest of the group is up to.
Rhotinia smashes her glass on the ground to signal Asgrim and Volmalric

Rhotinia: As Asgrim kicks the door down, Rhotinia hurls two large bottles of spirits through, pausing only momentarily to assess the figures behind the door

The small storage room is filled with flames and several heavily armored men scream in pain and come flailing out of the room as they are set on fire. The heavy amounts of floating saw dust in the room ignite the fireball, along with all the other flammable contents explode, sending lacerating debris outward in a wave of shrapnel and heat.
Tilpi hears a "thump" noise, and feels like, in the future, someone would yell, "Fire in the Hole" in this situation.
Lefty: Now would be a good time to run.
Rhotinia: Who are these people, why are they after this tome of Skelos?
Lefty heads for a different door.
Rhotinia follows Lefty
The door you entered through is kicked open and the men with crossbows enter, firing wildly.
Rhotinia: I take it these crossbowmen are not yours?

One of the crossbow bolts makes a loud clang and stuns Rhotinia for a second as it deflects off the top of her helmet. If she had not been wearing it, the shot likely would have been very painful.
Volmalric gets shot in the left leg with a bolt that sticks in place and is quite painful.

...but wait... Volmalric spryly leaps out of danger at the last second!
Rhotinia: Lefty, are these Cilissa's men?
Lefty did not have a nice helmet, takes 14 points of damage to the head, and answers Rhotinia's question with his head exploding like an overripe melon.
Volmalric: Damn it!
A crossbow bolt strikes Asgrim in the chest, most of the impact is absorbed by his armor and the burly Norseman seems to be more aggravated than hurt by the shot.
Rhotinia: This has not gone according to plan, but this seems like a great time to leave
Rhotinia grabs Volmalric and runs through the door Lefty was heading for
Asgrim rolls a test:

Asgrim hacks down one of the crossbow firing guards who leapt into the room to try and put out the fire on one of the four burning men in the room.

Asgrim lets out loud and menacing battlecry, then backs towards the door Rhotinia and Volmalric fled out of.

The glass bottle explodes in the room, a sickly yellow gas exploding forth in a noxious fume that coats its surroundings, including the crossbowmen heading into the room. It clings to everything, but is especially unpleasant to eyes, nose, mouth, and throat.
Asgrim looks suitably impressed as the group makes their escape!
